Did you know about ASG’s 20,000 square foot prop and rental warehouse? Every theme, every design, every idea that you can think of for your event… we have the prop to make it authentic and fun.

Just last month Bellissimo Italian Foods asked ASG to help spice up their Italian Food Vendor Expo. They wanted something more than just the standard pipe and drape. ASG designed 12 vignettes utilizing columns, statues, wine casks, faux food, giant iconic Italian pictures and flowers. Each vignette was tucked into corners and aisle ends and really added a touch of color and fun.

Did you know ALLSTAR does weddings?

It’s true! Although we are mostly known for our corporate event production, ALLSTAR has an entire wedding and social event division dedicated solely to producing high-end, top-notch weddings with style. We carry everything in-house including beautiful chandeliers and unique lighting, draping and tent décor, stylish lounge furniture and anything else you can imagine for the big day.

A 1920's Speakeasy Themed Event

The ALLSTAR Group coordinated this awesome Speakeasy themed event In January. The guests were greeted by a gangster style bouncer (an actor) through a peep hole in the heavy wood entry door and had to use a secret password in order to enter. Once guests were inside they posed for a photo op complete with 20’s themed props to pose with. All the guests were dressed in their best 20’s attire so everywhere you looked you could see sequins, pearls, feather boas, fedoras and zoot suits!

ASG up lit feature areas of clustered street lamps, Barrels, fire hydrants & crate boxes to really make the Speak Easy theme come to life!

The entertainment for the night was a dueling piano duo and a casino room filled with craps, poker & black jack tables. The guests are given chips to play with and at the end of the evening could be cashed in for raffle tickets. There were awesome prizes such as spa visits and even a trip to Laughlin, Nevada!

“Sunny, Surfing, San Diego” with Yellowbook

At the ALLSTAR Group, we have the opportunity to work with hundreds of venues around the nation every single year. That being said, it is truly a treat when we get to work with the great people and fabulous event venue at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley. Recently, the Marriott contacted us to help out their client Yellowbook with a last minute upgrade for their conference. Yellowbook wanted to add a little pizzazz to their stage using the theme “Sunny, Surfing, San Diego”. The budget wasn’t huge, but we came up with a great stage set using our 12’ faux palm trees, surfboards in faux sand mounds and customized “Yellowbook” bamboo arch. We finished off the look with up-lighting in the perfect sunset tones. The folks at Yellowbook were thrilled that they got a fun customized stage and stayed within budget.

Sometimes, even just a little extra décor makes all the difference in the world. Thanks San Diego Marriott Mission Valley and Yellowbook!

An Even More Spectacular Event for Our Client

At the end of January we had the chance to produce the annual conference for one of our long time clients. Each year their attendance is on the rise, which is a great factor to have to face. After years of being crammed into a small ballroom, this year they ventured into a new hotel with a larger ballroom, allowing us more room to dream big.

We created a powerful stage using a 100’ cyc backdrop with a floating screen in front. The floating screen used a 3 projector blend with custom moving graphics. We utilized the cyc to show of lighting effects and color changes throughout the program offering unique looks throughout the show. This was all anchored by a stage with a custom rounded front and 2 outside satellite screens for IMAG.

In addition to their added size, they lengthened their program adding an additional day of keynote and presenters. They had a great response from their attendees and vendors and are already in full swing planning for 2013.

Old Hollywood Glamour Awards Banquet

The Allstar Group has transformed another space from ordinary ballroom to a full awards banquet production! This awards banquet screamed the “Old Hollywood Glamour” theme from the red carpet to the gold fabrics to the live big band jazz musicians! The guests added to the vibe with women wearing long flowing sparkly dresses and the men in suits and bow ties.

The Allstar Group used a huge 7’ x 14’ rear projection screen to show award nominee videos and images throughout the night. We also worked with the client to create an event logo to appear above the big band jazz musicians during their performances.

After a night of laughing, good food and drinks and honoring the award winners, they transitioned into the “After Party” room. There was black, white and red lounge furniture spread throughout the space, with red LED lighted table toppers and tons of lit candles to set the mood. The guests continued to dance and drink and snack on hors d'oeuvres till the early morning hours. It was a night to remember!

