11 Things Smart People Won't Say

These phrases carry special power: They have an uncanny ability to make you look bad even when the words are true.

There are some things you simply never want to say at work. There's no taking them back once they slip out, either. I'm not talking about shocking slips of the tongue, off-color jokes, or politically incorrect faux pas. These aren't the only ways to make yourself look bad.

Often, it's the subtle remarks--the ones that paint us as incompetent and un-confident--that do the most damage.

No matter how talented you are or what you've accomplished, there are certain phrases that instantly change the way people see you and can forever cast you in a negative light. These phrases are so loaded with negative implications that they undermine careers in short order.

How many of these career killers have you heard around the office lately?

1. "It's not fair."

Everyone knows that life isn't fair. Saying "it's not fair" suggests that you think life is supposed to be fair, which makes you look immature and naive.

If you don't want to make yourself look bad, you need to stick to the facts, stay constructive, and leave your interpretation out of it. For instance, you could say, "I noticed that you assigned Ann that big project I was hoping for. Would you mind telling me what went into that decision? I'd like to know why you thought I wasn't a good fit, so that I can work on improving those skills."

2. "This is the way it's always been done."

Technology-fueled change is happening so fast that even a six-month-old process could be outdated. Saying "this is the way it's always been done" not only makes you sound lazy and resistant to change, but it could make your boss wonder why you haven't tried to improve things on your own. If you really are doing things the way they've always been done, there's almost certainly a better way.

3. "No problem."

When someone asks you to do something or thanks you for doing something, and you tell the person, "No problem," you're implying that his or her request should have been a problem. This makes people feel as though they've imposed on you.

What you want to do instead is show people that you're happy to do your job. Say something like, "It was my pleasure," or "I'll be happy to take care of that." It's a subtle difference in language, but one that has a huge impact on people.

4. "I think ... /This may be a silly idea ... /I'm going to ask a stupid question."

These overly passive phrases instantly erode your credibility. Even if you follow these phrases with a great idea, they suggest that you lack confidence, which makes the people you're speaking to lose confidence in you.

Don't be your own worst critic. If you're not confident in what you're saying, no one else will be either. And, if you really don't know something, say, "I don't have that information right now, but I'll find out and get right back to you."

5. "This will only take a minute."

Saying that something only takes a minute undermines your skills and gives the impression that you rush through tasks. Unless you're literally going to complete the task in 60 seconds, feel free to say that it won't take long, but don't make it sound as though the task can be completed any sooner than it actually can be.

6. "I'll try."

Just like the word think, try sounds tentative and suggests that you lack confidence in your ability to execute the task. Take full ownership of your capabilities. If you're asked to do something, either commit to doing it or offer an alternative, but don't say that you'll try, because it will sound as if you won't try all that hard.

7. "He's lazy/incompetent/a jerk."

There is no upside to making a disparaging remark about a colleague. If your remark is accurate, everybody already knows it, so there's no need to point it out. If your remark is inaccurate, you're the one who ends up looking like a jerk.

There will always be rude or incompetent people in any workplace, and chances are that everyone knows who they are. If you don't have the power to help them improve or to fire them, then you have nothing to gain by broadcasting their ineptitude. Announcing your colleague's incompetence comes across as an insecure attempt to make you look better. Your callousness will inevitably come back to haunt you in the form of your co-workers' negative opinions of you.

8. "That's not in my job description."

This often sarcastic phrase makes you sound as though you're only willing to do the bare minimum required to keep getting a paycheck, which is a bad thing if you like job security.

If your boss asks you to do something that you feel is inappropriate for your position (as opposed to morally or ethically inappropriate), the best move is to complete the task eagerly. Later, schedule a conversation with your boss to discuss your role in the company and whether your job description needs an update. This ensures that you avoid looking petty. It also enables you and your boss to develop a long-term understanding of what you should and shouldn't be doing.

9. "It's not my fault."

