My boys have had a blast playing on the spinning seesaw. We started it indoors as I was worried about them falling onto our concrete patio while learning how to get on and off and use the seesaw. Since then, though, we’ve had it on our patio and they have done just fine with it there. They are a pretty good match in size to play on the seesaw together, my 3.5 and 5.5 year old boys, and even my 20 month old will play on it when we’re watching him. He loves it too, but is too young to stay on without having to worry about him falling. My boys really love that it spins around in a full circle! The tripod isn’t extremely sturdy on its own and would be best to be staked to the ground. Stakes are included with the seesaw but we don’t have any grass as it is difficult to keep it green and soft here in Arizona. While the seats would probably fit an older child, maybe even up to the 8 year old range on this seesaw, it’s not big enough to give a larger child much of a push up off the ground. I think it’s perfect for my 3.5 and 5.5 year old boys with their current sizes.

The fun found in the magical world of Disneyland is continued in a completely different way at Disney California Adventure Park. There, you’ll find more of a carnival feel throughout the rides with Carousel’s, Bumper Cars, and even an enormous Ferris Wheel! But that’s not all there is to enjoy, Disney California Adventure Park also has some amazing attractions unlike what you’ll find at other amusement parks! Like the attractions Soarin’ Over California, Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail full of obstacles, and of course a super fast and long roller coaster California Screamin’ to complete the park.

My boys enjoyed going on all the carnival favorites that quickly grabbed their attention and became “must” do attractions! We spent a while dedicated to “a bug’s land” and all the kid friendly rides we could find there. I also took them to the “It’s Tough to Be a Bug!” funny and entertaining 3D show that sprays water at you as if it was bug spray and even seats that bump at you as the “bugs” leave the logs you are seated on at the end of the show. It’s a fun and clever show, though it can be a little bit scary for the little ones as it is dark and unexpected elements throughout. A favorite ride for the kids was The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure which takes you “under the sea” to explore her world. It’s a cute ride with a very quick line since you load onto the ride on a belt that continues to move.

All of us adults and my five year old enjoyed going on the Grizzly River Run and loved that the FASTPASS got us through the line in less than 15 minutes! Another favorite was Soarin’ Over California which takes you soaring on a simulated hang glider to see some of the great sites throughout the State of California. The best part of our whole day, though, was enjoying Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular bring a favorite Disney animated film to life! The genie was hilarious, the music was great, and the show as engaging enough that even the little ones loved it! It was my first time to see the show and in my opinion it is the “can’t miss” attraction when visiting Disney California Adventure Park!

On June 15th, Disney California Adventure Park will be having its grand reopening! The park will be expanded with great new adventures and keeping in the favorites you’ve come to love. The new and improved park will include two new lands: Cars Land featuring Radiator Springs Racers, and Buena Vista Street with a brand new entrance way with modern gates and a 1920s interpretation of Los Angeles. Disney California Adventure Park will be closed on June 14th.

Last summer, we turned our garage into an insulated playroom so give us the extra space we needed and to give a home to all the toys that go along with three kids. My kids love to go out to the garage and play. But, they spent a lot of time going in and out because they needed a drink! I thought it would be absolutely perfect to have a water dispenser out in the garage so they could grab a cup and then get refills out there without having to track their toys along with them into the house to get a drink. They always ended up putting the toys down somewhere and forgetting along the way leaving a trail of toys from our garage down the hallway and to the kitchen. It is very convenient to have clean filtered water right within their reach while they play. The water dispenser is easy enough that my boys are able to use it while still being safe. The switches at the back of the water dispenser allow you to turn off hot water so that concern is never there. Even if you leave the hot water on, there is a slide and push button used to dispense hot water, which makes it much harder for little hands to figure out. It is extremely simple to replace the water jugs and the water dispenser looks very nice in our home.

