For the past year and a half, producer Christa Orth and I have been collaborating on a documentary about the first theme park in the U.S., Santa’s Workshop. I kickstarted this band because they are 8-bit music ninjas. And for the video they sent pizza into space! Glad to play my tiny, tiny part in making that happen.

There’s an excellent review about United in Anger over on Pretty Queer right now, calling it “the story my generation has been waiting to see”. While editing the film, I felt the same way. My generation, while only a few years younger than the college-aged activists in the movie, came out into in a complete different landscape where the LGBTQ movement was being co-opted by corporate interests. Now a number of LGBTQ youth are raised to believe that marriage is the only problem facing their generation and my hope is that the movie will inspire them to embrace the radicalism that is necessary for real, long-lasting change.

If you haven’t caught a screening yet, tickets are on sale now for United in Anger’s week long theatrical run here in NYC at the Quad Cinema July 6th to 12th.

I’ve been editing this film since the summer and today we released the trailer. It’s directed by Jim Hubbard, and produced by Jim Hubbard and Sarah Schulman and it’s been 10 years in the making. Beyond excited for everyone to see this film!
