Heather & Gav “Engagement” Session

The Thursday before Heather & Gav’s wedding we spent a few hours at the UVA campus and the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville doing an “engagement” session. I say “engagement” because Heather & Gav were technically married in October! I loved everything about this afternoon!

Anthe & Adam Wreck Beach Engagement Session

There’s not too many days in the year that you could do a photo shoot out at Wreck Beach, but March 17th was one of them. When we booked Anthe & Adam’s engagement shoot, we were so worried about the possibility for foul weather that we scheduled a rain date, just in case. Well, we couldn’t have had better weather, in fact we followed up our shoot with green beer on a patio. In Vancouver. In March.

Melissa & Rob Winter Cypress Engagement Session

The second of Melissa & Rob’s engagement sessions (the winter themed session) was up at Cypress mountain in early Februray. From Vancouver, it didn’t really seem like a beautiful winter day, more a gloomy, rainy, foggy type day. But as we drove up Cypress mountain we got higher than the fog. We were met with snow and sun and pretty much every kind of weather you could imagine. And we had a lot of fun. Note to self: snowbanks aren’t all that tightly packed.

Sean & my husband were housemates in university at Queens. Then, when my husband first moved to Vancouver he spent a month or so living with Sean’s parents while he found an apartment. They were groomsmen in each other’s weddings. And then Sean and Lisa had baby Charlotte, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her! When they were back for Christmas, we took the opportunity to do a family photoshoot on a beautiful January morning. Yup. This was in January. Vancouver is a beautiful city.

Graham & Amy Granville Island Engagement Session

Graham and I have been friends for 12.5 years, which sounds totally crazy to me. It feels like just yesterday I was starting university—where we met. I was thrilled when Graham & Amy asked me to shoot their wedding, and I was so nervous on the day of their engagement session … Graham was one of my best friends for four of the most formative years of my life, and I was about to meet his fiancee. But, I clearly shouldn’t have been worried: she’s just as awesome as he is and we hit it off immediately! I can’t wait for their Kelowna wedding this summer.

You’re about to start seeing a lot of Melissa & Rob on the blog! Melissa & Rob opted to do three engagement sessions, instead of the regular one! This way, we’re going to get pictures of them in fall, winter, spring and (their wedding) in the summer! I’m starting to know these two very well (having done three sessions with them already) and I can’t wait for their wedding at the Rock Water Resort this summer!
