From the moment Acer announced its redesigned Predator Triton 300 AT CES, I was hooked on the new look. This stereotypical “game look” in black and red (or sometimes in blue to spice it up) can be aggressive, and it’s also completely hideous and uninspired these days. There are many older players who would enjoy something more moderate, something that fits into the environment of a board meeting, a university conference or a café.

At least that’s where I am in my life. The Predator Triton 300 SE is personally even better than the CES photos, but the appearance is only half of the equation with this gaming laptop. It reaches the right brands in terms of size, weight and even performance and price, but I can’t help but feel disappointed with its Intel Core I7-11375h, its storage capacity and its super loud fans.

The Predator Triton 300 SE is currently sold, only at Best Buy in a configuration with an Intel Core i7-11375H, an RTX 3060, a DRAM memory of 16 Gb and an SSD M. 2 512 Gb. The Acer website lists the Triton as available in configurations with up to 24 Gb DRAM and 1 Tb SSD M. 2, but these configurations are not currently available. And this 512 GB M. 2 SSD is not suitable for many modern games; Cyberpunk 2077 requires 70 GB, action field V 90.5 GB, Red Dead Redemption 2 more than 100 GB…You will receive the photo.

Even if you were willing to spend about 200 more for a larger SSD, as you can with the old model, unfortunately this is not an option at the moment. But a price increase for twice the amount of storage space actually seems a little pricey; the Predator Triton 300 SE’s SSD is a PCIe 3.0 model, capping at 3500MB/s.

The screen of the recent Triton 300 also has a lower refresh rate than the previous version. The old Triton can handle up to 240Hz with its 15.6-inch IPS FHD panel, but Acer’s recent model is just a 144Hz and 14-inch IPS FHD panel. The new Triton 300 also dispenses with the complete keyboard of its previous iteration, but is able to keep the same key spacing thanks to the smaller overall size of the laptop.

It’s 3.7 pounds and 0.70 inches thick, similar to Asus’ ROG Zephyrus G14, but an improvement over Acer’s recent-generation Triton 300, which weighed 4.4 pounds and was 0.08 inches thicker. When it comes to thin and light gaming laptops, the Triton 300 SE is not the thinnest. This honor is due to the Stealth 15m from MSI, which is 0.62 inches thick, but 0.70 is still not bad — especially if both gaming laptops have the same weight. The Predator Triton 300-Acer is comfortable to transport.

As for the connectors, the Triton is similar to the Stealth 15m: two USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 4, a full-size HDMI 2 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The only thing not found is a microSD slot. It also has a higher maximum brightness compared to the Stealth (315 to 250 nits), but its battery life is not that long and not close to the 10 hours announced by Acer. While the battery of the Triton 300 lasts about three hours longer than the Triton 500 we tested (6: 11 vs. 3: 20), the stealth value is more than 8 hours. This represents Triton 300, which is on the same level as the ROG Flow X13 Asus, the GS66 Stealth from MSI and the ROG Zephyrus G14 from Asus.

Now let’s dig into the bowels: the processor inside, Intel’s Core I7-11375h, is a mobile “special edition” processor that the company announced at CES in January. Like the other Tiger Lake chips in its family, it is a 4-core processor with 8 threads, but it can reach a maximum frequency of 5.0 GHz, which is the same as Intel’s i7-11700k desktop processor with twice as many cores and threads. It has a single-core performance faster than the Ryzen 9 4900HS processor: AMD – an advantage of around 1′ 000 points over the Ryzen 9 4900HS from Geekbench 4, which is a chip with 8 cores and 16 threads with a thrust of up to 4.3 GHz.

But the performance of the new Triton from Acer is equal to the performance of the Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 in some games, even if it is configured with a newer RTX 3060 video card. At 1080p on ultra (or the highest graphics settings), both show an average of 81 to 82 frames per second in Far Cry 5 and 65 to 66 frames per second on Total War: Warhammer II. The Zephyrus G14 is even slightly faster in the Civilization vi AI benchmark, which measures PROCESSOR performance, from 7.1 ms to 7.9 ms per revolution. But the Triton comes in Shadow of the Tomb Raider from 80 to 69 fps, and Metro Exodus (ray tracing off) from 53 to 41 fps.

The Core I7-11375h is also better at processor-based 3D rendering in Blender, with a 40-second advantage over the Ryzen 9 4900hs. However, the GPU-based 3D rendering between the two laptops was even 7.5 minutes away, and the Zephyrus G14 is four minutes faster than the Triton, which recodes a 4K video in 1080p 30 fps in Handbrake.

But the Ryzen 4000 series mobile processors are not even the recent chips from AMD. The company released its peril good mobile series Ryzen 5000 in January, and the Core i7-11375h is behind the Ryzen 9 5980HS in each of our usual benchmarks. (The Ryzen 9 5980hs is a processor with 8 cores and 16 threads with a boost clock of up to 4.8 GHz.) It was even 1,000 points higher than Cinebench R23, a benchmark that we only use for extensive comparison tests.

The Core I7-11375h has a higher boost frequency than the Ryzen 9 5980HS, so it should theoretically have a higher single score, right? Well, as we have seen with almost all Intel-based laptops in the last year, they are hot. Thermal throttling on several cores is common, and the core i7-11375h is not immune. By using hwinfo to measure internal temperatures, the Core I7-11375h reached a maximum temperature of 100 degrees Celsius (212 Fahrenheit) on three of the four cores, which is the maximum allowable temperature.

Intel’s Turbo Boost technology can boost central clocks up to 5.0GHz, but only when the temperature reaches a certain threshold. The average CPU temperature in my tests was about 80 degrees Celsius, too high for the Turbo Boost. But even without this additional frequency of 100 MHz or 200 MHz, the Core I7-11375h has never reached a top speed of 4.5 GHz — with the laptop in turbo mode.

The fans of the laptop — although very noisy in turbo mode-kept the skin temperatures on and around the keyboard relatively cool. The highest they got was 45 degrees Celsius, so you can comfortably play on the Triton 300 SE for at least hours. And if you wear headphones, the noise will not be annoying.

