How to install CyanogenMod 7 on aclatel 908

Sorry for not writting new posts but i had a lot of work to do. Today i am back with great news for my friends who owned alcatel 908.

So the good news are only for those who have upgraded their phones (alcatel 908) to gingerbeard. CM7 IS HERE FOR THEM.

What is CyanogenMod?

CyanogenMod is an open source replacement for smart phones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.
Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support, FLAC audio codec support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, an enhanced reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and other performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. According to its developers, CyanogenMod does not contain spyware or bloatware. CyanogenMod is also stated to increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.
CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code.

Although only a subset of total CyanogenMod users elect to report their use of the firmware, as of 31 December 2012, CyanogenMod has recorded over 3.6 million active installs on a multitude of devices.

Who developed cm7 for alcatel 908?

All congrats goes to gulyuk.s from xda forums. He and his team compiles cm7 for alcatel 990 first and then for our phone. His first release had some bugs as the 3g was no working. After some months he released the stable version with no bugs.

What i have to do to install cm7?

THIS CAN BE DONE ONLY IF YOU HAVE UPGRADED TO GINGERBEARD(SEE HERE HOW TO DO THIS)

So lets start:

1. You should have installed ClockWorkMod (see here how to)

2. Now download the new CWM version from here

3. Now download the cm7 rom from here

4. Copy them to your sdcard

5. Now enter CWM (see this video)

Do a nandroid backup first!In case something go wrong! See here how to

i) Go to install zip from sdcard

ii) Then go to choose zip from sdcrad

iii) Finally select the file you that you have dowloaded from the 2 step

4. Once it is done do the same process and install the file that you have dowloaded from step 3

5. Now go back to the first page of the CWM (enable back button by pressing the volumeup + down the same time)

6. Now when you are at the first page choose wipe data/factory reset

7. Once its done reboot the system

8. Congratulations you have installed cm7 to your alcatel 908. Enjoy it!

How to do a nandroid backup and restore it

Many people want to have a backup from their phones app, messages etc. This can be done via CWM and its called nandroid backup. It is easy and it can save you from problems like non booting.

So today i will decribe you how to do this nandroid backup.
Let's start:
1. You must have CWM installed (how to install it see here for alcatel 908)
2. Enter CWM (if you want help see here)

The backup part:
1. Go to backup and restore
2. Then click backup
3. It will take some time to backup. Depends on how many data you have.
4. Once its finished you have created a backup of your phone. It is located to your sdcard in the clockworkmode folder. You can copy it to your computer because its a large file or you can leave if you have big sdcard.

The restore part:
Something happened to your phone and you want to restore to previous time.
1. Enter CWM
2. Go to backup and restore
3. Then go to restore
4. Now choose the restore file
5. Select it and leave it do its things. It will take also sometime to restore.

3. DONE!

CONGRATS You have backuped and restored your files from your phone.

APK Batch Installer: Install, backup, restore apk and their data to/from your pc

Today i will intronduce you a simple way to copy all your apk and their datas to your pc from your android phone. I am trying different roms for my phone and every time i had to install them from the beggining.
I found the best tool for this work. This app was made by hamsteyr from xda forums. This app is very usefull because there is no option from android to copy all your apk and their data and second is very fast. So let's begin:

This is the home screen of the app:
A simple little windows app that is packaged with adb.exe, and if you're so nice as to give it the directory as to which all your apk files are stored, then it'll scan that directory for apk files.

Wait for the application to run through your device, backing their APK's into a local directory.

It scans if you have applications installed to your SD Card as well.
After this check which apps you want to backup and click next.

Then it will ask you which apps data you want to backup

At the end of the process it will backup your selected data apps.

Now if you want to restore your backup inside your phone it will also install them inside your phone.

Select if you want to restore the apk data and if you want to install them in your sc card or your internal memory.

Select which apps you want to restore.

Now select which apps you wan to install them to your sd card. If you selected from the start the option install on sd card.

Then select which apk data will restore to your device.

Then click install. Done. Now the time depends on how many apps you want to to restore and how fast your phone is.

Now you can also backup and restore your sms. For those who don't want to lose their importand sms. (from the girlfriend or boyfriend :P)

All this process the backup and restore can be done also via wireless with the adb wireless option. For those who knows what this is just keep reading. For the others check the link here

The process is the same only some difernce.
check the box up right.

