B. Toys are all about creating toys that bring out the individuality of children. Their toys feature innovative, sensible designs that are made to be durable and last while being bright, colorful, and interesting too! Their H2-Whoa! takes a new spin on a traditional doodle board by letting your child play with water! The board comes with 4 pens so multiple children can all play at once and when you inevitably loose one or two, you still have pens left to color with. The board is dual sided with different colors on each side of the board to make the art even more fun. My boys loved playing with their H2-Whoa! They would scribble and draw as fast as they could and then flip over the board and start over. They loved checking to see if they had “beat” the water drying on the other side or if it was already blank and ready for them to color again. They ended up in big fits of laughter when they would draw shapes that would pretty quickly disappear and they’d race to fill up the board with shapes before their first began to dry. I love that the board is reusable and lets all my boys play at once. The pens filled with water last a surprising long time before they need to be refilled which is great, too!

The Stackadoos let my children build and create. They are easy enough to build with that even my 20 month old has no problem handling the waffle style blocks. My boys all loved the pieces that would twist and turn the best. While I love these blocks and my kids have fun playing with them, their attention span towards the Stackadoos is very limited. They seem to run out of creation ideas quickly and move onto something else. That being said, they still have pulled them out nearly daily since they arrived. B. Toys Elemenosqueeze blocks include 26 soft squeezeable blocks with a variety of shapes and sizes. I absolutely love these blocks! They are squishy and soft so when they get thrown (bound to happen with 3 boys) they don’t hurt anyone or anything. They are also great for infants on up, which means you’ll get lots of play from this one cute set. The different architectural shapes make it fun to dream up castles and ruins with the blocks. I also absolutely adore the animals and letters printed across the sides of the blocks. Each block represents a letter of the alphabet and an animal to correspond with the letter. That makes these educational and double for some character acting with the animals! My boys have had fun playing with the blocks, but they are another toy that seems to have a pretty short play time in a single sitting.

I wasn’t sure my son would be into this, since it’s not geared towards as young of an audience.  It is great for kids ages 2-5, and my little guy is 1.  However, he was very interested in it!  He doesn’t watch TV for long periods of time, but he was riveted.  And even better, it’s a show I actually don’t mind watching with him!  It’s very cute.  And I love that Bob the Builder teaches little lessons.  Bob the Builder: Adventures by the Sea is perfect to start out the summer with, with it’s cute sea, beach, sun, and sand themes!

With different pairs perfectly sized by age, I was able to get a great fitting pair for each of my three little boys. We tried out the Bowl, Booba, and Looping style of glasses. My boys have loved their new glasses especially with the approach of summer and all the extra sunny days lately. Usually I’ll hear complaints of sun in their eyes but we have been grabbing their glasses when we head out the door and now their eyes are being protected from the harmful rays and I hear no more complaints or see squinting faces staring back at me! Each of the pairs we received are such a perfect fit for my boys that they don’t fall off their face and fit comfortably on their nose and ears. The Looping style for babies comes with a detachable cord to help keep the glasses on your youngster. My 20 month old though loved the game of taking them off and on over and over again. I also really love that the infant styles can be worn either direction so its easier for the little ones to put them on without any worry of them being upside down. All of our pairs are very durable and I haven’t noticed any wear at all yet. Glasses we’ve owned in the past have quickly broken the handles or lenses breaking off, which hasn’t even come close to being the case with these glasses from Julbo.

I had been looking for some trainers to use with my 20 month old who has been very interested in the potty and in the early stages ready to start potty training. I wanted something that would be a bit easier for him to be able to pull off himself and that would also let him feel that he was wet. The GroVia My Choice Trainers are really cute and really easy to use. They have a built-in hemp/cotton soaker that easily holds one missed potty trip. The snap rise makes these fit great on my 20 month old.

My youngest was already interested in potty training before the trainers arrived and we had set him on the toilet a few times to get him comfortable with the potty. We had yet to start full time training, though, and it was fun to start when the trainers arrived. The My Choice Trainers were harder for him to pull off and down then just plain underwear, but he still could do it himself. When we didn’t make it to the potty in time, they were great at making him a bit uncomfortable and he would come to tell me “potty!” so I could change him and take him to the bathroom. We’ve made great progress potty training and have now been using the My Choice Trainers mainly for naps to keep the bed dry. They don’t have enough absorption for overnight use with a child that might still have more than one potty through the night without adding extra absorption, though. This isn’t a problem since you can stuff in extra inserts if you’re looking to use these trainers for night time use. I used them overnight with my 3.5 year old who was still relying on pull-ups with nearly nightly accidents. They work great on him overnight without adding extra inserts as he doesn’t have more than one overnight potty. They have definitely helped my 3.5 year old recognize his nighttime potties and he has been waking up dry almost every morning since!