It's never a good idea to cast blame. Be accountable. If you had any role--no matter how small--in whatever went wrong, own it. If not, offer an objective, dispassionate explanation of what happened. Stick to the facts, and let your boss and colleagues draw their own conclusions about who's to blame.

The moment you start pointing fingers is the moment people start seeing you as someone who lacks accountability for his or her actions. This makes people nervous. Some will avoid working with you altogether, and others will strike first and blame you when something goes wrong.

10. "I can't."

I can't is it's not my fault's twisted sister. People don't like to hear I can't because they think it means I won't. Saying I can't suggests that you're not willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

If you really can't do something because you truly lack the necessary skills, you need to offer an alternative solution. Instead of saying what you can't do, say what you cando. For example, instead of saying "I can't stay late tonight," say "I can come in early tomorrow morning. Will that work?" Instead of saying "I can't run those numbers," say "I don't yet know how to run that type of analysis. Is there someone who can show me so that I can do it on my own next time?"

11. "I hate this job."

The last thing anyone wants to hear at work is people complaining about how much they hate their job. Doing so labels you as a negative person and brings down the morale of the group. Bosses are quick to catch onto naysayers who drag down morale, and they know that there are always enthusiastic replacements waiting just around the corner.

Bringing it all together

Eliminating these phrases from your vocabulary pays dividends. They have a tendency to sneak up on you, so you're going to have to catch yourself until you've solidified the habit of not saying them.

Everyone makes mistakes. But no matter how much humiliation, pain, or sadness they may cause, every misstep helps us learn and grow and ultimately be better people.

In fact, some mistakes are even necessary for your future success — and you should try to make them while you're still young.

"There is a lot of talk about how kids aren't being 'allowed' to make mistakes, and this is hurting them in the long run because they aren't building the skills necessary to deal with change and be resilient," says Michael Kerr, author of "The Humor Advantage: Why Some Businesses Are Laughing All the Way to the Bank."

"If they don't learn that failure is part of growing early on, then they may be less equipped to deal with failure later on in life," Kerr says.

Here are some necessary mistakes everyone should make before turning 30:

1. Bomb a big presentation.

"Even polished, professional speakers and public figures lay an egg now and then, and it's an important lesson to learn early: It happens, and you'll survive," says Kerr. "And you'll realize it's not the end of the world, and you'll learn a ton about what not to do and what to do next time."

2. Date the wrong person.

Whether it's the "rebound" person or just a bad choice, most everyone's done it. Discovering what you don't want early on will help you make better choices with all your important relationships, says Kerr. "It'll help you learn things about your own values and life goals that perhaps you weren't aware of."

3. Stick with a terrible job.

Even if the boss is horrible and the pay is bad, don't just give up and jump ship. Stick around for a while and try to find a solution — even if it seems like a terrible move at the time. "The way you handle yourself in this situation will forever shape the way you treat people when you're in charge," says Ryan Kahn, a career coach, founder of The Hired Group, and author of "Hired! The Guide for the Recent Grad."

4. Feel entitled, at least once.

"Assuming you were going to get that promotion or be assigned an important project or made team leader are all mistakes you should make at least once," says Kerr. "Learning from these types of mistakes will remind you to not take things for granted and to never sit back and assume something will be handed to you."

5. Hit rock bottom.

Before the wildly successful "Harry Potter" series came to life, J.K. Rowling was a single mom in her 30s on welfare, with no job, no money, and a child to raise on her own.

In a 2008 commencement speech at Harvard University, Rowling discussed how hitting rock bottom forced her to finish the first Harry Potter book. She says:

"I've often met people who are terrified — you know, in a straitjacket of their own making — because they'd rather do anything than fail. They don't want to try for fear of failing," she says. "[Hitting] rock bottom wasn't fun at all — I'm not romanticizing rock bottom — but it was liberating. What did I have to lose?"

6. Get fired.

If you're ever going to get fired, doing it in your 20s is the way to go, says Kerr. "Getting fired early on can be a brutally tough life experience, but it can serve as a huge wake-up call for change if there was a performance issue."

It may even serve notice that you were on the wrong career path — and better to learn that in your 20s than in your 40s.

"Being fired or laid off also teaches you the most valuable life lesson: That ultimately you need to take 100% control of your own destiny and develop the skills necessary to always have a viable back-up plan and take responsibility for your own life," he says.

7. Change jobs three times.

Sure, it won't look great on your résumé — but by trying out different career paths you'll gain insight into what your true calling is, says Kahn.

8. Take the wrong job for the wrong reasons.

It might be because of the money; it may be because you felt this was the only option at the time. But learning this lesson early will help you define your values and set you up for a more fulfilling career in the long run, Kerr explains.

9. Say whatever's on your mind without any regard for anyone else's feelings.

This is part of growing up and navigating relationships, both personal and professional. "Making the mistake of deeply offending someone can serve as a wake-up call to be more empathetic around others and help you develop better communication skills," says Kerr.

10. Burn bridges.

Obviously you don't want to do this frequently, but making the mistake of burning a bridge once or twice can actually be beneficial.

"It's sometimes more challenging to see the long-term consequences of our actions when we are younger, and burning bridges can come back to haunt us in substantial ways," Kerr says. "Learning to walk away from a difficult situation on a positive note with your head held high is an important lesson to carry with you throughout your life."

11. Go out with your friends, even though you have work to do.

"You'll always find ways to get that particular work project done, but you'll never find ways to retake that particular moment with friends," Kahn explains.

12. Offend someone with your humor.

This may not seem like a huge deal, says Kerr, "but navigating the minefield of appropriate humor in a business setting can be a challenge for people starting out in their careers, in extreme cases even costing them their jobs." Figuring out where those lines are and that everyone has different tastes and perceptions is a critically important skill to learn early.

13. Risk everything.

Risking everything for an uncertain career or romantic relationship might seem like a huge mistake to most people, but everyone should do it once early in their life. It can pay off. And if it doesn't, you will at least learn something from the experience, so it won't be a total loss.

14. Be passive.

"It's natural, especially when you're young, to sometimes sit back and want to please everyone in the hopes of making sure everyone gets along," says Kerr. "But being too passive and not learning to ask for what you want can lead to missed opportunities — and the earlier you learn that lesson, the better."

15. Think you have all the right answers.

This is a mistake you'll make over and over again your whole life. Each time, you'll be one step closer to realizing you're not always right — so it's best to start thinking this as early as possible.

16. Blame someone for your mistakes.

You should blame yourself or someone else at least once. It will help you realize this isn't productive.

"When something goes wrong, instead of looking for who to point the finger at, look for ways you can create solutions," says Kahn.

17. Think mistakes are always a bad thing or a personal reflection on you.

"Mistakes are life's feedback — they are research; they are part of your education; they are necessary stepping stones if you are actually putting yourself out there and growing," Kerr says. "If you aren't ever making any mistakes, then chances are you aren't taking any risks or trying anything new, and as you get older that may end up being the costliest mistake of all."

Expect Salman Khan fans to be as unique as the superstar himself! While our film industry got together to start a Bollywood Walk Of Fame to celebrate the contribution of stars in developing the world of cinema, fans of Salman Khan decided to honor their idol in their own way.

Admirers of the superstar Khan have started a 'Salman Khan' themed café titled Bhaijaanz (since Salman is fondly known as 'bhai' by his fans) in Bandra, a suburb in Mumbai. The interiors of the café have many of the elements that represent the filmy world of Salman Khan.

Starting with the wall, it is decorated with a huge portrait of Salman Khan's sketch. Though the actor currently styles himself differently, this avatar in the photo frame represents the look that Salman Khan used to sport during the Hum Saath Saath Hain days.

If that wasn't enough, keeping Salman Khan's action avatar and well built body in mind, he has been given the look of the popular superhero 'Hulk' in one of the portraits used for the decor of the cafe. Women's Access To Mobile Phones Increasing in Afghanistan

As of late 2012, 80 per cent of women in Afghanistan have regular or occasional access to mobile phones, found the Unites States Agency for International Development (USAID).

In a report released yesterday, USAID surveyed over 2000 women in Afghanistan about their access to mobile phones and the constraints they face. The study found that since 2002, when the first mobile telephone service license was issues in the country, mobile technology has grown rapidly. Almost 48 per cent of the women respondents own their own mobile phones, while another 32 per cent have occasional access to phones.

Strikingly, 67 per cent of the women who own a mobile phone acquired it in the last two years. Women under the age of 25 are the fastest growing group in this sector – 64 per cent of those who acquired a phone in the past year are under the age of 25.

Access to mobile phones is already increasing the economic and social opportunities available to women. Twenty-five per cent of the respondents who own a mobile phone use it to access services such as education, health care and income-generating opportunities.

More than 84 per cent of respondents view mobile phones as a necessity, not a luxury, and 86 per cent of women mobile phone owners believe that increased connectivity enhances women’s lives, making them more secure, better equipped to cope with emergencies, more independent, and more social.

The report revealed some key insights for mobile service providers in Afghanistan. For example, only 71 per cent of women said they are able to read an SMS. According to UNESCO, only one in five women in Afghanistan is literate. This unveils a large market for voice-based applications and services, such as interactive voice response systems, text-to-voice services, and call centres.

While 94 per cent of those who do not own mobile phones are not intimidated by the new technology, the biggest barriers to mobile ownership for women were lack of permission from family members, and the high costs associated with mobile phones. While basic feature phones cost between US$29 and $48 in Afghanistan, offering attractive packages such as installment payments or discounted rates can help reduce the digital divide between men and women.

The Afghanistan government, along with international agencies such as USAID, are accelerating the use of mobile money in the country, improving transparency in payments and expanding financial inclusion. Increased mobile access among women will bring them into this fold, and increase entrepreneurship and other commercial opportunities available to them.

Microsoft Officially Replaced Hotmail with Outlook

The software giant has completed the transition from Hotmail to the new Outlook.com. As a result, the latter now boasts over 400 million accounts overall. The representatives of the company point out that the new Outlook email application has a number of different features from Hotmail. For example, it offers two-factor authentication, an updated calendar and app, as well as integration with cloud service called Skydrive and Skype.

Experts admit that most Hotmail users won’t notice any difference, so you can continue using your account as long as you want. You can also claim an Outlook email address whenever you like. Microsoft mentioned that Hotmail had over 300 million active accounts before its closure. Thus, upgrading had meant communicating with millions of people, upgrading all the mailboxes and also making sure that everyone’s details like mail, calendar, contacts, folders, and personal preferences were all preserved during the upgrade. This process was done live and as fast as in 6 weeks.

Industry observers remind that Hotmail was one of the first Internet-based email services, created by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith in July 1996 as “HoTMaiL”. Three years later Microsoft acquired the Internet email service for about $400 million to rebrand it as “MSN Hotmail”. Finally, Outlook.com was launched three months ago, based around the company’s Metro design language. Apparently, the service closely mimics the interface of Microsoft Outlook. Now we can officially say goodbye to Hotmail, which already doesn’t exist.

Microsoft Started Open War against Google

Microsoft has finally started a nasty marketing war directly against the search giant and ended any pretence of niceness between the companies. Microsoft has released a series of attack ads in the United States that have upped the ante considerably in its trade war against Google which commenced 5 months ago.

The advertisements that have emerged on the Internet, on TV and in print demonstrate that Google is more interested in increasing profits than protecting its users’ privacy. This ad campaign was developed by a former political operative Mark Penn, a corporate strategist. He is known as a former pollster for President Bill Clinton and campaign strategist for Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful bid for president 5 years ago.

