I haven’t posted new content to this blog in a while because I’ve been running around the last couple weeks. First went to Maui for a week for a MUCH NEEDED break. Then I moved into a pimp new house on the beach. Every marketer and business owner needs to take a break to get away and just not think about shit before they get busy again. It’s kind of like producers block and writers block. Sometimes you’re just don’t feel like doing anything so that’s when you should not think about a damn thing related to what you do everyday and just get away. When I used to make music all the time, I would have days where I would not have inspiration or creativity at all in making the music. No ideas, nothing. So I would just not even look at any of my music equipment for days or even weeks until I got the “urge” to make music again.

In the internet marketing world I called this “Marketers block” or “Affiliate block”. Where you just have done so much work you get “burnt” and you can’t continue to do anything else and just sit on Twitter and Facebook all day. (both of which are a complete waste of time). Or you just sit around refreshing Gmail and your aff stats all day. When this happens, you either have to just step away for a couple hours. If it gets to the point where you are doing day after day after day, JUST LEAVE. Don’t think about it for a while, a couple days, weeks, whatever.

This basically gives your brain some time to relax and realize what you really want to do. So when you DO get back into work mode you can be twice as effective in what you do.

So when this happened to me recently I just left and went to Maui for 6 days. Just to get away and be in a different environment. Away from everything. Sure I checked emails every now and then, but that’s okay. “Marketer’s” block doesn’t usually happen to me a lot because I absolutely love what I do, but when it does, it hits me hard.

Check out some pics from Maui:

While in Maui, I decided to rent a new place and get a complete change of scenery for when I get back to Cali. I signed the papers from the resort and faxed them back to the real estate agent. I came home and the next day I started packing and moved out.

Anyway, a couple people hit me up on FB and Twitter asking me about my new house. This place is bad (”not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good”) and I figured this was the only time I would be able to live in a ridiculous place like this. My front yard is the beach! The place is 4 bedrooms, super contemporary modern, glass everywhere (even the steps), a retractable roof, and just pure gangstaness.

Who said affiliate/cpa marketing is dead?

That’s not the only thing we do at the company, but it’s a huge piece.

Anyway, here are some pics of the new house that I took from my iPhone. They aren’t the best pics in the world, but decent. Check it -

Speaking of this new house, here is another thing that caught me off guard. I always write stuff down in my notepads. Everything related to my business and my personal development is written down in this notebook. I have 10 of these things full of ideas, biz stuff, thoughts, doodles, and other cool stuff. Check out this list I made about 5 months ago (I blurred some stuff out because those ideas are top secret.)

Now look at the first thing I wrote on that list. It actually came true. Just goes to show that visioning and writing down what you want in life works. I actually accomplished a lot on that list and just a couple more things to go!

aaaaaaaaaannnnnddddd i’m out. time to make more of my stuff reality.

When it comes to marketing online there is a HUGE power struggle. This power struggle is a bit hidden to the average marketer because money can be made on many different levels.

In one of my previous posts titled “Affiliate Marketing vs Internet Marketing vs Brand Marketing”

Most affiliate marketers know about traffic and know how to make a buck driving traffic to offers via different traffic means. Most internet marketers have products but have no idea how to drive traffic to their sites (which is pretty much useless)!

Take a look at the graphic below (it’s clickable – don’t be shy):

Now this is where you see that most marketers are just BROKERS. Nothing but flippers. They flip things to make a bigger profit. Don’t get me wrong, brokers can make a TON of money and already are. But what happens when all the components above start becoming a single broker?

Like Google?

Google has PPC and Search on lock down. They also have their own affiliate network, a ton of affiliates, & media through their contextual network. They OWN the whole space for being the “middle man”.

Look at AOL! They just started the same thing by creating their own affiliate networks.

So now these big guys are nothing but one big broker that handle the whole middle section of the diagram above. Essentially taking us affiliate marketers out of the picture.

Why wouldn’t they just run their own traffic through their own affiliate network and just make money for themselves? It’s bound to happen.

So where is the REAL power on the ‘net?

The people who CREATE products and the people who OWN sites. Plain and Simple.

You can get paid on products you create if you MAKE THEM RIGHT. Which brings me to a product that I recently came across called “CPA Tsunami“.

When Mike Hill (the owner of CPA Tsunami) launched his product about 2 months ago, I was so impressed with his pre-launch material that I bought the course. AND I DON’T BUY ANYONE’S COURSE!!!! It was definitely worth it, because I could tell this guy knew what he was talking about.

I’ve never met Mike Hill before, but we chat on Skype pretty often and have had a couple phone conversations. This dude is ON POINT. He charges $25,000 per DAY for companies to consult with him on creating their products. Not only that, but he’s pretty similar to me. We are similar in the spiritual, self help, business mentality and much more. Weird…but true.

Anyway for a limited time, Mike is giving away some free tactics on product and offer creation. His value trojan and micro payments concepts are absolutely brilliant.

Make sure you soak this all up and implement it. Mike’s giving away $25k worth of training for free. Check it out here.

