Admittedly, it has taken a while to get things where I want them this particular CAMA year. There have been a number of things that have prohibited me from really putting forth the full effort I had planned on presenting for this years program. However, the good thing about strategic work is that you generally have an idea months in advance and just allow it to simmer for a while until the time is right to deliver a completed product. In the case of the parameters for the 2018 Christian Acappella Music Awards, much of the heavy lifting was done long ago on various evenings when a thought would come to me and I would do some jotting. In that it’s now September, the show is starting to come together the way it was initially envisioned, save for the production company whom we have yet to decide on. But, with essentially 2 months to go, we’re pretty much where we want to be from a program/weekend management standpoint. And so, I’ve decided to go ahead and present the parameters for the show in whole.

Luke 6:36-37 – Be ye therefore merciful, as your father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. It’s interesting how, in an effort to grow as disciples, we will work to apply these biblical principles to our life as it relates to everyone but ourselves. As much as we attempt not to judge or condemn others, we often instead beat our own selves up. But, in desiring to grow, we have to realize that forgiveness of others cannot trump forgiveness of self; that, we will never fully grasp the concept of mercy until we are able to apply it to our own heart, growth in the lord requires us to understand that, to esteem others better than ourselves doesn’t mean that we treat ourselves worse than others. It’s a process; be kind to yourself.

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. We’re gonna be remembered for the things we do. As we go from day to day, there will be many who talk loud and seek to distract others with endless hyperbole. Their fruits, however, will tell a different story. If we are patient; if we spend the time cultivating our field, and, we focus on the constant improvement of self, we can know that things work out. At harvest time, we’ll see who was really working. Let them talk, you continue working.
