Phillip Phillips is the 21-year-old pawn shop employee from Leesburg, GA, was confirmed Idol's 11th season winner in Wednesday night's live finale broadcast on Fox. Phillips is the fifth-straight male finalist to win home American Idol's title.

Further Latino moments integrated the bedazzled concert by Jennifer Lopez with reggaeton rappers Wisin y Yandel, who sang "Follow the Leader.”

Lopez took it back to her city days bumping and grinding with baggy pants, a tank top and sneakers. She as well didn’t shy away from showing off her rock-solid abs.

Wisin Y Yandel landed on stage starting airborne poles as background dancers bounced around the walls performing arts imposing acrobatics to the beat.

Sanchez and Phillips took several time to honor their lifetime mentors and then exposed that they were getting Ford’s brand new cars with thanks.

Miss Universe 2010 contest was decided in a Mexican woman of 22 years, taking home the crown Monday night. Jimena Navarrete Miss Mexico, Guadalajara, beat 88 other females from four continents in the 59th annual contest held in Las Vegas, broadcast live on NBC. Yendi Phillipps Miss Jamaica was second, Miss Australia Jenista Campbell was third, Miss Anna Poslavska Ukraine is fourth, & Venus Raj, Miss Philippines, the favourite must enter the contest ranked fifth.

Navarrete was the great competitor in the part score of the evening gown competition & was the second best scorer in the swimsuit. Navarrete asked judges in the sense that the Web on young people & said it is an indispensable tool. Rima Faikh Miss USA, American Muslims first person to win the Miss USA, do not let the final round. Stefania Fernandez Miss Venezuela won the Miss Universe 2009.

Campbell won the Miss Universe friendliness. Miss Thailand won the Fonthip Watcharatrakul Miss Photogenic Universe and a second prize for best national costume. Fakih, an immigrant from Lebanon 24 years in Dearborn, Mich., invited celebrations among Arab-Americans when he won Miss USA. Pageant records are not detailed to show whether Fakih is the first Arab-American, Muslim or immigrant to win Miss USA. Miss USA has not been named Miss Universe Brook Lee has since won the title in 1997.

Cajori passed in 2006 after finishing production of the film, which was released theatrically in the 2007. In the 1998, they won an Emmy for Chuck Close: A Portrait in Progress, which aired on PBS. The Perseid Meteor shower actually starts each year in July as the earth begins to move through the meteor stream, with tonight (August 11) & Wednesday morning (August 12) being the peak of activity in the sky.

Tonight will mark the peak of the first meteor shower of what astronomers, both professional & amateur, refer to as meteor season. Tonight/tomorrow morning, the Earth will pass through the thickest stretch of debris left by comets Marsden & Kracht, which leads to the Delta Aquarid meteor shower.

Regrettably, the forecast for tonight is looking dodgy, to say the least. The lovely news is that Delta Aquarids can be seen over a week before or after tonight.

The best time to view the meteor shower if you’re in the United States is Wednesday morning at 1:00 a.m. EST & at 5:30 a.m. EST. At the peak, you’ll see between 50 to 150 meteors an hour in the night sky, although you will notice meteors at other times in the coursework of the night. Best viewing is away from city lights, & obviously cloud cover.

If you’re in the Southern hemisphere, parts of the meteor shower may be viewable depending on where you’re located, although lots of in the far south will miss out as most of the activity is over the horizon.

TV show fined in Australia for killing

A British broadcaster convicted of animal cruelty two reality show contestants skinned, cooked and ate a rat during filming in Australia.

ITV Studios, producer that I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here and was fined 3,000 Australian dollars after pleading guilty Monday, the Australian RSPCA told Tuesday.

The RSPCA filed a complaint in December against show participants chef Gino D'Acampo and actor Stuart Manning who prepared the risotto-and-rat meal on the wilderness show late last year.

Animal activists said the rat squealed in apparent pain and took more than 90 seconds to die.

ITVs guilty plea, the RSPCA decided to drop its complaints against D'Acampo and Manning, according to a statement from David O'Shannessy, chief inspector for the New South Wales state RSPCA. If convicted, the men could have faced up to three years in prison.

The conviction confirms that killing and preparing an animal for human consumption should not involve unnecessary pain, distress or suffering of the animal, O'Shannessy said.