The disappointing Core i7-11375h apart from that, Acer’s Triton 300 SE is a competitive gaming laptop if you look at the performance for the price and take into account the rest of its features. It is well balanced, although I would like Acer to have other configuration options available.

My time on the phone is usually spent grinding the edges of my mind on TikTok and Twitter, with a “healthy,” inbox of emails, calendar messages and capital letters to get things done. But now a new category of applications has crept into the iPhone’s screen time ranking: games, especially via platforms like Steam Link and the Delta emulator.

This is due to the backbone of one, a Snap-On controller that returns the iPhone as a lawful piece of mobile gaming hardware that rivals the Nintendo Switch. This thing makes mobile gaming a pleasure that goes beyond the context also pleasant time wasters like Holedown and trio. It adds a new sense of focus on the iPhone as a leisure tool: you want to put the backbone in place, turn off your notifications and dive into Fantasy. And it clarifies a lot about the future of gaming, as cloud services go from a glitchy state of possibility to reality.

Apple may not be the first company that comes to mind when you hear “pocket games” — you’ve probably invoked Nintendo’s Game Boy or the switch — but it’s already become a powerhouse without a real try.

Gizmodo asked Lewis Ward, research director at IDC, the leading market analysis company, to pull some numbers compared to Apple and Nintendo. (Finally, we are talking about mobile games, and the other big players — Sony and Microsoft do not offer dedicated portable systems.) According to IDC, Apple achieved revenue of billion in 2020 from games offered worldwide on the iOS App Store, and Nintendo’s total revenue rose to billion. Apple, a company that doesn’t make dedicated gaming hardware or first-party games itself, is generating the same gaming money as the world’s biggest video game maker.

The App Store makes the money, it was explained why Apple also doubled its subscription service “Apple Arcade. The games that are offered there are more robust than the typical Freemium game from the App Store—they are the kind that you can buy on a console or PC, and in fact they are often sold there. I’m not going to play a game like World of Demons — from developer Bayonetta PlatinumGames —with a touchscreen, but happy to get started with my controller.

To put it all: if the backbone of one or similar devices (for example the Razer Kishi) gets a foothold series, mobile games can attract a much safer type of consumers and surprise an already successful business. The game that has already dropped hundreds or more on dedicated hardware could be satisfied with a piece of plastic plugged into his phone.

The backbone of one can accommodate any iPhone dating-back to the 6s and connect via the Lightning port-no difficult Wi-Fi settings or lost connections. It has all the buttons you find on any other modern controller, as well as a unique “Home” button that launches an optional Backbone application. You can attach your phone and jump into a game in seconds. To get an old crossed apple in the crib: it just works.

The actual games without significant entry delay. Pimples usually feel fine, except for felt and muddy light self-retardants. They’re fine. Overall, the backbone is sturdy, with a hard plastic back that contrasts with the flexible strap of the Razer Kishi. My iPhone feels safe in hardware and I don’t feel like I have to treat it like a Fabergé work. I threw it in a backpack and dropped it without accommodation by a dresser. I like that the materials fit a little more with the Premium feel of Apple’s Smartphone, but it’s not like most game controllers are made of stainless steel anyway.

There is not much to say about the execution. That’s great. There’s even a headphone jack and a Lightning Pass-through port for powered. I’ve spent hours playing Forza Horizon 4, Valkyrie profiles: Lenneth, Taiko Pop tap, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Destiny 2, Tales of Symphonia, and Wario Land 4 on this thing and have few plains.

I ran three categories of games with this control: native iOS games; games streamed through services such as Steam Link, Google Stadia, and PlayStation Remote Play; and ROMs stored locally on my iPhone and played through the Delta emulator. I have tried a variety of Genres in each category.

As you might expect, there are no problems with native iOS games. Action games like Call of Duty Mobile functional perfect, as do rhythmic titles like Taiko Pop-tap Apple Arcade and role-playing games like Valkyrie Profile.

Functional streaming almost as well. In particular, the Steam link occurs with the backbone of becoming my best friend. I can get a few Forza classes out of bed, make progress in Final Fantasy XIII while I make coffee broth, whatever. Of course, a lot of this depends on your configuration. I have connected a gaming PC to a fiber optic connection via Ethernet, Streaming happens without problems, whether my iPhone has a good Wi-Fi connection or just uses its mobile service. PlayStation Remote Play on my PlayStation 4 Pro was a little more uneven, I noticed, maybe due to a problem with my hardware. Connecting delays or disruptions is facilitated from time to time. Anyway, I successfully tackled it by playing songs on Persona 5: Dancing in hard Starlight mode and offline matches in Dragon Ball FighterZ and Soul Calibur VI.

The Pixel 6 is easily one of the best phones this year, but it’s not perfect, and now Google is defending the slightly slower speed of the pixel 6’s fingerprint sensor, claiming that this is part of its efforts to provide more security.

As I pointed out in our review, the fingerprint sensor on the Pixel 6’s screen (this is the first time Google has used this technology in any of its phones) is usually pretty accurate, but still feels slower than some on-screen sensors on competing phones like the Galaxy S21.

Well, after being asked about the sensor performance on Twitter, the official account @Madebygoogle responded with a message that the Pixel 6’s sensor uses “improved security algorithms”, which can sometimes cause the phone to take a little longer or require more contact with the sensor before unlocking the phone.

While Google’s answer may not do much for people hoping to unlock their Pixel 6 a little faster, focusing on increased security is probably a cautious decision, looking back at some of the problems Samsung had with the Galaxy S10, the first Samsung phone to have an on-screen fingerprint sensor.

If you want to speed up the unlocking times of the fingerprints of your pixel 6, there are several things you can do. Although this first step is a bit easy, people looking for faster unlock times might want to consider re-registering their fingerprints by making sure their fingers are clean of otherwise harmless things like sweat or oils, and that they allow the sensor to fully scan the tip of their numbers. As someone who tests a lot of phones, even me, I sometimes spoil that, especially when I’m setting up new phones and trying to move forward to explore more interesting features.

