Bing certainly thinks people do. That is exactly what led to their latest marketing push to become the "decision" engine...not just a search engine.

The main idea? Without a relationship to the actual search term, the results can be far-fetched, overwhelming and useless. Basically, it's a direct attack on Google's main 'value' to provide the most relevant results each and every time a user hits "search."

So what's next for the sparing Search Engines? Google rolled out +1!

+1 is basically Google Search's version of a "like" from Facebook. The reason? Google put it like this: "Relevance is about relationships as well as words on a webpage."

Of course, users need to create a Google profile to participate. Still in the experimental phases (yes...you can join the experiment if you'd like), +1 will be changing the game for SEO--the only question is to what degree it will change!

If you've been in SEO long...you know this isn't a significant change to the way SEO works. With hundreds of factors in the algorithm, variables and weights changing all the time, adding another known element to the equation can actually be encouraging.

Having reconnected with many Tucson friends through Facebook, I started seeing their posts shortly after the event occurred and in seeing pictures on the news, realized that this tragic event took place in a very familiar shopping center located just a few minutes from where I used to live.

Even though Arizona politics have become heated in recent years, I couldn't imagine something like this happening in this small community. Growing up in Tucson, I can recall many times where I felt like it was too small of a town for me. Now that I live in a big city, I always enjoy coming home to this picturesque, desert community where life moves at a much slower pace.

It's a day, an event brought back into our national conscience on September 11, 2001 when the people of New York City and the people of the United States were attacked. It drew comparison to the attacks at Pearl Habor as an "even worse disaster!"

For the generation who grew up in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor and World War 2, the significance of Pearl Harbor has perhaps dimmed, but never lost.

I remember my trip to Pearl in the late 90's, visiting the site of what is now the USS Arizona Memorial, knowing the bodies of American naval personnel are entombed below that site on the Arizona. It's a solemn visit for anyone-and it was for me.

"Infamy"--a "state of extreme dishonor!" Certainly not these brave young men from the Arizona--but dishonor to their names, to their courage--to each one of them and their families.

So we take this day, December 7, 2010 to honor these fallen comrades. And we honor those who continue to serve courageously and selflessly in parts of the world we can't even pronounce!

Many other children are sick and dying of cholera and malaria as water conditions deteriorate.

Children are always the most vulnerable in these natural disasters. But it's not natural to take advantage of their vulnerability. And it's not acceptable!

This past weekend, the backlash of a major hurricane with winds and rain further complicates life, with even more contaminated water and tenuous housing conditions.

The good news is the involvement of ministry organizations and others--some of whom we have the privilege of serving--such as HCJB Global, Compassion International, and Mercy Ships. These are ministries on the ground in places like Haiti. They're partnering with medical teams, with Samaritan's Purse, with local churches and schools to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable. They were there before the earthquake and they are there now. And they plan to stay until they're no longer needed.

Interest and focus on places like Haiti, on children and their families is easily ignored once the "storm is over." But Proverbs 31: 8 and 9 makes it clear what we're to do. "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."

Thank you HCJB Global, Compassion International, Mercy Ships, Samaritan's Purse, International Justice Mission-and so many others for doing just that!

"At least seven people killed and 12 wounded in a mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, a Pentagon official says." (Latest on Fort Hood shooting)

Immediately, our thoughts and prayers went to the victims' family and friends. We slowly shook our heads in disbelief. We offered wordless prayers and admitted we're troubled that tragedy has hit so close to home.

Like us, we know that listeners across the country, and especially in the Fort Hood area, are wrestling with God's sovereignty in the midst of disaster. That's why we at Ambassador immediately sent a number of urgent emails and text messages to the speakers we work with: "What do you say? How can we comfort people in distress?"

Without delay, Charles Morris hopped in the studio to prepare a special "HAVEN Today" and :60 "HAVEN NOW" for Monday called "Seeing Jesus When We Don't Know He's There."

Brad Mattes of "Life Issues", whose son recently returned from Iraq, shared in a recorded message that he understands the anguish families experience worrying about their loved ones.

Monday our engineers replaced Tuesday's "UpWords" with Max Lucado so he could say, "And my prayer is for your comfort as we all struggle to make sense of what's taken place. These will be difficult days ahead. But Romans 8:35 is our hope: Can anything separate us from the love Christ has for us?"

In God's provision, Joni Eareckson Tada had planned to be in the studio last Friday, so she added her thoughts, "All of us at the ministry have put you on our staff prayer list--asking God to cover you with his comfort."

Pastoring a church in Dallas, Pete Briscoe of "Telling the Truth" sent a recorded voice memo from his iPhone - "Even now that it's no longer in the news, please keep praying not only for the families of Fort Hood, but for the families of our armed men and women who are in the theatre of war at this very time."

It's our prayer that listeners around the country, and especially in the Fort Hood area, will be encouraged to hear about God's presence in the midst of this storm . . . and blessed to know of the prayers being offered.

Giving Honor this Veteran's Day

Wednesday, November 11th is Veteran's Day. Designed to let soldiers and their families know they're not alone, we invite you to share "Life and Liberty: Calling a Nation to Prayer" with your listeners . . . the focus of this special is clear and simple: prayer for our men and women serving our country.

They've found Favor. Oh yes!! With God and man and everyone who knows them in the person of a precious six year old Ethiopian girl whose name is Favor. Is that just perfect or what?

This is one of those moments when God blesses those who watch and pray with the joy of sharing in what's being experienced this very moment in Ethiopia.

When Favor was only 20 days old she was abandoned by her teenage mother and raised in a home for street children and orphans. Carol Price saw her picture nearly two years ago at a Bible study in her church. She couldn't resist this little girl and now after 15 months, and lots of prayer and anticipation, Favor Price arrives in the U.S. on Saturday.

Addis Ababa in Amharic is "new flower!" And what better way for her friends at Ambassador to acknowledge our little new friend than to say with roses, "Selam Favor!"
