It’s Free! – There’s no cost to residents of Price William County to drop off their yard waste, recyclables, or even just trash. Consider delivering these items directly to the processing center to ensure their timely arrival.
Share Your Ideas – Have a flair for planning? There’s a monthly meeting where you can share your ideas for solid waste management so if you’ve got grand plans for the county’s garbage, make your voice heard at those. You can find their contact information on their website.

Lucky and his pal Charms were surrendered because dogs aren’t allowed where their owners live now. Lucky is the silky long-haired member of this dynamic duo, and Charms is the sleek short-haired model, but they both have lovely cream and sienna markings and handsome faces. And they both have a too-funny habit of doing handstands when they’re marking their territory. They’re both pretty nervous right now, as you can imagine, with Charms being a feisty little fellow indeed, so they would be happiest in an adult-only home where they can relax and be loved for who they are. Facebook Now Part of Job Hiring Process in VA?

VA trooper application requires Facebook profile review

When you first made your Facebook profile, did you ever think that you would lose control over your privacy? Yes, putting your information out there on the internet does present us with certain risks, but that’s what the privacy settings are for, right?

Well, for those of you Amberton residents who are thinking of applying to be VA state troopers, you’re going to want to clean up your profiles, removing anything you wouldn’t want your employers to see. This could include silly pictures, posts about your personal life and anything else that you feel would reveal too much about your outside-of-work alter ego.

While you will not be required to give out your log-in credentials, you will have to at least make the contents of your profile available by logging in, and also allow a state police background investigator to review the contents.

Executive director of the ACLU of Virginia, Kent Willis, feels that this is similar to “asking to see someone’s diary.” He continues, saying “There ought to be some distinction between your private life and your life at work.” Do you agree, Amberton peeps?

I guess the moral to this story is, if you’re looking to work as a trooper (and potentially many other positions), either don’t keep social media pages or, more likely, make sure your profiles are “work appropriate.” It is important to note that the Virginia Department of Corrections does not require this kind of search.
