Greg began DJing in 1975 and is regarded as one of the most important figures on the UK dance scene. He enjoyed hugely popular residencies in the early eighties at Wigan Pier and Manchester’s majorly influential Legend. He was a pioneer of mixing in the UK and in 1983 he became the first ‘dance music’ DJ hired for a regular weekly session at Manchester’s now legendary Hacienda club. Greg was instrumental in breaking the new electronic,post-disco records coming out of New York, a sound he has dubbed ’Electro-Funk’.

Lead singer Smith revealed that the band will explore a new direction on their next album, pursuing a new, rawer sound.

Update: Some bold boys from a record label asked me to take down the MP3. Since I’m a nice boy, I took it down.

Wow! Talk about a new direction. It sounds like Ian Curtis singing over a New Order track. I’m exited about the forthcoming album, In This Light and On This Evening, out in September.

Coldplay have gone back to the drawing board on their more mainstream tracks, Clocks, and have re-interpreted it as Cocks.

Ian Brown is back with some fresh monkey business. Ian’s 6th studio album, and his follow up to 2007′s The World is Yours, is out on the 29th of September. The album is titled My Way and is inspired by Michael Jackson’s Thriller album.

“Every time we wrote a song we didn’t think was strong enough, we scrapped it. We mastered it on the day that Michael Jackson died too, so I’m taking that as a good omen.”