The other thing you can do is to activate the increased tactile sensitivity in Pixel 6 by going to the display settings of the pixel and activating the toggle to “increase the tactile sensitivity.””Although the feature in the phone is described as an improvement in tactile response when the phone is used with a screen protector, many users have also found that it also slightly increases the recognition of the pixel 6’s fingerprint sensor.

In the end, while the pixel 6’s fingerprint sensor may not be as fast as the similar technology on other phones, it’s still very nice to have the option to unlock your phone with your fingerprint instead of your face if masks remain such a necessity while traveling or on the go.

Razer products are known for their in-your-Face designs and eye-catching RGB lighting, but for its new Orochi V2 mouse, Razer removed almost all the extra fluff and created a super simple and lightweight travel mouse for gamers.

The Orochi is relatively affordable and has a very straight Design that is almost entirely ambidextrous, with the exception of the two buttons mounted on the left side (which are a little easier to use for straight ones). And even for someone like me who doesn’t have very big hands, the mouse feels relatively small, which means it’s a little better for gamers who use a claw grip, although there’s a little space to rest their palm on it if you prefer.

Razer says that The Orochi V2 weighs only 60 grams, but this figure does not include the weight of a Battery you need, because The Orochi relies on disposable batteries instead of a built-in rechargeable power supply. Razer says it chose a non-rechargeable battery because it makes the mouse a little easier to handle when traveling, and Razer even has the option of choosing a single AA or AAA battery.

When powered with an AA battery (one AA is included), the Orochi’s actual weight is closer to 72 grams, although with a AAA battery, you can shave off about five to seven grams if you don’t mind sacrificing battery life a little in the process. Under typical conditions, Razer says Orochi can last up to a whopping 950 hours on a single AA when connected to a PC via Bluetooth.

Razer also supported its own Hyperspeed Wi-Fi connection, which provides a stronger Signal and a slightly longer response time, the disadvantage of which is higher power consumption, which translates into a battery life of only 425 hours with a single AA. However, since the Orochi V2 has no connectors, it is not possible to opt for a wired connection when the batteries are exhausted.

That said, I really appreciate that Razer offers you a selection of wireless connectivity options (which can be switched with a handy switch at the bottom of the mouse) and also a handy Dongle for its Hyperspeed Wireless that comes with its own storage slot in the mouse, so you won’t lose it when you’re on the go. If this were for me, any wireless mouse that requires a Dongle for wireless connectivity would come with a built-in Cubby hole to store the Dongle when not in use, so I’m really glad Razer has one on the Orochi V2.

In terms of design, The Orochi V2 is rather simple and supports the standard left and right mouse buttons, a scroll wheel and a single button behind the scroll wheel, which is set by default to switch between a handful of mouse sensitivities (indicative value at 18,000 DPI). As with other Razer mice, each button can be reprogrammed with Razer’s Synapse app, allowing the mouse to record a single Profile on the go.

Each button on the Orochi V2 uses the second-generation Razer mechanical mouse switches, designed for a lifespan of up to 60,000 presses, and in my experience they all provided a very crisp and satisfying click. But overall, The Orochi V2 remains a super simple, no-frills travel mouse, and unlike many other mice from Razer, with the exception of a small indicator light on the top, the Orochi V2 does not come with Chroma support or RGB lighting.

The only thing that could be a little divisive is that Razer is so focused on making the Orochi V2 as light as possible, depending on your taste, you might think that the mouse feels a little inexpensive. The removable plastic cover of the Orochi is quite thin and, combined with the plastic scroll wheel, the Orochi feels incredibly light for its size, even when powered with an AA battery. It’s a totally opposite experience to wearing a beautiful watch or piece of jewelry that feels heavier than it looks.

Razers a little nod to a player is the ability to order a custom-made top matter with more eye-catching Designs and the ability to spell your name or player tag. Of course, customizing the Orochi costs extra, which increases the price of the mouse from in total.

Even though the Orochi V2 may not be the kind of mouse you typically expect from Razer, it has been really solid in my previous tests and I find its simple and straightforward design quite refreshing.

I was convinced for a long time that if I became a parent, I would do everything in my power not to monitor my child too much. But then I decided to return to full-time work a little earlier than planned, so to alleviate my fears of sending my toddler into the world, I did what any loving and loving parent would do: I put a GPS tracker on him.

The monitor locator-Jiobit Next is a simple GPS tracker with clip-on technology for people and pets. It is less visible than a tracking watch like Lil Tracker 2G or a dedicated tracking collar like the Whistle Go Explore and more secure than tracking via a maps app. The Jiobit is affordable than setting up a separate device with your carrier if you just want location tracking. It’s also accurate enough that I can find the peace of mind of knowing exactly where my child is at all times worth the monthly subscription.

Originally designed for children with special needs, the Jiobit is a simple gray-white tracker without buttons and switches in the open air. The outer casing is waterproof and durable enough to withstand weathering. At just 18 grams, the Jiobot is light enough so you can forget it’s there until bath time. The device itself measures about 1.45 by 1.97 by 0.47 inches, which is about the size of a Ritz cookie. We have not misled him yet.

The Jiobit comes with a powered dock and a replaceable accessory set, including a secure buckle to tie the jiobit to a belt buckle, a strap clip to attach it to a pet collar, and an integrated buckle for use with lanyards. My daughter is wearing the hem locking clip, which is specially designed to be attached to her belt. She did not manage to shake it or remove it herself. Additional accessories and accessories are available for purchase, such as protective sleeves and pin lock bags for added security.

Jiobit requires a monthly data connection fee, although no SIM card is involved. That’s 9 a per month with an annual contract, 13 a per month with a six-month contract or 15 per per month for a non-contract subscription, which you can cancel at any time. Overall, it’s about as much as the lowest feature phone from T-Mobile or associated MVNO, plus the monthly connection fee, which is usually. Not to mention that your child or pet has no way to interact with the device and prevent it from being tracked.

The tracker is quick to set up. Once you sign up for the service, you can select your care team (the people monitoring your child) and ask them to install the app. The Jiobit uses Bluetooth to measure the proximity between it and the nearest smartphone. I especially like this feature because it allows me to see how close my child is to the accompanying mature. Even Google Maps can’t provide this kind of accuracy. If she is with me and we are on the road, the jiobit will also send me a warning if she is too far away — which I appreciate in crowded places like the farmer’s market.

