Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a rare radical Democrat elected in deep red Texas, took to her podcast after Tuesday’s verdict to make false claims about the trial and its jury as she continues to stir up racial hatred.

“I’m not necessarily convinced — not that I could tell you the name of one person on this jury — that we had 12 impartial White folk out of Collin County sitting on a jury for this young black man,” she said, exhibiting her empathy for the convicted murderer.

Of the 12 jurors, three were racial minorities, including Asian and Indian, eight were women and four were men. They confirmed that of the 18 total jurors, including alternates, six were minorities.

Crockett surmised the jury likely convicted Anthony because residents of Collin County are upset that, “so many black folk are moving up there in the first place.”

The congresswoman, who will not retain her seat in the House after redistricting in Texas pushed her district red, bizarrely compared black women in America to the victim’s family.

“Black women, especially black women who have black male children, live in fear and agony every single day,” she lamented. “A fear and agony that I promise you the Metcalfs probably had never spend a day living that way.”

That comment was branded as “psychotic” by White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller on X.

A Johnson County grand jury indicted Melanie Lynn Estes, Andrew Tyler Smith and Steven Thomas Reyna in March but the indictment was only recently unsealed. They’re charged with one count each of engaging in organized criminal activity and hindering the prosecution of terrorism.

The indictments accuse the three of participating in a criminal conspiracy that helped Antifa member Benjamin Song avoid arrest after he allegedly shot Alvarado Police Lt. Thomas Gross outside the Prairieland Detention Center on July 4, 2025.

Prosecutors allege Estes, Reyna and Smith worked alongside previously charged and now-convicted defendants Lynette Sharp and Susan Kent to transport, harbor or conceal Song and provide him with the means of avoiding arrest after the shooting.

The new indictments stem from what federal prosecutors have described as an organized Antifa attack on the Prairieland ICE detention facility in Alvarado by a North Texas Antifa cell.

In March, a federal jury in Fort Worth convicted Song and eight other members in the first federal Antifa terrorism trial in U.S. history. Jurors found the defendants guilty on charges including providing material support to terrorists, rioting, conspiracy involving explosives and related crimes. Song, whom prosecutors identified as the ringleader, was separately convicted of attempted murder for shooting Gross in the neck during the attack.

Seven other co-defendants pleaded guilty before trial. Five of them flipped and testified against their nine comrades.

Trial testimony showed members of the group arrived at the detention center dressed in black bloc clothing and carrying firearms, body armor, medical supplies and explosive devices. Prosecutors said the group used large fireworks to lure officers from the facility before the shooting began.

Hadi Alodid was given permission to stay here after completing a 10-page Home Office questionnaire rather than undergoing the standard – and far more rigorous – face-to-face interview process.

It prompted new calls to re-think the ‘streamlined’ programme set up when Rishi Sunak was prime minister as part of his pledge to clear a backlog of 92,000 asylum cases.

Then home secretary Suella Braverman and immigration minister Robert Jenrick – who have both since defected to Reform – oversaw the introduction of the scheme.

It was privately described within the Home Office as the ‘grant factory’, in reference to the huge numbers of asylum seekers granted refugee status.

Asylum seekers from countries like Sudan were allowed to access the streamlined system – reducing the backlog – because the vast majority of their claims were eventually granted in any case due to conflict in their home nations.

Four months later, in June 2023, it was extended to Sudanese nationals and Alodid was granted a five-year refugee visa in September that year.

His case was dealt with under the fast-track scheme, it is understood.

Known as the ‘Streamlined Asylum Process’, or SAP, it was also open to Eritreans, Syrians, Afghans, Libyans and Yemenis.

A Daily Mail analysis of latest Home Office data shows the number of asylum claims from Sudanese nationals has soared from 2,853 in 2022 to 5,112 last year.

In the year to March, 95 per cent of Sudanese asylum claims where the Home Office made an initial decision – more than 5,503 main applicants – were granted.

Meanwhile, the number of Sudanese coming here by small boat and then claim asylum has nearly tripled from 1,525 in 2022 to 4,537 last year – as migrants know that under the SAP scheme they are almost certain to be handed refugee status.

