If you’ve never tried your hand at an affiliate contest, you’re missing out.

Some you don’t even need to have a list for in order to win.

I just got the word (as in JUST got the email) about a new one that I’m gonna try for this week – the prize is $2k cool hard cash.

All I have to do is ask people I think will like solid info about building an online business to click on this link:

http://andreagoodsaid.com/contest

Just you clicking it will help me to win.

Okay … that’s my whole purpose for this post roflol…

Grin!

But seriously (it kinda is – lol) if you’ve never taken a look at affiliate contests before they can be a great way to not only win cool stuff …

I’ll tell you about the first one I won a prize in with ZERO list in a minute.

But first let’s look at a few ways you can benefit from these thingies.

(they really can be cool)

- recognition – probably to biggest benefit (because it can translate into mucho dollars over time)

- increased productivity – anytime there’s a deadline to focus on, you’ll be amazed at how much you can get done

- more leads to your list – if you place an optin ahead of the affiliate link target (I didn’t this time because I’m in a hurry tsk tsk lol – but I know Matt personally so I also know tracking is tight)

- cash and prizes – this is the most obvious, but actually turns out to be just the icing… sure I want to win the top prize, but those are short lived … you actually get a lot more traction long term out of the other three points.

That said – I still use the video camera that I won in my first try at an affiliate contest back in January of 2010.

I got in the top 10 with 15 or so sales and I did it without any official list at all.

And here’s how I did it.

I was active in several groups and forums.

People knew me through the good question answering and commenting I’d already been doing.

So I came up with a plan to offer a workshop related to the product that was being promoted.

I put the offer out to the people who already knew liked and trusted me and within a week or so I had the sales made.

One thing to know … for me anyway, it usually comes down to a win/win closing of the sale one person at a time.

So don’t fool yourself into thinking that you’re gonna just send some random links out into the ether anonymously and get any particular traction.

Sure you might make a sale or two if you get your link in front of enough people but …

That’s not marketing …

And you might be a spammer…

So click on this link:

http://andreagoodsaid.com/contest

Just you clicking it will help me to win. Remember there’s $2k at stake – grin.

The info Matt’s got on the other side he should actually be charging for…

… And if you decide to buy something from him (which you may very well – most of the people I send to him do eventually), be sure to let me know and I’ll put together a nice bonus package …

A bonus package tailored just to you and what you want help with next!

so … Click the link:
http://andreagoodsaid.com/contest

Just because you can

I appreciate you!

Andrea

Funny right?? (and cool that it’s so true)

Read below if you want a full update on Empower Network and a true feel for the energy and intention behind all the recent viral excitement.

I appreciate you!

Andrea

Now here’s David …

Man, I’ve been so busy in the last six weeks, that I haven’t even had a chance to post to my own personal blog

* yes, I’m going to keep this site going and strong – although my focus is now solely on empowering others to succeed, and be able to live the same kind of lifestyle that I do, and I now have the means to do it.

I’ve been wanting to write a post on this blog since we launched the Empower Network on Halloween day this year, but haven’t had the time.

Literally, I’ve been working probably harder than I ever have in my entire life – and that’s ok, because what I’m doing is making a difference in a tremendous amount of people’s lives all over the world.

I didn’t expect us to grow this fast – honestly, it has been totally out of control, which is where I want to be – in the unknown, and on the edge of life.

Here’s what’s happened in just over 2 weeks (16 days):

We’ve paid out $774,499.20 in commissions

We’ve grown to have over 6,067 paid affiliates in about 40 countries around the world.

Our website for the last 7 days has been in the top 900 websites in the world in Traffic according to Alexa.com:

Here’s the powerful thing though – that $774,499.20 in commissions that we’ve paid out hasn’t just gone to one or two people – an incredible amount of people have started making more money than they’ve ever made in their entire life.

Here’s a snippet – all of these are real and verifiable:

Lawrence Tam has now made $34,500 in only 16 days – he’s a part time Dad, husband, and a full time Engineer.

Toby and Layla Black have now made $30,800 in 16 days – they were a couple of broke musicians.

Bryan Addison has now made $6,775 in just 16 days – I don’t know if we’ve ever talked

Jon Mroz has made $9400 in less time – I think 7 or 8 days – he’s a great friend.

Barbie Zabel has made $11,250 in 10 or 15 days – I’ve never met her, and neither had her sponsor, Nick.

He actually called me and said – “Dave, I got a lady named Barbie in my group who’s made over $10k, is that badass or what?”

Here’s the thing though – Barbie sponsored Beau Bridgewater (again, we’ve never met) and Beau has now made $8,850 in only 2 weeks – and I’ve never met Beau, either

Although I’m looking forward to meeting him.

Right now – we’re adding over 550 PAID MEMBERS a day

Those are not leads – those are people who make a decision.

That’s a tiny amount of the people who are making it – look at these Facebook Comments: (taken from THIS POST)

The fascinating thing about the Empower Network is the sheer number and quality of people who have gotten on board – and we’re not even a network marketing company – we’re just here to help you make more money, no matter what business, system, company, or affiliate tools you’re promoting – and that’s just a snippet.

There’s more – a LOT more.

If you really want to be fascinated, listen to this Conference Replay from this last Monday – our second week in business, and more than 2,250 people were dialed in for 90 minutes straight – ignore the intro at the beginning of this – I used this for a voice broadcast:

(Click play to listen here. You can also Download it.)

Download that, and listen to it in your car, and tell me if that’s not powerful.

So we’re doing good – that’s obvious, and not the point of this post. We have some critics, too – and that’s fine – we’re a new concept, and not everyone ‘gets it’ yet – some people see what we’re really offering, and some people just think we’re only here to get money.

They will see it – and I love them even if they don’t – you and I can do great things together, regardless of whether you see the vision or not.

So I promised that I would share why I really decided to start this company – really, we’ve got to go back in time about 2 1/2 years.

When I started my business online, I was not in a good situation – I needed to make it work. I was broke, and homeless – although I chose that situation, the reality was that every day of my life was a struggle.

Just as an example, one day my wife and I were hungry, and my brother Jonny and I lifted her up to grab a breadfruit from a tree. She started to slip a bit and we dropped her, breaking her foot. It was a small break, but we had no insurance and had to use government medical assistance to get her to a doctor – the doctor didn’t give her a cast, and the break wouldn’t heal.

I made her a cast out of card board and pieces of wood that I dug out of a trash can, and she hobbled around on a make shift cast and a walking stick until her foot healed – somewhere, I have a picture and I’ll dig it up and show you some day – the point is, I know what it’s like to struggle.

I remember not having money for food, the shameful feeling of borrowing money from my Parents over and over again, and walking around a deserted business street looking for any job that would pay me, no matter how menial the task.