Now fill in the ip which you got from the adb wireless.

if you put wrong ip the face will be sad. Otherwise it will smile

And now the process is the same.

This is the best by far tool for bucking up your apk and data.

How to Connect your Android phone to ADB wireless

My previous post was how to install adb. Now i will describe you how to use the wireless fuction of the adb tool.
Many times i had to find my cable to cennect my phone to the pc then doing all the things i want to do. Now via the adb wireless there is a simplier and not very easy though option.

First of all you must have installed the adb check my post if not here

SO let's start:
1. You must download this app from the market here
2. Now as i described to my previous post go to the adb directory and open the command promt.
3. Now open the app you just installed to your device you must be rooted.
4. Now onece you are inside the app press the big green button
5. As you can see an ip was given to you from the app
6. Now back to the command prompt and type adb connect writetheip
7. If all went smooth you should see connected to theip
8.Done! Now your phone is connected wireless to your pc.
9. You can use now all the adb command like push pull install etc.

ADB What is it and How to Install and Use it

What is ADB?
ADB stands for the android debugging bridge and is used for testing and debugging purposes by developers.

However, we like to get more out of our devices, and its a great way to fix things.
Knowing adb can mean the difference between a paperweight and a working phone.

Now let's start.
1. Install the adnroid sdk to your pc from here
2. Install andoid sdk
3. Now open it and select usb drivers and install it.

Once its done close it.

4. Go to C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools

5. Now click shift+right click
6. Click open command prompt
7. Now connect your device via usb to your computer
8. Once its connected write to the command promt adb devices a nuber must appeared. If yes you are alright.

Some usefull commands are:
1.

adb pull

this command can be used to cpy files from your device
use it like this

adb pull /mnt/sdcrad/filename

2.
copy files fro your sd card

Copy files from your pc to your device

adb push

example

adb push C:\adnroid.jpg /mnt/sdcard/

This will copy the jpg file to your sd card

3.
install apk from your pc

adb install

this will install apk file from your pc to your phone

adb install C:\calendar.apk

Increase Reading Speed For Your SD Card by 100% to 200%

Many times i was waiting for my sd card to load after a reboot or when i close the conection via usb and some times for reading files. I found a way to fix that speed from an app developer.

Most phones they have default 128kb for our phone will change it a will make it 3072.
The variety of changes are 1024, 2048, 3072, 4076
After tests i made for our phone(those who have others phone you must take a test on yourselfs) the best for our phone is 3072 . This is for the best results.

Let's start:

1. You must download this app from the play store here
2. After the installation have been completed open it.
3. As you can see it says the default 128kb
3. There is a slider cahnge to 3072 and then tick the box at the bottom and the click the button which looks like fireball.
4. For those who want to make on their own the test in which best fits for them
   Change the slider and then don't tick the bix at the bottom.
   Clcik the fireball button and check with this program the speeds here
   Choose which is the best for you.
5. Done! Now your speed has been increased

How To Prolong Your Li-Ion Battery's life

Today because i don't have mush time i will describe on how to prolong your battery's life. Almost everyone knows that the best for the battery is to descharge it all and then charge it but after a search i have made i come up with some great results and tips
on how to prolong its life because the most peple now a part of the story or they know it false.

1.Use partial-discharge cycles
Using only 20% or 30% of the battery capacity before recharging will extend cycle life considerablυ.
Used on a lot of newer devices, has no "memory" effect, should be recharged as often as possible, actually likes to be charged and draining it regularly can cause the usage time to be shortened, can NEVER be overcharged so whenever you're near a charger put it on there.

2.Keeping your Li-ion battery at 100% all the time is also not good for it
This simply means that using your laptop/gadget plugged in and at 100% battery capacity all the time will make your Li-ion battery suffer from capacity loss. Permanent capacity loss also occurs even when the battery is not in use.

3.Permanent capacity loss is greatest at elevated temperatures
Heat is the worst enemy of your cell phones battery. So keeping your battery at room temperature (65-75*F) is the first step towards prolonging your battery's life.

4. If you are going to store your battery for an extended period store it at about 50% charged
Also keeping the battery cool during extended storage will slow deterioration. Keeping the battery in a sealed bag or tupperware in your refrigerator is okay, but storing your battery in the freezer is not. When a battery is fully charged oxidation is occurring at its highest rate, and oxidation is essential corrosion. Oxidation occurs whether the battery is in use or not, for this reason it is better to get a high capacity battery rather than a spare.

