I Really Like Him - Now What?!

Ok, so lets admit it. There are some times when you meet a guy and you are "Just So INTO Him".

You met, had a great time, really enjoyed his company and now your all caught up in fantasizing what a great boyfriend he will be, where you will get married and the names of your future children.

Some of you may laugh ... but very often this is the trap that a lot of women fall into.

Maybe not so much to that extreme, but when we like a guy most of the time, we are at least sizing him up, of how great he will be in a relationship, in the your life and in bed =)

Most of the time, we are jumping about 10 years ahead and thinking about what it would be like to grow old together and yet you still don't even know his last name.

You are thinking of marrying the guy and you don't even know his favorite food or that really irritating habit he has of biting his finger nails that you simply cannot stand.

So what am I getting at exactly?

Well I’m simply pointing out the number one pitfall women fall into when they are totally into a guy.

DELUSIONAL FANTASIZING and LOOKING WAAAAAAAAAAY TOO FAR AHEAD.

I will admit it happens to the best of us =) So now I want to equip you women with some tips, tricks and exercises that will keep you usefully occupied when you find yourself wearing some big "rose-tinted" glasses.

1) Keep it real. Make sure to take everything at face value. Don't be looking into everything.

Like for example. "He called me at this time and spoke to me for 4.25 minutes and that must mean he is really into me" *Squeals!*

Don't start comparing how he was acting when you were with him and how he is acting now.

Take everything in the present moment. If he was funny when you met him and doesn't seem to be so much, accept that this is his current mood or that he isn't as funny as you first thought.

Don't get all caught up thinking he was a person that he really wasn't.

2) Get a life. Don't be waiting by the phone for him to call you or talk to you. Go do something, anything! Arrange to go meet up with some of your friends. Go do that thing you have been procrastinating over for the past week. Go read a book, go for a walk, take a bubble bath, watch grass grow ...

You see its all about enjoying life. Making the most out of it. Replenishing yourself, so that you have more of yourself to give when you finally get the chance to talk to him.

3) Write it out. Writing is therapeutic. Can you tell by this blog? I have a journal which I right in almost everyday. If someone got their hands on it, I think I would have to shoot them. Because in that journal are all my fears, thoughts and feelings about myself and my life.

I write in there when I'm happy, I write in there when I'm sad or just have something to share.

You see if you get it all out there on the paper, then you can work through those thoughts, instead of taking it out on other people or holding onto them.

4) Talk it out. You know sometimes girls, you just feel insecure. It happens. But you know what? That’s what you have girlfriends for. So if you feel yourself wanting to stay at home by the phone or sit in your room daydreaming, pick up the phone and talk to one of your many girlfriends and let them know what is going on.

Now I’m sure you don't need me to tell you, how to talk. I think this is something that all of us women have mastered hands down.

So you get out there .. and do what your best at!

5) Reason it out. Now I know the phrase "be logical" may seem like a paradox to us women, but we can do it ... trust me!

Sometimes its good to sit down and have a think about what exactly you are attracted to in him.

Sometimes when we fall the hardest, its for the worse type of men. You know the players, the bad asses and so on.

you know this when you sit down to do your thinking about what you like about them .... and your dumbfounded for like the next hour.

Because there is something about them that you just can't put your finger on.

Usually it goes along the lines of "Yeh I dunno, I just really like him ...... *blank stare*".

Now in that case, it can be a very tricky situation - irrational levels are high, logical levels are low and caution lights should be flashing.

Why? because there could be like 5 other girls just like you, who feel the exact same way about him ... who are also having the same conversations in their head, with the same blank stares.

So all I’m saying ladies is that you might have to prepare for a little competition.

Which leads to rule number 6) Fight it out!

But hey .... who doesn't love a cat fight. Let the games begin =)

I Go On Dates ... With My Brother

Haha, caught your attention there didn't I?

Well you all must be thinking – what in the world does she mean?

HAF are u telling me, that you take your brother with you on dates?

No, no ... wait ... actually he has been on a group date with me once, but does that really count?

No I mean ... I hang out with my brother. Just him and me and we have a great time together. Whether it be going to the movies, cooking at home, or going bush walking, I spend some good quality time with him.

We bond the most when we both do ski patrolling in the winter season.

Its kind of cool to be close to your brother. Its cool to be close to the people in your life. Its cool to spend not only time, but good quality time with the people you care about.

I'm not talking about .. hey lets just hang out, when its convenient. I mean actually scheduling time, prioritizing the important people in your life.If you don't want to make a priority to see them, how important are they to you really?

If I hit a nerve .. well I'm sorry. But it makes you think doesn’t it?

Anyways where am I going with this? So it made me think. Dating and healthy personal relationships. Do they go hand in hand?

Can you have your dating life in the gutter but amazing personal relationships around you??

And the more important question.

Can you have an amazing dating life and have all your other personal relationships in the gutter??

Well let me tell you what I think, even though the answer looks blindingly obvious to me.

Dam straight they go hand in hand!!

You hear the typical argument ... Where life seems out of balance. You love work, but neglect your partner. You love your partner but your not following your ambitions. Your family life and business life are great but your health is shot to pieces.

Life is a balancing act. I take it to heart now, when mum tells me "Everything In Moderation".

I've learned to listen to her too. I tell you she is right like 99.9% of the time. I'm still working on the 0.01%, I will find something dammit!!

But see to me; dating and your friends and family all fall under the same category.Its about people and how you relate to them. I don't care, who they are. How you do one thing, is how you do everything.

So when you yell at your partner or get frustrated easily, you may say ... Its only with him or her.But is it really? You sure you don't do the same with your friends and family.

So I heard from one of the interviews David D conducted with a guy whose name slips my mind at this moment and this is what he said about women in specific.

That you can tell the maturity level of a female by the emotional boundaries she sets herself. Meaning to say that when things start to go wrong with her boyfriend, she doesn't take it out on her best friend. When things go wrong with her family she doesn't expect her boyfriend to solve that problem for her.

There are boundaries and each entity operates within each boundary.

So maybe that seems like I'm contradicting what I just said in the previous paragraph, but maybe I’m not.

Because if you have good, strong boundaries for your partner, for your friends and for your family .. even though they all fall under personal relationships, when something happens with one entity ... not all people are affected.

That’s emotional maturity right there. Some women who are in their 20s have it. Some women in there 50s still don't. Its nothing to do with age and possibly a little to do with experience, willingness to learn and a lot of personal growth.

Why and how can I talk about this? Well simply because maybe I've realized .. I've got a bit of growing up to do =)

So where have I been?

That could be a very valid question.

To be honest life has been a little crazy.

Recently I just came out of hospital. Never been to hospital for an illness before in my life and don't see why I had to start now.

But here I am ... and now I'm out and willing to share with you my thoughts and my reflections.

Hopefully we will all learn something new.

So firstly what was the reason why I was in there? Well nothing too life threatening.

Just a severe case of tonsillitis, which could have potentially blocked my airway.

Not to mention the fact that I couldn't put anything into my mouth, it was excruciating to swallow anything and I was getting very dehydrated.

So 3 days later and more fluid and drugs pumped through me than a local pharmacy, I'm alive, kicking and feeling better than ever.

ok well not better than ever.

But hey I'm getting there. Well enough to write a decent post for you guys that’s for sure.

So what did I learn while I was in there?

Well two things.

One about commitment. And the other about self care.

The second is pretty obvious isn't it?

But the first one, that one was thrown out of left field a little huh?

Well you all know that I love throwing you off balance? hehe

So what you may not know is that I was feeling pretty crook about 3 weeks ago, for the same thing with my throat.

I got over it and then spent a week, not practicing self care, filled with eating at random times, too much stress, too much going out and not enough sleep.

There were a couple of stressful assignments, walks in the drizzling rain and seminars squeezed in there which all required a lot of mental and physical exertion.

This one seminar I did go was absolutely life-changing though. I would pretty much come home every night for 3 nights in a room and tweet all the random and wonderful epiphanies I was having.

I can't tell you all the random and wonderful things that we did while we were there one the last night we had a Q and A section where 10 people from the audience got to ask any question they wanted.

So naturally. I had a question.

Ready for it?

How do you commit to something?

So I asked this question and the crowd laughed. I was like ... is the answer more obvious than I think it is?