San Diego County Apartment Assoc. Mark of Excellence

Earlier this month we had the privilege of being part of the San Diego County Apartment Association’s annual Mark of Excellence awards. This is a special evening when the best of the best in the apartment industry are honored for their hard work.

We designed a stage set the incorporated modern book cases to hold the many awards that were given throughout the evening. We used up lighting to change the look of the stage through the different segments they had in their program. The evening even featured a spotlight to follow all the guests as they made their way to stage.

It was a star-studded evening that featured a full production crew (audio, video, and lighting) along with a dynamic set. It was a beautiful program and we hope those in attendance had as much fun as we did.

One of a Kind 18th Birthday Bash

For the 3rd year in a row, The Allstar Group was excited to transform an empty warehouse for another one of a kind birthday celebration!

This 18th birthday bash was designed to have a hip club feel with a young vibe. We brought in our top notch lighting team and a full color RGB laser to splash the walls with bright colors and fun patterns.

The event featured 3 Key areas; The Entry Tunnel, The Food & Beverage Fun Zone and The Dance Club. The dramatic entry tunnel featured a white spandex dome with action sports movies that were projected onto the inside of the tunnel. The Food & Beverage Fun Zone was sprinkled with LED lighted furniture and colorful hanging spheres. We served more than 200 guests fresh made tacos, Hawaiian shaved ice, a wide variety of sweet treats at the candy bar and other finger food snacks. The Fun Zone also featured a giant Twister game, giant Wii playing station, photobooth and ping pong tables. Music blasted throughout the space and the DJ got the crowd pumped up as they danced the night away!

The Allstar team had a blast transforming the empty warehouse! No matter what type of venue you have in mind you can rest assured that The Allstar Group can handle it with ease!

Every year, The Allstar Group has the opportunity to transform our clients holiday celebrations into something extra special. We have built snow castles and transformed ballrooms into fire and ice displays. We have created 1920’s Speakeasies and even created a fabulous Disco Holiday Celebration. For all the creative and sometimes wacky themes, sometimes it’s nice to do a traditional Christmas Celebration with fresh garlands, richly colored hues, warm lights and a stunningly trimmed out tree.

This year, Wall Street Associates LLC asked us to do just that. There intimate holiday celebration at the always welcoming and wonderful Rancho Valencia needed those extra Christmas touches. From the cranberry and gold draping to the rustic holiday centerpieces, ASG produced a warm and welcoming event for the guests.

Whatever the theme of your holiday celebration this year, the team at The All Star Group wishes you a wonderful and safe season and a very happy New Year!

Sharp Hospital Annual All-Staff Assembly

For several years we have had the privilege of partnering with Sharp Hospital here in San Diego to help produce their annual all-staff assembly. It is an event made to inspire, celebrate, encourage, and motivate the amazing staff that works to better the lives of those in our community. Every year we leave feeling so grateful to be able to give back to those who give so much.

The event staff at Sharp is a team that dreams big and challenges us to rise to the occasion. Their themes and content push the realm of our possibility, and we love a challenge. This year they wanted to focus on the ideas of GIVE, HOPE, and CONNECT. ….all focusing on the GREATER GOOD. We made these ideas came to life by building three 50 foot interactive quadrants on the convention floor; one dedicated to each of their themes.

GIVE QUADRANT:

As invitations they sent little brown paper bags to all of their staff and encouraged them to do something good with it (give someone lunch, use it to donate in, etc) We created an interactive quadrant with chalkboards, allowing people to write down what good they did with their paper bag.

CONNECT QUADRANT:

In the CONNECT quadrant we created two 40’ wide walls built on a pulley system, these served as a display board for over 5000 cards. The cards were used as an artistic expression of what the “Sharp Experience” means to each participant. Placed end-to-end the cards connect together into one continuous expression.

HOPE QUADRANT:

As a final idea, Sharp wanted to give their attendees a space to reflect on HOPE. We created a space to reflect by stringing over 3,000 painted muslin strips across the quadrant. Amongst those strips were 100 printed quotes to read and reflect on. While this quadrant was the least interactive, many said the most powerful….and the most beautiful.

We did an additional piece for them in their General Session. As part of their program, they told a story of someone who create origami birds as a symbol of hope. To reinforce this idea of hope, they had each participant fold an origami bird. We built them artistic string walls to place by the exit, as participants left the conference, they placed their bird on the wall creating a beautiful visual.