The Jiobit app is relatively easy to use and essentially without bloating. The app sets up a geographical barrier around all trusted places, including residences and businesses, where your child could spend time regularly. Jiobit sends a notification every time the device reaches or leaves one of these locations. When your child is in transit, the Jiobit app will launch in Live mode, where you can see the child moving in real time as a blue dot on a map-just like any other real-time map app.

I was impressed by the accuracy with which Jiobit tracked my daughter’s whereabouts. Every time I heard the walker being wheeled through the front door by its attendant, I immediately received a notification from the app that it was out of bounds. I use the Jiobit timeline feature to monitor her throughout the workday to see if she’s jumping or napping somewhere else. I can see exactly which playgrounds she went to with her caregivers and how long she was absent. This also helps us to avoid repeated visits to the park during our time together on weekends.

The Jiobit connects to any available wifi, Bluetooth, cellular and GPS network to find its coordinates. It is compatible with LPWA CatM1 and NB-IoT. Unlike its first-generation counterpart, the Jiobit Next is not fully compatible with foreign networks.

Safety is a major concern when you are dealing with a gadget that is tracking a child. Jiobit has an explainer that describes its security protocols, the largest of which is a dedicated security chip that makes it “a device without this chip cannot communicate with our secure servers.”The data is encrypted both when it is sent to Jiobit’s servers and when the device is not in use. Jiobit also says that the software of its devices cannot be changed by bodily opening the device. And Jiobit has been certified according to the Children’s Online Privacy Rule (COPPA). The researchers found that other GPS trackers for children are a nightmare when it comes to safety, products from Jiobit were not included in these lists.

When she is older and more focused, I will teach my daughter to use Alert Me from Jiobit, an optional feature that is still in the pilot phase. When a person double-clicks on the front of the tracker, the app immediately notifies the entire care team that help is needed. I would like to see a future update that combines this feature with emergency distribution or something similar to the way a security company calls to track after an alarm is triggered. For grandparents and other caregivers who are not on duty, you can disable these notifications for their smartphones.

An important CAVEAT regarding the Jiobit, which, as I imagine, could be fixed with a software update. Currently, only one parent is the primary caregiver, while the other parent is grouped together in the General care team. Since my husband installed the jiobit with his phone, I have no access to the trusted places or the care team. This is especially noticeable, since I bodily carried and gave birth to the child I am following.

The players are not a monolith, and the systems on which they play either. Some prefer more barebone systems, which are not much more than a collection of components, while others are looking for animal desktop replacements that shine like a action ship. But when it comes to high-end gaming laptops, the Razer Blade 15 Advanced fits the description better than anything else. And while there are some bumps that often come with a high-end game machine, the experience you get is hard to recreate on Razer’s affordable rivals.

For 2021, Razer has not changed much on the outside of the Blade 15, which I certainly will not complain about. You still get a beautiful monocoque aluminum chassis with razer’s signature chroma lighting and an RGB backlit keyboard. The entire typing experience is just as sharp and bouncy as before, while Razer’s well-placed stereo speakers ensure an always full sound. Now technically, Razer says that the Blade 15 is about 4% smaller than before, and although I appreciate any weight gain, this size reduction is still quite difficult to notice personally.

Instead, most of the upgrades for the updated Blade 15 come inside and along its sides, with Razer now offering configurations with a display up to 360 Hz, Nvidia RTX 3080 GPUs and a range of 11th generation Intel processors. Internally, Razer has even redesigned the memory slots of the Blade 15, so that the system now has up to two m. 2 SSDs, as well as a new HDMI 2.1 port (which you will need if you want to stream high-resolution / highly updated video to an external monitor) and a full-size SD card reader for the more advanced Blade 15 models.

On our revision unit, we have a good mix of components, including a 2560 x 1440 240Hz matte non-touch display, an Intel Core i7 10875h processor, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and an RTX 3070. Aside from the 1TB SSD (which you could reduce to 512GB or less if you wanted to save money), one thing I like about this setup is that the GPU works well with your 2560 x 1440 240Hz display fits. This is something that is often overlooked, as people sometimes like to spend more on certain components, such as GPUs, without thinking about how the whole system works together.

Using an RTX 3070, I’ve found that the Blade 15 can easily achieve high frame rates in many AAA titles, with all the graphical bells and whistles enabled, while in more competitive games like CS:Go or Overwatch, it can maximize that 240Hz display, where those extra frame rates could give you a little edge. When I ran Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1920 x 1080 and the highest settings, the Blade reached 15 112 fps, which is not far from the 118 fps that we got from MSI gp66 Leopard. And in Far Cry it’s a similar story, with Blade 15 reaching 109 frames per second at 1920 x 1080 and ultra graphics, compared to 120 for GP66.

While some might be dismayed that a affordable laptop, the gp66 Leopard, has a performance advantage of 5 to 10%, this comparison really highlights the difference between different types of gaming laptops. Because although the GP66 has very similar specifications and costs hundreds less, it does not have the same level of polishing as the Blade 15.

The build quality of Razer is significantly better, with a rigid chassis that does not bend even under heavy pressure, and a battery life of 7 hours and 10 minutes in our video review compared to only 4: 35 for the GP66. This makes the Blade 15 a much better daily companion, especially in those times when he has to double down on boring things like not playing games. And with its understated design, the Blade 15 often feels like it’s showing you how well it works, rather than letting its design bark loudly at the power inside. It is an mature version of a gaming laptop, for more mature gamers with money to pay for all its luxuries.

Really, my main complaints about the Razer Blade 15 boil down to three relatively small things. First of all, in our tests, the 240 Hz screen of the Blade 15 was about 301 nits, which is absolutely fine if you play indoors. But 300 nits is pretty average for such an expensive laptop, especially with many ultraportables offering 400 nits or more, making the screens easier to read outdoors or in a sunny café. If you care more about image quality than high refresh rates, Razer offers a Blade 15 setup with a bright 60 Hz OLED display.

