I think there is a place for blogging, for example, in the media (such as sports broadcasters). I just not so sure of the relevance to John & Jane Public. What do you think?
In a strange way, it kind of feels like I'm in New York City. Can't explain why. Maybe it's the ambience of the coffeehouse. I love the ambience here: old brick walls, halogen lights, art of the walls, really good coffee.

I've had the luxury of traveling to NYC many time(perhaps as many as 40 or 50) mostly for business in a previous job. As cliché as it sounds, I love New York. I love the energy. That's a hard thing to describe. Energy. Vibe. Ambience? I don't know. I just know I love it.

I hope to live in New York someday. I may have had an opportunity to move there at a time when the company I used to work for was looking to open a sales office there. I am sure if I had of expressed an interest, they would have jumped at it. But my boys were young and the time was in the few short years after 9/11, that it didn't see like a good idea to move the family there.

Maybe one day after the kids have moved out, and we are not fostering anymore, maybe Cindy and I can make to move. I can dream can't I?

Funny: Simon & Garfunkel (59th Street Bridge Song/Sound of Silence) just came on the shuffle on my iPhone. More NYC vibes.

I hope to chronicle more thoughts and memories from NY. Stay tuned.

Blog Revival

Been debating for awhile reviving my blog. I'm not sure why because my memory of having my blog before was that it was a nuisance both in maintaining it and socially with many more adversarial, negative interactions with commenters.

I think that blogging is supposed to be about me. My thoughts, feelings about life, society, current events, politics, religion. An online journal. A weblog.

So, for me, that's what it will be. My struggle will be to strike a balance between blogging my thoughts & feelings and maintaining a level of privacy that is within my family's comfort zone.

This will be about me. At my pace. I'm contemplating disabling comments to avoid negativity, but I don't "want" to do that. Don't want to silence that positive & uplifting interactions with friends.

We'll see how it goes.

Welcome.