I will confess, I am horrible about taking PreNatal vitamins. He loves them too and was just as surprised as I was by how good they are. The Calcium vitamins and the PreNatal vitamins both have a very different gummy texture to them. The Calcium ones are much “thicker” or “solid” tasting while the PreNatals are extremely soft and squishy. It was interesting to me how different they would look and feel, but it’s perfect for being able to tell them apart easily. I absolutely recommend the Vitafusion PreNatal Gummy Vitamins and they are all I will take for this and future pregnancies! There is no way I’m going back to a pill I have to force myself to try to take daily and feel miserable about!

MEGA Brands is a parent company of Mega Bloks, RoseArt, Mega Puzzles, and The Board Dudes. Their product lines include fun games, toys, puzzles, and more great for families and kids. We were able to receive a few fun puzzles and games from their line of products to review. My 5 year old really enjoys doing puzzles but we had yet to try a bit harder puzzles then the typical 48 piece puzzles he’s able to do on his own. He loves Sponge Bob, though, so I knew he’d really enjoy a 3D puzzle we could work on together. The two of us started the puzzle together getting the outline of the puzzle and 3D part assembled. Then, my 5 year old took over and was able to complete the rest of the flat part of the puzzle all by himself. As most of the puzzle had skinny narrow sections left without a bunch of “inside” pieces that wouldn’t fit right away, he was able to assemble the puzzle pretty easily on his own and didn’t need any help. When he finished the flat part of the puzzle we started working on the 3D section together. It was kind of difficult to put the 3D part together. You’re supposed to glue the puzzle together and let it dry so you’re left with one solid connected piece. I wanted to be able to enjoy the puzzle again, though, so we opted to skip this step. I ended up taking off the pieces that align to the 3D Sponge Bob and clipping them on to him before placing Sponge Bob back into the puzzle. This worked pretty well, but it was still a tricky job getting the pieces all aligned and then back into the puzzle. Once we were done, though, we both thought the puzzle was really cool and my 5 and 3 year old boys absolutely loved how Sponge Bob popped up off the puzzle at them! The 3D Breakthrough puzzles really are very neat and unique, though keep in mind the steps will indicate for you to glue the puzzle together.

When played Bingo Builders when my niece came over and the kids loved the game! It’s simple enough that my 3.5 year old could play but still complex enough for the 5 year olds to enjoy also. Each round when you complete a bingo you get to add one piece to your monster and the first to complete their four piece monster is the winner! It becomes a really long game with 3 players, but they still had a great time. I think we played 7 total rounds before one player won. The game does have a second side which is more difficult, but the directions and rules just seemed really confusing as the match game turns into matching one of the 4 pieces of blocks, which look very similar to each other. We stuck with the shape matching side which was a big hit.

Hershey’s is looking for inspiration on ways to Ignite Summer Memories! I’m thrilled to get to participate as a virtual camp counselor for “Hershey’s Camp Bondfire” later this summer. We were able to have a get together with some friends to recreate one of my favorite and easiest ways to ignite summer memories: we created a barbecue and rounded off the meal with S’mores!

I had hoped to try cooking S’mores on the grill since I have never had the cooked on the grill before, but our propane tank was running low so we decided to cook them in the oven instead. Our friend brought over some massive marshmallows which made it really fun for the kids. The S’mores turned out delicious and we were all licking our fingers and very content with the yummy treat after dinner. In fact, I’ve made them several more times since our backyard party in the microwave because it really brought back how fun and delicious S’mores are! I’ve started adding two marshmallows to my creations, though, which makes it extra gooey and really balances great with the amount of graham crackers.

After dessert, we played Mario Party together and I think everyone’s favorite memory was one particular mini-game that came up where we each had to choose “0 or 1″. Then, all the numbers were added and the platform would spin leaving one player to get squished with the other three could jump up on top of the platform and do a ground pound to score points. By chance, my character continually ended up under the platform and each time my 5 year old would tease me and laugh and do a little party dance he thought it was so funny! It happened to work out that way all because I’d helped our friend who had started in the bad spot at the beginning of the game to select ’0′ so it wouldn’t land on her again, which left me in the hot seat! My character continued with bad luck throughout the game which became a running joke which I think will come up again in future games!

5 Ways to Ignite Summer Memories!

• Road Trip- Family vacations always inspire memories but some of my most favorite memories came from the road trips spent getting to and from our destination. So many inside family jokes were born and favorite stories to later recite were created while on the road!

