Do you ever find a product that just takes you to another time and place the minute you use it? Where just turning it on brings a wave of nostalgia and gives you warm and fuzzy feelings? The 3M™ mobile projector did that for me! I may have squealed when I opened it, and again when I started it up. It just takes me back to days where people would sit around watching old home movies on a sheet

Doug: Moses what did you learn about in church today?

Moses:  We learned about Jesus healing the leopard seals.

This post has been swirling in my head for some time.

I think, and hope, it will be a friendly reminder or heads up for everyone, myself included.  It is not meant to sound arrogant or self-righteous in any way...because I need to remember these things as much as the next person.

I realize that I am not the author of THE most popular blog out there, I know there are tons out there that

The glassware of choice in this house is the mason jar.  It's simple, easy to replace, durable and goes with all the dishes.  We are still working our way out of the every cup needs a lid phase of life with little ones...because if they don't have a lid...

This inevitably happens.  On purpose and on naughty.  Yep.

Finally, I could take it no more...with lots of nudges from the Instagram

Moses' class is having its end of the year party tomorrow...guess how I spent my morning?

I love that a series of simple tricks can make for a good result.   At least I think the result is good.

Freeze and bake sugar cookies...pre-made fondant...cookie cutters and fresh cookie frosting (from scratch).

Also, edible markers are fun!  Have you tried them?
Much easier than I thought...

We're nearly home from a visit up north where we were able to surprise Doug's mom and grandparents for Mother's day.  Doug's grandparents are both 90 so each and every visit is a precious one.

During this visit, I asked Grandpa what his favorite story is, so that Doug could record him telling it (thank you iPhone!).  He proceeded to tell us a story about a time where he was heading home

I don't know what's wrong with my brain but clearly there is something.  Why else would I suddenly NEED to complete my nephews quilt precisely at the most frantic time of my life in the last few years?   But I did it.  I set a goal for three days (because I need a crazy deadline) and went to work.

It may be my best work...and I am thankful that a nice wash and tumble in the dryer makes up

Last week I solved a simple, little, annoying problem.
My boys (and I) like Pez dispensers.  But like stuffed animals and gremlins, if you leave them alone in a room together, they WILL multiply.  They were everywhere and there was no reigning them in.

I spied this idea in Family Fun magazine and I knew I'd be making one...or two.

I got a HUGE oval quilting hoop from Joann for about

I've been asked by BlogHer and Huggies to take some walks down memory lane and explore some (what I think will be) FUN subjects surrounding babies and having them and getting ready for them and all the fun stuff that goes with THEM! I volunteered for this series for selfish reasons...I think it will be a great way to document some thoughts and feelings that maybe I haven't before but should

I've decided that anything hiding an oreo is good stuff.
You won't be disappointed if you make these.  Not a chance.

All you need is Oreos, peanut butter cups (the normal sized ones may
work better but I already had the little ones on hand), brownie mix
(mixed up according to directions on the box), a package of "break and bake" cookie dough and muffin tins.

Smush one cookie dough

We have three Goodwill stores in our area.  Throughout the week I will pop into each one at least once.  Sometimes there is nothing but junk.  Other times, all of my searching and looking pays off.

Yesterday, we popped into my favorite Goodwill.  I spied this HUGE box of what appeared to be a random assortment of Christmas decorations.  All I could see was what you see above but with a

Moses had a school field trip this week.  It was the BEST field trip ever!!  We had so much fun.  There were cows, baby goats, chickens, donkeys and all sorts of fun things to learn.  Aaron got to tag along, too!  The whole day made me feel very fortunate that Moses has gotten to spend these two years at such a wonderful school.  We will surely miss it!!

I saw this idea months ago on Pinterest...but every link that I found led to a swing set company.  Boo!!!  A quick search there will show you the link that I am talking about.  I just knew that I could make one myself and that my boys would love it!  Both turned out to be true!  Want to make one?

You need:
a skateboard (I waited to find one at goodwill and scored this one for $3!!)

My robins came back this year.  You can see last years photos HERE.

Four eggs!

They all hatched day after day...one..

...two...

 ...three...

They were doing really well.  Until one afternoon I had to chase a cat out of our yard.  :(

Then this little guy was all that was left...and he didn't make it either.

So sad but so beautiful at the same time.

Hi friends!
Children's Allegra® and BlogHer have asked me to share how I, the mother of children with allergies, have learned over time to distinguish a run-of-the-mill cold from allergies and how using Children's Allegra has helped us to combat the latter! I was compensated for this post but the opinions here are my own.

My kids are 5 and 3 so I've been at this for a few years, I'm hoping

I am posting this for one reason: to refer Aaron to one day, when he has kids that are making him crazy and his memory is foggy about how crazy he made us.

Last night, Aaron decided to see what would happen when he put Doug's toothbrush in the toilet.  And then he peed on it.  You know, just because that's what an imp does.  NBD.

This post may ruffle your feathers a bit.  It's being written because mine are a bit ruffled...again, but I am writing in defense of mothers like me everywhere.

I thought I would whip up a little tutorial for these sweet little nests...because they are much easier than you think and Mother's Day is just around the corner.  Make one for your ma, grandma and all your girlfriends.  :)

You can use any and all color of beads and wire.

Here is what you need:
20-22 gauge wire-both produce a little different look
small beads that will fit on your wire