When I got started, and made a decision – I took action all day and night. I can’t tell you what courses I went through, because I don’t remember – it got lost somewhere between writing an article at 4am, making a phone call to a craigslist lead, and making a 200 slide sales presentation while trying to love my wife the best way I know how.

I worked until I almost bled from exhaustion.

I didn’t complain, and I didn’t whine – I didn’t ask my sponsor for anything – no webinars, no tech support – nada.

If it needed to be done, I did it.

And more.

While other people were going to parties, eating out, and socializing – I was marketing, making videos, setting up blogs, and writing reviews.

While other people took their money and spent it – I took it and put it all back into the process, and I can say one thing – that I have out worked almost everyone I know.

It worked. I started making $5,000 a month, and then $10,000 a month, and then $30,000 a month, and more…

However – about six months into my business, I realized there was a massive disconnect in the industry. There was too big of a gap between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’

There was the ‘rockstars’ and the ‘grinders’ – not really much in between.

The reality was – the pure truth, without the courses, the hype, the launches – what we are doing is too hard for a normal person, who works a job, has a family, and is part time.

The real money in this industry is protected by an iron curtain, an almost impenetrable wall of elite – and you know what? They’re all great guys and gals – truthfully. But there was nothing for the common man or woman – nothing for the masses in our entire niche.

No matter how hard I tried to teach people what I’m actually doing – no matter how many webinars I did to explain the tactics – people just couldn’t do it all. It was too complicated – too much work, too expensive.

There was too much ‘buy this to get the results that you want‘, and too much knowledge required to get started.

Outside of the internet, the network marketing industry teaches things that have too much ‘cognitive resistance’ in industrialized countries, and as a result, the real numbers reported by the DSA show that the MLM industry has been in decline in the USA for the last two years – and it’s because what we do is either too complex, or has too much social resistance.

Option #1 – Old School:

Pull out a 1982 notebook, slam all your friends in, and use this script:

“Hi Grandma, I just decided to expand my business operation here in South Carolina and…”

Option #2 – Attraction Marketing:

First, setup…

…everything – learn FTP skills, configure plugins, setup social profiles – go to design school…

…and when you’re done, learn to market

Because of the simple reality that people hate chasing prospects – they rush to option #2, with the promise of great riches at the push of a button – but here’s the real problem…

…attraction marketing doesn’t work the way people are socially wired.

As a result, although there’s no emotional inturruptions to doing it like their are in old school behaviors, it’s just too complicated to work without an 18 month learning curve.

Those of us who are willing to quit thier job, go full time, and spend five hundred hours reading forums can make it.

Nobody else.

Ask yourself this, and be honest – who do you know online that makes a REAL full time income part time?

Nobody.

Until this little thing that just happened two weeks ago.

Why? Because they can’t do it – there’s too much to learn, too many things to do, too much money to spend, and too little profit.

So one day, walking through the woods…

…shirtless (of course)

With the sun shining – I came up with an idea that can change the world.

What if I could build something that paid out exponentially more money than even the company made – where anyone – even someone who didn’t understand technology, FTP, blogs, plugins, or ANY of it – could get started and make more money than I did from my own creation?

What if I could make it so easy – a Grandma could do it?

What if I could make it so credible – a teenager could do it?

What if I could make it so social – that Facebook would love it?

What if I could create such value – that Google would marry it?

What if it was so duplicatable – the old Schoolers would join it?

…and it wasn’t network marketing, wasn’t really an affiliate program…

…but – something new all together? That couldn’t interfere with what you do.

and the idea of the Empower Network was born. <— [by the way, that’s not an affiliate link – just a link to my EN blog go see for yourself - AG]

That day – wandering in the wilderness, shirtless, I also became restless.

For months, I came up with sketch after sketch, process after process – but something was missing – I had the idea, I figured out the technology – and I had money to invest…

…but I didn’t have David Sharpe.

Why was David important?

Because simply – I don’t make high converting capture pages and split test stuff – I create social sales processes – and it’s different.

Sure, I’ve been the #1 recruiter in the top attraction marketing system for 2 years, and am the #1 recruiter in a network marketing business as well – but the reality is, Dave Sharpe can do something I can’t do alone – he’ll sit there…

…not kidding

STARING at a capture page for hours – moving a word to the left, and say:

“God that page looks Gorgeous”

Lol.

And I’ll walk in the room, and look at a single headline, start laughing – and we’ll test it and it pulls 50% landing page conversions like clock work. That’s a skill that I want to put into your hands.

Dave has a gift.

So I said – “hey man…“

“…why don’t we get together – and make people more money, and give them more freedom – than has ever been able to happen, ever – online or offline…”

and we said:

“Fuck the bull shit – let’s just pay out 100% commissions“

Because it’s not about us anymore – it’s only about you. You don’t work for me at the Empower Network – I am here to serve you. You are not my slaves, I am your servant. And I want to help you change your business.

I want to help you change your life.

I want to simplify everything.

If you’ll let me.

The Empower Network is more than just a good idea – it’s a system for the little people. And it’s not an attraction marketing system – and it doesn’t replace or compete with any system or Network Marketing business out there.

It is something new.

It is an idea – an idea that works the way people work.

It’s an idea that works the way the internet works.

It’s a system that pays the way the people want.

It’s a community that can help YOU get what YOU WANT.

It’s an idea that has created a frenzy.

It’s an idea who’s time has come.

It is not about me – it’s about you.

You will be the product.

You will be the face, the training, the message…

An interesting turn of events ….

As I’m about to head out the door for Live the Dream II (a marketing event put together by the folks over at MLSP), my girls come home from school and the oldest one comes in to my office where I’m putting the final touches on a broadcast to the peeps and says, “pleeease take me with you…”

… and turns out ’cause I was driving and had space in my hotel room … she could.

Road trip for Andrea and Aleda

Disney Coronado Springs Resort for three days just the two of us – sweet!!

Granted she’s missing a day or two of school, but trust me – the education she’s already getting here after a whole day of Mark Hoverson (very intimate little group btw – if you ever get the chance Just Do It) …. priceless.

Literally priceless.

I asked her, about 4 hours in, on one of the breaks what she thought of everything she’d heard so far (realize this is pretty much her first exposure to ANY of this marketing junk) … and she says “it’s good – I could listen to him all day”

Now just to underscore the sort of milestone this is …. she literally has NEVER shown an interest … but now is willing to just be a sponge. Nice!

Imagine learning this stuff at 17 instead of 44 like her Mom. Lucky ducky.

And so now here’s the neat little twist on the “Live the Dream” theme for this weekend…

Aleda and I have always (always) wanted to see Cirque du Soleil – any show would do. I mean this girl had a VHS tape of theirs (yes I said VHS) that she about wore out when she was younger.