  

• Camping- To me, summer isn’t complete without a camping trip which must include Hershey’s S’mores cooked over a nice warm fire! I treasure the memories I have camping growing up and feel this is a prime way to create family memories! My kids already know camping and S’mores go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly and are sure to not let us forget the simple ingredients when we’re packing up our camping supplies.

  

• Drive-In Movies – While the movie and sound quality may not be the best, there is nothing like piling into your car or truck and heading to the Drive-In theater! We will usually bring an air mattress and lower the seats in our van and all pile in the back to enjoy the show. This is such a fun way to spend time together with friends or family and create some great memories! Plus, the teenagers will love this suggestion as a way to ignite a summer romance!

• Hiking- My husband loves to hike, which means the rest of us get dragged along. Once we get outdoors and on the trail, we always have a fabulous time and really enjoy the scenery and each other’s company. The best part is hiking is completely free and keeps you in shape too!

• Barbecues - It seems like a summer wouldn’t be complete without a gathering together good food, friends, and fun. Cooking on the grill is a great way to keep the cooking heat outside and have an excuse to spend an evening outdoors. You can add S’mores to you menu for your dessert to keep all meal prep to the grill and bring in the fun of camping.

How to Create S’mores at Home!

Roasting your marshmallows over the fire is the traditional way we all think of making and enjoying S’mores, but did you know you can easily create S’mores in your own home any time of the year? Here’s how:

• Grill – Preheat your grill to medium-heat. Assemble your S’mores and place inside an aluminum pie dish or on top of a sheet of aluminum foil and then place on the grill. Grill 4 to 5 minutes or until the marshmallow is melted.

• Oven or Toaster Oven – Assemble your S’mores without the top graham cracker. Bake at 350° for 4-6 minutes or until your marshmallows are puffed and the chocolate begins to melt. Cover with the remaining 1/2 Graham Cracker to complete your sandwich.

• Microwave – Layer your bottom graham cracker and chocolate. Cook in your microwave on high heat for 15-20 seconds until the chocolate is just barely starting to melt. Add your marshmallow and cook another 8-10 seconds until the marshmallow puffs and grows. Top with the second half of your graham cracker. Let cool a bit before eating.

For a perfect S’mores treat, try this simple recipe, layered in order: 1/2 a graham cracker, 1/4 of a HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Bar, one to two large marshmallow, and top with the remaining half of your graham cracker!

Laffy Daffy reached out to me to see if I would be interested in reviewing a step stool. I was so extremely excited to get to work with them as I had yet to find a stool that I really loved! I browsed through all their products and found a bunch of cute ideas that really inspired me with a few ideas of my own that I thought would work perfectly for our family and in our bathroom where the stool would be used. I expressed my ideas to Laffy Daffy with a few basic plans I had in mind. The main idea I had expressed was to have 4 footprints in varying sizes (each getting slightly larger) to represent our 3 boys and 4th child on the way. I didn’t want to have any particular name on the stool since we haven’t named our last baby yet and didn’t want it to be excluding towards the possibility of additional children later either (though I’m pretty sure this will be our last). I mentioned our bathroom was beached themed and thought that could tie in nicely with the footprints. I received back sample proofs of what my personalized stool could look like and was really impressed with the proofs being able to put in image form what I was picturing in my head. One was a clear favorite out of the few designs as I loved everything about the look! I accepted the proof for the design you see above and was blown away when my stool arrived, I absolutely love the way the design and colors turned out!

Not only do I love the gorgeous personalization to our stool, but this is such a high quality fabulous stool that I really couldn’t be happier! With the two steps my 20 month old can completely reach the sink by himself and can wash his hands, brush his teeth, and check himself out in the mirror without me having to hold him up or needing to step up onto his tiptoes to reach! Of course he still needs help turning on the water and brushing his teeth as he can’t do those things on his own but it gives him a sense of independence and takes a ton of strain off of me! My 3.5 and 5.5 year old boys use and love the Laffy Daffy step stool too. My 5 year old can reach the sink okay without any stool, but the extra boost means he can reach his toothpaste and toothbrush that I keep up in the medicine cabinet. Now, he’ll take care of brushing his teeth all by himself, from start to finish! My 5 year old has even pulled it out to use as a mini table top to play at. I also love that while it may not be intended for more than one child to use at a time, there is tons of room on the stool so two of my boys will often share the step stool and reach for the sink at the same time. We have never had the stool even wobbly at all and I know it will stand up to years and years of use!
