I'm fed up. I've had it up to here with scammers swooping in and luring unsuspecting newbies to social media over to the "dark side" of social media marketing. In the same way that email scam marketers grabbed thousands of emails addresses from unsuspecting Internet users to hawk unwanted and often pornographic wares, the new wave of social media marketing scammers are preying on the desire of every new Twitter user to be "popular" and "successful." And they are making a bad name for the reputable, thoughtful and legitimate marketers.

Still I - along with fellow Twitterers - have been engaged in a communications coup that in part helped lead to a groundswell of international support and awareness of the Iran election protests.