And it just so happens that not 4 miles away in downtown Disney, there’s a permanent show of Cirque du Soleil – how could we pass it up?

The answer to that is – of course we couldn’t. Big whoop to folks like you out there reading I suppose but it’s one of those things that Aleda and I will be able to check off our ‘must do’ list and I think that’s pretty darn cool.

And here’s the take-away that I offer you … pretty sure we wouldn’t be going so effortlessly had we not been out at this live event. Truthfully it was just this “would be nice to do one day” ideas. No clue whether we would have taken the time ever.

BEing out and available for new adventures IS Living the Dream.

This weekend has delivered on its promise even before the actual event has even begun.

Cool huh?

Get out to live events

‘Nuff said.

This morning I took 47 minutes I was pretty sure I didn’t have and spent it taking furious notes as I listened (riveted) to Daegan interviewing Mark H.

The takeaways will totally depend on where you are now in your online Network Marketing adventure/learning curve and where you hope to go next, but I can absolutely say that you will take away *something* and that there’s a very good chance it could be paradigm shifting.

There are a few good reasons that these two have this effect on people like you and me:

1. They’ve been there done that with a lot of the trial and error of what works and what doesn’t.

Daegan especially is a master at creating leads on demand.

He does a LOT of testing and he shares his results (both good and bad) with the people who are smart enough to be in his inner circle.

And I have a confession on that front … a V-8 style head slapping kinda confession …

I have only just gotten in there myself.

But I have this annoying certainty that I would have benefited many times over the cost of the membership if I had just taken action sooner.

I’ve known about him for 2 years and feel pretty clear (actually I KNOW) that I’ve left a boat load of profits on the table because I didn’t join sooner.

But I digress … back to why Daegan and Mark are so darn effective…

2. Daegan is a really really good interviewer.

I can tell you first hand … after a trip to the guidance counselor this last week with my oldest daughter who is starting her Senior year in HS … the answers we get most often are only as good as the questions we ask.

Daegan asks excellent questions.

Now for the third reason this interview kicked hiney and took names…

3. Mark is a king of storytellers.

To be honest, Daegan is too – it’s just not the hat he was wearing this time.

Mark’s stories draw us in and empathize in ways that we maybe didn’t even know needed empathy. He has this uncanny ability to teach and instruct without beating you over the head and feeling preachy.

It’s so magnetic.

He even does some super soft selling of one of his main products and presells another … and all I feel is excited for the people who haven’t been exposed yet and will be.

We could all do to get better at storytelling …

Would love to hear your biggest takeaway after listening to the interview – I’ll be reviewing my notes and will add my own ‘biggest takeaway’ to the comment area below later today.

Listen to the interview on Daegan’s site:
http://daegansmith.com/story-selling/

And then come back and let me hear from you!

First 5 people to comment and share this post get a free 30 minute consult from me ($150 value)

Appreciate you!

Maximum Leverage = the ultimate “Bad Hair Day -> Video Anyway”

Daegan asked: “What was your biggest personal breakthrough this year?”

And he really wants to know bad ’cause he’s even bribing us to tell him on video.

I’ll tell you more about that below …

But first – here’s my biggest break through (OMG I can’t believe I’m posting this roflol):

Here’s what building my video skills has done for me in this past year:

1. I’m able to grab a moment in time anywhere (and with any hair apparently – grin) and get my thoughts ‘down’ in just a matter of minutes

2. I’m able to brand my own products and membership sites with personal videos that help people see my vision and feel my passion way more easily and quickly than just writing alone (and I’m a writer by choice) – a marketers dream.

3. Videos leverage me 24/7 and people will watch them way more readily than they’ll open a .pdf

4. It’s been i-n-s-t-r-u-m-e-n-t-a-l in my adding 49 new people to my group.

5. I’m actually inspiring others to do the same for themselves.

Let me explain …

See, more than a good handful of people have “confessed to me” how seeing my first videos online inspired them – BECAUSE they were so bad and I posted them anyway …. that’s what actually got them off the fence doing their own.

And they always start out with “Don’t take this the wrong way or anything …” .. lol …

But why would I?? They sucked! And doing them has impacted both myself and countless others in such a positive way.

Nothing but good stuff if you ask me.

Anyway – back to Daegan. And this contest he’s running.

Apparently sometimes we all need an additional little push to get out of our comfort zone.

Short of shaving my head bald and going on camera, this morning he inspired me to do what I would never in a million years have believed I would do in video. Plus I know ahead of time that a ton of people are gonna see it.

Ask anyone who’s known me for 20+ years if they’re ever spotted me with my head ‘au natural’ …. NOPE!

But there ya are – this is literally my biggest breakthrough.

Video.

And we all have Daegan Smith to thank for that. (thank-you again Daegan)

Come check out Maximum Leverage with me – nothing beats learning the next thing together

See you inside,

Andrea

PS. Before today, even though people like JB and Mark Hoverson, Jay Roberts and Kurt Henninger know exactly who I am … I’m pretty sure that Daegan has zero clue. Never heard of me before in his life (we may have to double check that with him – but pretty sure) … guess what … he does now!!

Lesson there?? Sure I could have gotten a personal intro through one of the other guys at some point. But this is so much more effective – and memorable, right? It pays to join in the fun when the ‘big guys’ make moves.

Always comes back around to -> “help other people get what they want” … now how cool is that?

We laughed, we danced, we cried, we showed up for the work that was so generously offered up to us and when it was done, we wished it was just beginning all over again.

Unstoppable Entrepreneur.

How do I even begin to express how this weekend has transformed me! What is surely nothing but the tip of the iceberg for Jonathan Budd and the entire Empowered Entrepreneur team has started a ripple.

And for me – there’s really just one word …

Validation.

YES, I’m a gotta see it to really believe it kinda gal.

And this event was chock full of validation.

Seriously… lives were impacted this weekend. I mean … in my head I “knew” they would be, but witnessing it has equally impacted the observers.

THIS observer.

5 Validations and the Moments of Revelation for Me:

1. Video Marketing

Video marketing builds your brand and reaches people you will never know about. If you truly want to make a difference in the lives of others and you want the shortest, most direct path … begin video today.

Andrea’s validation moment (know):

“I’ve watched all of your videos on Youtube, you are amazing and I can really relate to who you are. I’ve been waiting for two months to meet you”.

2. Blogging works – just do it.

For branding, blogging doesn’t actually take a whole lot of content – in fact sometimes, less can be more.

Less doesn’t clutter up your visitor’s mind and time or add to the overwhelm they feel at just about every turn everywhere esle online.

