At times I find it difficult to group enough photos to throw together an article post every week. My solution to that is a new On-The-Go section that will catalog a few of my weekly activities around Hong Kong. This should hopefully allow me to update on a frequent basis and provide you with fresh content.

I just coded this section today so there may be bugs, but so far so good on my end. Please let me know of any glitches. Thanks and enjoy!

Attended a wedding on the top level of the Peninsula Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Was on the rooftop to get photographed with the groom-to-be next to the helicopter, which actually gave the bride and a few others a quick tour of HK before the ceremony. Here’s the view over to the Hong Kong convention and exhibition centre.

Finally had a chance to check out Volar in Lan Kwai Fong for the first time, after being invited to the Diesel party there. Went with a few friends, had a drink, and listened to the live band before heading to another club. Just wasn’t my type of music or atmosphere that night.

What are your favorite HK clubs?

The season has arrived for eating hairy crabs this year. Hairy crabs are popular among Asian countries and is in most demand for the female crab roe. There’s a certain etiquette when it comes to eating one of these that can only come with experience after being taught.

These particular crabs were flown down from Shanghai but weren’t so good because of their small size. I’ve probably had at least 3 meals with hairy crabs since mid October and can’t seem to get enough. The best one’s I’ve had so far were at a restaurant priced at $500 HKD (~$65 USD) per. Prices are usually charged by weight.

For the year or so I’ve lived here, I have conditioned myself to block out most if not all noises coming from this busy district and in through my apartment windows. At night when the city rests is when I come out to relish the silence and tranquil streets.

Very rare that you will find this particular street this empty during the day. Anyone know the street name?