When I was speaking to him this morning, he told me that this is the FIRST AND LAST time he will ever create a product and honestly enjoys making products and managing traffic much more. (So don’t expect this to stick around too long.)

As far as the diagram I created above, I am going to elaborate a bit more on CREATING your own sites and BEING the whole diagram in a different post.

I hope you guys get where I’m coming from and where the future is headed!

Do you know how to set up a micro-payment option?
Do you know how to use “Network Style” pages?
Do you use Micro-Commitments in your sales pages?
Can you make a short copy sales page?
Have you pulled max value from Upsells in your path?

If not, you have to see Mike’s material! Watch some videos here…

The question still remains – is there a formula for Pay Per Click?

As I was talking about in my previous post about “PPC and The Stock Market”, I think there is a systematic approach to PPC marketing and huge profits CAN be made very simply if you automate everything (except for landing pages, but even that can be automated.) Building technology is KEY to what you do (or at least using other technology and knowledge!)

There are tons of courses teaching you how to do PPC. There are TONS of free resources too. They are all over the place now. But, in my opinion, only a handful, if that, know what they are REALLY talking about.

Of course we got grey hat and black hat guys crushing it. Muhahaha! But, we’ll leave that for another post (or never).

Anyway, one of those those rare few people who know what they are doing is Gauher Chaudhry.

Gauher Chaudhry has just released three videos on a pretty cool strategy called “Power Regeneration Strategy“. It teaches you how to get up to 25% of lost visitors to turn into conversions.

I know most marketers are like, okay, I’ve seen this before. But I’ve never tested what he is talking about with rotating offers and landing page with this technique. Or even with the iframe deal he shows. Interesting concepts. Let me know if you’ve tested what he says in his strategy.

Gauher also is giving away his 89 page report on CPA marketing that he originally gave away when he launched the CPA Hot Spot thing he did a while ago. In this “breathe of fresh air” report, Gauher goes into landing pages, the dark side of CPA marketing, free traffic, paid traffic, and some other stuff. And by “breathe of fresh air”, I mean not some silly ebook that tells you how to sign up for Adwords. I mean some hardcore material (mostly for newbs…)

The first time I heard about Gauher was about 2.5 years ago when he released Pay Per Click Formula 1.0. He had screen shots on his sales page and in his course that showed over $200K a month in revenue from CPA marketing. I was blown away that someone could make that much with CPA offers. At that time I was doing CPS (cost per sale) through commission junction, arbitrage and eBay stuff. So CPA marketing wasn’t really anything I was interesting in. Why?

I thought it was just a trend…

…but I was wrong!

Gauher and I chatted briefly on the phone after I saw his numbers and he found out about me. We both had something in common. We were both doing VERY well with PPC.

He revealed to me a little of what he was doing and then he sent me his course. After going through the course, I had to admit that his course was GREAT. Again, a breathe of fresh air for courses on PPC/CPA. Using the knowledge I had before and combining it with some of Gauher’s methods for CPA marketing, proved to be extremely powerful. I automate almost 80% of my PPC stuff now, but this course is a starting point, a mid level course, and a somewhat advanced course too.

We even give Pay Per Click Formula to our employees to learn how to manage campaigns and learn PPC to CPA marketing from the ground up. Our employees LOVE his stuff.

And remember my post about the nerdy dude who outsourced his whole life?

Well, you can sure as hell guarantee I am going to be sending the new philipinos this course and tell them to study it inside out. And what????? RUN MY CAMPAIGNS FOR ME.

Anyway, check out what Gauher has to say about his “Power Regeneration Strategy” and in his 89 page report.

Let me know your thoughts on his strategy too! I’m interested to hear MORE results from other people who tested this.

P.S. – I am going to be uploading my hour long presentation I did at an event about a year ago soon. This should come in pretty handy with the other stuff you’ll be getting here. Stay tuned.

About a month and a half ago I met a dude named Jon Jonas at the biggest and baddest seminar of all time, ours of course. (no i’m really not going to stop talkin’ about it! )

Anyway, I’ve only heard about Jon through random people saying that he works 18 hours a week, AT THE MOST. I really didn’t believe this could be done, but damn, this guy blew my mind with his knowledge.

So it all started when Jay Deiboldt approached me about 3 weeks before the seminar and asked if Jon Jonas could speak on stage with him. Jay said this guy Jon knows outsourcing like nobody else and would go perfect with his presentation.

I said, ya sure go ahead, as long as he don’t gotta pitch.

So then I meet Jon Jonas in Diego the day the event started. I never met this guy before. This guy’s from Utah, and looks like a nerd. Really! haha.. I could have swore he was some nerd who just does tech stuff. The glasses, the pink shirts, the golf hats, khaki’s, the whole 9. Now I’m not crackin’ on this guy, it’s just not my style…LOL… But, then he gave his presentation and I was pretty much floored. This guy Jon Jonas knew his shit about outsourcing. Pure genius when it comes to outsourcing. He’s a SMART dude and cool to chill with. (outside of his gear..haha..ok sorry jonas..had to do that)

He took it upon himself to outsource EVERYTHING he does. No, not just customer service.

