In A New Design for Living, Holmes writes that if it is “done to us as we believe” then there is Something that is doing the something. If I think about it – that Something is LIFE. It is the collective “all of it” around me – that is GOD! It is acting on my thought and mirroring back to me what I have thought into It, but it is so easy for me to separate the book on the table from the table…from the coffee mug…from the phone – but it one. It is Life. It is a single tapestry that I am experiencing, witnessing – this Something IS the something that I am experiencing. The singular experience of my life is my experience of this Something as filtered through my thoughts and beliefs…or it is the outpicturing of those thoughts and beliefs that I’m experiencing.

What comes to mind as I think about this, living my life is less of trying to control specific circumstances and more of “What is my relationship to the Whole?” This is what Jesus meant by seeking the Kingdom of God; this means seeing, sensing the unified expression of Life and my part in It.

Where does this Something end and “I” begin? This Something is ever inwards – there is no separation, it has forever known me as part of It. I am the impetus of this Something.

Words fail me.

I’m in the middle of teaching a class based on the book, Spiritual Fitness. It’s a book written by Caroline Reynolds. This morning while reading it the question came up for me:

How accepting am I of change in my life?

Caroline Reynolds writes that we “must accept change as a vital part of our life”. She also says, “We don’t really want to change, we just want to feel better about our old way of doing things.” Reading this made me sit back and think.

I don’t believe that change is necessary from the perspective of our highest spiritual Truth. We are whole – perfect – complete. But how often am I living from Truth or even just my own inner experience of truth?

Thinking about this made me sit with the need to get honest with myself. Self-examination is necessary, particularly in those areas that are causing me pain. Because these are the areas that calling me to ‘change’. This doesn’t mean me digging through the muck, but I’m being called to release those thoughts, attitudes and beliefs that are not in alignment with my truth. I am being calling to congruence and integrity. I am being called to live my life from the inside out.

What areas am I experience this calling to change?

What changes am I to make in my living? Releasing the need for conformity but acting from Self expressing and walking in Truth.

Yesterday at Suncoast, we spoke about about how we get to choose the WHAT we are planting and WHERE we are planting but it requires us to live consciously. What does that mean…living consciously? To me its about being awake and aware to who we are as well as to who Spirit is calling us to be.

There was a quote I shared from Jesus, “Let him that have ears, hear.” I always wondered really the significance of that until it hit me – “if you hear this, then LISTEN to what I’m saying”. Don’t just be entertained by it, but really listen and take it deep. Let it reverb within and leave you changed.

This is my desire for myself and everyone at Suncoast CSL that we are changed by really hearing the Truth. Spirit is calling to each one of us to be, do and have only what Spirit can express through us as unique children of God. Taking the time to be present opens up to plant in the “good earth” where we will reap 100x what was sown.

I accept for myself open ears – I hear and am transformed by Truth and am set free by It.

Here is the audio of yesterday’s talk:
