What wood should I use?＋

Most Ana White plans use common pine, whitewood, or fir because it is affordable, widely available, and beginner friendly. Choose the straightest, driest boards you can find. For outdoor projects, use lumber and a finish suitable for your climate.

What tools do I really need?＋

Many projects can be built with a drill, circular saw, tape measure, speed square, clamps, sander, and appropriate safety gear. A miter saw and nailer can make repeated projects faster, but they are not required to begin.

How do I make cleaner, more accurate cuts?＋

Use a sharp blade, support and clamp the board, mark the waste side, and account for the blade kerf. Cut slowly and practice on scrap before cutting your project pieces.

Can I change the dimensions of a plan?＋

Often, yes. Review every shopping-list, cut-list, and assembly dimension before building because changing one measurement may affect several parts. Keep structural supports and safe spans in mind.