So I added to it and asked, well how do you re-enforce that commitment?

So there was my question, sitting up there on the board staring at me.

What I didn't know at the time, was that for every question that was asked you had a mini - intervention, where you had to answer more questions about your question.

So as I was waiting for the speaker to get to my question, I was starting to get a little anxious.

Anxious that he was going to get me to commit something that I didn't want to or say stuff that I didn't exactly want to share in front of 150 people.

And then ....

It was my turn.

I got the microphone (which was an easy thing for me now)

And this was our conversation

Him: Jennifer, in order to re-enforce commitment, you first have to commit to something.

Me: Well what do you mean?

Him: Name one area that you would like to commit to.

Me: I don’t want to commit to anything

Him: Yes I know.

And by this time I’m thinking. Dammit commitment. I can't even commit to those 24 month phone contracts. Seriously they like ask you for money every month and there are exit fees if you want to exit early. Its like jail.

Him: See the reason why you haven't committed to anything, is because there hasn't been anything that you have ever really wanted.

Me: hmmmmmmm (shite)

Him: If you don't want to commit to something for yourself, then why not do something for your family?

What is something that you really wanted to do?

blah blah back and forth and we decided that I would commit to take my entire family over to Japan next year on a ski trip by Jan 2010.

But see that conversation was so much more than just that.

I walked out of there, thinking, what in my life have a I truly ever committed to?

And what would my life look like if I gave something 1000%.

I mean we all talk a big game, but how many of us actually live that?

It was a huge wake up call for me. A real big smack on the face.

Then like 4 days later, I was smack sick as anything in hospital, which gave me a lot of time to think.

Before that though, when I got home, I got out my journal and started writing out a list of things that I would 1000% commit to.

No excuses. No turning back.

I wrote out a list of commitments that I would eventually integrate into my daily life.

And you know which one was the biggest one for me?

Its about boys, so your going to love it.

Ok here it is .. don't laugh. Or do. Whatever.

"To date only men that are emotionally available who have the potential to become a long term boyfriend".

Now it seems simple right?

I mean what is so hard about writing that commitment.

Well its a lot harder, when you didn't even know that you were a commitment phobe or that you were going after or attracting emotionally unavailable men.

But I committed to that.

That’s one of my main commitments. And so far I have lived up to that.

As part of the commitment formula its also important to re-enforce that with immediate action.

So right then and there I like write down a list of people that I needed to cut out of my life, because they just weren't what I was looking for.

And I did it. I cut them out of my life. That night.

And can I tell you, it was one of the best most liberating feelings in the world.

See I used to think that committing to something, would create a whole new world of fears.

I always thought, hey if you commit to something, there are things that you will be required to do that you don’t want to do.

Therefore if you commit to something, you expose yourself to more fearful situations.

But here is the thing.

When you just commit, burn your bridges .... you shed all doubt within you mind.

Because there is only one option now. Forward.

There is no sideways. There is no backwards. Just straight ahead.

Committing sheds your fears, gives your clarity and puts you in exactly the right direction that you need to go.

You should all try it sometime.

Ok I just had the biggest lesson of a life time. It has to do with perfectionism and being able to handle rejection.

So here is the thing. Sorry if I have not gotten back to some of your comments and thoughts lately I have been in the lovely Goldcoast having a great time with my bestfriend to celebrate her 22nd Birthday.

There are a whole bunch of stories there, which I will have to share with you another time.

Just before that I was working at the Health Expo as a promotions girls to help promote this website http://www.meetyourpersonaltrainer.com.au which will be launching in like 2 days!

SO as you know with any type of promotions you have to get out there engage with people, capture interest and close the sale.

In many respects it would be similar to a guy approaching a girl and attempting to get her interest.

Well here is what I experienced first hand! Man now I know exactly what it feels like to be a guy, and how hard approaching girls can be.

So this is what happened to me and how I overcame it.

Basically we were told our sales targets and we knew how many signups we needed and how many people's names we needed to get.

Now I'm still one of those people that needs to work on being able to handle the pressure. Coz right now I crumble like there is no 2moro.

Its pathetic. But hey you live and learn.

So because I knew that there were these sales targets and I felt like I needed to get something out of these people, the interactions and the responses that I was getting were pretty pathetic aye.

A whole bunch of people walked passed me and I gave this half assed approach. It was pathetic. So anyways one of the owners, then comes up to me and says this.

Him: "Jen, how you going?"

Me: *Nervous laugh* " Yeh not bad".

Him: "Whatcha doing Jen? ... Your looking like a Sales person right now."

Me: "Are you serious? I can't stand Sales people and I don't even like being sold to".

Him: "You just need to relax and be yourself. Jen you are the most outgoing person I know, just have a conversation with them, you are not selling them anything. All you are doing is raising awareness."

Me: "Just be myself, have a conversation. Ok I can do that".

Result.

In the next 30 minutes I signed up 2 people to their website.

So what changed?

Well if you can't tell from the conversation, I stopped coming from the mindset of wanting something from these people.

In a very big way, I was being needy. What is being needy? Wanting or expecting something from someone.

This comes down the basics of approaching women or approaching anyone in particular. If you go to get ... you get nothing in return.

But if you go to give, you get everything.

So instead of standing there looking and sounding like a sales girl, I just started to interact with people.

This is one of the best approaching techniques around.

I found what worked best for me, was using something in the environment and using that to strike up a conversation. So I would grab someone and point to their shirt, something that they were doing or holding. Whatever was around them and bring it back to them.

Because lets face it, people love to talk about themselves. So get them talking about themselves and then they are more willing to hear what you have to say.

Whether it be making a sale, or approaching a woman, the most important thing is that you need to develop the rapport.

If you don't have the rapport, you have nothing.

Remember that one.

So what else did I learn? Well this next part is a very important lesson. But you guys are going to have to tune in on Monday!!

But it has to do with how my best friend was able to kick my ass in laser squirmish, even though she has terrible aim and has never played before in her life. haha

Ok so a lot of you guys email me asking me how you can overcome rejection.

I've made video posts, blog entries and talked myself black and blue about how to overcome it.

Recently I just had an experience which put me back in line with that fear. And really allowed me to empathize and relate with you guys more.

In fact. I spend the last 3 days dealing with rejection severely. And it made me remember how gripping that fear was.

Because here is the thing, rejection is something that we are not only going to experience when it comes to the dating arena, its related to every other part of your life.

Business, family, career, social .... you name it ... fear of rejection is hidden in there somewhere.

Life is all about figuring out what you want and then developing to courage to go out and get it!

So in the next blog post coming out on Monday, I'm going to share with you, how I did have to approach and get rejected to many strangers, hot strangers might I add ... and how in the end I was able to overcome this approach anxiety and reach my desired outcome.

Easter Weekend Spectacular Part 2

So we are at this restaurant which is practically like the only restaurant in open in the entire street besides KFC and McDonalds.

So we go in and its packed and there are literally like only 2 waiters and a couple of the kitchen hands. We ask if there are any tables and there doesn't seem to be any.

Just as we are about to leave the waiter notifies us that there is a table hidden around the corner. We check it out and realize that its like prime position and so we grab the last table left in the restaurant.

Still a little distraught that there will be no dancing tonight, we commiserate by ordering lots of food, with no thought of expense.

So we order and the food comes and just as we are digging in, we see one of the waiters come over to our table and stands near us with a nervous look on her face. We ask her what is wrong and she tells us that she is hiding from the police because she doesn't have the proper licensing to be a restaurant waitress. Yes in Australia, you need a license for pretty much everything .. Lets just say that I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't need a license soon to use public toilets or something.

So we chat to her, find out what is going on and try and calm her down because she is fairly distraught. We do all of this while eating, drinking and socializing.

My best friend and I are thinking, this has been a pretty interesting night so far and after the police have left and the waitress has calmed down we are ready to get going.

Before we have a chance to get the bill both of the waiters serving our table inform us .. that our bill has been settled an thank us for helping them out.

I look over at my friend, who has the biggest smile on her face of complete disbelief, we offer to pay again, but they refuse and we give both of them a hug and head off.

Its now 1am in the morning and we are deciding what we should do next. We could go home. OR we could go to star city. Its Sydney casino and is open 24/7.