5.Deep dicharge once a month
While this may not exactly prolong the life of your Li-ion battery, it will keep the battery “smart.” In other words, it will more accurately report how much life is remaining. The li-ion battery does not have memory but your phone does

Custom Rom For Alcatel 908 Gingerbread

Today i will introduce you a custom rom for alcatel 908. The people who like to "fix" their phones by changing some software elemets or they just like install new thing and try new things this is just for you. I ahve not tried this rom on my phone because it is only for gingerbread and in my country hasn't arrived yet.
Changing rom is for people who know how to handle these things so please don't destroy your phone. Let's start:

Requirements:

1. You must have installed CWM to your phone just follow this instructions

Steps:

1. Once you have done with CWM and its working download the custom rom package here

2. Copy it to your sd card

3. Now enter CWM (Video on how to enter here)

4. First we must make a backup go to backup and restore

5. Press backup and wait until it is done.

6. Now go back

7. Now in CWM home screen go to install zip from sd card

8. Choose zip from sd card

9. Choose the zip and install it

10. Wait until installation complete. Done!

11. Now you have custom rom installed to you phone.

IMPORTANT ! -this ROM will work only for the case you already have an official Gingerbread update from Alcatel by Move Upgrade/ One Touch Upgrade/ OTA update ! if you are on Froyo/ Android 2.2.2 never flash this ROM - will simply not work !!

Today i will describe you how to upagrade you alcatel move. In some countrys not all of them it depends on the provider the gingerbread version is availiable for alcatel move.
Many people asked how to upgrade your phone to this version. So lets begin:

Steps:
1. Dowload the upgrade tool from the alcatel site. The move upgrade
2. Install it to your pc
3. Now close your phone.
4. Press the home button and conect the phone via usb to the pc
5. Keep the button pressed
6. Open the upgrade program
7. Coose your language and click ok
8. Click start. Now if there is new version for your phone it will be dowloaded. If not it will display you a message.
9. Remember to Save All Your Conect. I t will be erased
10. Done!

Improve Touch Screen Responce

Today i will describe you a way to improve your touch screen responce. This is for people who are having problems with the time responce of their touch screen. I don't recommended for people who their touch screen responce dosn't have any problem.
So let's start:

Steps:
1. Dowload this app CalibrationApp
2. Copy it to your sd card
3. Make sure you have unknown sources enabled
- if not go to settings >> applications
4. Now install the app using any app like root explorer or es manager
5. Once the app has been installed open it.
6. Click to Recalibration button and NOW DONT TOUCH THE SCREEN
7. Once it has finished close the app
8. Done! Check the responce time of your touch screen now it should be faster

This will work on any rom

Fix Gps Issues All Android Phones

Have a GPS location issue? Does your Gps taking too long to locate you? I found a fix for this problem because i was tired of using my gps and taking 10 mintes to locate me or not locating me at all.
So i searched and i thing i found the best solution for this problem. I am using it about a week and it works perfect. It is locating me in less than halp minute.
Talking too much? Let's begin

Steps:
1. Go to goggle play and download Gps status
2. Install the Gps Status
3. Connect to the internet(not necessary but it will reduce the location time)
4. Open the app you will see a compass
5. Go to menu >> tools
6. Select Manage A-GPS state and click Download (This will download assistance data for the gps it should be updated 2-3 days)
7. You can set to auto download if you go to menu >> settings >> GPS & Sensors and change the Auto-dowload AGPS as you like.
8. Go to home of the ap (Where the compass is) and you will see or wait a little some informations and before these it should appear Gps fix and the time
9. Done now go and check from google maps it will locate it you in less than half minute

You can change the Units & formating from the menu >> settings

It also fixs the location problem from apps like ecomondo and other sport apps.

How to install flash player Alcatel 908

I just found a way to install flash player to our phone beacause as you know our phone dosn't have flash player pre-installed. As a result many websites on the phone broswer not working and some apps also not working. So its good to have flash player on your phone.
Lets start:

Requirements:
only your phone

Steps:
1.Download the app and save it to your sd
(Download flash player)
2.Make sure you have "UNKNOWN SOURCES" enabled in your settings > applications
3.Now open file manager like astro or es file manager
(choose whatever you want they are almost the same)
3.Navigate where you stored the apk file
4. Now open the file and click install
5. Reboot phone ones the installation haw been completed
6. Done!

