Home from Paradise

Curling up in bed and watching the rain fall as I’m thinking about the weekend that just passed at Paradise. I seemed to crash harder than usual after this long weekend away. Being away at camp has a magic surrounding it that is enhanced more so than other conventions. You’re isolated away from the world around you and with people who are at the very least kink friendly. You don’t have to worry about finding something to cover up your fetish clothing or your naked body when heading to a workshop, dinner or just walking around. You’re not surrounded by the news and the daily life stuff that occupies your life normally. It’s a fabulous getaway.

One of the things that was reinforced from both Jim Duvall “Rape and Abduction Play” workshop and “Defining the Moment” workshop by Graydancer was thinking and communicating about the core thing that you need to be fulfilled in certain scenes. It can be an action or a feeling but it served as a good reminder that when you are planning certain scenes to think about that, define it and communicate. I’m looking forward to thinking about some of my other fantasies, breaking them down and trying to make them a reality.

I met so many wonderful people, reconnected with friends, got to know people who I met previous better, hot play, workshops, cuddling, lots of naked swimming and hot tubing, long conversations, time by the fire, new fantasies and fulfilling one.

I’m still slowly trying to get over the drop from this weekend. I’m hoping cuddling up and watching some True Blood with a mix of blueberries and raspberries will hopefully help as tomorrow morning is going to come early and I’m sure the e-mails and in-tray are going to be stocked high after those couple of days off. I’m planning on writing more about some of my time at Paradise but right now, I’m going to take care of myself.

Back but heading to Paradise!

Sorry for being off the air for a bit, I had my first and hopefully last severe allergy attack that resulted in 2 visits to the ER, lots of drugs and treatments, cold showers and moving as little as possible. The good news is, I’m almost back to normal.

I’ll be off the air for a bit as I’m heading to Paradise Unbound in Washington state. I won’t have my computer and little phone access as roaming is expensive. If you are there, say hi. I’m looking forward to getting away, seeing friends, hot scenes and meeting new people. See you when I get back.

PG and I have been talking about the status of our relationship lately and how things are going. It was about a year ago that we realized that our relationship was becoming more D/s based. Over the year, we’ve realized what works for us and what doesn’t. We created a ritual for when he comes over and before he leaves my place, which has really grown on us and helps us both shut the world out along other things.

We’ve been making casual references to him owning me but didn’t actually talk about it till last week. There are some challenges that we have, (what relationship doesn’t) such as balancing our relationship with other commitments and relationships. We wanted to classify our relationship with something that indicates ownership. That thought made me feel warm inside and it just felt right. For me, the word slave doesn’t sit right with me within my relationships. I love the times when I can be bratty, play fight and attempt to hold out but I also love the times where I’m obedient, do as I’m told and act the way he wishes me too. We both love the free flowing nature of our relationship and our dynamic. The word pet came out of his mouth and it felt right.

Everyone has different definitions of what certain words mean but for us it means that there is that strong, loving connection and ownership in a fun, loving way. I still get to be bratty (sometimes), energetic, loving and resistant. There is also the training and obedience aspects of it which we are exploring more and more. I am dedicated to our relationship and to him. It allows the room for other possible relationships to grow and develop, which is important for us. Our definition will grow and change but it will be interesting to see where our relationship continues to leads us.

Review: Ophoria’s Bliss 3 Mini

Cute, little, surprising, smooth and black are the first words that come to mind when thinking of the Bliss 3 Mini Vibe in Noir (black) that Fascinations was kind enough to send me to review. The Bliss 3 Mini Vibe is five inches in length and about one and a half inches in diameter. It’s made from silicone and takes two AAA batteries, which are included. The power of this AAA battery-powered vibrator did surprise me, it’s more powerful than I thought.

The vibrator comes packaged in a black box where the Bliss sits, after opening it up you will find your batteries, black carrying case, one year warranty and an user manual. The body of the vibrator alternates between a smooth surface and one with deep noticeable

ridges. The silicone is smooth and firm, you can tell that it’s 100% silicone. The battery compartment is easy to access with a quick pull and twist. The on and off switch is a simple push button which activates nine different settings, three continuous, building and pulsating vibrations. To turn off, you simply hold down the button for five seconds.

Since it’s made from silicone, stick with water based lubricant. To sanitize, stick with a 10% bleach solution but you can also use soap or toy cleaner to clean. Be careful as it’s not waterproof and only splash proof.

I tried the Bliss #3 with PG and by myself. PG really liked it as it was sleek and easy for him to use. He turned it on and put it right by my clit before tying me to a bench for one of our scenes. He liked it because I can take more pain with stimulation. We tried using it afterwards but I was more concerned about doing other things then using it. However, it will be a possible vibrator to pack for our scenes when he wants to tease me.

