MILK 2010 music festival was blown away with Irish hottest pop act AMASIS. They performed brilliantly and they looked and sounded amasing. The crowd was so fabulous, happy and supportive - everyone had a blast!!!

So we ask: Why is it that we have to go to a gay festival to witness the true freedom of expression, true sense of community and the unpretentious sharing of joy - we are so proud to have participated in this event - big up to Val and Emma Jane for making this happen - monumental effort!!!!!

The wet weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of over 70,000 revellers at Oxegen at Punchestown this weekend.

Nor was the obligatory mud bath, nor the presence of thousands of vuvuzelas, enough to ruin the mood at Ireland's largest festival. The annoying horns were being sold onsite for €10.

The Punchestown racecourse was thronged yesterday for the second day of the festival and huge crowds are expected today for performances from legendary rapper Eminem, Faithless and 1990s dance band The Prodigy

Other highlights from yesterday included Kasabian, Florence and the Machine, Dizzee Rascal and The Black Eye Peas and new Irish band Amasis.

We are playing the Dance stage, which is a promotion from the original performance on New Artist Stage that was won as part of Meteor Award's prize.

Amasis is on at 14.00 on Saturday 10th July and we are preparing to put up a fierce and electric show for you guys.

Dancing from 12 to 12 to the funky tunes of the best international and Irish DJ’s in the Pink Palace. World class pop and dance music with some of the biggest live headline acts that will pop your gay world.

Line up include: Bodyrox, Bananarama, Alexandra Burke, AMASIS, Andy Moor, Seb Fontaine, Sophie Eliis Bextor and many more!!!

Chill-out and chat-up at the Blue Lagoon, Chill out zone. Tango at the Brazilian, Hollywood and Californian cocktail bars. Amasis is headlining Africa Day Dublin at the Iveagh Gardens open air venue near Harcourt Street Dublin. (On Main Stage at around 18.15pm)

Africa Day Dublin will take place in the Iveagh Gardens (just off Harcourt Street, Dublin 2) The flagship Africa Day event in Dublin will be a fun, family-friendly day out, featuring interactive cultural and educational activities for both children and adults that celebrate and showcase the diversity of African cultures and societies.

Upon arrival at the Iveagh Gardens, visitors will be greeted by the sights, sounds and smells of Africa. The African Bazaar will be a hub of activity, showcasing the food, music and unique cultures of over 20 different African countries. In the Education Zone, visitors will be able to interact with development NGOs and learn more about their work in Africa and development issues through participatory, fun activities.

If you are looking for traditional African food and drinks, visit the Food Zone, where a wide variety of food – from all regions of Africa – will be on offer throughout the day. There will also be cooking demonstrations, during which well-known African and Irish chefs will showcase their favourite African cooking styles.

Music will once again be a key feature of Africa Day, with performances from high-profile African and Irish acts on the Main Stage. A new feature at this year’s flagship event will be the Music Tent, which will feature interactive workshops over the course of the day, where visitors to Africa Day will have the chance to meet and interact directly with the featured performers, as well as try out traditional African instruments, dances and musical styles. Stage Two – adjacent to the African Bazaar – will feature rap, hip-hop and African dance music over the course of the day.

Thousands are expected to attend the festival which is a celebration of African culture.

Fans Update : Danielle Armstrong - an original second vocalist in Amasis, who left the band last year, due to her temporary move to the States. Unfortunately, she was not there to share our success at Meteors, but we always missed her! We are happy to welcome her back to the band and looking forward to our future together!

Last Saturday (7/03/2010) we had our first appearance on national television since the Meteors. We were guests at Pop4 (TG4) and we had an amasing time. Pop4 is the coolest and most informative music show on Irish television, that along with the current international charts brings latest movie releases, interviews with music and movie stars and live performances. Amasis was the first band ever to perform pop number on Pop4, so in a way it was making history!