Another nuisance is that the fan of the Blade 15 can get a little noisy under load and emit a somewhat sharp hum that is difficult to ignore, twice as much if you are not the person who plays games. Fortunately, you can set the speed of the Blade 15 fans in the Razer Synapse app, but if you don’t think about it in advance, it won’t stop people from looking around and understanding where this moaning comes from when the Blade 15 fans are spinning in nature.

My last complaint is that for some reason Razer is one of the last remaining gaming laptop manufacturers that does not offer AMD-based configuration on both the CPU and GPU side. It’s a bit frustrating to see how well AMD processors work in games, but I think that’s one of the pitfalls of a luxury machine.

Samsung Galaxy A52 5G has a lot to offer. This is not only the successor to last year’s best-selling Android phone, but also the Star of Samsung’s new mid-range a-series (THE slightly higher-end Galaxy A72 is not coming to the US). As people hang on to their phones for longer, there’s a good chance a new handset bought today won’t be replaced for another three or four years. But despite all the pressure, the Galaxy A52 5G can still impress and offers an excellent mix of specifications and features at an affordable price with only a few small quirks and curiosities.

The Galaxy A52 combines a mix of high-end components with a robust (but not particularly exciting) design and even some components that you won’t even get on Samsung’s most expensive Galaxy S devices. Based on a 6.5-inch 90 Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080, the A52 offers a large display with rich colors and high brightness up to 750 Nits. This is a great screen for a phone in this price range, bridging the gap between the 120 Hz OLED panels of Samsung’s Galaxy S Premium phones and the less colorful and affordable LCD panels you usually see on mid-range devices.

From there, Samsung also includes a 32 MP perforated selfie camera on the A52’s display, as well as an on-screen fingerprint reader. It is important to note that the A52 has an optical fingerprint reader instead of the more sophisticated ultrasonic sensors found in the more expensive siblings of the A52. At first I had the impression that the A52’s sensor was a little fiddly and not as fast as I had hoped, but the more I used the phone, the more sensitive the A52 seemed.oil and Gunk on the fingers, in normal use it is still quite fast and reliable.

The A52 also has its standard keys, including a volume rocker and a lock button on the right side. But more importantly, unlike its more expensive siblings, the A52 still has a microSD card slot for expandable storage and a dedicated headphone jack, in cover the A52’s rather powerful stereo speakers don’t cut it off. Although I wish that Samsung has not removed these components on its Premium phones, I am really happy to see them alive and well on this year’s a-series phones.

Finally, Samsung completes the Design of the A52 and offers an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance (up to three feet for 30 minutes). My only review is that I wish Samsung had added only one thing to give visual appeal to an otherwise simple device. In the US, the A52 is only available in black and lacks the flashy colors of other Samsung phones, so you have one of Samsung’s “Glasstic” (also known as polycarbonate plastic) on the back, Plastic painted to look like metal, and Gorilla Glass 5 on the front.

It seems that the Wi-Fi 6 routers really appeared on the market only yesterday, and this is true-the first products were launched at the end of 2018, and the new 802.11 AX standard has only now become widespread. But the FCC has opened the 6 GHz band for unlicensed use, so the router manufacturers are adopting the ax protocol on this band with new 6E Wi-Fi hardware. but are you absent by not updating? We took one of THE first 6E Wi-Fi routers, the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 tri-Band, to find out.

Ultimately, it is primarily a gaming router. The Rapture GT-AXE11000 is part of the Asus Republic of Gamers product line: a line of devices and peripherals designed specifically to separate gamers from their money as efficiently as possible. It comes with a plethora of features for this purpose, and many of them are thankfully easy to use. The preconfigured parameters, for example, give the players of port forwarding rules for custom order to the most popular and demanding games with which the children play nowadays, in particular Fortnite, Borderlands 3, DOTA 3, and of course Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

This Router Is Gigantic

The updated enchantment is a massive and square continuation of the GT-AX11000 from 2018. It is covered with vents, with eight large (non-removable) articulated antennas on the sides and a plastic panel made of brushed artificial metal on the top with a flaming Rog logo in the shape of an eye illuminated by LEDs. Look at him too long, and he will begin to look back.

On the back you will find a power button, a reset pin hole, four gigabit LAN ports, a gigabit WAN port and a 2.5GB LAN / WAN port. Two USB 3.2 ports on the side allow you to connect hard drives or charge devices, while the front left corner has three buttons: one for WPS, one for switching Wi-Fi and a configurable “Boost” button that can be set to activate the large Rog LED, enable dynamic frequency selection, browse RGB settings or enable Game Boost. On the right front you will find small white LEDs that give you status indicators for Internet, gigabit LAN, 2.5 GbE LAN and the three wireless antennas.

Specification

On the technical side, Asus claims that the Rapture is capable of reaching (theoretically) 11, 000 Mbps. Each of its three bands is capable of using 4×4 multi-multi-input-multi-output (MU-MIMO), which refers to the number of simultaneously streamed data streams that it is capable of, in this matter there are four. It is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM.

As a Wi-Fi 6 device, the Rapture has an orthogonal Frequency Disposition multiple access (OFDMA), a technology that complements the MU-MIMO, which in a way solves the same problem as the MU-MIMO. Where the latter should help with more demanding tasks such as video meetings, OFDMA works best with small package devices such as IoT gadgets. The router also supports link aggregation, allowing users to connect two Ethernet ports on the router for increased bandwidth for things like local file transfers or redundant connections on devices they’d rather not fail.

Other features include a player-oriented dashboard where you can view real-time graphs of network activity, ping and jitter, as well as a “game Radar” widget that shows your current connection speed to the servers of a particular game around the world. You can access a more robust version of this feature from the sidebar for more detailed information.

There are also four fairly easy-to-understand QoS modes, i.e. modes that prioritize certain types of Internet traffic. I especially liked the ability to assign the boost function of the game to the “Boost” button on the front panel of the device, which may seem gimmicky at first, but to be able to change the QoS priority on the fly, as this is very convenient.

It’s when you go beyond the game features, however, that things really start to get messy.

Amazon is trying its hand at headphones again after stumbling out of the gate with its first pair of Echo buttons in 2019. The improvements, I’m easily irritated to say, are good.

