&lt;p&gt;Üks konverentsi paljudest välismaistest ekspertidest, Magdalena Pawlowicz, on töötanud 13 eri riigis, sh 10 ettevõttega, mis kuuluvad Fortune Top 50-sse. Magdalena on veendunud, et sotsiaalmeedia kaudu on võimalik väga edukalt müüa, isegi kui „sotsiaalne“ justkui ei tohiks olla müügile suunatud.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;„Pole mingi uudis, et suur fännide arv üksi ei taga edu, aga Facebookis on siiski võimalik kasumit teenida,“ ütleb Marko Saue, kes kõneleb Socialfestil uutest Facebooki turundusstrateegiatest.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Kuid kuidas mõõta investeeringu tasuvust sotsiaalmeedias? „Olgem ausad, suur osa sellest on lihtlabane pettus,“ arvab Petri Mertanen, juhtiv analüütikaspetsialist Soomest. „Rääkida sotsiaalmeedia puhul ROI-st on ju tegelikult naeruväärne. Ka Albert Einstein ütles: „Kõik see, mida on võimalik mõõta, ei ole veel väärtuslik; kõike seda, mis on väärtuslik, ei ole aga paraku võimalik mõõta.“ See lause peab igati paika ka turunduses. Sotsiaalmeedias on väga palju sellist, mida ei saa rahasse ümber arvutada. Kõige olulisem on eristada tõeliselt olulist lihtsalt toredast ja keskenduda numbrite asemel sügavamale analüüsimisele.“&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;David Phillips, veebipõhise kommunikatsiooni ja avalike suhete professor, hoiatab sotsiaalmeediaga kaasnevate ohtude eest: “Tõsi, internet pakub suurepärast võimalust jõudmaks klientidele lähedale, aga sellega kaasneb ka oht, et igaüks pääseb ligi korporatsioonisisestele saladustele.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;„Pole mõtet intrigeerivaid väiteid lihtsalt suusoojaks ja tähelepanu äratamiseks pilduda. Tallinn Socialfestil kuulete esinejaid, kellel on kokku ligi 100 aastat kogemusi interneti- ja kommunikatsiooni valdkonnas.&amp;#8221; ütleb üritust korraldava Altex Marketingi tegevjuht Andri Viiand, kes ise kõneleb konverentsil Google+’ist. „Konverentsilt saavad kasulikku kõik, kel on sotsiaalmeediaga seoses ärilised huvid.”&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Controversial international social media marketing experts visiting Tallinn soon.&lt;br /&gt;
“From what I see, most Estonia companies are wasting their time and money in social media,” says Robin Gurney, moderator of Tallinn Socialfest 2012 a Baltic-Nordic social media marketing conference that is likely to cause controversy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://altex.ee/socialfest/"&gt;Tallinn Socialfest 2012&lt;/a&gt; happens on June 1st.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One of the many international speakers, Magdalena Pawlowicz, who has a working experience in 13 countries and with 10 companies listed on Fortune’s Top 50 list, says that it is possible to sell with social media even though “social” is not supposed to be sales-oriented.&lt;br /&gt;
“It’s true that you don’t need a huge fanbase, but it is still possible to help your business benefit from investing time and money into Facebook,” says Marko Saue who will be speaking about advanced use of Facebook in marketing.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But how do you measure the return on investment in social media? “Let’s face it: return on investment is a big fraud,” says Petri Mertanen, a leading marketing analytics specialists in Finland. “ROI from social media is even bigger joke.” Albert Einstein said: &amp;#8220;Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.&amp;#8221; This is so true, especially when it comes to marketing. There are numerous purposes in social media marketing that cannot be counted money-wise. Probably the most important thing is to know what matters and what is just “nice to know”. Measuring is not an option, but instead of reporting numbers, you have to do analyzing.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;David Phillips, Professor of Online Public Relations, addresses an even bigger issue: “The internet is accumulating a lot of  information. This is a big opportunity to move organisations closer to consumers and is also a threat allowing anyone to look into even the closest of corporate secrets.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“There’s no point in making controversial claims if there’s nothing to back it up. At Tallinn Socialfest you will hear speakers with more nearly 100 years internet communications combined experience.” says Andri Viiand, MD of Altex Marketing and Google+ evangelist.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“If you have any commercial interest in social media, attending this event is a must.”&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Prizes&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The winner will receive 500€ personally and the idea will be presented to the brand owner. If the company “buys” the campaign and if the results are good “client stating they are happy” then a bonus 500€ will be paid. NOTE: we may adjust your idea before presenting it but it will still count as “yours”&lt;br /&gt;
5 runners up will receive 50€ each&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A secondary benefit is that if we like your ideas and attitude then you will probably be offered a permanent position at altex or freelance projects, as you prefer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Who can enter?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Any individual can enter, whoever they are employed by. If you work in a marketing agency currently then check your contract to make sure sending ideas to altex does not get you in trouble. We don’t want that.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;How can I enter?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Step 1: Just send your broad creative concept idea, in English or Estonian, and your contact details to robin@altex.ee by May 20&lt;br /&gt;