In the advertisements, Microsoft vilifies Google for sharing personal data collected about people purchasing Android applications. That’s a step up from earlier adverts that skewered Google’s long-running practice of electronically scanning the contents of everyone’s Gmail accounts in order to help sell adverts.

Microsoft points out that the company had a better alternative which doesn’t do such kind of nefarious things. Negative advertising isn’t widely seen in Europe and it’s just the underdog who needs to use it. However, it also stresses how the search engine has evolved from an endearing Internet start-up to a scary entity that takes a too close look at personal information. The software giant can get away with its adverts since Google has already been caught a few times and copped regulatory fines and other settlements across the world.

Ironically enough, it’s now Google who is facing complaints about its practices being anti-competitive. At the same time, Microsoft is depicted as fighting for a freer market. A few days ago, a group of companies led by the software giant explained that it has asked European authorities to investigate whether Google is acting unfairly by giving away its OS to mobile device manufacturers on the condition that its own apps like YouTube and Google Maps are installed and prominently displayed. The most interesting part that it’s exactly what Microsoft was accused of in its browser anti-trust cases earlier.

Thus far, the search giant processes about 2/3 of search requests in the United States and handles an even larger percentage of queries in Europe. In the meanwhile, Google’s market value has rocketed from almost $25 billion at the time of its IPO to $255 billion.

This is indeed a brilliant article and needs to be read again and again ...

Here is a list of 15 things, which, if you give up on them, will make your life a lot easier and you'll feel much, much happier. We hold on to so many things that cause us a great deal of pain, stress and suffering and instead of letting them all go and allowing ourselves to be stress-free and happy, we cling on to them.

Well, not anymore. Starting today, we will give up on all those things that no longer serve us, and we will embrace change. Ready? Here we go!

1. Give up your need to always be right. There are so many of us who can't stand the idea of being wrong wanting to always be right even at the risk of ending great relationships or causing a great deal of stress and pain for us and for others. It's just not worth it. Whenever you feel the 'urgent' need to jump into a fight over who is right and who is wrong, ask yourself this question from Dr. Wayne Dyer: 'Would I rather be right, or would I rather be kind?' 2. Give up your need for control. 6. Give up complaining. Give up your constant need to complain about those many, many, many things people, situations and events that make you unhappy, sad and depressed. But, you have to take into consideration the fact that the present moment is all you have and all you will ever have. The past you are now longing for the past that you are now dreaming about was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Be present in everything you do and enjoy life. After all, life is a journey not a destination. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now.

14. Give up attachment. This is a concept that, for most of us, is so hard to grasp and I have to tell you that it was for me too (it still is), but it's not impossible. You get better and better at it with time and practice. The moment you detach yourself from all things (and that doesn't mean you give up your love for them because love and attachment have nothing to do with one another. Attachment comes from a place of fear, while love well, real love is pure, kind, and selfless; where there is love there can't be fear, and because of that, attachment and love cannot co-exist) you become so peaceful, so tolerant, so kind, and so serene. You will get to a place where you will be able to understand all things without even trying. A state beyond words.

15. Give up living your life to other people's expectations. Way too many people are living a life that is not theirs to live. They live their lives according to what others think is best for them; they live their lives according to what their parents think is best for them; to what their friends, their enemies and their teachers, their government and the media think is best for them. They ignore their inner voice, that inner calling. They are so busy with pleasing everybody, with living up to other people's expectations, that they lose control over their lives. They forget what makes them happy, what they want, what they need and eventually, they forget about themselves. You have one life this one right now you must live it, own it, and especially don't let other people's opinions distract you from your path.

Google Will Make Talking Shoes

The search giant wants developers to design a concept for a set of talking shoes. Google has released a video of what it wants, which went viral with some of the Italian media which announced that the company had already invented a set of talking shoes.