Thinking that we have been bloody lucky so far, we think, yeh "why not?!".

By this time the streets are deserted and the city is looking like a little bit of a ghost town. Sydney nightlife is great, but at the same time, it kinda sucks (that’s a technical term). Everything is like on lockdown by like 1-3am in the morning depending on where you go.

When we get to Star City our jaws drop. This is where all the people are! Its packed to the rims, the bars are pumping, all the tables are full. It was like the whole of Sydney crammed into the casino!! It was on!!

So my best friend has this thing, that when she is at the casino with her friends she loses money. I personally think its all in her head ... but hey whatever makes her happy.

Neways we had no intention of gambling, we just wanted to get free drinks which you are entitled to over there and to spend more time hanging out.

As we are walking down the isles ... I see someone(I don't know who) drop a $10 chip on the floor.

I see it and then go and pick it up. I stand there for like 2 minutes, trying to find someone to claim it, so I can give it back to them.

One of the dealers on the table catches my eye and says "finder's keepers".

I look over to my best friend, who has that same look of disbelief on her face .. and we just think we are having a great night.

So we split our $10 chip into 2 $5 chips and just see how we go.

We end up splitting up and she goes off to the roulette tables and I go to this spinney wheel thing.

So here I am now, in my clubbing outfit at the casino, essentially by myself.

People are staring left right and centre, I'm feeling my safety can be compromised at any point in time, so defenses are running quite high.

So I’m at the table and there are essentially only two points at which I could enter this table. One from the left and one from the right.

One the left hand side is the seediest guy I have ever seen in my life. He has been literally staring non stop at me since I got to the table and I'm getting stalkers vibes from him.

One the right hand side I see 3 guys probably in their late 20s being a little loud and obvious.

I'll choose young loud crazy people over old stalkers looking guys any day.

So I stand behind them, watching the wheel, so I can get a feel for what I'm going to bet on.

I kid you not, as I'm standing there, they all start nudging eachother and talking amongst themselves and looking back at me and staring.

I'm literally like 1 meter away from them as they are doing this.

So by now I’m quite irritated and sick of feeling like an object that is just looked and pointed at all night ... I look up at one of them and say "Way to make it obvious" with a bitchy look on my face.

They don't seem too fazed by my response and continue talking to me anyways. lol

So 10 minutes later they are all like my best buddies and I have my best friend coming in and checking on me like every 30 minutes.

The latest report so far was that she was down a fair bit. Like 300. I tell her its time to go. She wanders off again, before I can stop her.

Then 10 minutes later .. she comes back with a man in tow. I'm thinking to myself .. ohhh man she has this guy attached to her now, which is going to use ME and the 3 guys I just met, to get rid of him.

She warmly introduces him to me and then informs me with a smile on her face that she just won $1800 - with money that wasn't even hers.

I'm like .. "waaaaaaat??!!"

Apparently she met this guy at the table and said a certain number was going to pay out.

He followed her lead .. backing it with a $100 chip 3 times and nothing happened.

Then with his last chip he puts it on the same number ... and before they know if it wins he tells her .. if we win, we are splitting the winnings. She agrees. Their number comes up. They win $3600 and he splits it with her.

She introduces him to me ... and he says hello and then says he is very grateful she gave him the heads up and says he is going to head home and he does so with a massive smile on his face.

And that was it …

My best friend shares the winnings with me.

By this time is it like 4am in the morning, we figure our luck has run out and we catch a cab back to where my car is parked and head home.

All in all ... a very interesting spontaneous and profitable night.

With absolutely no strategy whatsoever.

The preceding days were filled with boat parties, clubbing, group dates, Max Brenner, no drinking, very late nights/early mornings and a whole lot of fun, laughing, dinning and flirting.

All in all that Easter was SPECTACULAR and it taught me that NO STRATEGY IS THE BEST STRATEGY OF THEM ALL.

Crazy Easter Spectacular Part 1

To be honest I was saying to myself, I'm going to take it easy this weekend. I literally did not have anything planned. But here is the thing that I have noticed about not planning.

When you "see how it goes" and have no expectations what so ever, you end up having some of the best, most memorable experiences of a lifetime. Literally if I had sat down on Thursday night and tried to think of all the cool and random things that were going to precede that weekend ... I think my brain would have exploded.

And you think I joking. Isn't that cute…..

So literally I'm going to do a recap of my Friday night. I'm going to go into as much detail as I can and then maybe give you a quick recap of my entire weekend without too much detail, because lets face it.

I don't kiss and tell. If you didn't notice already.

If you want some of those stories, head over to Honey and Lance coz those guys do a better job at that, then I ever could! (haha love you guys).

Plus my dad reads this blog .. I think.

And you know, I actually don't have some twisted dysfunctional relationship with my dad. I actually like him. We get along... most ... some ... of the time, when he doesn't patronize me.

So its Friday night and I have done the family rounds of visiting every relative I could have humanly possibly known and eaten more than my stomach could handle.

Very typical. Especially if your Asian. Especially if you are like me. So I’m at home now, relaxing, not particularly wanting to do anything or go anywhere.

My lovely mother then after having a very foreign language conversation on the phone informs me, that I now have to go dinner with more “relatives” to “eat.”

I give her an .. "are you serious??!" look.

She sympathizes with me, and then tells me I have to go.

Me being not so happy about this, start explaining to her, in a tone of voice that may be a little more irritated than usual, that I do not want to go.

These family dinner happen a couple times a month. My brother who has a girlfriend has not attended one since like 6 months ago. He is always missing out on family occasions, because he is doing something with his girlfriend.

Just because I don't have anything on that night and I'm not away with my "ONE" and only boyfriend, I have basically attend for him.

Not fair. Quite immature, but I was annoyed.

So I call up my best friend who I previously just msged and said that I didn't feel like going out. And then asked her, “do you wanna go out?”

She laughs, because she is obviously used to my insanity and the fact that I never feel like doing anything, before I go and do it.

She says its on, I get out of a family dinner pick her up in my car and we head off to the city.

Might I add before, that its also really annoying going to certain family occasions because I think that every single one of my cousins in Australia is like in a long term relationship right now. Except for me. Like I don't actually think any of my older uncle an aunties understand what dating is ... where you are seeing a lot of guys, but just haven't picked a poor sucker to drag to on family occasions.

That’s for the extremely privileged.

So anyways ... I'm in the car with my girlfriend and start to taste and smell the freedom lingering in the air.

Its 8:30pm and the night is still very very very young.

So mind you this ...its me and my best friend heading out on EASTER FRIDAY and expecting to go clubbing in the city.

Keep that in your mind, because it comes to play like ohhhh a couple of hours down into our night.

So we get to the city and we are still alive. I was driving and this is a very good outcome.

We head down to George street and the streets are pumping but not really.

I mean there are people and there are people in the clubs but not as many as we thought there should be.

So the night was still early and as we were walking down George street we came across our favorite place in the world.

Wait for it……

Galaxy world.

Yep.

You did just read that right.

And I’m not going to hold my head in shame either. Coz there are a lot of things I get excited about in life and this is one of them.

Now I’m sure you guys know of the game we were playing. And its the one where you trade your money for tokens and then put these tokens into the machine to push more tokens down and hopefully in the process win a prize that is NO WHERE NEAR worth the amount of money you just poured into this machine.

Whoa that was a really crappy definition so I’m going to see if I can find a picture. Actually come to think of it, next time I have a night out I will take pictures so you guys can really see it all. Then I won't have to tell you. I'll just show you =)

And I'm sorry, Google just isn't helping me out today. But if anyone thinks they know what I’m talking about, send me a link to the picture. lol.

Anyways so we play this game not to win the prizes but just because it so dam fun, trying to win the prizes. You know that saying that goes along the lines of "its about the journey not the destination" well the same applies to these token machines.

So we use all our money. And we are like, should we stay or should we go. Then we see a guy who is doing really well on these machines. He has got both hands loaded full of token coins and there is like loads and loads of them spilling out of the machine.

Its all very exciting. So we watch him. Coz we are just fascinated and I don't know about you. But I like to watch. lol

Take that how you will.

He then notices us watching and starts talking to us. Can't remember what he said or who said what, but we made friends with him and ended up getting to play with all his tokens with him.