Dora is now all grown up and heading to her very first concert in Dora’s Explorer Girls: Our First Concert! Dora, along with her friends the Explorer Girls, head out on a musical adventure to collect their concert tickets so they can make it to see their favorite star live in concert! My kids enjoyed watching Dora in her new role and along with the Explorer Girls. They really enjoyed the music which was easy for them to follow along with the melody and words by the second time watching the show. Dora seemed pretty similar to me as she still incorporates her “puzzles” into the show like the tickets had a first initial on the back so they could match the tickets to the right Explorer Girl and a Stop/Go game with the red lights and green lights as they were riding on their bikes. The show did seem to incorporate a lot more Spanish which would be a good transition for those who picked up some Spanish along the way with the younger Dora but not excluding to those who may not have as it is often repeated in English as well. Those who have loved watching the younger Dora will love growing up with her as they move from the toddler and preschooler stage and are ready for school-aged adventures! My kids are interested in to see what future adventures Dora and the Explorer Girls will go on!

Join her in her new town, Puerto Verde, with her family and new friends, Emma, Kate, Naiya, and Alana – the Explorer Girls! I love Disneyland! It is so full of fun rides, things to see, awesome shops, packed with great food, and a perfect place to spend time together as a family! What better way to express all the fun we had then with loads of pictures!?

The Rides & Attractions

I’ve been to Disneyland many times during my life but this was only our second trip as a family, and my youngest son’s first time at the park. My 5 and 3 year old boys were at the perfect age to take them along with us to Disneyland! My 5 year old even got to ride on several of the “big” rides including Splash Mountain and Star Tours, which was really fun for him! We all loved getting to go on some of our favorites that every one could go on like Peter Pan and Pirates of the Caribbean! This time, I got to go on a few rides I have never been on, which is crazy to think I had missed out on such great rides in the past! The first of these was Haunted Mansion. I wasn’t sure if my little boys would be scared but they seemed to be a little young to get why some of the elements might be scary. The best part was the end of the ride when a “ghost” appeared right on top of my husband’s seat, sitting on him! My five year old couldn’t get enough of that! The second ride I got to enjoy for the first time was the Submarine ride. This ride was so awesome taking you along the journey with the Finding Nemo friends and getting to see turtles, sharks, and really feel like you were going deeper and deeper under the ocean! Of course, we had to catch the fireworks as well, which is always fun for the kids!

The Characters!

We didn’t take too much time out to try to catch all the Disney characters, but we did stop to see a few in Mickey’s Toontown. My kids love to watch Mickey’s Clubhouse show so they know all the Mickey and friend characters and were thrilled to see some of them! My three year old didn’t act shy at all and gave pluto a hug, kiss, and even a high five! My 20 month old absolutely loved checking out Mickey’s house that had everything just about his size. My five year old thought the magic mirror was neat, too! I love the excitement you get to see in little kids eyes when their favorite characters come to life!

We had such a packed and fun filled day that it’s hard to express all the things we were able to do and see in just a single day. We arrived at the park as soon as it opened and even took a few hours break in the middle of the day for naps. This let us come back recharged and ready for more fun so we had NO crying kids by the end of the day. We got to stay out late for the kids and it made for a wonderful, full day! The first picture above show the pure excitement of arriving at the park. Next, my three year old is squinting as he looks up with the sun in his eyes trying to figure out the explosion sounds set off by the dynamite pump in Toontown! They loved this and we had to set off the explosion several times before we could move on. Next pictures shows my husband and five year old on the Train around Disneyland which all three boys loved! Finally, tickles and huge smiles from my oldest who we usually can’t get a single smiling picture from! We ended the day at the Tiki hut to be sure to get a Dole Whip ice cream cone before we headed home, exhausted and happy!

If you looking for the perfect destination for a family vacation with little ones, Disneyland should be at the top of your list! Buying a several day park pass will save you a ton, making the tickets much more affordable. Now through the end of the year you can get a 6-day 1-park per day admission ticket to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park for $236 per adult.