Intend for your blog to be long enough but not more than enough to get your intended audience to the next step that you want them to take. And somewhat conveniently, the less it takes to get them there, the more they’ll believe they can do it too.

Huge.

Andrea’s validation moment (like):

“I’ve been on your blog. Katie’s and others too. And I’m really struck by how down to Earth everyone is.”

3. Webinars work too.

In fact they work so well that people will come to recognize you in surprising ways.

Andrea’s validation moment (know):

So I’m standing in line waiting to pay the cashier for a snack on a lunch break and Teddy Howell is across from me hunting for a cookie that’s not chocolate – he finally picks one that is ’cause there’s nothing else left. And I say “you know you don’t really want that …” he looks up and says “Andrea?” and after I cock my head wondering how he knows he says “… it’s your voice”

OMG.

4. Live Events – all that and a bag of chips.

Networking events are over the top important for making effortless, heart-centered connections for sure. But how incredible it is to go to them already having built the connection and then finally be meeting them for the first time.

Andrea’s validation moment (know, like and trust):

Meeting my Mastermind Partners in person for the first time at the registration desk after months of coaching work together was like old home week.

5. Inner Circle Access ROCKS!

Inner circle access based on merit, mixed in with an extra dash of personal recognition after extended, devoted and selfless service is … well … it’s exquisite.

Andrea’s validation moment (know, like and trust):

Being invited to the “Baller’s Party” because I made the sales, but being recognized and welcomed by JB, MH and others because my branding and consistent service has made its own mark.

What’s it Take??

So what’s it take to get results like these?

Well, mostly it’s all about taking inspired and consistent action.

Period.

But like Jonathan said early on in the weekend … it’s not instant.

We have to build up the muscles.

Consistency muscles.

Abundancy mindset muscles.

Marketing muscles.

Unstoppable Muscles.

And the only way not to have that too is to quit.

Oh and there’s all that junk that gets tangled up in the story you tell yourself about who you are. But that’s a whole other conversation.

Bottom line – “Who you are is really insanely powerful.”

BE Unstoppable.

Love and appreciation,

Andrea

So this morning I get a question from one of my Mastermind Partners:

“How do I do a clickable link on text?”

This is one of those things I’ve meant to cover a post on forever. So today is the day.

It’s also one of those things that’ll hang people up for way too long and SO doesn’t need to.

And it for sure falls into the category of things you don’t know until you know.

This is true for everyone.

So don’t feel silly having asked the question … and I won’t feel silly for answering it in a blog post, k?

Here’s a video that’ll show you how to create a hyperlink in wordpress, Word, and just about any program that has a wysiwyg (short for ‘what you see is what you get’) text editor.

Another day I’ll do the html version for you if you want (let me know that you want – grin)

Here we go …

How to Make a Clickable Link In WordPress

Also – remember that you can view any video larger (full screen) by clicking the lower right hand corner:

Any questions?

Well I had this wild hair last night and I went and opened my mouth on Facebook about it so now it’s real – lol.

Enter The 30 Day Article Challenge!

This will make challenge #3 on this order for me.

In August 2010 it was the 30 Day Video Challenge (2nd try) that ruled the days.

Then in December I got this brilliant (but less than perfectly timed) flash to do a 30 Day Webinar Challenge which has turned out to be taking far longer than 30 days – but oh the learning curve that’s been and continues to be beaten down… and gee the many upsides to it all.

Then last night – I had this little voice nudge me and whisper “time for an article challenge” … and I said … (mind you I was 1/2 asleep) … SURE!

Now here we are – creating (on the fly as usual) the ‘deets’ as Mastermind Partner and all around pal-o-mine Kimberly Smith coined.

So here are the “Deets”:
(and please feel more than encouraged to join us – no matter when it is you’re stumbling across this post)

1. goal – 30 articles in 30 days – notice I am not saying an article a day. I tend to work in spurts and I refuse to beat myself up trying to follow a super set schedule.

2. articles MAY include videos – if posted in a space that allows them with your text (hint: there’s huge SEO value in including an article with your video on sites like youtube – could even be you add articles to your old ones!)

3. 250 well written words can = an article (no need to write books here – short and sweet can be … well … short and sweet)

4. membership site content counts – this is mostly about me … I have two sites that need attention and it’s time to “get ‘er dun”

5. post your links below as they go live if you want comment love and/or accountability

6. Download this tracking sheet – if you like having a written record of what you’re doing like I do

Did I forget anything?

You in??

Join in the content creation fun!

Appreciate you,

Andrea

Just read a super post by Linnea Kline about putting together a running list of blog posts geared specifically towards the person you most want to attract to you (aka. your avatar). Her original post is linked below.

Three things I love about her post –

it’s re-purposed content from something she learned (take anything you’ve learned recently – write it down from your own notes/memory BAM – you’ve got an excellent piece of content worth sharing)

it’s something that I hadn’t thought of and will work on creating for myself – but more than that … it made me think in that Avatar direction even further and come up with a kick-butt (I think – lol) idea for an optin offer.

she wrote it 4 months BEFORE I read and commented on it – god bless the Internet!

So What’s an Avatar?

Well, I know what I thought it was – at least in marketing circles …

But a quick search of the online dictionaries would seem to reveal that we [marketers] are yet again taking the English language and perceived realities of the average person and reinventing the phrase.

Bending it to our will.

I’m probably okay with that – just interesting to witness and take note of, dontcha think?

Here’s the marketer’s version (which I have no doubt will make it to the dictionary ‘officially’ in short order – oh yes we are that powerful – grin):

av·a·tar noun \ˈa-və-ˌtär\ - a detailed description of your ideal customer or business partner used to craft perfectly matched marketing messages and listbuilding funnels for a given market

And yes I made part of that up.

So an avatar is literally a list of qualities, attributes and characteristics of the exact person you would like to cross paths with. It makes writing copy, posts, updates, ads and content so much easier and effective when you’re ‘speaking’ very specifically to a single person.

See we don’t actually want *everyone* to want to go through each marketing funnel we create.

This is counter intuitive to the beginner marketer (and honestly – I still have to remind myself most days), but if we start with just one doorway that’s addressing the concerns and hotspots of just one ‘Avatar’ … conversions have no where to go but UP.

Tom “Big Al” Schreiter (boy dating myself now!) used to call it “just lookin’ for Bob”

How easy would it be if all if the prospects who were ready willing and able to join you in your business were named ‘Bob’ and all you had to do was go through your day “Lookin’ for Bob”?

What (and Who) Are We Really Looking For?

Upshot of all of this is that, if we want:

to attract our perfect market

the best conversions possible

to be gathering up a list of people who want what we’ve got

The questions that we then have to ask and answer for ourselves is “WHO do I really want to be attracting” (this is where the Avatar process described by Linnea comes in handy.