DJO Global – Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Golf Tournament and Gala

Our good friends at DJO Global tapped us again this year to help them produce their annual Golf Tournament and Gala. This event raises money every year for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation… truly a deserving cause!

The theme of the event was a Mad Men era dinner under the stars and was held at the always stunning, Park Hyatt Aviara Golf Club. ALLSTAR provided sound, staging, lighting as well as some very swanky furniture and centerpiece elements to turn the outdoor driveway into a stylish dining area.

RedMed American Sales Meeting in Dana Point

At the end of August we had the privilege of working, once again, with one of our long-time clients, ResMed on their American Sales Meeting held at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, CA.

The work we did on this event was far and wide including logo animation, video production, stage design, show production, and 6 breakout sessions. In addition, we also provided décor for their Welcome Reception, Hospitality Lounge & Game Room, Beach Themed Dinner, and Awards Dinner. Needless to say, our crew was busy!

For their stage set, ResMed wanted a clean, modern, and sophisticated look. We custom built a unique wave-wall design that incorporated LED under-lit staging. This set was a big hit and created a beautiful backdrop for their various sessions and awards.

Their Welcome Reception was hosted on the grand lawn and featured a flowy and breezy look that complimented the ocean view. Chiffon runner adorned their existing columns and we up-lit with water lighting effects.

This year, we decided to bring the beach to the St. Regis with a Refined Beach Themed Dinner on the Grand Lawn. A bamboo sign with tiki torches welcomed the guest with a custom surfboard sign. Guests dined at tables with khaki linens, bamboo chairs, and unique fruit & floral centerpieces. The highlight of the event for many of the guests was a beach sunset photobooth; it provided for some fun souvenirs from the week. Providing the background music for the event was a steel drum band playing the sounds of the islands.

To finish of their week-long conference was their Awards Dinner. We transformed their general session space into a modern Peir-1 inspired look. We brought in brown pin-tuck linens accented with gold chargers and black & brown chair covers. The centerpieces were a mix of red, golds, and greens on earthy pebbles and wrought iron candelabras. After dinner and awards, they celebrated a great end to a successful event by dancing the night away.

California Correctional Officers Association 35th Annual Convention

This month, The ALLSTAR Group had the honor of producing CCPOA’s convention and Award Dinner for the 5th year in a row!

This year, we helped CCPOA honor their roots and their passion by creating an event centered around the theme of patriotism. Utilizing some of our fantastic in-house stage décor, lighting and AV, we created a beautiful red, white and blue set and stage in the ballroom of the Rio, Las Vegas. The three day event included a general session, 6 breakouts and a final Awards Dinner where the CCPOA members successfully elected a new President of the Union.

Harry Potter Universal Theme Park

In May we had the unique task of bringing the inspiration from the new Harry Potter Universal Theme Park into the ballroom of the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, FL. We created a stage set that when accented with lighting, music, fog, and lasers wowed their guests and set the perfect backdrop for their magical event.

This event was a perfect example of how our unique blend of décor and A/V expertise can work together seamlessly to make a theme and look come together. We hope you are just as enchanted…

Private Bash at UCSD Scripps Forum

Allstar transforms the new UCSD Scripps Forum in La Jolla. We had the pleasure of working with the Grammy award winning artist Keb Mo as we created a hot club atmosphere with dynamic lighting, great audio and creative thematic décor. Allstar’s experienced event logistics team worked with KebMo, catering, décor, lighting and venue resulting in a successful production enjoyed by all who attended.

UCSD 50th Anniversary Founders Day

The UCSD Founders Day Celebration featured one of the newest up and coming musical acts, Far East Movement. They rocked the house under the Audio, Video and Lighting gear provided by ASG.

Show design included a giant LED outdoor screen, Custom muralized tapered scenic walls, multi-leveled stage decking and full production for over 4000 students and VIP guests from around the globe.

This event was challenging due to many components. First, theatrical and heart- warming video’s were created by the ASG production department. Videos featured unique footage of UCSD founders, some filmed at their homes and other videos that featured edited footage from UCSD’s past. We also had a large program that featured speeches, videos, anthems and over 25 live performances during the event all kicked off by the blowing of the famous conch shell by the UCSD mascot.

The event received national media coverage and several accolades.