In reality, it was just an advertising experiment, where the company teamed up with Art, Copy & Code in order to develop “a series of experiments to re-imagine advertising”. A few days ago the partners decided to make a set of talking shoes. At this point the reality gets a bit tricky to handle – indeed, if you look at a lot of the copy penned over the weekend, you can mistakenly think that the shoes have already been made.

One of the prototypes is the sneakers (Adidas high-tops), which work with an accelerometer, gyroscope and Bluetooth and also have built-in speakers inside both tongues of the shoes. The search engine claimed that by connecting a pair of sneakers to the Internet, it was creating unique opportunities between physical objects and digital ad spaces.

In fact, every move made by the user generates information which is captured by an accelerometer, gyroscope and pressure sensors. This information then is pushed to a web app on the user’s mobile device and results in real-time into funny and motivating commentary. Such commentary is then pushed to banners and social media, creating innovative and attracting content in the digital world from something happening live in the physical world.

That is an undoubtedly interesting idea – just imagine your feet talking to Google and serving up advertising. Perhaps, soon we’ll live in a world where Google tells us that we get no chance of scoring unless we change our socks, and recommends the nearest place to buy some. On the other hand, that is the price of staying instep with fashion.

First Tablet for Women is Introduced

One of the tablet-making outfits came to a conclusion that there are huge amounts of cash to be made by patronizing women. The company has carried out a research to find out “what women want” and introduced “the first tablet specifically for ladies”.

The device dubbed ePad Femme is 8-inches and is pre-loaded with yoga, grocery shopping and cooking apps. It even has a clothing size converter app. The company believes that it’s the sort of thing that modern women are interested in – no business issues, no relationships… All women of today seem to be housewives.

The device has received a marketing push this past February as “the perfect Valentine’s Day gift”. Well, there might be some women who are looking forward to replicating the life of their grandparents, but we doubt there are many. The device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a light pink screen saver (apparently, pink is blondes’ favorite color).

The company claims that its new device makes a perfect gadget for women who might experience difficulties in downloading such apps and it is a quick reference. In the meanwhile, the tablet carries a 1.5GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, and an SD card slot – hopefully, housewives will be able to understand what any of this means.

The company also insists that the intent of the ePad Femme tablet wasn’t sexist. After all, the gamers have their gaming tablets that are geared to a specific interest, right? As for the ePad Femme, its price is as low as $190, which is far less than the iPad and about the same as a Nexus 7. Thus far, the company has sold only about 7,000 units, which doesn’t make it a great seller. Taking into account all the specifics, the market observers are not surprised.

Jehad: Its True Meaning and Purpose

Jehad is never a tool of waging war against the innocents; it's never a means of flexing muscles or bullying the weak and oppressed. Jehad in Islam is something unique, established to defend the divine message from being eliminated or hindered by its enemies. Shedding more light on the true concept of Jehad, here is the statement made by Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi, president of the Fiqh Council of North America, states.

Allah says, (And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive (with sincerity and under discipline). He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the religion of your father Abraham. It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and you be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah! He is your Protector, the best to protect and the Best to help!) (Al-Hajj 22: 78)

Jehad is one of the most misunderstood, and abused aspects of Islam. There are some Muslims who exploit and misuse this concept for their own political objectives. There are many non-Muslims who misunderstand it. There are some non-Muslims who misinterpret it to discredit Islam and Muslims.

What is Jehad?

The word Jehad does not mean "Holy War". It means "struggle" or "striving.

The word for war in the Qur'an is "Harb" or "Qital. Jehad means serious and sincere struggle on the personal as well as on the social level. It is a struggle to do good and to remove injustice, oppression and evil from the society. This struggle should be spiritual as well as social, economic and political. Jehad is to work hard to do right things. In the Qur'an this word is used in its different forms 33 times. It often comes with other Qur'anic concepts such as faith, repentance, righteous deeds and migration.