Next “What is the ONE thing that I could offer them in exchange for their contact info that would be perceived as way more valuable than the cost?”

And finally, “What else does this ‘perfect person’ want that I can continue to offer (both free and paid products and services) which will value-add to their life [to a degree that far outweighs the cost] and help them to get what they want.”

See it’s hard to know what someone wants if you haven’t decided who it is you’re talking to.

Gotta build the Avatar first.

I highly encourage you to get yourself a composition notebook that you can devote to the development of different Avatars that you want to be attracting to you through your optin funnels (yes I said Avatars and Funnels – there can ultimately be more than just one).

And go visit with Linnea’s list a bit if you need some help getting started with the attributes list.

What’s your ideal Avatar look like?

What’s just one (or two) features?

For me I begin with gender and age (I have two groups actually):

Women in the age range of 39-44 & 55-65

There’s a lot more to the profile – but this is where we begin – with a basic guidepost.

Post your first one below (could become a great brainstorming resource for us if lots participate) and then get out that paper and flesh it out, k?

Make it a great day,

Andrea

Phew been a busy email week – all in prep for something big that’s gonna bust loose here in the not too distant future. I can feel it.

Here’s one that stands out…

“I want to start coaching people in personal development and online marketing goals. Just not sure where to begin. I feel like I have ADD when I get online, need a plan of focus because as you know, being a woman we have to juggle so much. I want to set up a page on my blog but not sure where to go from there.(and I still need to make those changes to my blog that we discussed) Do I just take it as it comes or do I set up a questionnaire. I want to work with beginner marketers and help them get their mindset under control and guide them on getting started online.

Did you get most of your knowledge from when you worked with Jonathan or just from doing the do?

By the way, you’re doing a fantastic job with helping people ”

My reply to her:

Hi ______________,

To answer some of your questions -

I felt it really helpful to put together a questionnaire (letting people show whether they’re ready to do *any* work before I actually talk to them in person has been an important feature).

Setting up the page where I can say ‘go pick your coaching package’ has been huge as well.

There are two posts on my amsherpa blog that immediately come to mind that you may appreciate:

http://www.amsherpa.com/marketing-and-mindset-video.html

And this one I wrote just the other day:

http://www.amsherpa.com/personal-branding-if-you-think-it-isnt-for-you-a-coaching-moment.html

What you describe as online ADD is exactly the reason that my coaching ‘thing’ (it was never an intentional “business”) has come to life. There are a ton of people who need help – you just need to clarify your offer and then get in front of them.

It’s interesting … you’re the second or third person who has come to me wanting to begin coaching and not really knowing what to do to begin. Maybe I should think about that further…. hmmm.

Hope that helps – of course we could cover this in more depth if you decided to purchase a coaching package.

I would be glad to help you brainstorm this more deeply, plan out your package offerings, put your funnels in place, answer all of your questions about this, or your blog – whatever

But that’s another lesson you’ll want to learn fast … see I just spent 10-15 minutes replying to this email (again – happy to) and there [quickly] comes a point where 10 or more of these a days begins to take you away from your own concerns.

Getting people to select and make a coaching commitment is a way of their concerns becoming your concerns while minimizing the effects on your own time and energy towards your own projects.

Put that feature in place for yourself sooner than later

Now- question for you … if I made it completely anonymous … is it cool to use this as a blog post? That’s a good way for me to leverage the time too.

Let me know! [she said yes! - grin]

Hope this helps,
Andrea

____

PS. this convo combined with a few other happenings this week caused this update on my Facebook wall – which proves (again) that everything happens for a reason.

How cool is that?

Everyday I get people emailing me with different questions and thoughts and concerns and emergencies…. yesterday was particularly thick.

So many people … with the right coaching … would be able to move ahead at a faster clip and in the right direction.

It’s the “right direction” part that especially pains me when I hear from people who don’t know what they don’t know – yet.

I also end up email coaching people one-on-one far more than I can really afford to because I’m such a brainstorm junkie – it’s my Achilles heel.

But now and then there’s an opportunity to leverage my private email into a piece of content that can then (hopefully) help others as well.

This is one of those cases.

For background – he’s using a lead generator software that he says he likes (here after called “the leadpro thing” – grin)

Here’s how it went…

Personal Branding – if you think it isn’t for you … think again

First he said –

“My primary business is an electric company (energy) so I am not much interested to build downlines, but to bring customers for residential and commercial.”

“So all this branding particularly does not apply exactly to my industry, and this is probably one of the only industries that you need to sell the company instead of you.”

And then he said -

“Right now I am attracting people that are tired of webinars, blogs, fan page, ‘like me and I will like you’, videos, and wants faster results with more money in their accounts.”

And I replied -

Okay great – so what’s your plan for them – are you gathering them into a database somewhere? Do you mean you’re doing that with the leadpro thing? if so — super, where do you take them? What’re you selling them or planning to sell them?

I’m not really seeing the funnels (your funnels) … how are you automating and what is the outcome that you’re getting/looking for?

Seems to me like there are 3 distinct markets for any of us – and then many sub-markets within each of those <- the marketing funnel possibilities are pretty endless.

Retail – like you’re talking about for the energy customers
Wholesale or distributor attraction
Everyone else who is looking – falls into our lap but isn’t suited to our current “primary”

I think you discount the real need for *some* personal branding in this mix – and that’s a big mistake.

Doesn’t have to be all heavy-duty, time consuming, confused and intermingled with your traffic source – but to be honest, though I have known OF you since you came to Jonathan’s arena – I really don’t know anything about you … and in a perfect world THIS would be the time for you to have a solid page or two or funnel or email follow-up for me (or people like me) to go poke around and feel like I know who the heck you are.

Even a piece of content that shows me around that leadpro thing – showing me how it’s working for you – would both sell me on the product and endear you to me.

win/win every time.

That make sense?

The other upside [to personal branding] has been proven time and time again …

Branding a company first will always come back around to bite you in the rear because company situations change, policies change, laws change, etc … and if you’ve not been marketing YOU first – every effort that you’ve made up to that point goes straight in the toilet.

I could go on … but I’d have to start charging you for coaching or ask you to apply to partner with me in MY “primary” lol.

Hope this helps

Make it a great day,

Andrea

PS. Was pretty proud of that last sentence – both because I have some place to link out to AND because I’ve finally grown enough to know when to draw a polite and clear boundary line. Huge step for me!

they’re easy and they’re hard

pay attention to the am and pm of the scheduler – lest you schedule 12.5 hour webinars

you should not trust gotowebinar’s recording device

you should use camtasia

you should also remember to turn off the camera part of the recorder (picture in picture feature) unless you intend to use it

there is a way to get rid of it in editing mode if you have to

camtasia cannot hear what you are hearing in your headset – think eaves dropping on a phone and you’ve got it

webinars are easier with an audience – even if it does make you a little nervous

even an audience of one is enough when you’re re-recording due to faulty goto recorder

I could easily become addicted to them!

