Square Enix finally dropped the bomb that is Final Fantasy XIII's release date. You'll be able to pick up the latest chapter of FF for PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 9th.

They announced this in text and in video with a generic looking dude walking around talking about Final Fantasy for a bit before we get to see some gameplay action and the release date. The link to the video is below as are the three new screenshots released today.

PSP adhocParty Mode Coming Soon, Requires a PS3

The PSP is finally getting the ability to connect friends together over the Internet. Sort of. If you own a PS3. Instead of giving direct access using something simple like an IP address, the PSP will rely on PS3s to do all the heavy lifting.

Here's what Sony says:

PSP titles with adhoc mode traditionally require you to play within close proximity to each other. AdhocParty takes advantage of the interoperable capabilities of the PSP and PS3 systems. It enables you to play games featuring Ad Hoc mode, such as Gran Turismo and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, over the Internet through the PS3.

DiRT 2 DX11 Minimum and Recommended PC Specs Revealed

Codemasters has finally revealed the minimum and recommended specs for the PC version of Dirt 2. The DX 11 version is about as high as you thought it would be, not Crysis-crazy high but still high enough. They only recommend one card for this as well, the ATI HD5700 which comes in a variety of flavors starting with the HD 5750 for around 150 dollars which isn't so bad. October Console and Game Sales Numbers - The Sky is Falliing

The NPD Group's sales numbers for October are out and they're not so good. The only up-tick this month, over October, was in Nintendo Wii sales. Everything else saw numbers that were worse than the month before. It's still too early to tell if this is a lull before people start buying for the holidays (Black Friday sales should cause these to jump a bit in November), it's not a good thing to see.

Animated Dante's Inferno Trailer will Eviscerate You

I just posted the trailer for the animated Dante's Inferno movie based on the EA's upcoming game. I have to say I'm impressed and want the movie a hell of a lot more than the game. Nice crow eating bowels imagery in this one so don't miss it!

So for me, yeah, this movie and God of War III should do nicely.

Xbox 360 Facebook/Twitter Update Coming Next Week November 17th

The official date of the Xbox update containing Facebook, Last.fm and Twitter is November 17th. We've known for some time now that the update was coming in November so I doubt yesterday's reveal of Facebook and Twitter on a PS3 has anything to do with the timing.

The beta of the features has been moving along well for several weeks now and they are worthy additions to XBLIVE but not game-changers. Certainly Sony's inclusion of the very same feautres (without Last.fm) points to popularity of the websites. At this point you can get Facebook and Twitter on just about anything.

New Skate 3 Images Look an Awful Lot Like Skate 2 Images
