The U.S. Welcomes The Snow Queen With Open Arms

London/Ottawa, October 2, 2006 – Total Eclipse Television, PKJ Music and Amberwood Entertainment today announced that the television rights to their seasonal special “The Snow Queen” has been licensed in the United States to PBS. DVDs, CDs and books based on the film will all be available in time for Thanksgiving.

“The Snow Queen”, which is based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale features live-action actors on CG backgrounds, created by London studio, Intro, set to a haunting score by the UK’s Paul K. Joyce.

The Special premiered to rave reviews in December of 2005 on the BBC and CBC. BBC Worldwide holds distribution rights to the 56-minute special for the world, excluding North America, and has licensed the titles to numerous territories worldwide.

David Mercer of Total Eclipse Television noted, " PBS is a great broadcaster for the Snow Queen in the USA and we are confident that the accompanying book will prove as captivating as the film."

Amberwood acquires worldwide distribution rights to Under the Umbrella Tree

Ottawa, August 28, 2006 – Amberwood today announced that it has acquired the worldwide television distribution rights to “Under the Umbrella Tree” from Noreen Young Productions.

The series, which originally aired on the CBC in Canada and The Disney Channel in the US, features the endearing puppet characters Iggy the Iguana, Jacob Blue Jay, Gloria Gopher, and their real life friend Holly. The imaginative stories captivate young children both with charming characters and their message.

The series is comprised of 200 completed fifteen minute episodes and Amberwood will be taking the series to MIPCOM and is making the series available for screening at MIPCOM JR. in order to secure international sales.

HAGI Signs On For More Benjamin Bear

Ottawa, August 15, 2006 – Amberwood Productions today announced that HAGI, the current rights holder in Poland for The Secret World of Benjamin Bear has licensed the television and DVD rights to the series in several additional territories.

The expanded deal will see HAGI acquire the rights to Amberwood’s Benjamin Bear in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria.

In making the announcement Jonathan Wiseman, Director of Sales & Marketing at Amberwood said, “It is great to have the support of HAGI. They have got strong plans for the series in Poland and will be an excellent partner to introduce the property to the majority of Eastern Europe.

The Series, commissioned by Canadian broadcaster Family Channel, is comprised of 78 x 11-minute episodes to date, which can be delivered as 39 half-hours.

Amberwood's Benjamin Bear Strikes Home Video & DVD Deal With Italy's Cattleya

Ottawa, Canada, June 19, 2006 – Amberwood today announced that it has licensed Italian Home Video & DVD rights for “The Secret World of Benjamin Bear” to Cattleya.

Cattleya originally licensed all television rights to the series for Italy and Italian Speaking Europe and has since placed it with MediaSet, who subsequently also came onboard for Merchandising & Licensing in Italy.

Chantal Ling Appointed Executive Vice-President of Amberwood Entertainment

Ottawa, Canada, June 5th, 2006 – Amberwood Entertainment has today announced that Chantal Ling, head of production, has been promoted to Executive Vice-President of the company.

Entering her third year with Amberwood, Chantal has produced numerous titles including “The Secret World of Benjamin Bear”, and “The Snow Queen” – a live-action/CG special for the BBC and CBC.

Chantal will now be responsible for overseeing all development, production, distribution, and merchandising activities at Amberwood and its subsidiaries.

Amberwood licenses 78 half-hours of Hoze Houndz to Spain

April 5th, 2006, Cannes. Amberwood Entertainment today announced that it has licensed 78 half hour episodes of its animated series Hoze Houndz to LUK Internacional of Spain.

Hoze Houndz is an animated comedy for kids 7-11 commissioned by Canada's Family Channel. Each comprised of 2x11 minute stories, all 78 episodes are currently available for delivery.