The hardware from Amazon is everywhere: the Kindle range is excellent but still has micro USB connectors, the smart screens are very good, but also slightly scary, the first Fitness Tracker was terribly invasive and the first generation Bluetooth headphones were overwhelmed by the jump (see micro USB) and did not sound very good. I didn’t know what to expect when the second-generation Echo forward Alexa buttons arrived at my door, but I have to admit that the recent buds are rated so well in evaluating the increasingly competitive package of other Bluetooth headphones that the small problems I have are not Dealbreakers. They also sound pretty good.

The boring design is perfectly fine

The Echo headphones are almost completely devoid of personality or brand until you look closely at each earphone and notice the Amazon Smile logo. Practically no one wants to wear the Amazon logo in the ear, but the black Logo on the black earphone is so weak that it is almost invisible. The powered cover is also marked, but the smile is located on the underside of the device, so no one can see it. (I had no chance to see the White Version in person, although the Amazon Logo on these in the photos seems a little more obvious.)

The buds come with four silicone tips, which are gracefully color-coded so you know which one to grab, and two sizes of wings that are almost impossible to get in and out of the headset, and which can also easily cover the powered magnets that lock the headset in its place in the powered cover. I found this the hard way and accidentally emptied my left echo button from 100% to 11% thanks to a faulty wing fit that I immediately dropped. (The wing part doesn’t help so much with the fit anyway.) But even without the wings, I have a solid fit and a beautiful seal, and the ventilated Design avoids discomfort, even if I wear it for a few hours.

Each bud is sensitive to touch, so you can control the music playback with a tap or two (or three), and you can adjust a Gesture, a long hold, to control the volume on the left and right buttons. Adjusting this Gesture means removing the ability to control active noise cancellation (ANC) and Pass-Through with a long shutdown, so I sacrificed this feature.

Surprisingly Good Audio

The biggest change Amazon has made to the second-generation Echo heads is the addition of active noise cancellation instead of first-generation noise cancellation. And it works.

I did a 3-mile outdoor run in the heart of Hollywood to test the Echo Buds’ ability to muffle street noise or filter into the outside world when I needed to for safety reasons, and the ANC was effective. You can control the noise cancellation by long pressing on the headphones or by asking Alexa to turn them on or off. The passage is correct, although I have not heard as much about the outside world as other ANC headphones. (I should note that the Echo buds are only rated IPx4 and therefore are not sweatproof, so if you need headphones that can withstand workouts, look elsewhere.)

A Pass-Through function is specially designed for phone calls, a setting called Sidetone that you can activate in the Alexa app, which allows you to hear yourself more clearly when talking on the phone. This buggy was-I got along slightly better than without it turned on at first, but then it will no longer work. The change wasn’t big enough to be super noticeable at my end, but when I talked to my mom with Sidetone on, she asked me what I was doing — the sound of my hair brushing against the earpiece was so intense it sounded like I was chopping iceberg lettuce, she said. Without Sidetone, my hair wasn’t a problem.

The new Echo Buds are equipped with 5.7 mm drivers and three microphones: two external Beamforming and one internal. The music sounds really good, but I will say that the Echo Buds audio is not as complete or immersive as more expensive headphones (like Apple’s AirPods Pro and Jabra Elite 85T), but I only noticed that listening to the same song on all devices back to back. I’ve tested this with a few different genres, from EDM to Classic Rock and of course Fiona Apple. But overall, the Echo buttons are well balanced, and the ability to adjust the equalizer in The Alexa app means I can raise the bass as many times as I like.

For those of us who have to work on the go, there is always a dilemma when it comes to choosing your mobile device: save on the screen size and opt for a lighter 13-inch laptop, or risk putting your back or shoulders at risk by opting for a larger 15-inch system? And for those who appreciate flexibility, dare you add even more weight with a 2-in-1?

It is a difficult choice, and that Samsung is trying to eliminate with the new Galaxy Book Pro 360. Combining an exquisitely fine design and a beautiful AMOLED display with excellent battery life and solid performance, the new 2-in-1 brings everything you need into one machine.

The epitome of elegance

The devices are getting thinner and thinner, but the dimensions of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 still look incredibly elegant. The 15-inch Galaxy Book pro 360 measures 14 x 9 x 0.46 inches and weighs only three pounds and is significantly thinner and lighter than an XPS 15 (13.57 x 9.1 x 0.71). And the XPS 15 is a standard flap, while the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a 2-in-1 with a rotary hinge.

But it gets even better when you remember that the 15-inch Galaxy Book Pro 360 is actually the largest and heaviest model in the new Galaxy Book pro line, with the 13-inch Galaxy Book pro 360 weighing only 2.3 pounds and the standard 13-inch Galaxy Book Pro with clamshell tipping the scales at 1.9 pounds. All in all, the ease of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pros means that you can upgrade to a larger system without breaking your back, which is a win for anyone who has always wanted more screens to work or play while traveling.

In addition, the Galaxy Book Pro 360, although it is extremely thin, still boasts a high build quality, with a sturdy anodized aluminum chassis that has only a little bend in the middle keyboard, which seems quite reasonable given its dimensions. And although you can pinch the Galaxy Book Pro 360 to have a slightly enlarged chin, it looks like an incredibly small complaint.

Dream umbrella in Technicolor

Then we move to the screen of the Galaxy Book Pro 360, that’s where Samsung really bends over the competition. The Galaxy Book Pro has a beautiful 1920 x 1080 Super Amoled panel and is one of the few notebook families that have a standard OLED display and yet are relatively affordable. The colors are deep and vibrant, and since brightness is a strong point of OLED displays, Samsung’s Galaxy Book Pro notebooks feel just as comfortable inside and out, even in bright sunlight.

This display is so good, it makes you want to see new things, just to see how beautiful they are. For more color-sensitive situations, such as editing photos or simply shopping online, Samsung offers several color profiles to ensure that the colors are accurate and not too saturated. My only small complaint with the 15-inch Galaxy Book pro 360 is that I want Samsung to have an optional 4K OLED panel, because with an overall pixel density lower than that of its 13-inch siblings, a little extra sharpness would go very far.

