Once you have a grasp of how confusing and overwhelming online marketing can become, you need to develop a marketing strategy that works for you.

Some of my partners are experts at email marketing, classified ads, forum groups, and social networking, while others are just learning about online marketing and are experimenting with different methods to find what works best for them.

Find the strategy or method that works for you, and then focus all of your effort into becoming an expert in that area.

You should also be aware of the difference between being busy and being productive.

For example, I could post classified ads all day long and feel like I am making progress in my business. But, if my efforts do not produce results, then I am just being busy, and not being productive.

Test the waters and find something that works, and then do it. Don’t allow yourself to become distracted by the “next best marketing tool.” And be careful how you spend your money.

Many people believe the shortcut to success in network marketing is to spend a ton of money on marketing tools, and believe me, when you get involved in online marketing, this is easy to do. Be careful. Go slow, and by all means, if there is a free way to do something online, try it before you start throwing money at it.

Internet Marketing Tip #4

Whether you decide to buy your way into fast results, or simply want to try the free methods, the key to success is consistency.

Success in network marketing takes both time and effort, and this is true for both paid and free marketing methods.

Do something everyday to move your business forward. For example, if you have had success with posting classified ads, then post at least one new ad every day. If you like forum groups or social networking, then participate in your groups and strive to provide something of value to your groups.

Internet Marketing Tip #5

Finally, you must recognize that there is a learning curve involved in online marketing. You have to “earn your spurs” in this business, and while there are tools and tutorials that can accelerate this process, you will have to spend time in the trenches learning basic skills like:

• building a blog
• writing articles
• creating a brand for yourself on various social networking sites
• building an opt in list for your email marketing campaigns

This does not mean you need to tackle everything at once. In fact, I highly recommend you do not do that. Start with something you can understand and do daily, and then grow from there.

For example, you can join an active forum group, create your profile, and start contributing to the conversation. As an active member, your signature beneath each of your posts will begin to drive traffic to your opportunity.

How To Write Articles to Boost Traffic to Your Website, Blog, and Online Opportunity

Let’s face it, when it comes to online marketing, traffic is king.

Of course, if you’ve operated a computer long enough to send or receive an email, you know that already. The trick to getting that coveted traffic is a different story, however, and volumes of tips, secrets, strategies, and other ideas have been published on how to do it.

The beauty of article marketing is that once your articles are in place – presumably with a decent resource box or link to your website – any traffic you receive to that website is essentially free.

No pay-per-click, no banner ads, and no classifieds. Just pure, unadulterated, free organic traffic.

Of course, getting that traffic is easier said than done, which is the downfall of article marketing. Let’s be honest…

Producing sufficient quantities of decent content for posting to article directories is a time consuming, laborious task. And I want you to know upfront – I do not use article spinners to produce my material.

I tried an article spinner once and was disappointed. Perhaps the software has improved over time, but as it stands, the majority of “spun” articles turn into gibberish, suitable for search engine spider bots (their main purpose, I believe), but not fit for human consumption.

In the past, I have used some PLR articles in limited forms, but the bulk of my articles came from the fertile fields of my over active imagination.

How To Write Articles – The Process

You start with a blank slate and build a story, hopefully salted with some useful information.

If you are stumped for ideas on how to structure or write an article, here are some suggestions gleaned from two years of experience in the business.

1. Search for Articles Related to Your Area of Interest

Go to your favorite article directory, such as EzineArticles or GoArticles, and do a search for articles related to your area of interest.

For this example, I want to use the subject of dog training. But of course, this same technique will work on any subject. Read four or five articles in this subject area, and then open your word processing program.

I’m going to show you how to write a 7 paragraph article that will get read, and receive click-thrus to your website or product offer.

2. Create Your Outline

Here is what a 7 paragraph article will look like in outline form:

Title

1. Introduction
2. Topic 1
3. Topic 2
4. Topic 3
5. Topic 4
6. Topic 5
7. Conlcusion

Resource Box

3. Putting The Article Together

Start with an article title that relates to your area of interest, such as “5 Killer Ways To Train Your Nasty Dog.” That should get the juices flowing. Now, think of five specific things you believe are good tactics for training a dog.

List these five specific, and very narrow, topics.

Your first sentence should be like a thesis statement. That is, a declarative statement like..

“A dog learns by having the correct behavior immediately reinforced.”

Follow that sentence with a brief explanation of the concept of reinforcement. For example, you could say…

“Dogs are like people in the sense that they want to experience pleasure and avoid pain. By reinforcing the proper behavior, you are able to encourage your dog to repeat that behavior upon command.”