We won four watches with all his money and he gave them all to us, because apparently he just does it for the fun of it.

Then at the end of it, he said it was a pleasure meeting us and headed off. Now this is just a side note, but I'll put it in here for the “guys”.

There is something really attractive about someone who interacts with you and doesn't want anything at the end of it. I am more impressed with a guy who can you can have a great conversation or interaction with and at the end ... he doesn't ask you for your number and he can treat it like a once off interaction. A guy who has no expectations. Because here is the thing, expectations kill the mood and only disappoint.

Of course you have to have standards blah blah, but having certain expectations of how things should happen and work out, leaves no ROOM for you to thoroughly enjoy the present situation that is in front of you.

You end up being in your head instead of interacting with your life and dealing with what comes your way.

Ok side note over.

So my friend and I are very happy. We just managed to have so much fun, with someone else's money and obtain the prizes too.

Now we are in a great mood to dance.

So we walk enthusiastically over to one of the bars in the street that just an hour or 2 ago was pumping and full of people. We look in and the chairs are stacked on the tables and the place is deserted. We then look out on the street and realize that there is practically NO-ONE on the street ....

Now here is the only one thing about being young. You don't know shite. You think the world is bigger, better and revolves around you, when it so clearly doesn't.

Awareness is the first step right?

So as we are trying to figure out why a club would close so early on a Easter Friday a policeman walks up to us and tell us that all the clubs along the street closed at 10pm.

I look at my watch. 11:15pm. Crap.

I look at my best friend who is just waiting for a reaction from me and I say " I can't believe we just game up clubbing for galaxy world!!".

She sympathies with me and the asks me .. lets eat....

I avidly agree with her all is well and we head off ...

What happens after that, made our night and many more to come! ....

Crazy Easter Spectacular Preview

So as you know it was Easter has come, gone and been left in the dust.

Until next year that is.

Usually it involves a night out, time with family and an excess of chocolate which you don’t and wouldn't normally eat.

Where do I start. I think I'll tell you about my Friday, since that was a beginning of it all, which set the tone for pretty much the whole super extended weekend.

Now before I go on, I will say that I didn't spend excessive amounts of money nor did I drink, nor did I use my flirting abilities to get free drinks, food or money.

To my knowledge anyway....

If you want to get better with approaching women, interacting with women or better yet getting better in any area of your life, you are going to have to fail and the faster you fail the better.

Not the advice you were hoping for right?

Well you know what?

I reckon there is a huge worldwide conspiracy circulating out there right now.

And here it is.

We all talk about how great success is, the benefits of it and are given a 10 day system on how to achieve it.

All that advice is effective right? *cough*

So here is the conspiracy. Everyone wants success, but not everyone is willing to sacrifice to achieve it.

You know why?

Because success is made to look easy!

You know what?

If success was so dam easy, then why isn't 99.9% of the population successful in their endeavors?

Why do more than 80% of business fail in their first year?

Why do only 10% of the male population get 80% of the girls? (I just made up that statistic, but its prolly half true).

Because success is a formula and part of that formula is called "failing forward".

I used to think that success was just making all the right moves at the right time. Well it is. But how do you know what the right move is, when you have never made a wrong move?

How do you know what the right time is, when you have never done something in REALLY bad timing.

You know what I think of failure?

I reckon it just makes some really funny stories to tell in front of your life.

I think it makes your life interesting and unique.

I mean come-on ... you could have battles with your mates on how got rejected the worst by a girl.

If rejection is what u are scared of.

EVERYTHING IS KIND OF FUNNY IN HINDSIGHT.

I pretty much went to a Chris Howard Seminar and made a complete fool outta myself in front of 2000 people. And not in a good way. I thought they were going to ask me to leave. lol.

And you know what, its going to make a really good story .. one day ... somewhere ... haha.

So here’s the thing guys.

Why are you guys frustrated, annoyed or confused as to where you are at?

Its because instead of being out there, asking, interacting, flirting, teasing with all the available girls out there, you are sitting at home writing me emails on how to get the perfect approach.

You know what?

Don't be afraid to appear to look like a complete FOOL!!! The more foolish and idiotic you look the better!!

So get out there ... get the girl or the rejection and lets start stacking those awesome stories!!!

I'm sitting here, thinking ... gawd am I actually seriously helping these people.

I mean my dating life isn't necessarily perfect (there's that word, better watch out for it). I'm not in the perfect relationship right now. My life isn't perfect.

Why would I be qualified to be writing a dating and attraction blog. Like really?

My crappy conclusion was that I simply wasn't. And that I would have to achieve all those things, in order to start writing again.

So that was it.

HAF gone bye bye.

Disappeared for however long I did, on a quest to make my life perfect.

Now I don’t know if any of you have been in pursuit of perfection, but its a pretty frustrating journey and I don't recommend it.

But you know that quote, "how you do one thing is how you do everything?".

So I went and looked at the other areas in my life where I was having this same attitude, which really was holding me back.

I found area after area of places I didn't even want to try, because I thought I couldn't be perfect at it, or I couldn't get it right the first go.

But how crazy is that?!

How many of you have actually been superbly excellent at something that you have only tried once?!

Well I have and its called a fluke and it doesn't happen very often.

In fact when you get one ... you pretty much end up worse than before, because you know that you can get the results you want, but you have no freaken clue on how to go and get that.

So you wanna know the final empowering meaning I got from it all?

Your gonna love this.

And hopefully it means as much to you as it does to me.

Then again .. it could just be a bunch of words on a screen.

Each in their own time.

I can't actually explain in one succinct sentence. So I’ll do it in one succinct paragraph.

In regards to me writing this blog. I figured, there is NO POSSIBLE way I would have even started this blog if I DIDN'T have a far from perfect dating life, or have been in FAR FROM PERFECT relationships.

I would be the girl who fluked it. Who had all the great stuff and no REAL idea of how I got it.

And I think that is one of the worse positions to be. You know why? Because you are completely ignorant.

Let me ask you this question.

Would you rather win/inherit a $million or know how to create $million?

So the reason why I am back here and the words are flowing out faster than I can type, is because I have become just that little bit more aware of why I am here, typing away, helping you guys.

I have come to appreciate the fact that its my far from perfect dating life, from my far from perfect past experiences and my insatiable curiosity of the dating game and of life that have lead me here to being right in front of you, sharing these words.

Nothing like a meaning like that to get all my mental juices flowing.

So I’m back and better than ever.

But now I guess you guys are wondering. Ohh that’s great HAF your back. Yay *unenthusiastically*

But what in the world does this have to do with women and those dam emails you were talking about?

Ok,

So the emails lately have been stacking up and I can't seem to get back to everyone.

Sorry. I'm doing the best with the time that I have.

Now here is the thing.

I'm getting all these emails for you guys and they all seem to be boiling down to one thing.

Here is an example of what they usually resonate along.

"I have this girl .. blah blah blah ... what exactly should I say or do next"

That pretty much boils down to it. And you guys send me all these emails, with all these slight variations.

Usually my responses are not very situation specific.

Why not?

Because whether this girl may be your friend, neighbor, co worker, boss, whatever ... it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter how long you have know her, what you've done in the past, how smart she thinks you are, how dumb she thinks you are ...

None of it matters.

Because you guys are all missing the big fat picture here.

That is a shinning, blinking, flashing obvious sign, which I'm going to share with you here, right now.

Now its really simple .. so I don't want any hate mail.

The perfect girl, pickup, approach, situation DOES not and never will exist.

Ok and I have to be honest here.

This kind of relates to both men and women. So girls if you are about to walk away. Then please stay. Because the only reason why I can write about this, is because I have directly experienced and learnt this in my own life. So bear with me!!

Like I said before. Guys ask me, what should I say? How do I get her to like me? What’s the right time to approach her?

I would say probably yesterday when you were twiddling your thumbs and since you can't time travel then I would SAY RIGHT NOW!!

Guys, girls, we are living too much in our heads and not enough in our lives. Our minds are AMAZING and they can pretty much rationalize our way out of ANYTHING!!

The only way in which you are truly going to be able to combat this, is to actually ACT before the rationalization sets in.

Now let me give you a round about real life example.

If you haven't noticed, I have not been around lately.

