I’m starting to really dislike automakers’ efforts in marketing in-vehicle hard disks. Stop trying to change the way people use technology! People already have iPods or other personal players, why force them to use something else?and to top it all off, when you wreck your car or sell it, your music library goes with it! Please stop it and build in USB ports and systems that suppers handheld devices… I’m looking at you, Toyota and Lexus!!!

So… we changed out our AC today and now that I’m back home, I’m locked OUT of my bathroom. Apparently, one of the AC guys locked the door from the inside and then closed it after walking out. At least I hope that’s the case, as I don’t know what I will do if he’s still in there… scary!

I’m not sure why so many fail to understand this, but the end result of competition does not always have to result in the proverbial death of one of the competitors. In fact, they may coexist for long periods of time, sometimes indefinetely. Examples? Apple and Microsoft, Ford and GM (although the latter is somewhat in organic)…

Just downloaded Logitech’s amazing iTouch app. Simply put, it transforms your iPod Touch/iPhone into a wireless mouse and keyboard via Wi-Fi. All you need to do is download a tiny little applet that runs in the background for your Mac or PC and the app does the rest! I’m actually typing this on my iPhone and its getting carried over to the screen of my MacBook Pro! So now I’ll hit the “Create post” button on the MacBook’s scren using the iPhone as the touch controller - and it will be published! Awesome job Logitech!

Shutter Island = very good movie. Don’t listen to all the naysayers- go see it for yourself. And if you’re looking for another great movie to watch at home, check out 12. It’s a Russian movie with English subtitles, but it’s very much worth it!

Here’s to all those who think Twitter replaces RSS: that’s only true if (and only if) you’ve carefully cultivated your Twitter following. Guess how many mainstream users tale the time to do this? I’d venture to guess that it’s not very many. So RSS > Twitter when it comes to receiving news and information from trusted sources. At least I can expect a certain level of quality from the sites I read through RSS… can you say the same of Twitter?

So I finally broke down and got the unlimited texting plan for my iPhone. This is after almost a year of being on the lowest plan and resorting to the (free) AIM and Yahoo Messenger apps to do my instant mobile communication. That said, I’m still of the opinion that text messaging (especially MMS) must be replaced by newer, more efficient, and more flexible technology such as instant messaging, especially when it can be used across all devices (mobile, computer, TV) rather than being locked to one device (the phone).

And in case you’re wondering what pushed me over the edge… It was the $150 texting overage for the last billing period. Lucky for me, AT&T reversed the charges and charged me for the unlimited plan instead.
