I was sitting at my computer once, listening to something on my headphones, just minding my own business, when there was suddenly a sharp *PING* in my right ear where my headphone was. At the same time, I felt something smack me in the side of the head.

I’m not going to sugar coat it. It hurt.

I whirled around to see what just happened and there stood my son Matthew, smiling and holding a wiffle ball bat.

He had just beaned me with it.

Turns out, his mother encouraged him to come hit me with it. She didn’t tell him to hit me in the head with it, but as much wrestling as we do, he just figured it was fair play.

See, families do this thing called “rough housing.” At least my family does.

So do Pam and Tim Tebow. In their Superbowl ad for Focus on the Family, Tim spears his mom on camera, for laughs:

It’s fun. But the President of the National Organization of Women sees it as domestic violence:

NOW president Terry O’Neill said it glorified violence against women. “I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it,” she said. “That’s what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don’t find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself.”

I guess when you are too busy advocating the destruction of unborn babies, you really don’t have time to have a close family, like the Tebows clearly do.

According to O’Neill’s standards, I am a dsily victim of domestic violence. I am a survivor too. And I say lighten up.

There were a lot of things Bush did towards the end of his presidency that I could not stomach. But, all things considered, I’d take him back.

But then again, having Obama win, coupled with a liberal Democrat Congress has resulted in a very active conservative grassroots movement.
Could be the best thing about Obama’s victory.

You have to be a full on pro-abortion, anti freedom of speech leftist, with just a touch of crazy to find these ads by Tim Tebow and his mom offensive:

I don’t recall hearing the word “abortion” in that ad.

Don’t mess with an old man’s golf cart:

Two would-be thieves didn’t count on a motion alarm and a gun-toting 70-year-old Winter Haven man when they tried to steal the batteries from his golf cart, according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Robert Rowley, of 28 Henry Drive in Winter Haven, awoke to the sound of a motion sensor alarm about 2:15 a.m. Monday.

When the alarm sounded, he grabbed his handgun and flashlight to investigate, sheriff’s reports said.

As he walked outside his home, he saw two men, who investigators said were trying to cut the cables to the battery packs on Rowley’s golf cart.

When he challenged them, one of the men began to walk in Rowley’s direction, he told investigators he tried to scare the men away by firing his gun.

Rowley fired three shots – once in the air, another at the ground and a third at the men’s truck as they tried to quickly get away.

Deputies were later called to Winter Haven Hospital for two men who showed up with gun shot wounds, reports said.

Rest in Peace, Congressman:

Rep. John P. Murtha died Monday at 1:18 p.m. at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.At his bedside was his family.Murtha, 77, was Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense.The 19-term Democrat was the first Vietnam veteran to serve in Congress. He currently leads House Appropriations subcommittee on defense spending. Murtha has been a representative for Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District since 1974.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