I mean:
1) Creating campaigns
2) Optimizing campaigns
3) Setting up landing pages
4) Making banners and PPC text ads
5) Split test everything
6) Customer service
7) Running media buys
8 ) Making sure networks are paying
9) Creating products
10) Managing the products
11) Research on ANYTHING
12) Link building
13) Article writing and posting
14) Programming anything
15) Reporting
16) The list just goes on and on

I mean, isn’t the above most of our businesses?

Now when he told me he outsourced this stuff, I didn’t know what to say. He has a staff in the Philippines that he pays at the most $450 per person per MONTH. I was just speechless, but at the same time VERY intrigued. He outsourced things that I wouldn’t trust ANYONE with. But he put full trust in them!

He teaches them how to do certain tasks and sets up Visio diagrams and Camtasia videos for them. In fact, one of his own staff members MADE a Visio diagram for HIM to review on what the company should do! WTF!!!!!!!!

He trains them on exactly what they need to know and they run with it.

This genius nerd guy sits back now and plays golf EVERYDAY and has all the free time to do whatever he wants. Now to teach someone to do anything you want and trusting them speaks of major trust, but his explanation is that paying them $450 a month is actually A LOT in the Philippines. So they are happy to do what you want so they can grow with your business.

This is something our company never did. We outsource stuff like landing pages, graphics, small programming tasks and other stuff. But never campaigns, optimization, testing, etc. I’ve NEVER had luck with outsourcing full time jobs. I have used India before (that really never worked), but never really used his ways of finding people in the Philippines. Jonas has his own staffing agency too which is bad ass (kinda like bestjobs.ph).

But the more we started thinking about it, we were like why not? That’s the work that nobody really wants to do, right?

So we looked into his program and I have to say, that it just kicks ass. No wonder this guy is chillin’. He literally REPLACED himself. Completely.

He took himself out of the everyday business stuff and now he focuses 100% on the creative side of the business. Which is what EVERYONE needs to be doing!

Here’s why:

It reminds me of a GREAT book I read about two months ago – A Whole New Mind. This really couldn’t have came at a better time. I read this book and it talked about outsourcing everyday tasks to “knowledge workers”, people who just do tasks that are very straight forward and just require an analytical mind (left sided thinkers). And the right brainers were the one’s who are the creative side of the business. Those are the people who MAKE a huge difference in the world because it is the CREATIVE side of them coming out which is what REALLY sells. Then a week later Jonas tells me about this whole outsourcing and how easy it can really be.

Immediately we started figuring out where we need people like this. So we started looking to hire some dudes from the east side of the world (or the west, depending where you live!) and we found some qualified people pretty quickly. They are gonna start working for us in a week. Just hired 2 people, and looking for a third. I mean for $1,500 a month at the most, we can get 3 to 4 people!

Now we have our staff creating videos on daily tasks that take up time that they don’t want to do, and give it to them. Duh?!

These guys are dedicated employees who will take our biz to the next level.

So anyway, Jon Jonas’s “Replace Myself” is just an ridiculously easy way to find people and hire cheap people who are experienced. He already has a DB of resumes to look at! Don’t think it could get any easier than that.

Moral of the story – STOP doing shit you don’t need to. BE A RIGHT BRAINER!

Here are 37 Emotional Benefits:

These were derived via extensive quantitative research with thousands of consumers, a panel of psychologists, and marketing consultants who specialized in assessing emotional purchase motivation. Taken together, the list is probably the best representation of the full spectrum of human needs which can be met by purchasing a given product or service.

1. Feeling Loved: Feeling Loved implies that a person has a satisfactory number of significant attachments in his or her life from whom (s)he receives an adequate amount of emotional nourishment on a daily basis

2. Feeling Attractive: Having a strong level of comfort with one’s physical being. Knowing that one is pleasant to look at and able to draw attention by virtue of one’s physical presence. (Note: ‘Feeling Sexy’ … the specific ability to attract a desired sexual partner, is a special kind of attractiveness, which is rated separately)

3. Sense of Adventure: Interested in exciting and remarkable experiences, sometimes involving unknown danger and risk.
Rising to the challenge, exploring new territory, feeling excited about new leanings, new experiences, etc.

4. Feeling Financially Secure: Believing one has adequate money to take care of the majority of their BASIC needs and desires in the present and in the future. Feeling Financially Secure is different than Feeling Affluent or Wealthy – which means one believes they have enough money to buy WHATEVER they desire (more than basic needs and wishes) and has more money than one could reasonably spend.

5. Sense of Accomplishment: Seeing progressive evidence in one’s life that particular worthwhile goals are being sought after and achieved.

6. Feeling Caring or Nurturing: Interested in providing emotional, physical, financial, or spiritual support to others, warmly enjoying the process of doing so.

7. Being Altruistic: Able to sacrifice oneself for the benefit of society. To forgo one’s own gratification in favor of the interest of others whose well-being will not enhance one’s own.

8. Being Assertive: Able to stand up for and strive to obtain one’s own interests, especially given the presence of difficult people who stand in the way.