My cat Pablo is fat. His fluffy belly flops wildly from side to side when he runs, and he just runs to his food bowl. On the Chonky Cats Map, He’s definitely a “Megachonker” and a Croquettes-Binge or two from the city’s “oh lawd he comin” Degree.”I wake up most mornings until his cock hits me in the face while he’s moaning because it’s been an unacceptable eight hours since his last meal. I don’t care if he’s a big boy as long as he’s relatively healthy. However, something had to be done after her last visit to the vet. Not only did he put 19 pounds on the scale, but the vet called my husband to say, “We’re worried. He’s too young to be that fat.”

Prescription dietary food rich in fiber did not work. We bought her a harness and a leash for walks, but we only managed to pull her vulnerable body to the front door before the dishes slipped, which proves that cats are actually liquid. The only form of exercise Pablo believes in is extreme napping. I am writing all this so that you know that the Enabot Ebo Pro has done nothing wrong. The fault is directly on the round shoulders of Pablo.

The cutest robot in the country

The Ebo Pro is silly cute. It’s a teeny robot, the size of a tennis ball with pixelated eyes that express feelings. When you turn it on, it proudly says “EBO!”as if it were a Pokémon. I’m pretty sheltered from cute things after a 7-year stay in Tokyo, a country of cute things that break the brain, but I admit it: I was squeaking while unpacking. My test unit came with a secondary outfit, with reindeer ears and a Christmas hat, which I can confirm is ridiculously adorable if you put it on the Bot. It also comes with two different “hats”, one with a built-in laser pointer, and another to attract your cat with silicone feathers.

Functionally, the Ebo Pro is a chimera consisting of a pet camera, a robotic vacuum cleaner and a cat toy. It has a 1080p camera that you can see through the companion app, and the Pro model also has an AI that can recognize your pets and your family members. It can also record videos automatically. You can either actively control the robot through the application, or program it with different preset modes to play with your pet at one time or on one day of the week. When the battery runs out, it automatically returns to its powered station. And like most self-navigating robots, it also has collision sensors.

The setup is quick and painless — you just need to download the Ebo app, create an account and have the QR code generated by Ebo Pro scanned. After that, it took about two hours for it to be fully powered, and then I was ready to torment – uh, play with Pablo.

How it works

Manual driving the Ebo Pro takes time to get used to and I’ve never gotten great at it. But it could only be me. The camera feed helps you navigate, even if the Ebo Pro is a fragile Bot. This is not the worst, but sometimes when you are chasing a pet under furniture, you do not get the smoothest video. This is aggravated if you do it on the spotted side of the house, but I find that it applies to any pet camera. There are also a few buttons that you can press so that the Ebo Pro can interact with your chat. For example, you can press a Dash button to launch it forward, while another Ebo pretends to play dead. Each action triggers another very sweet “EBO!”which Pablo didn’t even appreciate.

Frankly, Pablo wasn’t a Fan of me driving the Ebo Pro manually. Every time I drove the Bot to him, he would look at it cool and say, “What should I do with this?”If I met him too often, he would jump on a surface that Ebo couldn’t keep up with. Just when I consider Pablo a glorified sofa cushion, he proves that he is a cat. Cover to point, it is banana for Laser Pointer. However, he is a fancy boy and likes laser pointers only if you slam him back and forth in a particular pattern. It was not easy to manipulate the Laser in manual mode this way, unless I press the button that rotates the Ebo Pro in a circle. Pablo was unamused and unmotivated to do anything other than stare at the camera as if he were in an episode of The Office. It was disappointing when he lost his shit when I checked the PetCube Play 2, which also has a built-in Laser.

I thought I was trying to seduce him by sticking the silicone spring on the head of the Ebo Pro. Pablo loves his feathers, even if he can only chase them away for a few seconds before taking a nap. I certainly caught him looking at the pen, but then again, he couldn’t bother interacting unless the Bot was motionless on its powered station.

I have already said that PC manufacturers that do not offer AMD-based configurations are lagging quite far behind their customers, and with the release of AMD’s new RX 6000M Mobile GPU line, this feeling feels even more applicable. Asus’ ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition, by combining a top-of-the-line AMD mobile processor with AMD’s recent flagship laptop graphics card, offers excellent performance that matches what you get from a similar Intel/Nvidia combination.

Even with all this power, the Strix G15 Advantage still manages to get an extremely decent autonomy. If you are looking for a 15-inch gaming notebook that can handle everything easily, the G15 advantage is absolutely impressive.

Well, before we go any further, it is important to mention that this system is slightly different from the standard Strix G15, which was released earlier this year. This model had an AMD processor in conjunction with a number of Nvidia GPUs, while the advantage of the G15 is all AMD from head to toe. And this Advantage tag is not just an empty slogan, because it means that this version of G15 is certified as part of the new AMD Advantage platform. This requires notebook manufacturers to meet a number of specifications, including the use of AMD processors and GPUs (DUH), the inclusion of an IPS or OLED display with more than 300 nits of brightness (no TN or VA panels allowed), support for FreeSync Premium and a number of other important features. It’s a bit like Intel’s Evo platform, but for gaming laptops, so you know you’re getting a quality product. And if future AMD Advantage laptops look like the G15 Advantage, I can’t wait to see what comes next.

A bold design for a Powerful Machine

For people who don’t like the modern gamer aesthetic, the G15 advantage may not be for you. Between a large RGB light bar that runs under the front of the system, a backlit keyboard with RGB lighting per key and even a removable front panel that covers the left hinge, the G15 Advantage cannot hide its intentions, even if it has tried (and has not tried). But if you look beyond all the RGB lighting, you’ll see that the G15 Advantage has a pretty sleek design, with sturdy panels that don’t have a lot of flex, a nice touchpad, and very strong cooling.

One aspect of the AMD Advantage program is that AMD also clarifies during the game that a laptop must keep the temperature near the WASD keys below 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit), and thanks to large fans, a large internal steam chamber and several IR sensors scattered throughout the system, the G15 Advantage definitely guarantees that things will not distract too hot. Now I will say that when fully powered, the volume of his fans guarantees that everyone in the same room knows that they are playing. But at least you have the option to set the fans to silencers (which really looks more like a whisper) in matter you don’t want to attract excessive attention.