Well – I’ve gone and announced this on Facebook … so it’s official LOL.

After the huge success of my 30-day video challenge (success meaning that ‘doing’ video is something I enjoy and really like as a marketing medium now – before the challenge … not so much), I’ve decided too set myself a new challenge.

This time I’m tackling Webinars.

30 Webinars in 30 days!

Now what’s so grand about webinars?

Well, I mean apart from the obvious – that they set you apart from the crowd…

To tell the truth, I didn’t really ‘get’ how truly excellent webinars could be until I was invited to do a couple for Jonathan Budd

BOY do I see the power of webinars now.

Here are a few of the good juju by-products of doing webinars:

you become the ‘expert’ of whatever you’re topic is

you can give yourself away and leverage it as content or an optin piece later (as long as you record it) at the same time

you can speak to 200 as easily as you can speak to 1

you create a true scarcity of your own time the more people you can give-away good info to

you find yourself getting unexpected thanks and emails from places you never expected

you have a skillset that is uber flexible and can be used in many ways

you can practice and perfect your public speaking skills without feeling like you’re in the spotlight (this has been huge for me)

your visitors feel an even greater connection with you (know like and trust yeah!)

you can get super and immediate feedback re. what the market wants

The list of good things that can come from learning how to do presentations via webinar is amazing.

And the best part about it?

As long as you offer solid value first – people don’t mind a little personal promotion at the end.

Oh and did I mention the content you can leverage??

Win/win/win

So I’ve set this task for myself.

And here are some of the topics I’m covering so far:

WordPress basics (probably calls for several sittings)

Blogging basics Q&A (interactive blog problem solving sessions)

N.A.P.T.I.M.E Marketing – how to build a business online for caregivers

SEO Basics – how to backlink the right way

Diving Into the Newbie Pool – a tale of sheep, skunks and gorillas

How to host a webinar (lol!)

What else would you like to see?

If you’d like to come to any of these – or receive an email when I have the ones I’ll record available – be sure to add your self to this update list:

Psyched to get rolling!

First webinar tomorrow – gonna take 2010 out with a BANG!

(and plans for 2011 are even bigger – super excited!)

Thanks SO much for being a witness to it all …
(and be sure to come along for the ride if the timing is right – grin)

I appreciate you,

Andrea

You know how it is … there are so many tools at our fingertips…

And getting around to exploring them all – even when we probably *should* be setting them and forgetting them – well, let’s just say I can tend to put things off …

That stops today with Blog Broadcasts

Aweber (have seen in Getresponse too) has this option under the messages dropdown called – wouldn’t ‘ya know it “Blog Broadcast”

Here’s a quick video showing what I discovered about it:

(video coming right up – I had to make this post first so I can demo it – lol)

Oh shoot PLUS it’s time to take the girls to school … BRB!

Okay – back now and have the rest of the video ready for you

I can see where I have some major tightening up that can be done here – and I’m thinking that it’ll mean big benefits in terms of list response and general good will going forward.

Here’s a link to Aweber where you can grab a 30 day trial for a buck if you’d like to play with this feature of theirs.

Aweber $1 Trial

What do you guys think?

In appreciation,

Andrea

PS. Next thing I need to explore is List Automation Rules … a handy feature that lets you move subscribers from one list to another as they (for example) progress through the buying cycle.

For example – you have someone who moves from being a customer or prospective business partner who buys/joins and you want to upgrade them to a special update list created specifically to follow-up with folks folks like that….

This is such a common convo … but I guess that’s ’cause it’s how we get clear on what needs attention in our own “daily actions” and how we get ideas from others about how to grow.

We talk about it.

So Elle asked recently in a forum I frequent:

What is it that you are struggling with the most?

Peeps answered -

creating content consistently

lack of focus

outside responsibilities/ time pressures

clarity of direction

etc

And I’m here to tell ‘ya I suffer from all of the above – LOL

Well, sort of …

I have 3 kids who are always going in every opposite direction possible and a husband who tends to want to go in a fourth. Oh and an energetic (if somewhat neglected) year old husky. I do all of the kid taxi duty and shopping and most of the cooking.

And I don’t take any time for myself other than working on my marketing and personal development (working up to an exercise regimen) … it’s a situation where I love my work so it doesn’t feel like work… to the degree that my husband (even though I’m making money and doing for them) STILL has spells of “would you quick yacking on that thing” and I want to seriously just smack him tell him about himself.

Then I realize that he’s just grumbling ’cause I’m enjoying myself AND earning and that just doesn’t compute for him. (to be fair – he’s gotten a lot better about this … just making a point)

So I cut him some slack.

I guess point here is this:

Household support has also been an uphill climb and still rears its ugly head from time to time. We persevere (and triumph) anyway.

And then my absolute biggest personal “bug a boo” is 100% about focus … not just on my business – but in keeping focused on the right parts of building a business.

Waldemar said:

Now, my biggest struggle would be to stay focused. I´m a creative mind, with lots of ideas in my head. Obviously, since I quit my job a couple of years back – I´m doing something right (lol) – but yeah – this is definitely my biggest struggle.

Every time he posts – I feel a little more kindred spirited-ness (that a word? – nah- lol) thing going on … maybe we’ll work together one day.

I had a (new) Mentor recently list important business building things out as an acronym and then illustrate a really important point for me (in fact I think I should do a video of that – just to cement it in my own brain) … the “N” of his word was “No Scattered Focus” – and combined with the picture illustration … REALLY hit home.

And now that I mention it (the bit about making a “No Scattered Focus” video) – that’s something HUGE I learned in the last couple of years … every time you get passionate and the words and ideas pour out of your mouth or swirl around in your brain so you can’t sleep at night – there’s something worth sharing there and you should leverage it!

Make a video

Do a blog post

Host a webinar

Start a public conversation

Create SOMETHING that you can set on autopilot and point people towards 24/7 – what an incredibly important lesson that has been for me to wrap my brain around (and take action on).

Susan suggested an idea journal – got the idea from the one and only Jim Rohn.

Love the idea journal idea … I also have a friend who makes a 30 day calendar of her blog post ideas. So she always has a road map to follow for her blog content.

I guess the most important thing is to snap up those ideas and get them written/recorded so we can expand later (and then DO that) – very cool.

So tell me (if you wanna) … what is it that trips you up?

(thank-you for sharing – grin)

I appreciate you!