He added: ‘At the moment there are people who happen to be black and brown but are as British as you or me who probably feel they can’t go about their business. That is destabilising to the nation.’

The new law will make anyone with residency in Sweden on the basis of asylum, subsidiary protection, “exceptionally distressing circumstances” or Long Term Residence (LTR) ineligible for permanent residency.

Instead, they will receive LTR permits which need to be renewed every five years.

Permanent residency will be reserved for former work permit holders, those with permits to run their own business, those with permits because they are self-sufficient, and those with permits on the basis of doctoral studies or research.

The bill will also do other things aimed at tightening Sweden’s asylum rules to the “EU’s legal minimum level”, including lowering the age limit for taking fingerprints and photographs to six years old and limiting asylum seekers’ right to a lawyer.

The government opted not to act on consultation responses which warned that by including holders of LTR in the list of those ineligible for permanent residence the government was also barring many foreigners who do not have an asylum background.

Parliament approved the bill in the afternoon of June 9th.

The new rules are set to come into force on July 12th.

A new legal opinion by the Office of Legal Counsel claimed that “disparate impact” — a legal theory of discrimination that holds employers liable for discrimination for policies that disproportionately harm protected groups based on race, ethnicity or gender — is unconstitutional.

Although the opinion does not hold the same legal weight as a court ruling, it will likely make it more challenging for employees who file employment discrimination claims with the EEOC to prevail.

The Justice Department said that going forward, employers can use tools such as aptitude tests, criminal background checks and other metrics without fear that they could face discrimination claims based solely on the impact those tools may have on different demographic groups.

In a statement from the EEOC provided to the press by the DOJ, EEOC Chair Andrea Lucas lauded the finding, saying: “We believe this opinion will provide clarity regarding the Constitutional limits of disparate impact in employment discrimination matters.”

In December, the Justice Department published a final rule effectively ending disparate impact liability under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color and national origin in any program or activity that receives federal financial assistance.

In a statement at the time the rule was issued, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, who leads the Civil Rights Division, claimed that the legal theory was paving the way for people to file lawsuits challenging “neutral policies” without providing any evidence of intentional discrimination.

The House narrowly voted on Tuesday to direct roughly $70 billion to the Department of Homeland Security for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, the second multi-billion dollar infusion of money to the agencies in the last year muscled through by Republicans alone.

The measure passed by a vote of 214 to 212.

The vote marks the end of a 115-day standoff over immigration policy. After federal officers shot and killed two protesters in Minneapolis earlier this year, Democrats refused to back more funding for ICE and Border Patrol, with the goal of forcing changes to immigration enforcement tactics.

But as negotiations fell apart, Republicans moved to circumvent Democrats using a special procedure known as reconciliation to fund the agencies without acquiescing to any of the reforms they were demanding.

Through this legislation, Congress is giving ICE more than three times its last annual budget. Though technically this funding is meant to cover three years, unlike a traditional annual funding bill, the money comes with few stipulations on how and when it should be spent.

While most annual spending measures provide funds for just that fiscal year, this measure includes lump sums that need to be spent only by the end of fiscal year 2029, including:

• $38 billion for ICE to hire, pay, train and equip its officers and agents. That includes $7 billion for Homeland Security Investigations and $31 billion for immigration enforcement work like hiring more attorneys, supporting local law enforcement who coordinate with ICE and technology like body cameras;
• $22 billion for Border Patrol to pay, train, recruit and equip agents and personnel. That includes$13 billion specifically for immigration enforcement work;
• $5 billion for border security technology and screening, including artificial intelligence;
• $350 million for enforcement in localities that do not coordinate directly with ICE.

The Lexington-Richland 5 school board voted on a formal challenge brought by a parent over a high school English lesson based on a book by author Zora Neale Hurston. The complaint said the lesson included the use of racial slurs and stereotypes that had left students disturbed.

After hearing from critics of the plan and supporters of academic freedom, the board voted 4-2 to restrict use of material on Hurston’s “Harlem Slanguage” to approved uses by instructional staff only.