9. Feeling Brave or Courageous: Being willing to face risk and danger for the purpose of obtaining a positive benefit (when it is judged to be beneficial and wise to take the risk). (Being willing to face risk and danger without judgment is ‘foolhardiness’).

10. Feeling Creative: Interested in and able to UNIQUELY express oneself in words, behavior, or the arts.

11. Excitement or Liveliness: Having a strong sense of being alive, having the energy and interest to partake of all life has to offer.

12. Feeling Fair, Just, or Ethical: Marked by impartiality and honesty. Able to make judgments free from self-interest, prejudice, or favoritism. Interested in upholding these principles.

13. Feeling Luxurious or Pampered: The belief that one has enough resources at hand to enable splurging on things that are understood to be unnecessary DESIRES as opposed to essential NEEDS.

14. Feeling Healthy: Having confidence in one’s physical well being, strength, and ability to avoid disease and illness.

15. Feeling Athletic: Having confidence in one’s physical strength, stamina, flexibility, and ability to meet various physical challenges. (Especially sports, but also non-competitive physical challenges)

16. Feeling Flexible or Adaptable: Able to change one’s perspective and use one’s strengths according to the demands of a wide variety of situations.

17. Feeling Free: Being able to say what one wants to say, think what one wants to think, go where one wants to go, be with people one wants to be with, and behave how one wants to behave. Generally, being able to do as one pleases!

18. Being a Good Friend: Believing oneself to be attached to and supportive of a cared for other. Providing companionship and enjoying their company.

19. Enjoying Humor: Seeking to laugh regularly. Enjoying the ludicrous or absurd. Liking to make others laugh.

20. Feels like a Good Teacher: Able to successfully impart useful knowledge or abilities to others.

21. Being In Control: Able to influence one’s self and surroundings as desired. Being able to predict, manage, and successfully react to the occurrence of stressful events. Having the ability to decide when, how, and where one will engage in particular verbal or behavioral expressions.

22. Feeling Independent: Able to care for oneself, not requiring others to meet one’s needs.

23. Being Insightful: Able to make useful new connections. Seeing the broader picture, able to understand the way things work in new ways.

24. Having Integrity: Walking the walk, not just talking the talk. Knowing one’s behaviors are consistent with one’s principles. Able to put off or deny one’s own gratification at the moment in favor of a cherished principle. Being willing to hold oneself accountable for one’s actions.

25. Feeling Wise or Intelligent: Being mentally keen or quick. Knowing that one has a high degree of mental capacity which has been used to accumulate the kinds of knowledge and experience which makes one particularly well suited to meet the challenges of life.

26. Taking a Leadership Role: Serving as a leader for others, helping guide others towards worthwhile goals and being directly responsible for their supervision and performance.

27. Peaceful – Relaxed – Calm: Feeling peaceful, relaxed or calm. Having peace of mind, body, and spirit.

28. Having a Sense of Power: Able to wield influence over one’s own life and over others. Occupying a position of importance in life.

29. Being Productive: Believing oneself to be effective in consistently contributing some valuable work product to one’s own life, family, or society.

30. Feeling Respected: Being acknowledged and recognized for one’s value or contributions to one’s loved ones, family or society.

31. Feeling Spiritual: Feeling an established connection with a higher power of one’s own definition (one that transcends the mortal world). Can be, but is not necessarily, the higher power defined in one’s chosen religion.

32. Feeling Sexy: The specific ability to arouse the desire to mate in a potential partner of the desired gender. (Feeling Sexy is a specific type of the more general ‘Feeling Attractive’: which is knowing that one is pleasant to look at and able to draw attention by virtue of one’s physical presence).

33. Feeling Romantic: Enjoying the thoughts, feelings and perceptions associated with the desire to be ONE with another human being.

34. Feeling Safe: Reasonably knowing no harm will come to oneself. Able to rest assured in life or in a relationship.

35. Sense of Belonging: Knowing on a gut level that one is part of a family, group of friends, or society where one ‘fits in’ due to similar values, beliefs, and behavioral tendencies.

36. Feeling Trustworthy: Will not harm others in favor of one’s own gratification if given the opportunity. Reliable, dependable, able to be counted on.

37. Feeling Unique: Feeling unique implies that one is aware of being an individual distinct from all others.

These emotional labels and single paragraph descriptions were derived from an extensive quantitative research with thousands of consumers, a panel of psychologists, and marketing consultants who specialized in assessing emotional purchase motivation. Together, the list is probably the best portrayal of the full spectrum of human needs which can be met by purchasing a given product or service. When you understand the logical connection between one of the above features and the way that the feature exclusively supports the prospect’s self esteem, your attempts to entwine emotion into your marketing ads are much more realistic and effective and do NOT require hype or “emotional attitude.”

Most people tend to over look this factor, but CTR (click through rate) is the MOST important aspect of your online campaigns.

Why?

CTR determines two important things:

1) How many visitors come to your Landing Page (if you use one) or Offer from your advertisement.