Literally I have posted like 3 posts in the last 2 months or something.

Pathetic I know. I was getting emails that went along the lines of HAF where the HECK are you?!!

To be honest, I was in a weird place. For a second I totally and utterly lost my passion for writing.

I would literally sit in front of my laptop and be in agonizing mental pain, trying to get something out of my brain and onto the keyboard.

You don’t know how many nights I had to spend doing that, so much so .. that going to sit at my laptop was too much mental work.

So what was the cause of this and what realization (which is related to this post did I come to?)

Well I lost my passion, because I encountered this small thing called "self doubt"............

Girls love drama. They love to watch drama. They love to live drama. They love to date with drama.

My best friend. Complete Drama queen. God love her.

Now that statement is actually pretty dam profound. All the women I know love drama, heck I used to indulge in it all the time!!

It makes the relationships exciting, it gives me something to do, puts the spice into life(obviously I needed to get out more)

Well that was about 2 years ago when I discovered that having a dramatic romantic life, was really not all it set out to be.

At the end of the day it left me feeling cold, empty, unfulfilled along with a track record of broken relationships to prove it.

You know the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again ... expecting a different result?

Yeh I didn't want to go down that path and somewhere, somehow I got my hands on this book "Dating without Drama". To be honest it was one of the first e-book I ever purchased and ever read online EVER!

Huge right?

Why Be So Dramatic?
So how in the world do we create drama ? Let me list the reasons here.

*Having the conversation - You know where you ask the guy, "where is this going" or "you better marry me, or we should break up".

*Freaking out when a guy doesn't call you after a date and wondering "Should I call him first?", thinking lets get it over and done with!

*Controlling your boyfriend to get him to be or behave like someone which isn't true to him

*Anal-yzing about whether he likes me, wants me, what he really means.

*Wanting things to move faster or slower than the current pace.

*Having endless conversations with your girlfriends about what is wrong with your date, boyfriend ...

*Trying and failing miserably to make an emotionally unavailable man committed to you.

*Sleeping with men too early in hopes that it will get them into a long term relationship

*Overall just manipulating men

*Staying in a emotionally, physically or spiritually abusive relationship

Any of you girls relating to this? Any of you guys dated a girl like this?

How To Be Less Dramatic
If there was one thing I could say, it would be that men all appreciate a woman is who not “High Maintenance” in this area.

Just like women don’t like needy men. Men Especially don’t like needy women!!

So if there was one piece of relationship advice I learnt from this book it was that I have to calm the heck down! I was one of those girls that was never happy with the situation in front of me. Whatever it was, it wasn't good enough, could be improved on or had to be changed.

Can you imagine how hard it would have been for guys to date me?! Seriously.

Paige doesn't just talk a whole bunch of dating tips and rules. She gives you standards to live by. Ways of respecting and building your self-esteem.

So reading this book and applying her philosophies, really allowed me to learn to date in a healthy, safe and non-dramatic way.

I got all my excitement from engaging with my life more. Doing things I love, spending time with people I cared about and pursuing my passions(dating just happens to be one of them).

I also started to choose men which had personalities were interesting enough to keeping me engaged so I didn't feel the need to create uncertainty and drama.

And as you know the rest is history and now the tables have turned and I get pages of emails from readers and phone calls from my girlfriends asking me for some perspective.

Who would ever think?

Applying this into my life and being able to help all of those around me has been on of the greatest gifts this book has given me =)

Potential Drawbacks
So that was all the fun and dandy stuff about that. I'm actually doing my best to think about some drawbacks of the books or any comments I have about it.

I guess the one thing I would have to mention is like all books and all new learning material is that there is no point in just reading the book and saying " whoa that was good" and then doing what you have always done.

For you to get the results ... To get the guy, to improve your current relationship you are going to have to take some action of your own.

You know, get a little out of that comfort zone. Because if you have always done, what you have always done, then you will always get, what you have always gotten.

Bachelor 13 – Jason Mesnick ... What He Did Was GREAT!

So for all those of you that watched the latest bachelor 13 with Jason Mesnick, you are either in one of three places.

You are angry. You are happy. Or you really just don't care.

So for those of you that are ready that are clueless to what I'm talking about, let me briefly bring you up to speed.

Jason Mesnick. A very eligible bachelor, divorcee with a 4 year old son who was dumped by the bachelorette in the previous series, goes out to find love on reality TV.

Funnily enough he does and he manages to narrow it down to two lovely girls. Melissa and Molly. Melissa is the epitome of everything Jason was looking for in a potential wife. She had the looks, personality and charisma he always dreamed of having his wife/partner to have.

Molly was a spanner in the works, she was nothing he expected her to be, but was everything that he needed.

So what happened? Well you know, nothing dramatic.

Only the fact that he proposed to Melissa in the final rose ceremony, only to dump her butt on national television and then hook with Molly again, after he professed his love (also on national television).

Now I’m not here to verbally bash and criticize Jason or Molly (also now known as Jolly) or what happened for that matter of fact.

But I can sure tell you that there are a lot of upset women and men out there right now.

So while everyone else is being upset and having a tantrum, I think that this turned out to be one of the most beautiful love stories ever.

I mean come-on, if the same thing happened in a movie .. it would be the romantic comedy of the year.

You know what my perspective is? Everything worked out PERFECTLY. Here's how.

Jason was dumped on the bachelorette. He proposed. She said No. His heart was broken. Ended up being one of the hottest and most eligible bachelor’s we have had to date. Now he has the chance to find real love.

Molly. don't know about how she got here, but that she applied and managed to win a spot that probably 10s of thousands of women applied for.

Melissa, had been dumped, dumped, dumped over and over again. She just can't seem to be landing the right kind of guys.

So how does it turn out?

Jason realizes that what he thought he wanted and needed was actually more than he imagined. He imagined a beautiful relationship, had an ideal in his mind (which Melissa matched up to) and yet found a deeper, challenging and more exciting love than he could have ever possibly imagined.

He had to lose molly (sending her away) before he truly got to appreciate her and realized how much he realty did care about her.

At the end of the day he had to stand up for what he believed in and follow his heart. He made some massively big decisions where he could have sat back and settled for mediocrity. He raised his expectations out of life and what he was willing to do to achieve them and he was also greatly rewarded.

Huge personal growth journey for him.

Molly does her job, by falling in love with a man and being able to love him unconditionally. She has no judgments and has forgiven him for all the things they have gone through. The fact that they are up against such heat from the media, only brings their relationships closer.

Melissa. Really needs a rock to lean on. She needs to find a guy who is there for her and that she can trust. Some might think, after this experience .. how could she ever trust again?

Well you would be glad to know it!! She is actually happily dating a guy who has been her friend for over 2 years!! Guess what his name is? TAI!! The same name as Jason's SON!!

My interpretation. Maybe she had to go through all the apparent falling in love and heartbreak to realize that the guy she had been looking for this entire time, was her best friend and had been standing there the whole time!

So really. This season has been great!! Everyone has come out with positives and what I really wanted to point out here, that above all the drama and apparent conspiracy theories, everything worked out for the best.

Everything synchronized in a beautiful way that could not have been predicted or anticipated.

Now the only one that is unhappy is the bachelorette who broke Jason's heart in the first place ... who dumped the other guy she picked like 7 months later.

Well we win some, we lose some =)

Are you deluded about your hotness, attractiveness and irresistibility?

Are older women really more desperate?

Are older men really more attractive?

Well I just read in an recent Daily Telegraph paper that how hot we really "think" we are is relative to our age.

Now that statement may seem really obvious. But let me explain.

Now I sure all the young girlies who are reading this, while they may have some boy problems really don't have too much of a shortage of choice.

Then all of a sudden when they grow older and reach the age of 33-34 they start to notice that its that little bit harder to score a guy.

Is that just because guys don't really go for older women? Is that just because guys don't like women with more life experience?

What is the reason for this?

Well girls you are going to love these stats.

This is in Australia so the stats may be a little different in the states. But for single women from ages 15-17 there is an oversupply of single men of 10%, peaking at 23% when a single woman reaches the age of 25.

So really all us young girlies thinking we are so hot, irresistible could be very possibly because there is an oversupply of single men out there in the available market. Our Hot Deflation Index is running high.