The complaint came about after a Dutch Fork High School lesson on Hurston’s 1928 essay “How It Feels To Be Colored Me,” an examination of the author’s experience moving between Black and white spaces in segregated Florida and its impact on her understanding of her racial identity.

While Hurston’s work is an approved classroom resource, a subsequent letter from the district acknowledged in an in-class worksheet also included “Harlem Slanguage” terms from Hurston’s glossary of African-American slang of the period.

That material did not go through the district’s approval process, the district later said, and led a parent to file a complaint over its use of “racial slurs, offensive stereotypes, and degrading classifications of African Americans,” including derogatory references to African Americans’ color, appearance and behavior, according to the complaint.

Artan, the 2025 Confederation of African Football (Caf) men’s referee of the year, was barred from entering the country at Miami International Airport and is currently in Turkey.

No reason for Artan’s repatriation has been issued by US immigration authorities, but Somalia is one of several countries on a travel ban list introduced by President Donald Trump’s administration.

After speaking to the US authorities, world governing body Fifa said Artan will miss the tournament.

A senior adviser to Somalia’s ministry of youth and sports confirmed the denial of entry to the BBC and said Artan had been travelling with valid documents.

A Somali embassy official in Nairobi told the BBC that Artan’s diplomatic passport had been issued specifically to ease his travel after earlier visa difficulties.

Speaking in a statement to Reuters, Artan said that despite the circumstances he was in a positive mood and focused on the next challenge.

A resident speaking on camera near the scene has provided the clearest public account yet of the barbaric knife attack that left a local man fighting for his life. The woman, filmed in the Rathcoole area, describes the victim as someone she had known for years.

She claims that the man is special needs, hard of hearing, and already struggled with daily life. She then relates how two migrants had only moved into nearby accommodation four days earlier. The man, known locally as kind and helpful, offered assistance as they settled in. The witness claims that the pair then later jumped him, and that one of them is still on the loose.

She details how the assault left the victim with catastrophic injuries. His nose was cut, his eyes were gouged or severely damaged to the point of blindness in at least one eye, and he now faces an uncertain future after intensive care.

Court proceedings later confirmed the victim, named as Stephen Ogilvie in his 40s, lost his left eye, suffered severe damage to his right eye, deep cuts to his face, and lacerations to his back after repeated stabbings by the Sudanese asylum seeker.

Footage of the incident showed the attacker attempting to literally saw off the victim’s head during the street assault.

Last Wednesday, the French police broke up a talk I was about to give. I had just been introduced, when two officers marched in and said this meeting was over. An officer asked for ID and I signed a copy of the decree banning the meeting.

I waved him goodbye, and no one was arrested. This crude censorship was especially surprising because the day before, I spent three hours at an identitarian bookstore, signing copies of the French translation of If We Do Nothing.

I don’t know of a single American bookstore that stocks my books, but in Paris, I found two. And I don’t think you could publicly advertise a Jared Taylor book-signing in an American city and have no trouble at all.

That made what the police did so surprising.

The official decree breaking up the meeting runs to three pages, and reads like something out of 1984.

What it boils down to is that the police have the right to muzzle anyone who might — just might — provoke an “immaterial disturbance” of the public order.

“Material” disturbances are riots, violence, arson. Thanks to its glorious diversity, France gets plenty of those.

“Immaterial” disturbances are words that, to quote from the decree, “undermine national cohesion” or violate “the republican tradition.” No act necessary. And in my case, no words necessary because the authorities had already decided that if I opened my mouth, there was “a serious risk that racist remarks” would be made. They stepped in because of “the sufficiently certain and imminent nature of the commission of such offences as well as the nature and seriousness of the disturbances to public order that could result from them.”

Why did the police think I would say something illegal? Someone had looked me up. I have talked about “the differences by nature between ethnic groups.” In 1999, I published a report called the The Color of Crime, in which I am said to have claimed that “90% of inter-racial offenses . . . are committed by black people against white people.”