Follow that sentence with an example, such as:

“For example, when your dog correctly follows a command or completes a task, immediately reward him with a small treat or sign of affection.”

Now you have the bones of a complete topic for your article. The final product of this first of five topics looks like this:

” A dog learns by having the correct behavior immediately reinforced. Dogs are like people in the sense that they want to experience pleasure and avoid pain. By reinforcing the proper behavior, you are able to encourage your dog to repeat that behavior upon command. For example, when your dog correctly follows a command or completes a task, immediately reward him with a small treat or sign of affection.”

4. The Introduction and the Conclusion part of this article

What you need to do is to follow this rule…

Tell them what you’re going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them.

Sounds confusing, but here it is again…

a) The Introduction introduces your topic and tells the reader what to expect in the article. So, our introduction for this article may state…

“In this article on dog training I will show you five specific techniques you can start using today to train your dog. Using positive reinforcement, clear commands, consistent methods, repetition, and affection, your dog will change its nasty habits and become the cat’s meow among dog owners worldwide.”

Okay, a bit of hyperbole there, but I hope you see the point.

b) The body of your article is the five topic areas. This is where you actually get around to relating information to your reader. The body of your article delivers on the promises you made in the Introduction.

So, let’s simply restate our main points in the conclusion and wrap this puppy up – with one major thing to consider:

Try to make your last sentence in the article lead the reader into looking at your Resource Box!

c) The conclusion is almost a repeat of the Introduction, where you summarize, or retell them, what was in the body of the article. Here’s a sample Conclusion for this article…

“In this article we discussed the five keys points for successfully training your dog to follow your commands, and behave while in public or when around strangers. But this just scratches the surface on the subject of dog training. To become an expert in dog training, take a look at the links and resources available in my Resource Box below.”

5. Your Resource Box

In many article directories the only chance you will get to blow your own horn, and hopefully drive traffic to your website, is in the resource box. Here is the biggest mistake I see people making with their Resource Box…

They fail to enter their link as both a clickable hyperlink, and the complete URL.

This is important because people will publish or share your article in ways that may not make the clickable link clickable.

So, if you say…

“Visit the Dog Training College for details on how your dog can be transformed into an obedient puppy.”

The phrase “Visit the Dog Training College” is clickable on the original article directory’s website, it may not be clickable when emailed or posted on another website. So, in addition to using clickable links, add the full URL to your website in the resource box.

Also, forget using your resource box to talk about. Talk about the benefits of visiting your website, and then give them the link. That is the true purpose of a resource box.

Here are a few pointers on sharpening your article:

• Build transition statements into your article to ease the flow from paragraph to paragraph
• Use keyword focused content to increase your chances of being found online
• Add some humor or anecdotes to your article to make it more user friendly

Rewrite PLR Articles For Your Article Marketing Needs

When you buy PLR articles (Private Label Rights) you are buying a package of pre-written articles that you may use to do whatever you wish with.

These articles by themselves are generally written directly for a specific niche, but PLR packages vary from single niches to a variety of topics.

People who buy PLR articles may use them for article marketing, content for blogs, content for e-mail newsletters, and much more.

Generally speaking, niche PLR articles by themselves are not a good investment if you are planning to just copy and paste. The reason behind this is that unless you buy a package that specifically states it is only being sold for sole ownership, and that no one else will be using the pre-written niche articles, they are duplicate content.

Using them in e-mail newsletters or as filler space in an otherwise original unique location is OK, but using them as the sole driving force of bringing traffic to your website will rarely prove successful.

When You Buy PLR Articles, You Are Buying Content

The reason for this is that when you buy PLR articles, 9 times out of 10 they are being sold world wide in bulk packages, and thousands of people are using the same articles.

By the time you go to use any of them, there are already thousands of results in Google and other search engines for the exact same thing. Search engines will discount your article, and your webpage or URL will be discounted from the search engines.

When you buy a large package of PLR articles you will generally receive hundreds or thousands of pages of content. The first thing to do is to go through, and pull out the bulk of the pages you want to work on.

Doing this will make your process go faster when you go to look for what page of content you will re-write next.

Do not delete the articles you do not want to use, just ignore them – you may change your mind. Instead, create a separate folder and name it accordingly for your niche or something that signifies this is your working folder. When you are done you can choose your first article.

