Join us Sunday May 13th as The Fetish Tribe hosts The Class for Novices presented by TES’s Novice group facilitator & Alternative Life Coach, Bo Blaze.

Bo can talk about this stuff for hours and we will have him covering all the basics, but more importantly he’ll be answering your questions in a judgment free environment, where you can get the info you need to stay safe and have a great time.

The Class for Novices is FREE and open to everyone 19+! You also don’t have to be a Novice to benefit from the info that will be delivered but if you are new or inexperienced than you will not want to miss this class!

The Class for Novices will be in the same venue as [The Living room party]. Attendees of the class are welcome stay for the party but do not have to. Note: Those that want to stay for the party, there is a charge and a dress code requirement.

I’ve had several questions about other books to read that are like “Fifty Shades of Grey”. I figured besides my own recommendations I’d ask my Tweeps on Twitter. • Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns: The Romance and Sexual Sorcery of Sadomasochism – This book is near and dear to Bo’s heart as it was written by his first mentors, the now deceased Philip Miller and Molly Devon. This book is written about the NJ BDSM community in the late 80′s and is a classic.
• The Ethical Slut: A Practical Guide to Polyamory, Open Relationships & Other Adventures – The single most influential book on Polyamory or as we like to say “Ethical non-monogomy”. Which is a phrase that Bo stole from this book. If you are interested in this type of relationship, you need this book!
• The DeTails of Flogging – If you want to learn to safely use a flogger, this double DVD brings you 4 top instructors and over 3 1/2 hours of education. One of the teachers may look familiar
• The Loving Dominant – This classic is written by our old friend John Warren. A great read.
• Books by Tristan Taormino – Love, Love, Love us some Tristan T! A TON of great books
• Different Loving: The World of Sexual Dominance and Submission – A true classic by Gloria Brame.
• Sm 101: A Realistic Introduction – This is another classic written by Jay Wiseman.

• The Toybag Guide Series – I have not read all of the books in this series, but some of my favorite people in the scene have written these, like Lolita Wolf, Lee Harrington, Mollena Williams, Midori, John Warren and more.
• Leatherman’s Handbook II – This classic by Larry Townsend is no longer in print but there are a few used copies that you can pick up on Amazon. This is a great book for everyone but gives the gay male Dom perspective.

• Sex at Dawn: How We Mate, Why We Stray, and What It Means for Modern Relationships – This book by Christopher Ryan & Cacilda Jetha is one of the most inspiring and important things I’ve ever read. See a short blog post on it here.
• Playing on the Edge: Sadomasochism, Risk, and Intimacy – My dear friend Dr. Staci Newmahr, has written an absolutely amazing book, that is as ruthlessly honest as it is thought provoking. A Sociologist and ethnographer, she participated in the NYC BDSM scene for several years to give a firsthand account of what she experienced. Written as academic book, this is still required reading for those that want an inside look at the NYC BDSM scene in the late 2000′s

I had a great time visiting with Michael and Diana on their WWRL show in NYC last Friday.
