The latest producer to emerge from the music/art melting pot that is New Cross/Goldsmiths, WARSNARE has carved out his unique sound from the remains of pop culture. Having produced soundtracks for award-winning short films and AV installations, his sound is impossible to pin down, blurring the cinematic and the downright woozy with shards of disembodied R&B, footwork and whatever else takes his fancy at the time.

WARSNARE’s debut EP will be released on 'Shades of Grey' on 20/02/2012. He has remixed tracks for ‘My Tiger My Timing’, Kate Tempest’s ‘Sound Of Rum’ and Breton and is currently producing for singer/song writer ‘Fille De La Lune’ on her debut EP. The one consistent theme throughout WARSNARE’s many endeavours is that it is almost impossible to work out what he will do next.

The Milan-based producer Marco Acquaviva starts his sonic adventure during the ‘90s by playing acid guitars in local hardcore-punk and noise bands. Spending most of his teenage days between street music and skating, he studies cinema and develops interests in audiovisual arts, from photography to sound design. In 1995 he discovers the pleasure of a 303 synth entering the experimental drifts of electronic music pushed by the insterest in the Illbient movement and its eclettic mixture of black, industrial, and ambient music with punk attitude.

Danny Corn, Portland, OR For over 17 years, Danny Corn has been on the vanguard of electronic music, leaving the trends to other people. As a DJ, he is known as an instrumental player in the formation of the "west coast" sound and over the years has traveled extensively and played with just about everybody who has made moves in the scene. A champion of syncopated, bass heavy music, Danny Corn rides the edge of experimental sounds, whilst staying firmly committed to the dancefloor. A recent move to Portland, OR has found Danny Corn taking time to channel all of his experience into music production. His current sets are a eclectic mix of originals, exclusives and personal favorites. With releases scheduled for the end of 2011, for Danny Corn the best is still to come.

This mix explores the idea of slow/fast which I've been fascinated by in the last year. It was originally put together and recorded - with a slightly different tracklist - for the Tempo Clash party I played at in September but then a lot of the tunes weren't out yet so I held onto it and thought it'd be the perfect mix for ASG and Jay, seeing as how he's always pushing that new shit. I guess the idea for slow/fast came up with the explosion of interest around juke/footwork, the return of jungle in many people's sets/interest (thanks to juke/footwork partly) and a lot of the new music coming out which floats between 75 and 85 bpm and works at double or half time. All of a sudden it's never been easier to do mixes that fluctuate in speed, from hyperactive to low-slung, and once you throw in a lot of the beat stuff from the last few years you've got something really interesting I think. So this mix is an exploration of that within a club context but it also works nicely in the headphones, llow the laptop speakers though you need some bass. If you enjoy what you hear check out the artists featured, most of them are doing truly interesting stuff today that's deserving of your attention. Much love.