How To ReWrite PLR Articles Using A Layout

With your first article in front of you, open a new page in a word processor such as Word or Notepad. Save a new copy of the article so that the original is always available. Now you are ready to get started.

With your PLR article ready for editing and your keyword(s) already researched and ready for use, start by creating SEO friendly aspects to the article. The first stage of re-writing will be to set up a layout for which to use for your article.

Article Layout

Bold Title With Main Keyword(s)

Subtitle with secondary keyword(s)

One to two paragraphs using 1 to 2 secondary keywords in bold or italic.

Subtitle with another secondary keyword(s)

One paragraph with bullet points to highlight key facts

• bullet point 1 using secondary keyword
• bullet point 2 using main keyword
• bullet point 3 using another secondary keyword

Subtitle with another secondary keyword(s)

One to two paragraphs using 1 to 2 secondary or main keywords in bold or italic.

Conclusion

One to two paragraphs using your main keyword in bold or italic at the end of the last sentence.

Rewrite PLR Articles Your Way

After your layout has the desired keywords layed out, you are now ready to get started. One way to rewrite PLR articles is to cut and paste portions of the article to fit within the subtitles that correspond to it. Grab either sentances, entire paragraphs, or ideas.

Once you have chopped the original PLR article into your new article layout, you are ready to begin re-writing. Because the very best content is completely original content, your best option is to completely re-write the article sentence by sentence. One of the easiest ways to do this is to reformat the sentence using the exact same idea, and substitute words whenever they make sense. This is actually quite easy. For example I will re-write this paragraph.

After your brand new layout for your PLR article is cut and pasted, beginning the re-writing steps are simple. Unique content is considered the best content and you will want to re-write the article completely, sentence by sentence. Changing the paragraph with substituting words where applicable and reformatting the sentence completely by restructuring is the easiest way. Quite easy don’t you think? This is the re-written paragraph to show you as an example.

Why Use PLR Articles If You Still Have To Re-Write Them?

Seems silly to buy PLR articles if you are just going to have to re-write them, right?

One some level it is, but if you are stuck and feeling a “writers block”, having a selection of articles already written that need nothing more then sentence restructuring can be the best and easiest cure.

Not only does it give the content producer relevant niche work to keep going, but it can help to eliminate the “writers block” by keeping the content writer going, and the mind working until they are ready to create from their own mind.

How To Write A Good Article Title That Demands Attention

It will not matter how good your content is in your article if your article title doesn’t get any attention in the search engines results.

So, in order to get attention to your article, you need to do two things when you are brainstorming an article title:

1. Article title needs to appeal to the average search engine user that is looking for something specific

To get the attention of targeted search engine traffic, you want people to see a title that sticks out and demands attention by every single person that is looking for information that will be found in your article.

Your title should be descriptive, to the point, and catchy.

2. Article title needs to appeal to the search engines themselves

You want your article to rank well in search engines and once there, you want targeted search engine traffic to feel compelled to click on your article over any other.

To get the search engine’s attention you want to use a title that will emphasize your main article keyword. Search engine spiders will also be looking at the text in the article body, but your title does play a large key role in getting ranked on the search engine.

Search engines are looking for short titles. Limiting your title to 60 characters is a good rule of thumb. Search engines will also take into account the strength of the keywords in the title.

If your main keywords are overshadowed by 5 unnecessary words it will hurt your search engine rankings. Leave the explanation of the article to the article body.

How To Design Your Perfect Article Title

Start out with your main article keyword(s)

Make it a point to get this as close to the start of the title as possible. It does not have to be your first words, but close to it. A good rule of thumb is to offer three things with your title.

Your main keyword – what your article is about, and describing words that gives your article eye-grabbing attention. Starting your article with your main keyword is a great way to grab the eye of the skim reader who is just glancing through titles to find something interesting. Use words that say “my main keyword article is about this”.

Beginning an article with your main keyword is always a positive move if it fits with the flow of the rest of the title. Search engines look highly on a page that starts with the main keywords, and readers will see their words they are looking for faster when they are closer to the right hand side of the screen because that is where our eyes are trained to start reading.

I find it easiest that when using the main keyword as the first part of the article, to separate it from the rest of the title. Make the keyword be the focus, and the rest of your title support your keyword using action and adjective words that hook the search engine user into clicking on your link.

Another tactic commonly used by article writers is the Q&A method. Readers often click on titles that pose a question because they are looking for an answer something they don’t already know.

• 10 Methods…

Tips, Tricks, Things, Benefits, Keys, Signs, Great, and Suggestions are some other words that work well for list articles.

