The problem with DB/Textworks is that the resulting product are deep web - e.g. Google (etc...) cant crawl them - so all the effort that say Auckland City Libraries put into their myriad of DB/Textworks is lost http://www.aucklandcitylibraries.com/findyoursubject/digitallibrary/aucklanderesourcesdigitallibrary.htm

Hello. I try to install Koha too. But with the Windows install package for Koha , i didn't managed to something because I had the same mistakes as you. So I try to install Koha with easyphp or just with Mysql and Apache thanks to this guide : http://www.koha-fr.org/article.php3?id_article=87 (I downloaded the files named "ici").
I advise you this way because there is less mistakes.
Natacha.

Hi, I was actually following your blog guides & other online manuals
to setup a web server. It's been a few years, since I last played around with.

Around the 2 Step, I kept getting errors.
Although I've rechecked the configuration paths, still something's amissed.

Eventually, a friend recommended me to use WAMP http://www.wampserver.com
to install & setup everything automatically & to save his saliva & energy :P.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, you write well.
I enjoyed reading your well documented attentive journal. :)

We have been playing with Google Coop and ajax search API for a while and in fact just launched our "network" search today
http://ventureskills.wordpress.com/2006/11/23/custom-search-engine-google-ajax-search-a-winning-combination/
while not quite what your after, have you thought about importing your bookmarks into a custom search engine, I have done this by exporting my del.icio.us account and then using creating an open search plugin for Firefox to search just my links though its not time sensitive.