I actually wrote that of the “interracial crimes of violence involving blacks and whites, 90 percent are committed by blacks against whites.” The French didn’t consider whether that was true — FBI stats confirm it. Just saying it appears to be a crime.

I am also an “adherent of the theories of the ideologue Renaud Camus, promoter of the idea of the ‘Great Replacement’.”

I guess that’s another crime. And I am guilty of having posted on X that “there are average race differences in intelligence. Most people are too cowardly to say so in public.”

I’m guessing what most upset the French was a comment I made about a video of blacks stealing shrink-wrapped tray packs of bottled water that were set out for runners in the London marathon. The video is now disabled, but I suggested a word for this kind of behavior: “NEGRITUDE: degeneracy almost impossible to imagine in others.”

“Negritude” is a real French word. In the 1930s and ’40s, French-speaking Africans tried to take a mildly pejorative word, nègre, and make it positive, the way homosexuals turned “queer” into a badge of honor.

In 1962, the Nigerian playwright Wole Soyinka mocked “negritude.” “A tiger doesn’t proclaim his ‘tigritude.’ He pounces.”

Anyway, given my record of what the decree called “excesses and provocations” on X, I had to be gagged so I wouldn’t “undermine national cohesion,” violate “the republican tradition,” and provoke “immaterial” disturbances of the public order. The decree cited no fewer than eight specific French laws to justify muzzling me – all the way back to The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen issued during the French Revolution.

The decree conceded that freedom of speech is very nice, but mine had to be violated for “the preservation of an objective system of values that cements social harmony.”

It would have been fun to invite the police officer to take a seat, and step in only if I were guilty of an excess or a provocation, but the republic was taking no chances. The French magazine Elements has since published my speech, and the editors have not been charged with disturbing the public order.

The whole thing has been a pathetic admission of government weakness. If the République were sure of its convictions, it would welcome debate. Clearly, it’s afraid of words, and silence them in the name of “public order,” “national cohesion” and “the republican tradition.” Tyrants always clothe tyranny in high-sounding words.

But how did the police know about the meeting? The group that invited me, Les Natifs, or “The Natives,” circulated a social-media ad, announcing that the Paris location would be revealed just before the 8:00 p.m. meeting.

However, in the afternoon, even before the location was announced, the police tracked down the leader of the Les Natifs in a Paris café and served him with a decree, forbidding the meeting in Paris. He quickly found another room in Versailles, in the neighboring department of Yvelines. The Yvelines police then found us and told us the meeting was forbidden in that department.

The next day, I had lunch with the head of Les Natifs and asked if there could have been a leak about the locations. He said no. His organization demonstrates against such things as anti-white crime—here is one in Paris in 2023—and the media call Les Natifs not just “extreme right” but “ultra-right.”

He said that he and some of the other Natifs are “known to the police,” and are probably tracked by cell phone. He thought that was how police found him in the Paris café and learned so quickly about the new location in Versailles. He just hadn’t expected the police to care enough to squelch a peaceful meeting.

I’m used to yahoos trying to shut me up. But this was the first time a man with a badge and a gun did it. In the US, I don’t think the cops are tracking our every move. Not yet, anyway. Orthodoxies lash out viciously as they die, and the orthodoxy of dispossession is dying. Every brutish act by a government makes it look more desperate, more afraid. I’m embarrassed for France, a country I like very much, but I see this as one more step on the road to victory.

The jury in Collin County, Texas, deliberated for about three hours earlier Monday afternoon before finding Anthony, 19, guilty of first-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Metcalf. The panel then spent nearly another three hours deciding his lengthy sentence.

During the sentencing phase, the jury weighed the potential extenuating circumstances of “sudden passion” — crimes committed in the heat of the moment that, in Texas, can mean lighter sentences.

The jury wasn’t swayed by Anthony’s lawyers‘ “sudden passion” claim and sentenced him to 35 years. He faced a maximum of 99 years or life.

The “sudden passion” extenuation would’ve downgraded his verdict from first-degree to second-degree murder and shrunk his steep punishment to a maximum of 20 years.

After the hearing, Anthony’s mother, Kala, and his brother blasted the killer’s conviction and sentence as “racist and biased” to cheering supporters who chanted, “Free Karmelo.”

