Today is Pancake Tuesday in Dublin so Marianne made some pancakes for staff and students to enjoy!  The Nutella option was very popular and the jar almost ran out before the pancakes…

It just goes to show you that it’s a small world and you can meet people from everywhere in Alpha College!

“The staff at Alpha College of English is kind and when I asked them something, they were always smiling. Every Friday, after we finish the morning class, a staff member gives students some sweets. I thought it is fantastic!

I like the teachers in Alpha. Of course teachers are really kind, friendly and lovely, and their lessons are really interesting and funny. So I could improve my English skills and I also could think again I want to speak English well. I want to thank all my teachers at Alpha. I am happy to meet them and I am lucky to meet them.

My best favourite activity at Alpha College is Irish dancing. It was a lot of fun! The social programme staff is good and they know a lot about Ireland.

My host family was so good to me. There are other students in my host family’s house so you can hear cheerful merry laughters. My host family’s house is better than my house in my country.

I recommend Alpha College of English because teachers are very kind and friendly, and I can make a lot of friends from other countries. I am happy to come here, and I like Alpha College of English”

Mizuki attended Alpha College for one month in 2011, she follows us on Facebook, and she is planning to come back to Alpha this summer!

Sung-Bae comes back to Alpha

We had a great surprise this afternoon when our former student Sung-Bae Lee dropped in to say Hi.

Sung-Bae was a student in Alpha 5 years ago and has since gone on to work in the television industry in his native Korea.  While he was studying with us he always said his dream was to work as a television presenter so we couldn’t be happier to see he has realised that dream!

He says while he was here he picked up a bit of the Irish humour and still listens to Irish radio stations over the internet while he is at home!  He also says he improved his English!

Today is my last day in the school and I feel so happy to have taken the decision to come to Ireland for 6 months to improve my English.

When I arrived here, for the first month, I didn’t understand when other people spoke.  Now my English is very good.

The people, in general, in the school are so friendly.  Teachers, manager, all the people!  If I could stay longer it would be fantastic, but I need to go back home and start working again.

I’m a pilot and I miss flying but in a few weeks I will be back in the air.

We had our student and staff party just before we closed for Christmas.  The students sang some fantastic Christmas songs with Fergus leading the way on the guitar.