Asus has also ensured that the keys of the G15 Advantage have a long two-millimeter keystroke in addition to a smooth and well-jumping keystroke, while convenient multimedia keys flank the right side of the keyboard. And while the G15 Advantage shares the same basic design as the vanilla model, one way to quickly distinguish the two is to look for the AMD logo in the corner of the lid, which is accompanied by some subtle Easter work from Asus.

The only design choice that presents itself like a sore thumb is the large chin of the G15 Advantage under its display, which in combination with an asymmetrical hinge space tends to make the system more clumsy than sour. And with a weight of just over five pounds, the weight of the G15 Advantage is quite typical for systems of this size.

I have already said that PC manufacturers who do not offer AMD configurations are pretty much dragging their customers, and with the release of AMD’s new RX 6000m line of mobile GPUs, this feeling is even more true. By combining a high-end AMD mobile processor with AMD’s recent flagship laptop graphics card, Asus’ ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition delivers excellent performance that matches or exceeds a similar Intel/Nvidia combination.

Despite all this performance, the Strix G15 Advantage still manages to maintain surprisingly decent battery life. If you are in the market for a 15-inch gaming laptop that can easily handle anything you throw at it, the G15 advantage is absolutely impressive.

Before going any further, it is important to mention that this system is slightly different from the standard Strix G15 that was released earlier this year.
One aspect of the AMD Advantage program is that even when playing, AMD indicates that a laptop should keep the temperature near the WASD keys below 40 degrees Celsius, and thanks to large fans, a large internal steam chamber and several IR sensors scattered throughout the system, the G15 Advantage ensures that things do not get too steamy. Now I will say that the volume of the fans at full load ensures that everyone in the same room knows that they are playing. But at least you have the opportunity to set the fans in silence (which is more like a whisper) if you do not want to draw too much attention to yourself.

Asus has also made sure that the keys of the G15 Advantage, in addition to a smooth and elastic stroke, have a two-millimeter long travel, while convenient multimedia keys flank the right side of the keyboard. And while the G15 Advantage has the same basic Design as the Vanilla model, one way to quickly distinguish the two is to look for the AMD Logo in the corner of the lid, accompanied by some subtle Easter eggs from Asus.

The only design choice that stands out as a wonderful thumb is the large chin of the G15 Advantage under the display, which, combined with an asymmetric hinge slot, tends to make the system more bulky than angular. And with a weight of just over five pounds, the weight of the G15 Advantage is quite typical for systems of this size.

I have reviewed a number of routers in a row, and the difference between my own experience and the very good numbers and boasts on the website of one manufacturer is enough to make me feel turned on. Sometimes my results can be bad or the router full of instability or other problems, and I think: “Are my expectations too high? Do I like my regular router because I have already fixed all the problems over time?”Then I connect something like the Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500 and I remember that there are extraordinary experiences to be had. Not all routers have to be a struggle.

Distinctive Design, Intuitive User Interface

If you’re not familiar with Netgear’s Nighthawk line, you’ve probably at least seen photos of it. Remember Kylo Ren’s shuttle? It is a miniaturized and executed Manta ray spacecraft with folding wings that contain the antenna array. It is quite well positioned as a future-proof router, with a single configurable 2.5G LAN / WAN port and link aggregation supported on all 4 LAN ports, as well as on the WAN port in combination with the first LAN port. It has two USB 3.0 ports on the back, an LED light switch, a built-in reset button, an on / off switch and a power connector.

Unfortunately, the power supply is an external power supply of the wall wart type, so you have to make room when plugging in. When you turn it on for the first time, you will hear how the cooling fan on board lights up surprisingly loudly and blows a little, but that was the only time I noticed the fan. Still, if it’s the kind of thing you’re sensitive to, you may want to consider it before you buy one.

I found a lot of things through the interface, both through the web browser and through the Netgear Nighthawk app. Aesthetics is a pleasant black and white affair, with a simple home screen layout that is easy to understand and navigate. From the home screen, you are just a click away to see how many and which devices are connected to which band, an Internet speed test run by Ookla, security, router settings, guest Wi-Fi and a traffic meter. The traffic counter is not a live moving chart, but is in line with the Eero approach and shows you a summary of the total and average amount of data uploaded and uploaded over different time periods. The Eero version of this includes more granularity and shows which devices are using the amount of data, which would be nice here too, but it’s definitely better than nothing.

The device Manager list is also very nice, so you can pause or resume the connection of a particular device with a simple switch next to each of them in the list. The security of the Nighthawk is provided by Bitdefender and requires a 1-year subscription and start with a 1-month free trial. Pleasant, no credit card information is required for the trial version, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to cancel the subscription if you don’t like it. It will simply bother you to add this information until the study is canceled, so if you can take it, it’s a breeze to sign up.

I really liked the functionality defined here, including an analysis of your devices and an assessment of the security measures you have taken, with tips on things like your password, which is a good start, but you will also be informed about smart home appliances that may pose security browbeat. Finally, Bitdefender includes a VPN with the NETGEAR Armor subscription. However, this is not a replacement for a traditional VPN, as it only works for up to 200 MB of daily traffic, so I wouldn’t rely on your lawfully questionable downloads. But you can forward the data from your phone when it is on the go, what’s OK?

The browser’s interface has a similar layout and set of options as the app, although I found it a bit more complicated. However, if you want to access advanced configuration options, you can find them here. In the browser, you can enable or disable OFDMA or decide not to send a specific SSID, for example. You can also enable or disable Smart Connect, a feature of many routers that allows you to use a single SSID for all bands. If it works well, it can be a very convenient and easy way to set up a smart home. However, I found that there was nothing connected to the 5 GHz band with the Nighthawk. Many routers work around this with a feature called band direction, which tries to encourage a device to switch to the fastest band it can connect to. I asked Netgear about this, and I was told that the tape control has been developed; they intend to release the feature in a future update. The settings are advanced further from there, and although this well is not as deep as Asus routers, I think this would satisfy most people for whom routers go beyond a simple way.
