My Experience Working With Merchant Circle as a Content Writer

I worked with Merchant Circle for about two years as a writer. I never had a problem with getting my work approved in a timely fashion nor did I have any problems with the editors. It was a great experience for me. The company paid on time and would let you know if something happened and PayPal was holding up payments. For me, I always received my money on time. Right now the company is doing major work on remodeling their site. Work is no longer plentiful which makes me have to look for other options to make my side cash. As we all know the Google Panda has hit hard and many freelance writers are suffering, especially those who were use to large PPV payments as well as the constant flow with content sites. The search is on to find something that makes sense and pays the bills. I plan to update my blog with my old writing experiences as well as my new experiences.

My publishing experience through CreateSpace was a lot a learning experience. CreateSpace gives you a lot of forums to ask other individuals questions and get opinions about their publishing experience. The forums are where you will get all of your insight on how to self-publish. I would definitely recommend those looking to publish a book to CreateSpace. Self-publishing is a quick way to get your reading material out to the public fast. When you self-publish with CreateSpace you have to do all the work yourself. You write the material, put the information in PDF and submit it to the company. All the templates are laid out for you to utilize. You can buy your own ISBN or CreateSpace will issue one for you. Now if the company issues you an ISBN you still own all the rights to the book. Some individuals will purchase a small block of ISBN numbers if they plan to publish more books in the future. You can start your own small publishing company by doing this as well. Consider registering your books with the Library of Congress for a small fee. If you want to get your book into public libraries you will have to do this. Getting your book copyrighted, most people think you have to have your book legally copyrighted. Once your book is wrote and put down on paper or hard drive your work is considered legally copyrighted. One easy way to guarantee your book is legally safe from others infringing upon your rights, is to send yourself a copy of your book. Simply package your book take it to the post office and have them mail it to you. When you receive the package don't open it up. Just put it up for safe keeping in case you have to take someone to court for stealing your ideas later down the road. That is your proof that you are indeed the original author of the material dated from the day you published it and the postage mark on the package is proof. Those who choose to self-publish will have to do all the marketing for their book. This means you have to get the word out. It can be a very difficult process. Some may find themselves selling copies of their books from the trunk of their car. But that's okay as long as you get the copies out there. There are ways to promote your book, some of these include getting a car wrap. Some people put the name of their books on their car and drive around town promoting their work. Have a press release, do book signings, and offer free give aways of your book. Self-publishing can be difficult but it can also be self-rewarding to hold your first copy of your book in your hand.

This blog is designed to help individuals get started making money with freelance upfront paying jobs. Yes, you can make money from the comfort of your own home. I would have never believed it if I had not researched and tried it for myself. If you enjoy writing there are some really interesting opportunities out there, which can have you bringing in an enormous size income. I am talking about, pay all your bills type income, and then have some left for a vacation.

The first step is doing your research. Each individual know why they are reaching out into the freelance world. It is either because you enjoy writing to share your knowledge with others, you are seeking an alternative way to make income, and financially grow, or you are just doing it for fun. No matter, what your reason may be; you have to do your research. Knowledge is power. Find out what options you have, whether it is upfront pay sites, pay to blog, residual income, and direct orders. You want to know who, what, where and the how’s. Sometimes, freelance upfront paying jobs can require a lot more of detail to your work. Editors will scrutinize every word,every comma, and how well your paragraphs coincide with one another. Ask your self if freelance writing is worth it to you.

I am new to this myself, so I don’t profess to know everything; there is to know about the freelance world. But, what I do know is a lot of what I am writing here has worked for me.

The first question I had when looking into the freelance world was "How do I get started?" One thing was definitely for sure, I couldn’t afford to write for anyone for free. I did not want to write for any one for free. Each word a person writes is valued at something. Many beginner sites may say .01 cent per word. Yep, you heard me. So, if you thinking about getting rich fast; you need to know now, it is not going to happen. Don’t get discouraged, because this is not why I am putting this blog out here. I just want you to know I been there, done that, and still in the process of figuring this whole thing out.

So, here I will give my opinions, encouragement, advice, and share my insight on various companies, ideas and whatever else I want.

The Best Freelance Upfront Paying Sites: (For those who like to get paid)

Demand Studios. (Be prepared to be critiqued to the max) There are guidelines you have to follow, but this is for any job. So, be prepared to get it right or, have it sent back for a rewrite. I am new to Demand Studios, so I will report back with more details later. The pay over there is really good for the amount of words you have to write. Your first three articles are very important. So, pay close attention to writing them.Demand Studios right now is one of the top Freelance upfront paying job sites online.

BreakStudios. This is a really cool company. I have had the pleasure writing for them and find it to be a very relaxed atmosphere. The wait time for articles to be approved have actually picked up over there. It now varies between 24 and 72 hours. Not to bad. Same goes for Breakstudios with guidelines, they have to be strict ones that have to be followed.

Textbroker. I can truly say I like Textbroker. They gave me my very first start with the freelance world. Over at Textbroker you write as a ghostwriter; this means you are writing material for someone else, and you don’t get the credit for what you write. The pay is extremely low for those who are rated at level 3 and 2. Trust me when I say, I know what it is like to write for pennies. That’s where, I enjoy what I do come into play. You better, because they have some very picky clients, which will send your articles back in a minute. Oh, they are very comma and grammar picky over at Textbroker. I make mistakes, and not ashame to say quite a lot, but I am learning. It's a growing process everyday. There are many people who have been doing it for years and are quite successful at what they do.

Associated Content.Is one of the best sites article sites. It is a great place to begin your freelance writing career. They offer upfront and performance pays. You are also free to write on your own topics.
Constant Content I have poked around a little on this site. I don’t think I will write for them. It seems like it requires more work than I am willing to put into it. But, that is just me. You have to do, what you have to do.

Expert123. This site I am new to, but I like it. You can make money upfront with them. The editorial review time is fast, within 24 hours usually. But, they do ask you give them up to 72hrs. The pay is reasonable and there are many ways to make money with them such as; upfront payments, revenue shares, and they have questions you can answer. Check them out for yourself, like I said I am just getting the hang of them, but you can make money.

Ecopywriter. You can make good money with Ecopywriters. They are similar to Textbroker and you have to stay on top of your grammar, commas,and etc. They are quick to downgrade you. But, they do offer you the chance to upgrade. Their editorial, and client review time can take weeks.

This year is all about the Twist and tear and boogie woogie. I guess it means it's all about making the money. So, let's see what happens. It is time to get to talking and making more connections. Getting use to networking has become a big goal of mine. Will have to post back here when I make more headway. I think it is time to offer my readers another place to get to know me and my work.

I write the way I do because I enjoy making people smile and laugh.Writing has become my passion and it is really something I love. If you look around you, there are stories to write about every day.