2) How many visitors click from your Landing Page (again, if you use one) and to the Offer.

This first part is obviously huge because the more people you can GET to your landing page the more people you have to review your landing page and offer. Your ad copy/creative has to be enticing and provide some kind of emotional benefit. It has to make the person want to click and get to your site for more information.

I’ve noticed with text ads, you want to use emotional benefits and other aspects which will be explained later on in this post. But text ads are pretty interesting because you have to fit your whole pitch in 3 lines, which can be difficult to do sometimes. A cool little trick I use is to look at my data in HexaTrack (or any spy tool) and view the ads that have been there the longest and find common words in each ad. I then write all those words down and try to incorporate all those words into my ad copy.

I’ve seen my ad copy swiped so many times, it’s ridiculous. That’s why people who do that will never REALLY succeed. Because they are not creative. They just can’t think of their own ad copy or be creative. Remember, creative people will always outdo people who copy others. Because they are ahead of the curve.

With banner creatives, there are two approaches. The ghetto banners that look like they were made in Microsoft Paint work like gangbusters. Plain and simple – the ghetto-er the banner, the better it will perform. However, this is NOT always the case. In one of our recent media buys the sites we were advertising on were authority sites. The “fancier” banners with nicer graphics seemed to out perform the ghetto banners (by .2% !!!). This is where we had to look into demographics. We put these websites into Quantcast to learn the demographics and we even find backlinks in Google to see what kind of sites are pointing to these authority site. You can punch all these sites into Quantcast as well. After looking at the demographics, you can make your judgement on what banners would work the best.

So hopefully you know why increasing the CTR on your ad is extremely important. Better Ads = Better CTR = More eyes on Landing Page = More Sales.

So now what about landing pages? CTR is so damn important on landing pages that it can make or break your campaign. Your copy, your design, your text size, colors, you name it. You have to ENGAGE the user and make them feel “home”.

We always try to get the copy/design on our landing pages to get a 30% CTR. That’s the lowest we will go before we scratch the copy/design and create a new one. Some of our landing pages have over 80% CTR and after analyzing why, it makes a lot of sense.

When you write good copy on your landing page, you have already presold the customer. The higher the CTR on your landing pages in turn means more customers.

Over the years, the clear winner has always been a landing page that truly get’s in touch with the customers mind. Combine that with an emotional ad and you have a winning combination.

However, I noticed something about landing pages that was pretty interesting to me. CTR is NOT always the most important thing! We always thought CTR was the most important factor on the landing page.

Guess what? It WASN’T.

It’s about QUALIFYING CUSTOMERS earlier.

CTR on the landing pages could mean you got people to click through but not all of them are qualified. For example, we ran a test and split test two pages. One was getting a 33% CTR and the other was getting a 29% CTR.

BUT – the 29% CTR page was making more money.

This was because we had REAL good anchoring and calls to actions. You’ll be surprised on how you can increase the number of qualified customers just by viewing heat maps of your landing pages.

ClickTale and CrazyEgg are both pretty good services to look at heatmaps and videos of your users movements. I personally use ClickTale just because I’ve been using it forever now.

So what you do is look for where your heatmap is red (heavy viewing) and you put relevant links to your offers in there. Now just don’t put in something like “Get It Now!” or shit like that. Get creative and make certain parts of your copy click-able. This is what is called anchoring in NLP. You can start with certain words or phrases in the beginning of your copy and then you can anchor those same terms to make them click on certain words or phrases. (again utilizing emotional benefits…)

Another thing you want to do is see where the users interest is not really there anymore on your page. Make sure you are always engaging the user. Find the RED heatmap parts and try to incorporate the same copy/text/design/calls to action into the yellow and green parts of the heatmap.

Red obviously meaning more eye balls and time spent and green meaning no time spent. (not sure how the color scheme actually works on other services, but there should be a legend to go by.)

Your ad copy and/or creative have to be on point. They have to have somehow get emotional benefits out to the prospect. What you want to do is rationally map out the pathway from a particularly desired feature (of the product), which gives relay to a rational benefit (how does it benefit the user), which in the end leads to an emotional end benefit (how should it make the user feel?), which makes me feel GREAT about myself!

Understanding emotional benefit is no longer a mystical concept. It’s simply “something nice I feel about myself because I use your product or service.”

In our world it also applies to CONSIDERING using your product or service. So an emotional benefit is “something nice I feel about myself because I click your ad.” And this all occurs below the level of consciousness, whether you realize it or not!

Here are 37 Emotional Benefits to use with your AD copy and such…

Greetings,

Do you know what PPV traffic is?

No? Learn About it Here

Pay Per View (PPV) traffic is a term that Gauher Chaudhry coined after the real term “CPV” or Cost Per View.

I’ve been using this type of traffic to secretly make a ton of money promoting CPA offers and affiliate products for the past year and a half. (some campaigns making almost $8k a day!) myself, along with other quiet marketers have literally never said a peep about this.

I’m kinda pissed that Gauher is even releasing this course to the public. This is literally the first tell all course on how to really dominate with PPV traffic.