Before the jury broke for deliberation, prosecutor Dewey Mitchell explained that the sentencing was about deciding the cost “of taking a life” in Collin County — one of the most conservative parts of Texas.

One of Anthony’s lawyers, Mike Howard, insisted that considering the extenuating circumstance at hand wasn’t about blaming anyone at the track meet the day Metcalf was murdered.

Anthony sobbed his way through the bulk of the “mini-trial” after the jury delivered his guilty verdict.

Anthony’s sympathizers tried to make the case about race and painted Metcalf as a white bully. Their argument wasn’t helped by the process that selected the jury, which didn’t feature a single black person.

Witnesses who took the stand easily dispelled the antagonistic theories.

Metcalf’s teammates told the jury that the fight began when Metcalf asked Anthony, then a 17-year-old from Frisco Centennial High School, to move out from under the Memorial High School team’s tent.

Anthony refused to budge from the bleacher area where the rival teammates pitched their tent despite being asked roughly 15 times by Metcalf and others.

As the argument escalated, Anthony warned Metcalf, “Touch me and find out,” while dipping his hand into his backpack as if ready to grab something, witnesses recounted.

Metcalf eventually shoved Anthony, and the irate teen whipped a semi-serrated folding knife out of his bag, plunging it once into the victim’s chest, according to testimony.

Anthony insisted he acted in self-defense but did not take the witness stand during the trial — a move experts say likely sealed his fate.

That man — 35-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. — was found incompetent to proceed to trial “at this time,” US Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina Russ Ferguson said.

Ferguson addressed reporters outside the courthouse immediately after the June 9 hearing and expressed confidence that Brown will eventually stand trial, despite Tuesday’s ruling.

“The court found that his prognosis is ‘good’ to be made competent and set a four-month deadline to have that process go forward,” Ferguson said. “The court ordered that he seek treatment and medication.”

The US attorney reiterated that Brown will stay in federal custody throughout the treatment. He said Brown’s treatment will be conducted by a doctor who will likely have several meetings with Brown and will give him individualized care.

Brown was in person Tuesday for the hearing in Uptown Charlotte and reportedly had an “outburst” during the appearance.

One WBTV reporter said Brown was heard saying he was having a “body emergency” among other things.

Ferguson was asked about the outburst during the impromptu news conference.

Despite Ferguson seemingly concurring that Brown is not currently ready for trial, he remained confident Brown eventually would be.

Ferguson ended his brief media session by noting that the doctor who examined Brown for the June 9 hearing found his prognosis for restoration was “very good.” Ferguson said he believes Brown will eventually stand trial.

Firefighters and emergency responders escorted immigrant families from their homes that had been set alight in Belfast on Tuesday night, as burning cars blazed on the street. A city bus was set on fire by young men on Newtownards Road in east Belfast, and garbage cans engulfed in flames were used to create roadblocks elsewhere in the city.

The unrest came after authorities charged Hadi Alodid, 30-year-old Sudanese man, with attempted murder in the stabbing attack Monday night, prompting calls from anti-immigrant activists for protest amid heightened tensions in the United Kingdom over immigration.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said in a statement issued late Tuesday that “sporadic pockets of disorder” had broken out in a number of locations across Northern Ireland.

Michelle O’Neill, the First Minister of Northern Ireland, appealed for calm, saying there could be “no excuse and no justification for these attacks,” in a statement issued early on Wednesday.

“Groups of masked men burning families out of their homes is nothing less than disgusting cowardice. This has nothing to do with community. This is outright thuggery,” she wrote. She called the earlier stabbing attack in north Belfast “heinous and wrong,” but added that “there are dangerous attempts to exploit that to target and attack innocent people who are simply trying to live, work and raise their families here.”

Tighearnan, from Northern Ireland, was filmed hitting the assailant five times on the head with the wooden hurley as other people kicked and punched him on Kinnaird Avenue on Monday night.

Police arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder and declared a critical incident. The suspect was taken into custody after a victim suffered “significant injuries” to his face, neck and back.