Andrea

It’s a gray and rainy day … we need the rain – been dry as heck here in Florida for weeks! (my poor tomatoes)

And as I went to my Facebook page for The Gift Of Inspiration to do my morning thing there (little syndicating here – a like and a comment there – couple good links and I’m done … usually) …

Thoughts about the relationship between mindset (mine) and business growth struck me dead between the eyes.

And being that I already have a Thirty Day Video Challenge under my belt (and have come to terms with the idea that videos with ball caps are OK – gotta be!) – I was able to joyfully embrace the urge to just jump up and tape what I was thinking.

You know – seize the day, strike while the iron was hot , yada yada ..

So I did.

This is the video that came next …

Marketing and Mindset – The exact turning point for me:

This is the coaching link I’m talking about:

The Page That Changed the Course of Everything for Me

And you’ll see it’s not something razzle dazzle – literally “Just a shopping cart”

Total game changer. Total.

What’d you guys think?

Lightbulb moment? Have a turning point story to share?

Excited to be growing with you!

Make it a great day,

Andrea

Sometimes I feel convinced that I must have developed Adult Onset ADD or something – the way I can tend to flit about from tab to tab, browser window to browser window, gmail chat to skype call and back again….

And it’s probably true – I probably do (nah I don’t really believe that … just sounds good lol).

I find this to be especially true – like I literally get squirmy in my seat and my mind drifts to strange (and sometimes wonderful) places …. point being though that then I’m really getting off the focused track…. this happens most often for me when I’m watching training videos.

Just can’t seem to manage more than 10 minutes at a crack.

And with the length of some of these training videos these days … 10 mins at a time just isn’t gonna cut it – not by a long shot.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought to myself – “Can’t I just have the crib notes p-l-e-a-s-e“.

Perfect example:

I was just about to start a training video for a new advertising medium … 26 mins long … not too bad.

But then (oh happy day!) I noticed there were .pdfs of the powerpoint presentations of that training and quickly opened up the one for that training.

It was all definitions!

Took me exactly 2.5 mins flat to read (and understand) it.

Boom 23.5 mins added on to my day.

Love it.

Andrea

More than once in my life I’ve been ‘accused’ of creating something from nothing – sales from thin air.

Could be it comes from all those years of making jewelry – one of the most highly marked up commodities in the world – very subjective…

When asked one time by a customer, “What does Andrea make?”, a co-gallery contributor said … “oh her? (referring to me), she makes the money”

And I really did …

See, at that time I was producing a line of sandblasted glassware with Western images (we lived in Montana) that cost a buck to make, about 5 minutes to do from start to finish and the smallest piece (a 2″ square corked bottle) retailed for $8.

And pretty much everything we made flew off the shelf…. to say he was a little envious was an understatement.

Where’s my point here … I know there was one … LOL

Ah yes, point is that something from nothing is in my bones – it’s what I’m used to … it’s a natural way of thinking for me.

But up until about 5 years ago – I was always focused on hard and lumpy things – things you first had to buy materials for – things that had to be crafted – things that had to be shipped. Literally things that could be passed from my hand to another’s.

All well and good to a point. But then

I started to burn out …

The weather beating me up got very old

The more I sold the more I had to make to the point that I would have these love/hate thoughts about successful shows

My middle baby turned out to be a major flight risk at craft shows and I found myself having to choose between making a sale or retrieving my toddler way too often – not good.

So I had to shift gears – reinvent what the ‘something from nothing’ would be. And I came online.

I fiddled and farted around for a few years …had a few false starts with websites, team joinings and ebook plans…. started affiliate marketing.

Then I got pretty serious and created my first membership site with my friend Jackie Lee.

Oh my …

To have created an info product and build a list to support it is to know true leverage. Even better & more than something from nothing … this was something from nothing once … reap the rewards over and over.

I had found my ideal … my heaven on Earth LOL.

But I hadn’t yet found my right vehicle… the ‘thing’ what would be my focus or the people who I would become prosperous with.

See I’ve gotta have friends along for the ride or it just isn’t very satisfying (imagine if there had been a way to profit share with that jealous artist … think he might’ve been a little more supportive? – uhh Yah.)

I’ve found it (and them) now, I’m busy putting my sites together and then I’ll share with whomever cares to hear the details

Can’t wait!

Are you good at creating something out of nothing?

(Bet you are and you don’t even realize it.)

Would love to hear about it!

Appreciate you,

Andrea

You know how it is when you read something and you just KNOW that there isn’t a better way that it could have been said??

Well, I just read a rant from Frank Kern that falls in this category … well to be honest most of what Frank writes does for me – he’s just a straight shooter, doesn’t ever mince words.

(I do wonder what he’s got up his sleeve to sell next but that’s a different story – lol)

So kindly read his rant and then come back here to chat a bit about it would you?

Here’s the Link to Frank Kern’s Rant -> You: The Best Guru EVER

It’s killer and raw and honest and .. well … it’s the plain truth about what it takes to make it online.

To offer a sneak peek – one big takeaway is – Stop Buying More Stuff!

(you already have everything you need)

Hmm … perhaps he’s re-opening his $300/mo cutting edge newsletter … heard a funny story about that from Mark Hoverson the other day LOL … will have to dig that up if you’re interested.

Anyway – he’s right, you don’t need more stuff. I know I certainly don’t.

Tools – yes sometimes … there are a choice few I wouldn’t go without.

But really the only thing I DO support always investing in to the extent possible is coaching and one-on-one masterminding time with someone who can help you move forward – two heads are better than one every single time and it’s rare that I don’t find it to be win/win no matter which side of the equation I’m on.

Anyway – read the rant – and see if it doesn’t speak to you like it has to me

I appreciate you!

Andrea

PS. I have something super special to offer a select (and very intimate) group of people who want a large chunk of coaching time with me (for way less than usual) – if that’s something you’ve been considering – this is the PERFECT time to raise your hand – will share the details if you’ll shoot me an email.

So you know up front – plan is to be making rather large money together inside of 90 days with this… if you don’t have the interest to dig in right now – this isn’t for you.

Otherwise known as – “Here’s how to Forward and Mask your affiliate links”

Hi guys -

That’s right – this has nothing to do with dudes who walk around with their underwear showing intentionally …

A new Biz Partner of mine pointed me to one of her main links and I just had to tell her about herself (it wasn’t too bad – she appreciated it).

Her domain that was taking her traffic to this great presentation page wasn’t masked! !

In other words – her link was all nice and pretty and branding her business on the front – but when they got there – they could see her replicated site link and user id, etc … all hanging out there just flapping in the wind.

Might as well have been her underwear – grin.

I let her know so she could fix it – but then said … ummm … how?

So I made her a quick video – and figured I’d share it here too.

Do the work once and all that after all … right?

So here is is

How To Forward and Mask Your Domain to an Affiliate Link

Sweet!

