The Greatest Gift. Ever.

I meant to post this Saturday, but there was so much going on, I didn't have the time until now.....

One year ago, I was given the greatest gift...ever. I was given the gift of becoming a mom. This past year has been the most fulfilling year of my life. Though I haven't slept in a year, it's been worth every second of tiredness to know that I have been blessed with a wonderful, healthy, goofy little boy. He really does make a hard day at work better. I love his smile and his laugh and just watching the way he plays with his toys gives me so much satisfaction. He truly is the most precious gift I've ever been given, it's hard to believe that I had a life before him. That at one point, I didn't know him. Because now, to not know him, to not have him in my life, I just can't even imagine that. I love you big boy. Happy Birthday.

Holiday Mini: The Kindell Family

Family Session: Harvey Family

I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely family before they left Okinawa. What was so interesting about the Harvey family is that Josh worked for MCCS, the same company that I work for. We worked in the same building as well, just different floors. He has the same name as my hug-a-hubby...and brother. Then, Marty, was in the delivery room next to mine on the same day. Our little boys were born just a few minutes apart, and then they were in the same classroom at the CDC. So it was pretty much destined for me to take their family photos.

4 Years.

4 years. A lot can happen in 4 years. A lot has happened in 4 years. 1 deployment. Several TDYs. 3 fur babies come and gone (I still miss all three of them). 4 Christmas'. 4 birthdays. Promotions. The birth of our first child. And our 4th anniversary. Through all these things, you have been the constant in my life. We have grown together as a couple in so many ways and although we have our "moments", whether they be petty little arguments or life influencing decisions, I know that we will always pull through. Because we are a team. And because we made a promise to never give up on each other no matter the circumstance. So today, today I want to dedicate to us, but especially to you. My best friend, my husband, my airman, the father of my child. Without you, I would not have what I have today and I would not be where I am today. Here's to us, here's to love...here's to you.

It's Been a While!

Wow! It's been so long since I posted! And I actually have a really good excuse as to why.... This whole being a mom, a wife, working a full-time job, and having my photography on the side thing takes a lot of my time! I feel like I'm always on the go, go, go! Caitlin: c/o 2012

I had the pleasure of photographing Caitlin a few weeks ago. Caitlin's mother had contacted me about doing a session for her daughter who is currently a senior in high school. Caitlin attends Kadena HS and after graduation, will be going to Johnson and Wales University to study culinary arts. When Caitlin was younger, she wanted to be a pizza maker...now she wants to be a chef or food critic, so her dreams are along the same lines from when she was little! Culinary Arts is Caitlin's favorite subject since it has helped prepare her for her future. She is also involved in the Culinary Arts Competition Team at her HS. When I asked what her favorite memory was from HS Caitlin explained that she didn't have just one. She's loved all the fun times spent with her friends. Caitlin's favorite quote is: "I like to smile. Smiling's my favorite." by Buddy the Elf, and I must say, she definitely lives by that quote! I hope you enjoy the photos Caitlin and I wish nothing but the best for you and whatever life brings you! Congratulations!

Happy Easter and a 3 Week Vacation!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend! We ended up going to church with my family and having a nice lunch at my parents house. Jaycen also got his first Easter basket from his grandpa and grandma today!

On another note, I will be out of town until the beginning of May so I apologize in advance if I do not reply to your emails right away. We will be in Kentucky visiting Josh's family. I will respond to any emails whenever I get the chance.

Mistakes can be Beautiful

To those who feel discouraged or kicked in the faced...no matter what your passion may be. Don't let anything stop you from what you love. The greatest entrepreneurs are those who made mistakes along the way and learned from them and picked themselves up. If mistakes were never made, we wouldn't have cures for diseases or super yummy foods like chocolate chip cookies and potato chips, or even life changing conveniences like the microwave, ink jet printer, and post-it notes. So with whatever you're doing, if you're making mistakes and learning from them along the way, you're doing it right. Eminem puts it perfectly, "I want to solidify as an artist and show that as I grow as a person and make mistakes and learn from them, I'm going to grow artistically."

This is one of my favorite mistakes.

Life

I know it's been a long time since my last blog post. Let's just blame good ole fashion "life" for my lack of posts. Life has gotten so much busier since having the little man, going back to work full-time, and trying to keep up with my photography. But I'm definitely not complaining. I feel so fulfilled with everything that's going on in my life and couldn't be happier. This is definitely the time of my life. And since the time of my life seems to surround my baby boy, what better way is there to end this post with some of his photos that I've taken throughout the past few months!

These were taken last Thursday when he turned 14 weeks. He was hanging out watching his daddy play a PS3 basketball game.

...And it starts. He sure does love the TV.

Kindell Maternity Session

I'm back!! This was the first session since taking a break to have my wonderful baby boy and I must say, it feels good to be back behind the lens doing photo sessions!

Ashlee and Jack announced their pregnancy a few weeks after we had announced ours and I was super excited to hear their news. I was even more excited when Ashlee asked me to do her maternity photos. I was glad I was actually able to do her photos since I had just had baby Wizini and didn't know if I would feel up to doing them.

The shoot was only a mini session, but we were able to get a few good shots in. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Timothy Jaycen "Jayce" Wiseman! If you're wondering where I've been lately, this will explain everything. I've been preparing for a special little boy. Then this special little boy came into my world on December 15, 2011 at 8:01 pm. What mothers say is definitely true. That you never really know love until you have a child. I love Josh with all my heart, but when I had my little boy...everything changed. I would do anything and everything to keep him safe. He is my world now. A part of me that I will love and cherish forever.

And now, I would like for you to meet Jayce....

So, I've been "missing" for a while, but I have a good excuse.... I was getting ready for a baby and then I had a baby! I haven't posted anything on baby Wizini yet, so this will be the first time I show him off to you all! I didn't have time to send out Christmas cards, so this will have to suffice. Last Day, Thanksgiving Weekend, and Christmas Decorating!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend with family, friends, good food and shopping!!

The last few days have been pretty insane for me. Last Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, was my "last day" of work until after baby Wizini is born and my maternity leave is exhausted. It was bitter sweet since it was also the last day I'll be working with my supervisor, since she is PCSing.

Thursday was of course Thanksgiving, which we spent with my parents and a couple of our friends. Oh, and let's not forget going to the movies later that night and watching Breaking Dawn! Yes...I'm a Twilight fan.

After Thursday, it was mostly shopping, shopping, shopping. But I must say, I was able to buy Christmas presents for the majority of people on our list. We only have about four more people to shop for.

And of course, I can't leave out that we decorated for Christmas! Well, Josh helped with the tree and I did everything else. He was kind of a scrooge last year, so I was surprised at how excited he was when I said that it was time to put up the tree. Maybe it's because we're about to have a baby....

McCullough Family

Last month some friends of mine and Josh left to go back to the states. Before leaving, I was able to do one last session with them. I've had the opportunity to work with them on a couple occasions, the first being Kayla's maternity session and the second was of course a newborn session. I was sad to see them leave, but such is the life of the military. It's a never ending cycle of hello's and goodbye's.

Kayla and Justin, I hope you're enjoying being back home and am glad to have been able to spend the past couple of years getting to know you both. We'll see you again in the future.

37 Weeks and Waiting

So...last Sunday Josh and I had our maternity photos taken and I just can't wait to see them!