PPV/CPV traffic is traffic that literally costs HALF A CENT per impression. Yes, I said half a cent.

Again, YES .005 cents PER impression.

You know what else?

You don’t have to write ad copy, there is no quality score, there is no need to create landing pages, and there is barely any competition.

Sounds too good to be true, huh?

Gauher was one of the first people ever to bring this type of traffic to the public with his course Pay Per View Formula. It was only available to his internal list but he has made it public now.

BUT, he is only letting a couple of his good friends help him promote it. So consider yourself lucky! This is not going to be some crazy launch where every one and their mother promotes it.

Gauher delivers value and content. Period.

Check out some free videos and stuff he has coming up for this course.

P.S. – You really have to see this. It’s insane…CPV Traffic Exposed

What exactly is the difference between Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing and Brand Marketing? People think that Affiliate Marketing and Internet Marketing are the same and Internet Marketing and Brand Marketing are the same. I tend to disagree. I am still trying to master all three, but I noticed that there are some differences and some similarities as well. But all in all, WAY different marketing tactics. It’s been my mission to try and bridge the gap for quite some time between all three and I think I’m getting there slowly.

If you can master all THREE of these types of marketing, you won’t need any VC money or other money to make your companies big and successful. It’ll just happen. Trust me. (some people aren’t really interested in making it “big” and some are happy to just have a small biz and be okay. me? i’m shootin for the stars!)

(p.s. – it’s 70% about trust, authority and the free model…the other 30% is personality and character)

Okay so here is what I have discovered over the last 5 years…

“Affiliate Marketers” are people who push products via various traffic sources for commission checks. Most of these people are to themselves and have very little contact with the outside world. I used to be this way. I used to sit at home and just churn away at my first big success story. Google Arbitrage. I had my own systems built via outsourcing and hacked some stuff up myself. I was absolutely killing it online with arbitrage. I could have made Shoemoney look like a joke with that check he holds over his face. LOL.

As time went on I was getting heavy with affiliate marketing. From authority sites, to data feed sites, to arbitrage, to ppc, to damn well near anything. Anyway I could monetize affiliate stuff, I would. I was a lone soul on this journey to make it big. And I was determined too.

But my life took a small turn. I met someone through my AM in Azoogle (this was back in 2004). He was a local dude (and a great friend now) in Jersey and I said hey why not meet up with someone else pushing some volume. He used to make some good money with flowers and tax stuff. I would make some good money with ringtone stuff. Was a good fit to meet each other!

Anyway, so we met up and he kept talking about all these marketers that I had no idea about. These are what I call “Internet Marketers” or “guru’s”. You see them all the time and they are everywhere. They sell products on how to make money online and have long sales pages and use direct response marketing. These products could be training, DVD courses, eBook’s, whatever. I was ALWAYS skeptical of these guys but this friend of mine swore these guys were geniuses, so I decided to get involved. I signed up for like a billion lists and kept following the trail of incestuous JV promotions that these guys would have amongst each other.

However, one thing I stuck to was I never bought any of these products. That would be nothing but information overload. But I kept getting roped in and roped in. The copy they used to write was hypnotizing and the dream of becoming an internet rockstar was appealing to me. I was making good money, so that meant I can make a product about what I do. Then I would get some people to help me promote it and start my “internet marketing” career. It’s just multiple streams of income, so why not?

One thing I noticed along the way is that a lot of internet marketers use deceptive language and tactics to get you to buy stuff. Whether the system, ebook, training, or whatever it is they are selling works or not, they are feeding off YOUR hope. The hope and dream that these poor newbs have of making it online is instantly filled with these internet marketers or “guru” tactics. It was ALWAYS the next big thing to make you millions of dollars.

This REALLY bothered the shit outta me so I wanted to provide some damn value if I was to launch a product. That is when we released TheNewPPC.com 3 years ago. It was a series of free videos that showed market research, keyword research, bidding techniques, setting up campaigns and a bunch of other stuff. This was before of any of the cool tools and software that’s out now. It was a lot of manual stuff you needed to do back in the day so we made videos for it all.

We got an outstanding response from all the people who watched the videos. We were literally one of the first few to cross the “Free Line” and provide VALUE to people. Was that such a crazy concept? I mean everything was headed towards free. Google, YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, etc. So why not get MORE exposure and build a BRAND by giving away FREE content?

Made sense to me. This is where I was thinking of building a brand. I now realize that building a brand via direct response is not a bad method to build a brand, but there are SO many other ways to think bigger. Direct response personal branding was more like a cult than a brand. Infomercials can do it great, but individuals are a bit different. That is more self branding.

I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to be different. I wanted to stand out from the crowd. I wasn’t your regular “guru” off the block selling you some over-hyped ebook or software promising you that you can push a button and make money. In fact I got an email from a “guru” the other day and it literally said “push send and make money” as the subject. I was like WTF? Don’t you REALLY wish it was that easy?

I mean my computer spits out cash everyday. Right from the CD-ROM, doesn’t yours?