In a social media post, Tighearnan said he “just landed there by chance” and managed to “protect a young lad”. He is understood to have been visiting his partner, who lives on the street where the attack took place.

Asked on social media why he had intervened and whether he had waited for the police, he said: “Mate, I just landed there by chance. Cops were called before I even got out to protect a young lad. As if waiting on cops was my first thought.”

A court has heard Steven Ogilvy, the victim of the “attempted beheading” in north Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the United Kingdom this week lost one eye and suffered serious damage to the other, as well as deep cuts to his neck. He remains in hospital in serious condition.

The alleged attacker, 30-year-old Sudanese national Hadi Alodid appeared at a Belfast court this morning by way of a video link from the high security Musgrave Street Police Barracks. He had refused legal representation and what few responses he made to the judge came through an Arabic interpreter, the BBC reports.

The incident occurred during the night of July 25, 2020, when Tamar ran away from home in Marken following a disagreement regarding her phone and laptop use.

Her body was later discovered by authorities on the shoulder of the Zeedijk, a road connecting Marken and Monnickendam. She had been hit by a car. Medical evaluations concluded that the teenager was likely killed instantly upon impact.

In fact, the police initially told the mother the driver was a German, but later, it was discovered that all four men in the car had an Iraqi background and were driving to a campgorund. The driver, Jamal T.., was actually an Iraqi applying for asylum in Germany and was driving with German plates.Even until this day, media outlets in Germany and the Netherlands falsely report that the driver was German.

When the mother learned the man’s Iraqi background, she told Dutch media that the police responded that they had withheld the real background “because we didn’t want to create a (Geert) Wilders-effect.” Wilder is a Dutch right-wing political leader. She described this as a “second blow” after losing her child, emphasizing that they should have been honest rather than offering “political excuses.”

The driver did not just flee the scene in Zeedijk, but forensic evidence suggests that her body was moved at the scene of the accident. Furthermore, his vehicle was cleaned and sold just two months after he struck the girl. He claimed, however, that he never noticed hitting the girl, saying he thought he hit “something” but did not know what. The girl was hit so hard by the impact that the coroner said she died instantly.

Forensic analysis verified that the suspect’s vehicle had indeed struck the teenager, causing her fatal injuries. However, prosecutors initially declined to pursue criminal charges, stating it could not be proven that the driver, who was 28 at the time, “could be accused of serious traffic errors.”

Despite driving away from the scene of the girl’s death, he was given only a €1,500 fine for looking at his phone while driving. However, he was not even given the fine, as he disappeared and the fine was “undeliverable” for years.

The family finally took matters into their own hands. They filed an Article 12 procedure, a legal mechanism allowing citizens to challenge a prosecutor’s refusal to take a case to trial. Now, finally, after six years, 33-year-old Iraqi is being prosecuted for the fatal accident and fleeing the scene.

The legal representative for the family, Sébas Diekstra, expressed the profound emotional weight of this development on behalf of Tamar’s parents and brothers.

“For Tamar’s parents and brothers, this is a long-awaited and fraught moment. After years of uncertainty and waiting, the point has finally been reached at which the case will actually be substantively prosecuted,” Diekstra stated to Dutch outlet AD.

The attorney highlighted the toll the multi-year delay has taken on the relatives, noting, “The road here is tough and exhausting. For the parents and brothers, it feels for a long time as if their case has come to a standstill, while they are confronted every day with the loss of Tamar and the questions that remain unanswered.”

“One thing is central to them: truth and justice. The file and traces in this case show that there is no real scenario other than that Tamar was moved after the collision. This fact means that this case should never have been left behind and must now be assessed by the criminal court. Clients hope that action will now be taken without further delay,” added the lawyer.

The case has become extremely divisive due to the authorities attempting to hide the suspect’s nationality, according to the mother, all in order to make sure Geert Wilders did not benefit from a case involving Iraqi nationals driving away from the scene of a crime. It further creates the perception of two-tier policing. The fact that the prosecution did not even pursue a trial despite evidence the body was moved raises further questions about how the case was handled.
