Prom 2015

This past weekend was PROM!

We did not go in a very large group but it was a good size and everyone had a lot of fun.

It was held at Crew Stadium (known as Mapfre Stadium) and my sister's helped plan it, so it was all the more fun to enjoy.

Two Snow Days?

Earlier this year, we got little to no snow, and even on Christmas Day, is was definitely not a white Christmas.

Only a short two weeks later, we have been out on snow days two times this week. The snow has been beautiful and I had fun capturing this picture below :)

Chautauqua

Every winter my family goes up to our lake house to snowboard and ski.

We took a trip to the institution near our house and although the weather wasn't perfect, it's still a fun place!

Detroit

This weekend, because my dad's work had a holiday party, me and my twin traveled up to Detroit, Michigan. Meanwhile, my two other sisters stayed back with a friend of theirs.

He has an apartment in a small town outside of Detroit. They decorate the area with various decorations that are festive for the season or upcoming holidays.

A midst this small town, is this modern-looking restaurant that we stumbled upon. Super cool looking but also super random...

I thought this was cute, because Christmas is quickly approaching. A little Santa's mail box and elves workshop!

Christmas Sneak-Peek

Every year around Thanksgiving time, my family and I go to see the trees. There's a if exhibit of Christmas trees decorated in various different ways.

As you can see, I had some fun taking panoramas.

The trees are decorated, put on display, and sold to people who are interested.

First Snowfall

This past week was our first snowfall. Global warming has done crazy things to weather this year, considering it isn't even Thanksgiving break and it skipped from summer weather straight to winter!

As you can see, there hasn't been much more snow since the blizzard that occurred on Tuesday.

Of course, now since it's the weekend I'm able to relax by a candle with some hot chocolate and a book. It's the first time I'm able to relax over the weekend without stressing out about the amount of homework I have! Since it's almost Thanksgiving break, I don't have much left to do, that's one thing I am thankful for.

Barn Time

Yesterday, my twin Kim made her weekly trek up to her barn to visit our horse. This week, I decided to accompany her.

During this time of the year, the barn is beautiful with all of the fall colors and beautiful estate near the barns.

This is Lucy. My family bought Lucy when my twin began riding at the end of last year. On occasion, I try (hence try) riding Lucy. People usually think that riding a horse is easy and leisurely, which it can be. In my sisters case, riding a hose competitively is nothing to sneeze at. I'm not going to lie, after my first lesson, I was incredibly sore. I gained a lot more respect for riders after that, that's for sure!

This is the main barn. It houses a majority of the horses, but because of the vast amount of boarders at the barn, they have other barns to keep the overflow horses.

Here's the indoor arena. Kim often rides in here because 1. it is larger than the outdoor arena, and 2. the weather won't affect them.

This is my friend's horse, Olano. She leases Olano, unlike my family who owns Lucy. Olano sticks out his tongue like this whenever he wants a treat!

The Scholarship Walk

This year marked the 43rd annual Scholarship Walk. At my school, we hold this scholarship walk in order to raise money for scholarship students at our school. About 25% of the students are on a scholarship, or have some form of financial aid.

We arrive in the morning and are treated with hot chocolate, donuts, bagels, and other sweets before getting a solute from our seniors and entering the trail.

The trail is a six mile loop. Middle schooler's only have to walk/run six miles, but the high school do two six mile loops.

In past years, the students pledged money for how many miles they ran, and the walk/run was much longer. Now, the walk is much shorter and people don't pledge for how many miles they run.

At the 4 and 10 mile mark, we stop at a beautiful balcony looking over the park. There, we are given refreshments and encouragement from parent volunteers.

After much googling, sighing, and almost giving up after trying to find out a name for a blog, it has finally come together. The point of me making this blog, is for me to build an online presence and share with others my amazing, and not so amazing, experiences. First off, I am Steph. I will not blog everyday, but I will update my blog whenever I have something I want to share. I hope you enjoy!