(random thought insertion here…)
Don’t get caught up in people’s hype. You know if you can trust someone, right? Are you intuitive? Do you practice being intuitive? You know if you can trust someone within the first 5 minutes of meeting them or listening to them. A ton of internet marketers are fake, just by watching their videos and reading their emails. It’s pretty easy to figure out what their intentions are. If you haven’t mastered this, being intuitive is EXTREMELY important. In your personal life, social life, online, anything really.

That’s why I stick to my “crew”.

Very few are there to HELP you. Most are there to TAKE your money.

(back to story…)

So there I was, making money doing affiliate stuff, but driven by the “rockstar” ego in me to be a popular “guru” and release a product. Unfortunately, it never happened which is for another post (long story). So I just continued to release content and give away stuff. I eventually got around to giving away FREE licenses to HexaTrack. That went viral and I literally never launched it and built a list of 5,000 within a couple months just through word of mouth. We since have closed the doors to the free version of HT because of other ventures.

But I didn’t want to be seen as a “guru”. Because I’m not. I’m not a guru by any means and don’t really want to be one. I just want people to learn and implement. Knowledge is power.

Along my journey I realized I just want to teach people the real deal. Not stuff that worked last year. So I continued to give stuff for free. Tons of material and content that I could have easily sold for thousands of dollars. If I ever get around to it, I’ll make a section on this blog with all the stuff I have. But its easily accessible online now.

My first official “product launch” was Google Goggles last year. Now this tool just kicked ass. It literally examined your landing page as if Google were looking at it from a PPC perspective. I cracked the algorithm pretty good and decided to make a tool out of it. I’m a huge believer in finding gaps in the market and making tools for that gap. This launch was great but again, the headache of dealing with customer service was a bitch. And quality of the users I received from JV’s and partners was okay at best.

I want to cater to mid to high level affiliates looking to change their game. Provide insight to people who want to learn advanced strategies and learn to think outside the box. Now I’m not saying a newb cant learn from this, sure they can, but more qualified users = less customer service = happier customers = higher LTV of a customer.

That’s why our latest “launch” was the seminar we did. It was a $4k price point and we literally said in videos and on the sales page that this was NOT for newbs. However newbs still ended up coming. They learned so much in that seminar, that their heads started spinning. =)

Now I do not want to turn off any newbs by what I say here. I love ya’ll. I was right in your shoes at one point. I know how frustrating it can be. That’s why I have dedicated two members of my staff to literally take what my biz partner and I have taught them and make it into a newbie course. Step by Step. (watch for more details on that…)

After the seminar, I decided I wanted to go big. Even bigger. Not for my personal name, but a bigger brand. We are in the process of building REAL brand-able sites with ridiculous ideas that could spawn multimillion dollar revenue streams. That is what I call brand marketing. Taking an idea and making it huge by branding it to a particular niche or community.

My goal is to bridge the gap between these three as I see that these three marketing angles are starting to converge and become one. Affiliate Marketers are becoming Internet Marketers. Affiliate Marketers are becoming Brand Marketers. Internet Marketers are tapping into Affiliate Marketing now and are tapping into Brand Marketing as well.

But is there a true connection between all three? We’ll find out soon enough.

So it’s about 5:30am EST and I can’t sleep for the life of me. This always happens about a week leading up to a full moon. And whenever I wake up like this I know a full moon is coming within a week. So why does this happen?

Some theories say that since our bodies are 70% water we are somewhat controlled by the moon. The moon does control the tides in the ocean, so why not our bodies?

Some dude from NASA said – “Earth’s magnetotail extends well beyond the orbit of the moon and, once a month [at full moon] the moon orbits through it,” said Tim Stubbs, a University of Maryland scientist working at the Goddard Space Flight Center. “This can have consequences ranging from lunar ‘dust storms’ to electrostatic discharges.”

I’ve also heard that crazier things happen in the news and more crimes are committed during the full moon cycle.

Something even nuttier is that people actually trade stocks according to the cycle of the moon. (and make a killing doing it)

Weird, eh?

Either way, there has never been any “scientific” proof about the lunar cycles and our behavior, but then again, science changes pretty often and new discoveries are made everyday.

Maybe one day we’ll know…

I wonder if this affects affiliate marketing or advertising online in anyway. Increased CTR or buying behavior during full moon phases? Maybe I should overlay my data over the full moon cycle and check it out!

Jonathon Van Clute, a good friend of mine, recently brought to my attention an old post I did on my WAY old site The New PPC. I was like holy sh*t. I did write this three years ago! This site was originally intended to help out newbs with PPC stuff back 3 years ago. I realized I had some pretty crazy posts in there about PPC and the stock market. I used to work with trading desks and trading systems years ago when I worked for da man, so I thought I would post them in this post because I’ll probably take down that old site soon. (I am a data FREAK) And I’ll probably think of a couple more crazy ideas on how to optimize and use great algorithms to make your campaigns more profitable. I’ll post those later. Enjoy!

Article 1

PPC Momentum (Day Trading Technique)

What is PPC Momentum?