So all I can say, is if you can't get a date or any guy interested in you while you are young, then there is probably something you are doing wrong.

Here the Author Bernard Salt states " What young women may not understand us that their interest of their many suitors might not be because of their gorgeous personalities and their overall hotness, it might be that boys are lonely and desperate".

In other words, women may be deluded about their actual attractiveness.

Now older women on the other hand who are older than 34 may experience a slowing down in their love life’s and many find it hard to get a good quality guy.

They think it has to do with the fact that their winkles are starting to show, things are starting to stag and maybe things are not as tight as they once used to be. (I'm sure I'll get to write about it first hand one day).

They think because they are older that they are therefore not as attractive anymore.

But is that really true?

Well you guessed it, by the time single women reach the age of 34 the odds start to go downhill. In fact their ratio exceeds that of the male ratio meaning there are more single men out there as opposed to single women over 34.

Yes the tables turn.

And eventually men in their 40s have very favorable age ratios to single women ... which is probably why a 40 year old single woman is called a spinster and a 40 year old male is called an eligible bachelor.

So what is my advice?

Firstly for women. Score a guy when you are young. If it fails, get back into the market as soon as possible.

Secondly for men. Wait till your 40.

Thirdly remember your really not as attractive as you really think you are.

Ok Ok seriously.

For women I would have to say, that since you are probably getting approached by a lot of men, be gentle to the guys you are not interested in. Don't come from a desperate or clingy mindset, statistically there are more guys out there for you then you know what to do with.

Just because you may be attracting a lot of male interest, does not mean you have to reject, humiliate or be really abusive to a guy who you are not interested in. Remember karma is a bitch.

For older women, remember not to be as picky as when you were younger. Realize the facts, that the male pool at your age is not as big.

That does not mean settle for less. But it means you will need to get rid of useless and superficial criteria of what you want in a guy. Certain age, certain job type. At the end of the day remember is how he makes you feel about yourself.

For guys. Realize that when you are young there is a lot of competition out there. Don't be disheartened and make sure you prepare yourself and have some sort of advantage over your competitors.

Just think ... what would make YOU stand out of a crowd a guys and make a girl interested in you?

For older men. Enjoy the fact that as you age .. you get culturally sexier and your hot deflation index is going through the roof.

Love.

Its one of those things that can lead to infatuation, delusion, intense pain and self sacrifice.

Yet, its "the thing" that pretty much every person who is truthful to themselves wants to experience.

We spend most of our lives trying to find it in the form of other people or person, only to end up disappointed that no-one can really quite make the cut.

Eventually you learn that real love is found within yourself and then intently shared with someone else who you choose to be close to your heart.

So as soppy as that sounds ... I believe it to be true. 100%

Behind all the sarcasm ... There is a thick layer of soppiness.

Here is the thing though.

What many people don't realize is that different people can experience love in different ways.

N that you could have been with somebody in the past .. who you thought didn't love you ... But really just didn't communicate their love to you .. in a way in which you felt it.

People can also react and interact with your personality and who you are in different ways too.

I know that a lot of this dating advice ... some which you may find on my blog and also in many of the other blogs or dating columns out there ... focus on changing yourself.

They are all about ... Improve your confidence .... They give you some quick band aid tips ... slap you on the butt and tell you to get out there .... and kick ass with your new found ... "better personality."

I fell for it for a while. Heck I even wrote about it. But then it made me think.

What if there is absolutely nothing wrong with you, who you are, how you act ... ra ra ra

And the only real problem was that you were not with someone compatible? What if you were with a person who REALLY did bring out the worst in you .... and you could be with someone who does bring out the best in you?

Confused?

Well it is ME blogging here ... So I can see how this could probably arise.

So what I'm attempting to say ... is that sometimes we think we should change for that person we are with ... because doing it their way ... is the better way.

Then we get out of that relationship for whatever reason ... and then after some time ... have a freaking epiphany, that there was absolutely nothing wrong with you were and how you were acting at all.

When really it was just that person, their character ... that was the real problem.

And therefore the only real solution is finding the person that doesn't mind that your a terrible singer in the shower because they admire your free spirit ... that doesn't care that you messy because they know your time is spent pursuing your dreams, connecting with people .....

The real solution is finding someone who finds your faults amusing, cute even ... rather than annoying, frustrating and irritating.

Women and men, both behave badly when it comes to relationships.

No-one is worse than the other, we are equally as bad as eachother.

But from what I can tell men are blaming women and men are blaming women.

Instead of uncovering the truth we run around eachother, creating scenarios, situations, reasons as to why it is not our fault.

The blame game is so on. And the competition is fierce.

So while I don't really want to go in and fuel this debate, I want to clarify some of the excuses men and women say to themselves that prevents them for taking responsibilities for their own dating lives.

I don’t think that there is anyone to blame. But I do think that we have a responsibility to ourselves to discover and live the real truth.

But then again. If you want we can have a debate about who behaves worse than the other. You know, just for the fun of it.

So now I'm putting forth my case!

She’s Guilty!!

Pursuing a Girl
If she likes me, why doesn’t she just tell me in plain English. The whole dating game is a bunch of bull! *hits something*

Why does she have to play so hard to get? Why doesn't she just get over herself and make it easier for me?

What do you want from me dammit!

You like me, I like you .. and what is the problem exactly?

Your such a sweet girl, why do you act like such a brat sometimes for NO apparent reason?

Dating a Girl
I don't understand why she gets pissed off when I just want to spend some time with my mates. What is their really to get jealous of?

I like time to myself. I love her, but I don't need to be and think about her 25 hours out of the day.

Yes I love you. Do you need to be reassured 50 000 times a day?

Doesn't she understand that I would still like her to make an effort to look good now and then, even though we have been dating/married for a while?

After we make love. I need food, beer and rest. Why in the world do would you think that I have the energy to talk?

Look she is a friend, that is a girl. She is like one of my mates. You’re my girlfriend. Meaning I have feelings for you, that I don’t have for her. What is the problem exactly?

Why do you have to keep bringing that(old issue) up. I thought that we already sorted that out?

No my old shorts are just fine! I don't need new clothing, a new haircut or new bed sheets. I was doing just fine for _____ (insert age) without you. I can take care of myself.

Understanding a Girl in General
If she wants something she should JUST say it! Why don't women speak English, they expect us to read their minds.

What in the world are you upset about now?

Why are all these small insignificant things, like if I put the toilet seat down or remembered some distant cousins birthday so DAM important to her? I just don't get it.

How in the world can I make her happy? I can't seem to win.

Women speak too much. What is the point of talking, if they don't want a solution to their problem. Its all just a waster of time.

What possible reason would you have not to trust me?

If you would just tell me what makes you happy, that would make my life so much easier.

There is always something that I did wrong or missed. Can’t she at least make the effort to pretend that everything is ok?

Why is she do dam emotional. Its like PMS all month around, get me a beer and give me a break.

Dammit I give up .. Gimme another girl that isn't broken, doesn’t have baggage and isn’t so dam emotional.

He’s Guilty!!

Attracting a Guy
Why doesn't he just make the first move? What in the world is he waiting for?

I was just being friendly. Flirting is totally different. Can't he tell the difference?

Man I was giving him all the signs! This guy is an idiot ... But a hot idiot ... Dammit!!

Why does he need my approval? Grow some balls man and stand up for yourself or something.

Please say something interesting ... I can't hold this fake smile for much longer.

I don't get it, one minute he is so into me, wants to spend all this time with me and the next, poof he has disappeared, acts cold and distant and then tells me that nothing is wrong.

He forgot my birthday or to get me a Christmas present. That bastard doesn’t even care about me.

He tells me he loves me ... but I know that he doesn't mean it.

If I can just change a few things about him, he would be the perfect guy.

Why doesn't he want to spend time with me. We haven't seen eachother in ages.

Why doesn't he appreciate all the little things that I do for him, I cook, clean and even pressed his shirts? I didn't even get a thank you.

He doesn't even try and contribute to making this relationship work.

Why doesn’t he realize is all that I want, is for him to understand and fight for me.

Your with me. Do you have to ogle at that girl like that. Your such a jerk.

We are dating. You don't freaking own me dammit!

Can you just TRY to be romantic. Just once?