Have a great day,

Andrea

PS. One caveat never (Never) forward a domain that you have content on already – it doesn’t work. I mean it works – the forward will work fine … but no one will be able to get to your content if you do that.

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about my blogging habits and how to make them more consistent … more off the cuff and (ideally) interesting.

Thing about trying to make things interesting is that sometimes trying to do something rather than just doing it makes for less than exciting content … plus it takes a whole lot longer.

That’s two strikes in my book.

And in this day and age of too much information most places you look anyway -seems to me that shifting to a “what’s on my mind” kinda format may be the way to go.

I know for my part – the longer I take to get something ‘out there’ the less chance I have of actually getting that idea in place before another 50 pile up behind it.

Maybe I’m just a scatterbrain. Some say I’m a genius.

I’m not sure the two are ever mutually exclusive… but I’m working towards order from chaos so that an info empire can be born.

You realize that’s all it takes, yeah? To have an information product dynasty … (ooh that’s a big picture word) …

All it takes to build one is organized thoughts that are packaged/marketed in a way that others can find you and buy what they’ve been wanting.

But of course – first we have to know who it is we’re talking to.

So we can know what they want -> sometimes as simple as asking them.

Which means we need that darn list.

Which means we have to know who it is we want to attract to that list. And what to offer them so they’ll come join our [list] party.

Can get kinda circular, eh?

And it turns out – we’re usually best (and happiest) at talking to (aka. serving) people who are ‘just like us’ … generally meaning ‘just like’ in terms of where we’ve been [recently] – this so we can be the ‘expert’ and can show others what has worked for us.

So we can offer up value.

The funny part is … once we learn something we tend to immediately forget how terribly confused we were just 5 minutes earlier – or how even the most mind-blowingly simple things … if we don’t know that we don’t know … can be game changers.

The value in us is abundant.

I’m reminded of this each time I teach someone how to copy and paste.
(Note to self: do a ‘how to copy and paste’ post and link to it from here)

Our job is to recognize it. And package it. And get it in front of our market.

So where am I going with all this ….

Well, mostly I’m just trying this new stream of consciousness format on for size.

Checking it out in the mirror … seeing if I like the way it makes me look.

Wait – I don’t actually care how it makes me look – lol.

I know for a fact that self-reflection (out loud) is another one of those keys to wealth that most people don’t take advantage of. I aim to.

Why don’t more people?

There’s a lot of nicer ways to say this …. but basically I think they’re chicken.

We all are to one degree or another.

We’re afraid of what other people will think.

The ironic part is – till we let our own selves shine through … embrace transparency … let others enjoy our authenticity … we never really get around to building that list of people who are the perfect audience for us.

How wild is that?

Tell me whatcha think of this kind of post, k?

I appreciate you!

Have a secret to share.

Ready?

Here it is …

My best coaching and business connections online (not to mention friendships) have always come from participating in paid communities.

And here’s my take on why that is:

The Ultimate Filter -> Proactive People

People who join paid communities are proactively seeking solutions and they’re willing to put their money where there mouth is.

I mean think about it – what better filter for like-minded buyers is there than being members of a community that’s focused on a niche. Best case you gain customers and business or JV partners partners just by developing real relationships. Worst case you gain insight into what sort of questions are being asked (and not answered – hint – this is an opportunity) by the very people who are interested in the topic.

Massive (Built In) Momentum

Having a concentration of people all working in the same direction attracts even more of the same to it. IE. an active community feeds its own purpose and therefore is an endless resource of new activity and players.

Now this may sound a little predatory … but it really isn’t. It’s more about putting yourself (the marketer who is hopefully and enthusiast of the topic) in the path of your audience. Or at least a group of people that contains people who are your perfect audience.

Also I fully anticipate being the ‘perfect optin’ for some of my fellow community members – the paid community just makes it easier for us to find each other and build an authentic trust relationship more quickly.

Content Leverage

Adding value to a paid community is taken far more seriously (ie. is easier to leverage) than a free forum.

Why is that? – maybe it speaks to #1 … people are invested and so they pay better attention… not really sure, I just know what I’ve experienced.

Bottom line is this – my bottom line is always positively affected by participating in a few choice Paid communities.

And being able to do that while serving others in ways that they want … well it just simply rocks!

Here’s how to find a forum related to your niche:

Go to google.com and search “your niche” + forum
(be sure to replace “your niche” with the topic of your choice)

Unfortunately, this doesn’t necessarily bring back paid forums on the topic – but it gets you pointed in the right direction. You can start to see what sort of questions are being asked and brainstorm for content to set yourself up as a go-to person.

The paid community opportunities will actually begin to find you.

Here’s the most recent addition to my Paid Community Portfolio.

If the intro video speaks to you – let’s connect inside!

Make it a great day,

Andrea

This one is great for helping people with tech stuff – no doubt.

But the other one is my secret heart-space.

Problem is I always hit this wall when it comes to monetization.

Even had a “well-meaning friend” verify my doubt after I added an optin to it – he said “How’s that gonna make you money?”

uhh …

I haven’t taken the optin down (as you will see if you click through) … but I immediately wasn’t feeling as confident in the list purpose as I was originally.

This is the site:

The Gift of Inspiration

Could it be because there’s some limiting belief as far as “what’s a niche”?

Or maybe I have something blocking me as far as making money for being inspiring … is there some kind of conflict of interest there?

Does money ‘discredit’ the motivational good that I might bring to someone else?

Hmm …

What’s interesting is this … while I’m sitting around pondering all this junk – People like Jonathan Budd and Dennis Becker are out doing the deal.

Yep – that’s right. Taking action … making things move and shake.

Creating products and building communities that are far beyond just ‘feel good’.

They are seriously impacting people’s lives …. and making money themselves too …. and their peeps are happy.

Heck – their driving force is to help other people find the successes they seek and they’re getting rewarded as a by-product.

Tony Robbins is like that.

Frank Kern comes to mind too.

I wannna be like them

Limiting Beliefs the Topic Du Jour

Recently – I finished a 30-Day Video Challenge.

I’m in the middle of getting it posted on The Gift of Inspiration in a way that anyone can ‘do’ the challenge with me for a lot of years going forward.

The same sort of thing crops up for me with that … “sure that’s nice, but how’re you gonna make money”.

Turns out – that’s the easy part when you’re getting your stuff out there and helping other people get what they want (in this case – more comfortable with ‘talking head’ videos).

And now with Jonathan’s new project in particular – the monetization ‘problem’ suddenly doesn’t exist.

Continuity built in – some affiliate sales on the side and our Network Marketing businesses can grow too.

All we have to do is build the list – sweet!

Yep – pretty sure there’s money in inspiration.

Think?