From these entries we will choose 6 people to go forward to the finals&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Step 2: 6 finalists are asked to complete the brief (see steps 1-5 below).&lt;br /&gt;
Deadline May 30&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Winners are chosen and announced* on June 10&lt;br /&gt;
*It may be that you wish to make your entry confidential. No problem. If you do not want your name published, we won’t do it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What do I need to do if I am chosen as a finalist?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
From the six finalists we want to see a one page A4 “proposal” that outlines:&lt;br /&gt;
1. a broad creative concept (that does not include discounting the prices) . Visuals would be nice but are not essential.&lt;br /&gt;
2. a list of online channels you would use&lt;br /&gt;
3. comment how you would use the channels. e.g. examples/drafts of content for banner/facebook/text ads, email messages etc.&lt;br /&gt;
4. an estimation of results in terms of numbers of new visitors to the site and revenue generated - (your proposed campaign should have a positive ROI).&lt;br /&gt;
5. any other related comments or suggestions regarding the smooth operation and success of the campaign&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;How is the winner chosen?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A panel of Robin Gurney, Tõnis Hinnosaar and Andri Viiand will discuss the entries and judge them based on the following criteria:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1. originality of the creative concept&lt;br /&gt;
2. demonstration of knowledge of e-marketing channels in Estonia&lt;br /&gt;
3. feasibility of the campaign’s success based on altex’s experience&lt;br /&gt;
4. quality of additional comments if supplied.&lt;br /&gt;
5. the panel’s decision is final.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Robin Gurney said, “It’s been a wonderful ride the past seven years and I am enormously proud of the fact that Altex has been an innovator in the internet marketing space, grown every year and been profitable every year too. I have no doubt that Andri and Tõnis will continue to develop the company and I am excited by their passion, innovation and commitment to delivering excellent results for Altex clients.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Andri Viiand is Managing Director at Altex  as of 2011 and he’s responsible for managing Altex and key client projects. Andri’s wide ranging experiences in E-channels and project management come from 4 years as Web Manager for Estonia’s biggest company Eesti Energia where he was responsible for the everyday management and development of Eesti Energia’s web team – which handles more than twenty different websites and intranets in 4 countries.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tõnis is leading the European CPC, CPA &amp;#038; Affiliate Marketing Network Pay4results.eu and has played a key role at Altex Marketing since 2006.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Robin and Birgit will complete the handover their responsibilities by the beginning of June and will focus their time on writing a children’s book, travelling the world and spending more time with their lovely kids Miabel and Josep. They will also be retained by Altex Marketing to work on special projects from time to time.&lt;/p&gt;

Analysts believe that by 2018 - one out of four clothing shops will be closed due to the technology Fits.me is creating - sales move to internet (as an example, &amp;#8220;Borders&amp;#8221; book-chain was closed in the UK for the same reasons).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You can be part of it. We’re are looking for a DATA ANALYST / DATAMINER&lt;br /&gt;
As data analyst you should:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1) Provide data to the investors;&lt;br /&gt;
2) Discover new data:&lt;br /&gt;
- Test user behavior to be able to help us identify where the users have the most trouble - help us build a better Virtual Fitting Room;&lt;br /&gt;
- Provide data for our sales team; create white papers, case studies – great stuff that sells; This requires knowledge and inventiveness to figure out which data helps to support the sales. Then it requires inventiveness to create this data;&lt;br /&gt;
3) Analyze body measurements database and do recommendations to the retailers (gap analysis);&lt;br /&gt;
4) Create testing environments.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Required skills:&lt;br /&gt;
1) Quick turnaround of simple research tasks&lt;br /&gt;
2) Basic Math/Stat skills&lt;br /&gt;
3) Prior experience with Google Analytics&lt;br /&gt;
4) Love to learn from books, blogs. Love to read a lot to advance himself&lt;br /&gt;
5) Discovery skills – Creativity to find answers through circumstantial data&lt;br /&gt;
6) Interest to listen to the team – gives ability to understand the big picture and how things really work&lt;br /&gt;
7) Curiosity and patience at one task&lt;br /&gt;
8)&amp;nbsp;Writing skills (also fluent or very good English)&lt;br /&gt;
9) Ability to write the survey questions that do not skew the results&lt;br /&gt;
10) Basic design skills – how to make presentable graphics and understandable charts&lt;br /&gt;
11) It would be good to have some Ecommerce knowledge&lt;br /&gt;
12) Understanding the big picture, the system – holistic approach, ability to connect the dots&lt;br /&gt;
13) Ability to analyze the data using various technical environments: GA, Excel, comma delimited sheets, SQL&lt;br /&gt;
14) Experience in usability testing, including testing survey questions&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Languages required:  English, Estonian&lt;br /&gt;