Understanding a Guy
He doesn't ever want to talk about important things. He doesn’t want to talk like ever.

Why does he always have to be the one that ends the conversation? Why can't I do it first?

Why doesn't he call more often.

Why does he not want to talk? Every time is a great time for talking.

He talks but he doesn't really listen to me, he doesn't really understand me.

Why does it take him so dam long, to realize that I'm pissed at him.

Why does he have to be such a slob at times? Why does he have to drink from the carton like that. Can't he see the mess that he is living in?

Why does he have to act like a jackass half the time?

Yeh yeh yeh, we know your tough we love it. But you don't have to prove yourself to me every time. Ok?

You just don't get it. You don’t love me. You not living up to the expectations I had of you in my head.

I’ll find someone who will.

Ok ok, maybe I added a little more to the “He’s guilty” list. But come’on I’m a chick, so of course its going to be biased.

And you wonder why there are books, blogs, forums, courses and personal coaches dedicated to helping you understand the opposite sex!

These are some human follies between the opposite sex, which will perhaps never be solved.

But I guess this article was written, so that you NOW have an awareness of what they are really thinking and now you have the ability to chose how you wish to respond.

Remember everything is your responsibility but nothing is your fault.

So you guys are probably wondering where I have been. Sorry that I didn't tell you about it before but I went on a almost 2 week meditation course where all you do is eat sleep and meditate for 10 days straight.

No reading, No writing, No talking, No looking at anyone and No dinner.

Wake up time was @ 4:15am each morning and everyone had to get into bed by 9:30pm.

For some that may seem like a living hell. I spoke to some people before I went and most of the responses were the same.

"I could never do that", "I would go insane", "What no dinner? Is it a weight loss camp?".

Well weight loss, not exactly, but you sure do get to dump a lot of the mental weight you carry around.

I did my best to go in without any real expectations.

Some people their who I was talking to before the noble silence started talked about how one of their female relatives did the course and said it was harder than having 4 kids, other talked about stories about people walking naked into the bush and not coming back for some time and others wanting any piece of normal society who just read their name tag and over again for 10 days straight.

It was only after conversations like these, that I realized how helpful having the noble silence would be.

So how did I go? And what in the world is this post about?

Well I'm not going to talk about how I have come out a fully enlightened person.

But I really didn’t know how sitting in silence you could learn so much about yourself. The meditation technique forces deep unconscious wounds to the surface level by which you deal with by your new found awareness and observation.

This is why some people react in some severe ways and others can't bear to spend the 10 days. After the experience when we got a day of recovery where we could share our experiences most of the responses were ... "At times it was so hard and I wanted to leave".

This is something that we all go through. Because for once when "our" shite comes up ... we have nothing to distract ourselves with. We have to deal with this difficulty front on. We can no longer suppress it. We can no longer find something pleasurable to do to monetarily make us feel better.

What did I learn? That happiness is based on the simple things. Its not gained for being successful or achievement. Its not gained by being the right weight, wearing the nicest outfit or being the most popular person. It doesn't come when you get the promotion, when you get the girl or boy, when you get that goal you have always wanted and desired.

These are all false identities of happiness. Something the ego wants that can never really be fulfilled.

Peace, happiness and harmony is found talking a walk and noticing the way the wind blows the trees from side to side. Happiness is walking to same path everyday to work but noticing something new that was always there but you were never aware of before. Happiness and peace comes from absolute self acceptance of yourself, exactly how you are, at exactly this point in time.

Of course I could go on and on and on about this and tell you all these lessons I learnt. But there is a real difference from me telling you about these learnings and actually experiencing it yourself.

That is where true experiential wisdom comes from. Nothing else. So for those that come here because they are curious or want some advice on how they can better learn to attract the opposite sex because you think that it will lead to happiness.

I'm here to tell you that finding that dream boy/girl, that dream situation, that dream self image ... will not make you happy.

None of it will.

The only way you can truly really be happy, is to be here in THIS moment and appreciate all that you have right now.

Simple … but not always easy.

I have to admit this was a distinction that a respected member on the forum RSDNation "Rockavon" made on one of his posts.

I love rsdnation. Its a great high traffic forum filled with aspiring “Pick Up Artists” as well as high quality instructors which facilitates some great quality content, and pretty much everything you would want to know or would need to know about how to get better with women.

So I know we have many debates about the Bad Boy vs Nice Guy. Well I’m here to talk about a paradigm shift and to say that maybe its neither that is getting the girls.

So if its not the bad boys. And its not the nice guys. Who is really winning? Well the Good Guy. Rockavon shares some of the characteristics of a Good Guy.

Boys and Girls, please read on and tell me what you think.

The Good Guy

He gets out of the house and is really social.

He uses his value based reality to naturally become selective.

He encourages the girl to GAME him.

He rewards good behavior with displays of intent.

He takes care of himself and his body and his avatar so he is always looking and feeling his best.

He is willing to walk away at any moment or disqualify himself at the sight of second class behavior that doesn't live up to his expectations.

He is above all the petty stuff that people do, his self esteem is too high for that stuff to affect him and his ego is in check.

He is un-reactive to button pushing because his ego is in check and his self esteem is too high.

He knows how to lead, escalate, and kino(touch)

He knows how to quickly screen for logistics

He knows how to qualify authentically at the right time

He is not too easily won over but always somewhat interested

He is in touch with his sexual core

Now while some of these terms you may not be sure what they mean, I hope you are able to get an overall scope of what a good guy is. All I was thinking while I was reading that list is Hot, Hot, Hot.

Girls, I dare you to challenge me and tell me this is something that you wouldn’t find appealing!

So if that is a definition of a good guy, then what is a nice guy? Well its my belief that nice guys don’t get girls.

Haven’t you noticed that every hot chick will have at least ONE male best friend who we all know is secretly IN LOVE with her, but just can’t seem to figure out how to get her to like him?

Come’on girls spill the truth here.

I see it EVERYWHERE!

Ok so what do I believe are some of the characteristics of a nice, needy and insecure guy?

Read on ….

The Nice Guy

He will do anything and everything to please his woman

He seeks approval and praise constantly

He is emotionally unstable and relies on situations, other people and external influences to make him happy

He self esteem could do some work

He may not believe that he is worthy of a particular girl or type

He is to a certain extent socially impaired

He sets no clear boundaries with women

He thinks that being friends with a woman will increase his chances of dating her

He denies/suppresses his sexual needs

He can also come across as sexually needy

He thinks the nicer he is to a woman the more they will like him

He apologizes for this actions and his thoughts, worried that he will offend her

He thinks the more time he spends with a woman the more she will like him

He has very little idea of how the game works

He may see learning about pick up as manipulative rather than a personal development journey.

Now here is the thing guys. Its no longer the bad boys vs. the nice guy.

Its the good guys that are winning the race. These are the guys with generally good hearts, with social apt and the strength and unapologetic nature of a bad boy.

These are your pick up artists who learn through books, coaching and experience .. on how to really sweep you off your feet.

Nothing wrong with that. Bring em on.

So lets just get this straight. For the men and women, what is a surrendered single? And why would it be easier to approach her?

This was a concept developed by Laura Doyle in her book titled ... The Surrendered Single. What I love about this book is its controversial. Women get caught off guard by some of the things that are mentioned in here. Most importantly it goes against the grain of how women should act in the modern society we live in today, where women and men are continually playing on equal fields.

So what exactly does she say?

What is a Surrendered Single? And just what is she surrendering—and to whom?

A Surrendered Single recognizes that if she wants to attract the man with whom she can develop intimacy, she cannot control relationships. She cannot determine who asks her out, how he'll do it, when he'll call or e-mail, or if he'll commit to her. A Surrendered Single may have unwittingly been trying to control, manipulate and force relationships previously, but no more.
The basic principles of a Surrendered Single are that she:

* Acknowledges her desire to attract and marry a man who's right for her
* Lets go of the idea of a perfect man
* Receives compliments, gifts, help and dates graciously whenever possible
* Takes responsibility for and focuses on her own happiness and fulfillment
* Relinquishes control of the pace of the courtship
* Strives to be vulnerable
* Honors her desire to be married by ending dead-end relationships
* Checks for safety before she risks herself physically or emotionally

A Surrendered Single is:

* Open where she was guarded
* Optimistic where she was cynical
* Feminine where she was tough
* Gracious where once fended for herself
* Respectful where she used to feel superior

A Surrendered Single lets go of the negative beliefs she's been holding onto like a security blanket, such as:

* There are no good single men out there
* I'm too old to attract someone
* Dating is too much trouble

At first surrendering will feel awkward and frightening.