When I measure momentum in my campaigns, I am looking at the price differences (bid values) for a set time period to measure the rate of rise or decline. For example, say we are looking at a zero line. It is steady at 0. The correlation of prices rising is that the momentum line is above the zero line and rising. This is a clear statement that the uptrend is increasing. Should the upward trending momentum line begin to flatten out, we know that the new gains of the latest leads/sales/or actions are the same as the gains of 10 days earlier. The prices may still be advancing, but the rate of rise (velocity) has leveled off. When the momentum line begins to drop downward toward the zero line, the uptrend in price is still going, but at a decelerating rate, and the trend is losing momentum.

If the momentum line moves below the zero line, this means the latest 10 day close is now under the close of 10 days ago and a near term downtrend is in effect. Also, the 10 day moving average will have started to decline. The lower the momentum lines goes, the more momentum (velocity) the downtrend gains. The downtrend’s momentum does not begin to decelerate until the momentum line begins to advance upward again.

Remember, momentum measures the differences between prices at two time intervals, so for the line to advance, the price gains of the latest close must be greater that the price gains of 10 days ago. A flat momentum line is created when prices by close by the same amount as 10 days ago. The momentum line declines when the last price gain is less than that of 10 days ago, even though the prices may still be rising. This is how momentum measures acceleration and deceleration in a price trend.

The way the momentum line is constructed causes it to always be one step ahead of the price movement. The line leads the advance or decline in prices, and levels off while the current price is still in effect. As prices begin to level off, the momentum line begins to move in the opposite direction.

You can use this technique to measure your PPC campaigns. In any competitive market you are going to see price shifts, not as often as the stock market, but often enough that you make judgments on your campaigns and adjust them accordingly. If you see an upwards spiral happening, and it hit where you were 10 days ago, you can use that data to lower or higher your bids automatically.

Article 2

We know how the stock market works and how trading systems should operate. The same methdologies can be used to manage your PPC campaigns and increase ROI. Below is some information for you.

1) Expectancy – In simple terms, expectancy is the average amount you can expect to win (or lose) per dollar at risk. Here’s the formula for expectancy:

Expectancy = (Probability of Win * Average Win) – (Probability of Loss * Average Loss)

As an example let’s say that a trader has a system that produces winning trades 30% of the time. That trader’s average winning trade nets 10% while losing trades lose 3%. So if he were trading $10,000 positions his expectancy would be:

    (0.3 * $1,000) – (0.7 * $300) = $90

So even though that system produces losing trades 70% of the time the expectancy is still positive and thus the trader can make money over time. You can also see how you could have a system that produces winning trades the majority of the time but would have a negative expectancy if the average loss was larger than the average win:

    (0.6 * $400) – (0.4 * $650) = -$20

In fact, you could come up with any number of scenarios that would give you a positive, or negative, expectancy. The interesting thing is that most of us would feel better with a system that produced more winning trades than losers. The vast majority of people would have a lot of trouble with the first system above because of our natural tendency to want to be right all of the time. Yet we can see just by those two examples that the percentage of winning trades is not the most important factor in building a system. So imagine each keyword being a stock and each stock has a certain price associated with it. If you payout is going to be $10 you know what you should be bidding and what your return will be. Make sure you always measure your campaigns.

2) Position sizing – A position sizing model simply tells you ‘how much’ or ‘how big’ of a position to take. Position sizing can be the key factor in whether or not you stay in the game or whether your gains are huge or minimal. Dr. Van K. Tharp did an experiment which shows the importance position sizing. In his book “Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom” Van gives the results of his testing of four different position sizing models. He tested the models on the same trading system, so the only variable was the position sizing. The simulations were run with an initial equity of $1,000,000 and took 595 trades over a 5.5 year period. The models produced drastically different results:

    * The worst was the baseline model which just bought 100 shares of stock whenever a signal was given. That model returned $32,567 or 0.58% annualized.
* Fixed-amount model: This method traded 100 shares per $100,000 in equity. It returned $237,457 or 5.75% annualized.
* Equal leverage model: Each position in this model was 3% of the account equity. So at the start of the trial each position was $30,000. This method returned $231,121.
* Percent risk model: According to this model positions were sized such that the initial risk exposure was 1% of the account equity. So with $1,000,000 equity the initial risk would be $10,000. So if the initial stop on a trade was $1 the system would trade 10,000 shares. For an initial stop of 50 cents the system would trade 20,000 shares, etc. This model returned $1,840,493 or 20.92% annualized.
* Percent Volatility model: Positions were sized based on each stock’s volatility. The more volatile the stock the fewer shares are traded. For this trial positions were pegged at 0.5% volatility (initially $5,000 per position) – so if a stock’s average true range was $5 the system would trade 1,000 shares. This model returned $2,109,266 or 22.93% annualized.

You can see how important position sizing is by that simple experiment. Remember that’s the same trading system with the only difference being the size of the positions. Imagine if you used these techniques in your keyword campaigns. Better yet, imagine this being automated for you. Imagine something that would try out different types of campaigns, ad groups, keywords, bid prices, positions and ad text. It would measure everything and automatically adjust it to where your most profitable point is!
