When I’m photographing siblings, I like the pictures to feel related, but not repetitive.  I try to envision how they’ll look up on a wall next to each other.  For this session, I challenged myself to come up with seven different ways to photograph these sweethearts using the same space of the studio… a window that gets absolutely delicious light in the late afternoons. I’ve gotta say… I really loved how the pictures turned out.  This mama is such a delight and it really shines through in these images.  Take a peek:

Today I went on a field trip to the Brookfield Zoo with my first grader and her class.  It was a really fun day, despite the fact that my feet are KILLING me right now and I’m seriously considering a long, hot bath and bedtime asap… hehe. : )  My kids go to an incredible school in Naperville where they’re loved and challenged and encouraged to learn for much deeper reasons that getting good grades.  Today’s zoo trip was just awesome because the kids have been studying animal kingdoms and phyla (yes I had to just google that word!) all year and you could definitely tell as they ventured from animal to animal. So cool.

I didn’t bring along my camera.  I totally should have, of course, but got lazy as we were walking out the door and decided to leave it behind and just focus on the kids instead. ; )  I did have it with me last Saturday, though, when I took the kids out to Cantigny for a few hours… here are pics from “our” tree (if you’ve taken the Sweet Shots Level One class you know what I’m talking about!):

 I am seriously enjoying the stage we’re in right now.  I just sold our stroller on Craigslist (sniff, sniff!) and we are on to bigger adventures… so exciting!!!

And the oldest… he’s gotten SO tall since I last saw him!!!