-(This flash player is not working in opera mini)

-(For best results use dolphin broswer)

Factory reset Alcatel 908

Do you have problem with your your phone it is not booting or there is another problem which you can't fix. The besst way is to do a factory reset but you will lose all your data unfortunatly.

Requirements:
An alcatel move phone

Steps:
1. Save all data from your sd card
2. Turn off your phone
3. Turn on your phone by pressing Power button and volume up button at the same time
4. Wait about half minute a screen should appear with anroid logo.
5. Release the buttons and let the phone to its things

Now you have a factory settings phone.

Internal memory problem Alcatel 908 How to fix

I have been looking for something like this for a while. The flipout lacks internal memory and it soon becomes a problem if you want to have a good set of apps.

Requirements:
1. Rooted phone (if not read this)
2. Installed CWM (if not read this)

Steps:
1. Save all content from sdcard !

2. Enter CWM
- Turn off your phone
- Turn on your phone
- when it light up press volume up and home buttons for 10s (you must do it fast)

3.Then go
- advanced/ Partition SD Card
- format sdcard size=1024MB/ swap=0

4. This will create an ext3 part for Dalvik-cache/ apps

5. Done!

6. Now go to your phone settings
- Sd card & phone storage
- Now there should be a bigger internal phone storage

So, this has worked for me like a charm, the phone really seems stable

How to install ClockworkMod Recovery Alcatel OT-908- Move

I searched and i found the easiest way to Flash Cwm.This is a how to tutorial on how to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your phone. So let's start

Steps:

1.Ιnstall Android SDK

Click to download

2. Download recovery.zip
Click to download

3. Copy recovery.img to location where you stored sdk tools
(usually C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools )

4.Enter fastboot mode
-Disconnect the cable, power off the phone
-Turn on the phone holding the volume down key
-Connect the phone to the computer and release the volume down key

5. From this point forward, do not touch the device

6.Open a Command Prompt window on your PC (Press the Start button, and in the search field type cmd, and then press Enter)
Here’s an example of how your Command Prompt window may look:

7. You must now change the directory to where your Fastboot files are located. Therefore, I would need to type the following command in the Command Prompt window: cd C:\Users\konstantinos\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools

The “cd” refers to “change directory,” while the rest is where your Fastboot files are located. Here’s how your Command Prompt window will look like after you’ve typed the above, and BEFORE you press the Enter key:

Here’s an example of how your Command Prompt window will appear AFTER you press the Enter key:

Next you need to type the following: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

The file recovery.img is the file which we copied on step 3

Here’s how your Command Prompt window will appear BEFORE you press the Enter key:

Now press the Enter key and let the program run.

The entire installation/flash will take only a few seconds. When complete, your Command Prompt window will return to your fastboot directory (see image below):

Ignore the error in my image above, the line called error: cannot load ‘recovery.img’

This error message appeared ONLY because I didn’t want to install Clockworkmod Recovery on my device a second time

8.Reboot your device.

9. To enter CWM recovery press VolUP+Menu for 10s at phone start

DONE! You now have Clockworkmod Recovery on your phone.

How to root Alcatel 908

I will show you how i managed to root my alcatel 908. I think its easy to root it. Root offers many advantages to your cell phone and you. So its must be done if you want to have some more actions.
Let's start

STEP 1 :
Turn on USB DEBUGGING op your phone :
(in the menu, then settings, then applications, then development, and then making sure USB debugging is on).

STEP 2 :
You must have ADB DRIVERS installed.
Click to download

STEP 3 :
You must have ALCATEL QUALCOMM USB DRIVERS installed.
Click to download

STEP 4 :
Download and extract the latest version of SuperOneClick.
The version that I used was SuperOneClick v2.2 ,

FINAL STEP :
Once the ADB Drivers and QUALCOMM USB Drivers are installed, you can simply rightclick SuperOneClick.exe as administrator
(Important , run as Administrator!)
And when SuperOneClick opens , simply press the Root button, and the rooting process should start automatically
and just wait until everything finishes you will get a message if it's been successfull.
It will ask to install busybox. (This is optional)

Congratulations, you are now equipped with a rooted phone, and you should have superuser access on your android phone´s program list.