Grab Attention With Descriptive Adjectives

Describing your article with adjectives improves your click through rate (CTR) in search engines. They take a standard boring title, and make it stick out from everything else available on a search engine page.

Looking at the following examples you will see why the title with adjectives will usually get picked even if located a spot or two below the standard main keyword title in search results.

Remember not to get carried away with your adjectives. Follow the “less then 60 characters” rule so that your title does not risk getting cut off in the search engine results.

Using adjectives also help to actually keep a title short. Because you are using only one or two describing words instead of to many filler words that take away from the SEO of the title.

For search engine ranking purposes, many may find luck with sticking to the standard main keywords as it may find itself ranking higher in search engines the the title with adjectives.

For SEO focused content writers, choosing adjectives can be considered a no-no because it breaks up the long tail keyword string (ex: “How To Buy Men’s Leather Sandals” would be the long-tail keywords).

However, on a search engine result page full of articles that all are titled the same thing, the describing title will mostly likely grab the human eye better. Because the human has a credit card, not the search engine spider, find a balance with your titles.

Pay attention to SEO title rules while considering your target audience.

This is no perfect answer or magic formula for what the best title will be for your article. Use your discretion, your imagination and your best judgement to choose the article title that works best for you.

Blogging has been around for a while now. For those of you who may not be familiar with the meaning of the term ‘blog’, it is short for weblog.

Usually, blogs are single page articles (or blog posts) which are updated on a regular basis.

They concentrate around an interest, or specialized niche, and quite often reflect the individuality of the author.

Types of Blogs

You can find various kinds of blogs:

• journal blogs
• travel blogs
• business blogs
• information blogs
• art blogs
• “just for fun” blogs

Regardless of the purpose and topic, blogs usually serve the purpose of providing people with selective information they are looking for about a particular topic, and providing an answer in that area of interest.

Starting a blog can be not only fun, but very satisfying, as you discover many other people have similar interests and needs that are met through the information provided in your blog.

Finding A Topic For Your Blog

First of all, when looking at starting a blog, you need a topic, or niche market that you are going to blog about. Let me explain a little bit further…

A niche market is when a business, or individual, specializes in a smaller part of an overall market.

For example, Internet marketing is a market. Internet marketing can be broken down further into sub niches. For example, affiliate marketing, video marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), or network marketing.

Let’s take affiliate marketing. This niche area of the Internet marketing market can be broken down even more, and you might specialize in using videos to attract visitors to your blog(s) and affiliate offers.

In that way, rather than targeting the large, and highly competitive market of Internet marketing, you break it down until you come up with a specialized niche market with less competition, and more probability of attracting people interested specifically in products and services you are affiliated with.

When establishing a niche market, you want one that is a ‘growing market’, or trend, and one that is commercially viable. That is, one where there is a demand, and that offers something to fulfill people’s needs.

Usually something that will solve a problem for people. Sounds a little bit confusing at first I know, but once you start looking, and researching, it becomes a lot clearer.

Starting A Blog

So now we get down to the exciting part. By doing keyword research, this will help you find a topic, or niche area to blog about. A good topic to start blogging about, is to choose something you enjoy, are passionate about, and have some knowledge on.

Keyword research is a large topic in itself, and you will find more information regarding keyword research in this site.

You will need to then decide on a name for your site. Once you have decided on the name, the next step is to set up your blog.

There are a couple of ways you can go about this:

• Register with free site to create a blog website, such as WordPress.com, Blogger.com, or any other social networking sites

• Register a domain name if you are wanting to have a ‘self hosted’ blog. That being a blog you have full control over through a web hosting company

• Another way is to have a starter blog built for you. If you are new to the world of blogging, this could be a good way to go. Starting a blog this way, can get you set up with your own domain name and basic site, very quickly.

I’ve been using WordPress for a couple of years now and it’s gone from a geek’s play thing to an incredible professional blogging platform which is suitable for big professional sites, but is still easy to use for the beginner.

Why WordPress is the Best Blogging Platform for Beginners?

There are many reasons why WordPress is the best blogging platform today:

• Whether you use a free service like WordPress.com or you want to own your self-hosted blog – the price for the WordPress blogging platform is the same: $0

• WordPress is easy to use – if you can use Microsoft Word you will find WordPress a lot easier! You can choose whether to write your posts off line in a text editor – but the online editor will work for many people offering automatic formatting, spell check and built in word count
