Peru with The Kula Collective

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Fri, 20 Jan 2017 19:12:00 +0000

As part of my trip to Peru I connected with The Kula Collective to travel a bit and also make a film for them documenting the Facilitator Intensive that they offer as part of their teachings. We first headed up into the mountains of Lares to go for a hike and visit the hot springs. On the way we stopped in Calca to get supplies at the market.

The facilitator intensive that Zach and Jessi put together in the Sacred Valley was really great with an awesome group. Here's the video that I produced for them:

We hiked to a sacred ruins site just above the retreat that we stayed at.

Cusco, Peru

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Fri, 20 Jan 2017 18:49:00 +0000

Cusco, Peru- When I first got to Cusco I headed right to the Plaza de Armas. They just happened to be having a parade to celebrate Virgen de Navidad. All the vibrant colors of dress were amazing.

I then met up with Jaya Saraswati to create some images and a short film to promote their album.

It's wild that a city such as Cusco exists above 11,000 ft elevation.

International Noise Conference 2016

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Thu, 18 Feb 2016 20:10:00 +0000

Miami, FL- Loud. Experiemental. Weird. Amazing. Terrible. All things you could say about International Noise Conference. There's nothing quite like Churchill's during INC. Here are my favorites from the week and you can view the full gallery and a review by David Rolland at New Times.

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Mon, 07 Dec 2015 17:30:00 +0000

Miami, FL- Art Basel is definitely one of my favorite weeks of the year in Miami. The city fills with colorful and interesting people from all across the world and there are so many things going on all over the city. I love being able to use the art as a background or have people interact with it. It was long week and I was all over the place. Here are some favorites from the week and you can see the full slideshow over at New Times.

Miami, FL- It was fun times by all as the Fort Miami Women's Rugby team faced off against each other in a pool of jello. The crowd at Churchills was ruckus and contestants were fierce. I had to shoot some video to truly capture the action. Check out the full gallery over at Miami New Times.

Kraftwerk at the Olympia Theater 9-29-15

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Wed, 30 Sep 2015 15:39:00 +0000

Miami, FL- German dance pioneers Kraftwerk brought their 3D performance to Miami for the first time. The Olympia Theater in downtown Miami is a beautiful venue and it's great to see more shows being booked at the venue. There were so many cool backgrounds to choose from, but here are my favorites and you can view the full gallery and review over at New Times.

Purity Ring at The Fillmore Miami Beach 9-11-15

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Mon, 14 Sep 2015 19:37:00 +0000

Miami Beach, FL- I've shot for years at The Fillmore Miami Beach and for the first time there wasn't a photo pit. It was cool to have the opportunity to shoot around the venue through the show. I got to get some angles and perspectives that I wouldn't normally get at the Fillmore. I shot almost the whole show with my telephoto lens. Purity Ring also had a great stage set up with some cool lighting visuals. Here are some favorites from the night and you can view the full gallery and review over at New Times.

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Tue, 18 Aug 2015 04:47:00 +0000

Miami, FL- I have to say that of all the hip hop shows that I have photographed, Travi$ Scott brings the most raw energy during performances. A sold out Grand Central responded and as he mentioned, the crowd was "lit". Here are some favorites and you can see the full slideshow over at New Times.

Where's Wall Street?

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Mon, 27 Jul 2015 19:17:00 +0000

New York City, New York- I recently visited my brother who lives in the financial district of New York City. I was struck by the repetition of what the people of Wall Street were wearing. Business attire. Similar colors. Safe for a business professional. Briefcase or backpack. There is a certain look to those that work on wall street. I decided to focus on capturing the patterns I saw. To capture the people of Wall Street on their commute. Head down. Focused on their phone. They have somewhere to go. Among others they can blend in or stand out from a crowd. I am calling this series "Where's Wall Street?"

Greece Celebrates NO Vote in Syntagma Square

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Mon, 06 Jul 2015 15:45:00 +0000

Athens, Greece- I just so happened to be in Athens for a production during the referendum vote for Greece on wether to continue with the austerity measures of the EU. With a NO vote the Greeks are making a stand for what they believe in. Even with the future of Greece uncertain it truly was a celebration in Syntagma Square when the results were announced.

Traktor Cookery at The Red Bull Guest House

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Tue, 07 Apr 2015 20:46:00 +0000

Miami Beach, FL- I was hired by Native Instruments to photograph the Traktor Cookery and a couple press events that revealed the D2 Deck Controller and new file format called Stems. They are doing some cool stuff with Traktor and I really think the idea of Stems is going to change DJing a lot. Stems gives a DJ the ability to have control of up to 4 elements of a track at once. You are able to mix using the stems instead of volume and EQ. Apparently DJ's can cook because the food was great for each Cookery event.

Lil Wayne at Revolution 3-21-15

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Mon, 23 Mar 2015 19:53:00 +0000

Ft. Lauderdale, FL- Lil Wayne left fans very disappointed after having the crowd wait past 3 AM for him to arrive to only perform 3 songs. If the night was billed as an "appearance" at a nightclub and not as a "performance" at a concert venue, I think things would of been perceived differently. I lost all respect for Lil Wayne after he had a thug from his entourage go into the crowd and sucker punch a guy who had been booing. You can check out the full review and slideshow over at New Times.

Rolling Loud Music Festival

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Wed, 04 Mar 2015 16:29:00 +0000

Miami, FL- Rolling Loud had a stacked line up, but was a nightmare to photograph. Security was absent for most of the day and I photographed in a photo pit of kids with cell phones snap chatting away. At one point I couldn't move as people hopped the barricade into the pit. It has become more and more difficult to get photographs with out people on their phones. If I have a great shot where someone in the photo isn't even paying attention and looking down at their phone I'll often pass on it. All that stuff comes with the job and you have to get your shots. I was happy to be able to get portraits of Curren$y and Action Bronson. Here are some favorites and you can see the full gallery and review over at New Times.