But so what? No one ever died from these feelings. They're trivial compared to the payoff.

Who's Afraid of Dating?

Every strong, single woman I know rolls her eyes when I suggest that lack of faith and fear are what keep her alone. She doesn't typically think of herself as scared because she's built a career and a terrific circle of friends, stood up to dozens of men, and often even raised a child alone. She is capable and hearty.

And she's through with “having faith” because so far, it hasn't done a thing for her. (Or so she thinks.) In fact, the very word is disconcerting to her. Truth is, her faith is as out of shape as her first little black dress, and it's as worn as the fabulous heels she bought to go with it.

This is understandable. When we believe that something will happen, but have no control over whether it does, the possibility of disappointment looms. What could be more disappointing than believing he's out there, and never finding him? We'd be faced with thinking that there's something wrong with us. To protect herself, the single woman does a funny little sidestep.

She goes into the world with good intentions to find someone who has all the characteristics she wants in a partner. She makes a list of these characteristics by starting with what she knows will meet her parents' approval and what her friends will like. Unfortunately, her list is now both restrictive and irrelevant since it has nothing to do with her own desires.

Each potential suitor is measured against his ability to fit into her complicated jigsaw puzzle of the perfect guy.

Now I will admit that this was one of the first books I ever read about understanding more about the dating game on women.

And I will also admit that it resonated with me on a level so great that it has transformed my beliefs and my life today.

I incorporate a lot of my posts based on what she is saying here. Basically her book is getting women to giving up the need to control their dating life. The need to control the type of man they will marry, how he should act, what he should look like.

Surrendering is about getting in contact with that natural feminine energy that all women possess and that all men love.

Yes we live in different times today. Women are more independent than they have ever been before, but I really believe that somewhere along the line the message got mixed up.

Women now assume that in order to get the right man, they have to be the man. Then they find a guy who is easy to command, easy to walk over and easy to disrespect and then wonder why they get bored.

Women complain that men just aren't challenging enough today, that there are no good men out there and that simply no one can keep up with them.

This book finally puts all the responsibility back on you. And its great that it does that, because then you finally have the power to change it.

I will admit if you are a strong minded woman, reading this can turn your beliefs inside out and upside down but I have to say that every woman HAS to read this book. It will probably save your dating life, stop the confusion and allow you to see the real truth.

Now I pose the title of my post to men. Would you date a surrendered single? Would you approach a surrendered single? Because what if I said that a surrendered single would more likely smile instead of scowl, accept instead of reject, look at you instead of away ...

Wouldn't that make her approachable because then the likelihood of her rejecting you would be smaller and her vulnerability would allow you to be more yourself?

See when you don't perceive approaching a woman to be associated with acceptance or rejection and just simply as having a conversation with a woman .. doesn't that take the pressure of?

So what is my conclusion. The surrendered single, works better for both boys and girls! I'm sure you all want to give in your thoughts. So as usual hit me back, coz I'm listening!

Well this is what learning about this little kid has reminded me of and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Don't in life do we tend to complicate things. I'm telling you, some of us like complicated lives. Some of us love to over complicate the most simplest things? Making money on the internet. Get product, add traffic and automate.Simple. Losing weight. Eat less and exercise more. Attain wealth. Simple. Save more, spend less, invest the rest. Simple. Attract a woman. Say hello and take it from there.

So why do we have to read books, listen to audios and attend the seminars if everything is so simple?

Well yes it simple, but it may not necessarily be easy. Losing weight for example. Eat less and exercise more.

Its simple right? But its not easy. Because you may have to uncover why you eat so much in the first place. You will have to build the discipline to exercise everyday. You will have to build a new image of yourself that you feel aligned with. You will have to grow, change and adapt your identity and the very essence of who you define yourself as.

So while I thank Alec for showing me how simple things really are. He also reminds me, that we need coaches in our lives. We need people to help keep us on track.

We need the routines, the schedules and the times to keep up on track, on task and on purpose. That is the hardest part of all.

But what if I said this. If you cannot master great things, then master small things in a great way.

That is the part to being successful with women. That is the key to being successful in any area of life.

So if we want to start with the simple things when it comes to approaching women. Then lets start with this exercise.

How about saying hello to every female you interact with? What about at the supermarket? What about when you go to work? Your co-workers, your employees, to random strangers in the street, while you are in the elevator.

The world is out there and waiting for your to engage in it.

Is Learning Picking Up All About Manipulation?

You would be surprised how many WOMEN out there cannot stand PUA's.

They think that people like Mystery and David Deangelo are frauds, who are corrupt and teach men how to manipulate women.

They make comments like ... we don't fall for this stuff. People who use these techniques on us and it doesn't work.

Well I can say .. is that if you had an advanced PUA approach you and hit on you ... you would not even know what hit you.

What irritates me the most is that these women, who know nothing from nothing about the pick up scene or seduction, make all these wild accusations and assumptions about the men who learn this stuff.

What they don't understand is the difference between the logical/rational and the emotional/illogical.

So I'm here to educate. But first lets have in mind the question.

Who does this PUA stuff really benefit, if anyone at all?

Lisa’s post: "First of all, the majority of the regular members here are women. The women here will tell you that David Deangelo's crap doesn't work. Therefore, you clearly don't know what works with women. Maybe Double Your Dating works with brainless skanks who just want a one night stand, but it doesn't work with women with any intelligence or sense of self-worth. If that's the type of person you want to be, and want to be with, then yay for you. However, that's not what this site is about. I suggest you move on down the web... Contrary to what you say and believe, the type of guy I wanted is the kind who isn't so insecure that he has to read a manual to "get chicks." Susan’s Post: I first have to admit I have not read ALL of David's book, but have a very personal friend who decided to try this after his 2nd divorce. I would like to thank David for turning a loving, caring, successful man & father into a total JERK!! Yes, he was somewhat insecure before, but in order for him to gain this extroverted ,"Cocky & Funny" and shit attitude, he started drinking again after 11 YEARS SOBER!! Nice work David!!!I think there are enough "Bad Boys" out there (I have dated enough of them ) that David doesn't need to add more to the male race.
I am a good looking, intelligent woman, and if someone came up to me and acted the way you suggest I wouldn't give him the time of day. I think this crap would work on the younger girls ,as they don't have a lot of guy experience, but using it on a woman who is mature.. FORGET IT. Seems all this crap is good for is for men to find a quick "Hump and Dump" not a loving , lasting relationship!!But I guess we all have to make a buck somehow and if David DeAngelo can live with himself selling this crap to the men with low self esteem and lack of social skills kudos for him, he has just joined the ranks of slimy con artist and I wouldn't want to be him when he meets his maker!!

Hot Alpha Female’s Post: You know the reason why chicks cant stand David D? Coz what he has to teach works and these chicks are falling for his students left right and center.

Don't know what’s wrong with these women. I love David D for what he is, what he teaches and ultimately for the great value that he gives to his students, his people and his clients.

I personally think that David D is doing a favor for all girls out there. Because he is helping the NICE guys gets noticed. He is putting more loyal and genuine guys out there who want to find a girlfriend and be happy.

He isn't about producing sleaze bags. Although maybe some guys have mastered his techniques and are abusing his rules a bit. But hey there are always some exceptions to the rules.

Like heaps of people have commented on here. The main thing that David D teaches is self confidence. I believe that is the only thing that really holds back a guy in the dating world.

He teaches you the skills that your dad should have taught you. He is the coach that you never had.

I mean I cant speak from the perspective of him being my personal coach. But I have seen many of my friends (male) who have gone through the program and just in general come out at better, more interesting and more confident people.

If you went through a David D program and that is the only thing you got out of it .. a boost in self confidence, well I still think that he would have given you something highly invaluable.

What do you guys reckon? Is becoming A PUA all about manipulation? Or do you believe that these self help gurus are actually really changing people’s lives for the better? What have been some of your experiences?
