Gmail App For iOS Returns to App Store – Download Now!

The official native Gmail App has returned to the App Store promising to resolve the issues that had plagued the first version.

After appearing in the App Store approximately two weeks ago, and for only moments, the first native Gmail App was pulled due to obvious glitches. For one, the app showed an error message immediately after opening.

Although you could override the message, your push notifications did not work, rendering the app useless. Many were surprised that the app passed Apple’s verifications tests, while some conspiracy theorist believed that Apple noticed the errors, but passed it through anyway.

The new release has apparently fixed the notification problem. Although the app is limited and will only allow you to link to one account at a time, it may prove useful if you are a frequent user of the labels and search features. As an added bonus, your chats are also viewable through your app, if you choose to save them, anyway.

Since I missed the first opening window, I was quick to download the official app the second time around. For some reason I was unable to find it through the App Store from my iPhone. I managed to find it directly from iTunes on my Mac and through the wonderful mechanics of the iCloud, was installed on the rest of my iDevices. Don’t worry, you can’t download the app through the link below!
The update comes with a warning for those using the previous version of the Gmail app:

“If you already have Gmail app 1.0.1 released on 2 Nov, you will need to uninstall or log out of the old app prior to installing the new app.”

If you read your emails casually once or twice a day, or even less frequently, the app may not be for you. You will receive the notification alert each time a new piece of email comes in. For those that need to know the moment the email comes in, the app will prove essential.
Upon testing the app, I noticed new emails would not load on my notification menu. If you hear the generic text message alert and don’t have a text message, it’s probably your Gmail app. It confused me at first so be sure to change your text message alert if you’d like to tell the notifications apart. I don’t believe this is a programming error, but rather a security feature.

Be sure to check out the native Gmail app for yourself, and remember to prevent any more glitches with the newer app by removing the old one.

Apple Working With Sharp on iTV

Apple’s relationship with Samsung has deteriorated, and the Cupertino giant may be working with Sharp on the next generation displays for upcoming devices such as the iPad 3, iPhone 5 and a little something called iTV, claims Jefferies analyst Peter Misek.

Since all of these products are unofficial and unannounced, such predictions fall into the realm of speculation. However, Misek claims that the mythical iTV – a future “smart TV” product from Apple that has been the subject of many recent rumors – is a real thing, and Sharp is working on modified amorphous TFT LCD panels for the device.

Furthermore, he suggests that iTV might be ready for commercial production by February 2012, which could mean a possible release date in mid-2012. Earlier rumors suggested a late 2012-2013 release date.
We’ve looked closely at the possible iTV scenarios, and we aren’t sure that such a device will see the light of day next year – or even that it should see the light of day in the near future. To give its customers a full TV experience, Apple would have to come up with a remote that supports its other consumer electronics devices, and give up a part of the interface control to other parties, such as cable companies.
There’s always the possibility that Apple is working on something revolutionary – as revolutionary as the iPhone, perhaps – which would likely make other TV manufacturers cringe in pain. “Other TV manufacturers have begun a scrambling search to identify what iTV will be and do (…) Mainstream TV manufacturers are likely to be at least 6 to 12 months behind in a best-case scenario,” says Misek.
It’s possible, but it will likely take a lot more than a LCD panel from Sharp, however advanced and beautiful it may be, to make it happen.

The system also monitors a pilot's brainwaves, pulse and other bodily functions to discover if they have necessary nerve. Back in September, CERN dropped the improbable news about its faster-than-light neutrinos, causing eggheads worldwide to cry foul. Understandable really, as if true, a lot of what we think we know about the universe essentially falls apart. So, expect severe bouts of head-scratching once more, as a second round of experiments from the same OPERA collaborative has reported similar results. The initial experiments used a long chain of neutrinos, fired from point A to B. Skeptics claimed that this might have introduced an element of uncertainty to the results -- the new tests used much shorter blasts, meaning that if they arrived just as quickly, then this potential cause for error is scratched out. The new data still needs to undergo the usual peer review, and other possible causes for error remain. For now though, it looks like one of the main arguments against has been addressed, making the Einstein-challenging neutrinos one step closer (or is that ahead?) to re-writing the rule book.

Have you installed Windows and Ubuntu in dual boot?

If yes, you might have installed Windows First and the Ubuntu, which is a good way of doing it.

In case you have already Installed Windows on your computer, then you have another good options to install Ubuntu inside windows without formatting hard disk using Wubi Installer.
But the problem is when you have Ubuntu installed already and then you install Windows on it.

On installing Windows on top of Ubuntu, Windows removes the ubuntu boot-loader called grub and replaces it with windows boot loader.

In this case, you will not be able to boot into Ubuntu.

To fix this issue, we will tell you how to install the ubuntu boot-loader called grub on top of windows boot-loader so that you can boot into windows or ubuntu whenever you like.

Solution:

For this you will need a Ubuntu live CD. Download the ubuntu live CD image and burn the CD.

You can also order the ubuntu CDs by mail for free, but it will take a few weeks.

Follow the below steps :

1. Once you have the ununtu live CD ready,
boot your computer with this CD.

2. On first menu, select the language > English.

3. Select the option called “Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer”. This will launch ubuntu in live mode.

4. Once it loads the Ubuntu desktop,
go to Menu > Accessories > Terrminal.
This will open a prompt window.

5. On this prompt window, type command “sudo grub” without the quotes and press enter key.
This will show a grub prompt.

6. On grub prompt type “find /boot/grub/stage1” without quotes and press enter key.
This will show a output like this one “(hd1,4)” or something like that, note down the output you see on a piece of paper, its very important that u note it correctly else it will mess up the next steps.
Lets assume you get something like “(hdx,y)”, where x is hard disk number and y is partition number which varied from computer to computer.

7. Now type “root (hdx,y)” without quotes and press enter.

8. Now type “setup (hdx)” without quotes and press enter.

9. After some processing you will see a message which says “Done”. After this, simply type “quit” and press enter.

10. Turn off the Ubuntu live session, remove the CD from CD tray, and your grub will be back. Now you can Run Windows Or Linux from the boot options.