When I used the toy on my own, I enjoyed it. It’s a good warm up vibrator and I was able to bring myself to orgasm with it a few times however most of the time I used it for warm up. A disclaimer though, I do have a vertical clitoral hood piercing which I find makes orgasm easier. I’m not sure if I would have been able to orgasm with it before the piercing. I’ve enjoy using the Ophoria Bliss #3 Mini as a warm up tool and move on to a more powerful vibrator towards the end. It’s a bit to short to do much for me internally but it does feel nice. The vibration settings really stand out and I enjoy them all except for one. For me, it makes a great teasing vibrator and turned out to perform better than I thought it would. Scenes don’t always go as planned

After not being able to play in a while, PG and I decided that we both needed a hot and rough scene. We both got everything ready and he had the advantage by putting me in a breast harness. We fought pretty hard but I was on the losing end of the battle. I put up a pretty good fight but he knows my weaknesses to well and uses them against me.

He tried to get me in the sling but I fought away for a while until he was able to get me into the sling by pulling my hair and nipples with enough force. I kept fighting in the sling but he overpowered me again and I was locked in. After slapping me around, he pulled out the violet wand but one piece was missing. He was looking around for it but the piece in between the inserts and wand was left at home. We were a bit worried at first but he remembered he had another set of inserts at home. We couldn’t help but relax and cuddle once we figured out where it most like was. It put a dent in that part of the scene for the time being. Stuff happens and you can’t take it seriously. We planned on using that toy but we ended up having a great rough scene and moved on to a caning scene that left my butt glowing.

This weekend was very relaxing. I ended up doing a bunch of errands including some purchases that I needed to make for Paradise such as a tent and new air mattress. Having the down time this weekend was what I needed, sleeping in late, getting things crossed off my to do list, getting some sun and relaxing.

I just looked at my calendar and noticed that I have something going on every weekend till October. I’m looking forward to it. MVK, Sin, Rascals, PG birthday and Paradise Unbound in the next month alone. If you are wondering where I am, that’s where I’ll be.

Pride weekend: Bride of Pride

This Friday past was Bride of Pride, which is a fun women’s party for past, present and future women. They are hosted by Canadian Mayhem, which hosts play parties and will be having another conference in May 2011.

The play party was a lot of fun and very free-flowing. I was able to see a lot of people and have the chance to catch up with them. Lots of sexy people in great outfits, hot scenes, and great conversations.

The social area and play area were mixed well together with lots of stations to play at. One of the best things I like about it, is the rules are very free and they don’t have the restrictions that other parties have. I was DMing later in the evening so I didn’t get a chance to play but walking around and watching the scenes were entertaining, hot and fun.

If you’re a past, present or future women, you should definitely check out one of their parties. I had a blast and there are so many fun and sexy people who attend.

FIRE party

Last night I went to a FIRE party, which stands for Female Identified Riggers Evolution. It was a lot of fun and a completely different vibe from most rope events. It was great as there was social time in the beginning and then a beginners work shop and downstairs there was a chance for people who were beyond the basics to practice everything from floor work to suspension.

We got a chance to go over the basics. My friend G graciously volunteered to be my stunt bottom as I learned and thankful helped me when I got stuck. I was very happy when I did my first chest harness on him.

One thing I noticed is that as soon as the hemp rope touched my hands, my mind was starting to get all floaty and started to wander into a more bottom space. I had to fight to stay out of it. I guess over the years, I’ve been conditioned. However, I love being conditioned that way so it will be an interesting experience trying to keep that but being able to turn it off when needed. I’m looking forward to practising more and slowly learning. Now, just to find people to practise on.

Sunshine

We’ve been hit with amazing weather in Vancouver lately, the sun has been shining and the weather has been beautiful. A couple of days were even pretty hot. I love Vancouver but with all the rain we had when the nice weather comes out my desire to be inside and around my computer went away and numerous days this past weeks were spent outside.

In good news, it looks like I’ll be able to make Paradise Unbound this year. I couldn’t go last year because of a new job but it looks like I should get the approval to take a couple of days off to make the trip down. One of my favourite ways to spend labour day weekend. I have a tent and sleeping bag on loan from PG and my friends are renting a car for the trip down. It was so much fun in 2008 and I’m looking forward to seeing friends, having hot scenes and naked swimming and hot tubbing.

PG is also back for a couple of weeks before another trip so we are catching up, playing and getting re-connected. Summer is going well so far.

Review: Raquel

VixSkin Raquel by Vixen Creations has become one of my favourite dildos. A pearly, shimmering pink shaft and white base invites you in, while the length (7.5 ” insertable) is long enough to play and fill you with. The base is fairly large which makes it perfect for anal play, harnesses (it may cause a problem with some) but the best part of the base is when you are using it on someone else, it provides a handle for solo and partner play.

One of my favourite things is that its made out of Vixskin, it’s soft, squishy and luxurious with a strong inner core to help keep its shape. It’s one of my favourite material that I love. It has the advantage of regular, firm silicone (easy to clean, non-porous and phthalate-free) but is wielding and oh so soft. I couldn’t help but squeeze it over and over again once I got it. It’s something that you should try. It not only feels great holding it but inside feels fleshy and allows you to really squeeze down on it.

For me, it worked for G-spot stimulation, when I was in the mood however it does require a lot of thrusting (which is never a bad thing). The base has a suction base which can be used but I did find it popping off when used vigorous.

The dildo comes packaged in a clear, plastic cylinder which makes it handy to store. The only downside I found was that it does pick up a lot of lint however it can be easily cleaned off. I’ve enjoyed the Raquel over the past couple of months and I think my other dildos are getting a bit jealous.
