The 2-week break dragged on to over a month long vacation. I was away for a trip to UK and France for two weeks and when I got back, I found myself preparing for another 1-week trip to Malaysia. However, now that I'm back I've decided to re-open the application for reviews.

I'm also planning a domain giveaway which will be hosted on Codeislove.net on January 18.

Hello everyone, just to let you all know that I am out of the country for 2 weeks so there won't be any updates any time soon. Also, application for review will be closed temporarily and will resume once I get back.

Have a nice day.

I've finished another review! Phew! That review took longer to complete than I had anticipated. I've been so busy lately, what with creating new layout for my portfolio site and working on a client's blogshop layout.

Okay, that's all for this time's update.

Thank you to everyone for the positive feedback on the website, and thank you to those who have applied for their websites to be reviewed. I have started working on the reviews and hopefully it'll be done within a few days.
I've opened up a new section, which is the website/web page review. I have decided to offer my reviews on others' websites in the hope I could help them to develop better websites. Also, I feel this is one way for me to keep this website active.
This is how the editor looks like:
I am seriously not making any progress with this site. I can't think of anything to do with it apart from carry on improving the back-end. I'm still trying to see if I can integrate a HTML editor. I'm also thinking if I should just remove the error reporting page because I keep on getting empty emails from it.

Well until I figure out what to actually do with this site, I'll just keep on posting random blahs. :/

Unlooked-for update

Wow, it's been two months since my last update. You could put that down as general laziness on my part. Plus I didn't have anything to work on the blog so it stands to reason why the site is kind-of abandoned.

I'm planning to integrate a HTML editor into the blog soon so that should keep this site alive, at least in the back-end section, that is. I'd post up updates as needed but I can't promise anything else than that.

And oh, I've developed a blogshop template complete with a shopping cart feature. It'll be on sale soon so if you're interested in purchasing a copy, give me a buzz.

Error reporter page

I've added an extra page, which is the 'Error reporter' page so you guys can now submit any errors that you might find on this website along with its correction.

Added the comment notification scipt. I got stuck with the $timestamp issue because the time posted in the comment notification email does not match the time the comment was added. I had to set the timezone code in the process.php page to:

date_default_timezone_set("Asia/Brunei");

placing it just above the

$current_month = date("F");
$current_date = date("d");
$current_year = date("Y");
$current_time = date("h:i");

And all is fixed! :D

I still have to figure out how to replace the $entry with the title of the blog without having the two records overlapping each other.
I've tried inserting the $title by using calling up the MySQL data in the index.php but it ended up emailing the wrong thing instead (because the data from the different records clashed!)

Sherry of Sherrylicious asked if I'm ever going to put a tagboard/chatbox/shoutbox (whatever you call it) on the website. I replied that I would not put the tagboard up as I want to encourage visitors to actually read the blog post instead of merely leaving fleeting messages. However, if you can't relate to the posts I posted here, you can head over to my other websites: Nekonette.com or Kitty-Kat.org or Codeislove.net for more lively stories.

Facebook "like" plugin

So I managed to integrate the FB "like" button plugin with this blog. It took sometime to figure it out since there is no tutorial out there to help me out. The only tutorials that are available on the internet are for Wordpress and Blogger/Blogspot ONLY, and maybe Tumblr. This blog is a homegrown script so the make-up is entirely different.

The only problem I had was to make the "Like" button unique to each posts and initially I had no idea how to do it. It was only when I remembered that I could call the individual ids for each post; (the code below)

<?php echo $row['id']; ?>

and integrate it with the plugin code that the whole code functioned.

Lulz, wish I'd figured it out sooner.