Jehad is to protect one's faith and one's human rights. Jehad is not a war always although it can take the form of war. Islam is the religion of peace, but it does not mean that Islam accepts oppression. Islam teaches that one should do one's utmost to eliminate tension and conflict. Islam promotes non-violent means to bring change and reform.

Actually, Islam urges that one should eliminate evil through peaceful means without the use of force as much as possible. In Islamic history from the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) until now, Muslims most of the time resisted oppression and struggled for liberation in non-violent and peaceful manners.

Islam teaches proper ethics in the situation of war also. The war is permissible in Islam, but only when other peaceful means such as dialogue, negotiations and treaties fail. It is a last resort and should be avoided as much as possible. Its purpose is not to convert people by force, or to colonize people or to acquire land or wealth or for self-glory.

Its purpose is basically: defense of life, property, land, honor and freedom for oneself as well as defense of others from injustice and oppression.

The basic rules of war in Islam are:

1. Be strong so that your enemy fear you and should not attack you.

2. Do not begin the hostilities. Work for peace as much as possible.

3. Fight only those who fight, no collective punishment; non-combatants should not be harmed. Weapons of mass destruction should not be used.

4. Stop hostilities as soon as the other party is inclined to peace.

5. Observe the treaties and agreements as long as the enemy observes them.

Allah says very clearly: (Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not do aggression, for Allah loves not the aggressors.) (Al-Baqarah 2: 190)

(The prohibited month, for the prohibited month, and so for all things prohibited, there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him. But fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.) (Al-Baqarah 2: 194)

Jehad is not terrorism:

It is to be emphasized that terrorism against the innocent civilians, whether through aggression or suicidal means, is under no circumstances permissible in Islam. Islam encourages the oppressed people to struggle for their liberation and it commands other Muslims to help those who are oppressed and suffering, but Islam does not allow, under any circumstance, terrorism against non-combatants and innocent people.

Terrorism is not Jihad, it is Fasad (mischief)

It is against the teachings of Islam. There are some people who use their twisted arguments to justify terrorism for their causes, but it has no justification:

Allah says: (When it is said to them: 'Make not mischief on the earth,' they say: 'Why, we only want to correct things.' Indeed they are the mischief doers, but they realize (it) not.) (Al-Baqarah 2: 11-12)

Islam wants to establish a world order where all human beings - Muslims and non-Muslims - can live with justice in peace, harmony and good will. It gives its followers full guidelines to find peace in their personal and social lives, but it also tells them how to extend the good will on the basis of human relations towards others. Muslims worked under these principles for centuries. People of many faiths lived with them and among them. Islamic societies were known for their tolerance, generosity and humanity.

In our modern society where we are living in a global village, where non-Muslims are living with Muslims in the Muslim countries and Muslims are living with non-Muslims in countries where non-Muslims constitute a majority, it is our duty to bring better understanding among ourselves, work for peace and justice for all people and cooperate with each other in matters of goodness and virtue in order to stop all terrorism, aggression and violence against the innocent people. This is our Jehad today.

Masjid of Sheikh Zayd - one of the six largest mosques in the world, is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates. Named in honor of Sheikh Zaid ibn Sultan al-Nahyan - the founder and first president of the United Arab Emirates. Next he is buried. The mosque was officially opened in the month of Ramadan in 2007. Like all of the Emirates, this mosque is also very-very - it is the largest carpet and the world's largest chandelier. This is one of the most beautiful mosques in which I visited.The four corners of the mosque are four minarets that rise approximately 115 meters.

Tony Blair's sister-in-law has converted to Islam after having what she describes as a "holy experience" during a visit to Iran. Journalist and broadcaster Lauren Booth, 43 Cherie Blair's sister now wears a hijab whenever she leaves her home, prays five times a day and visits her local mosque whenever she can.

She decided to become a Muslim six weeks ago after visiting the shrine of Fatima al-Masumeh in the city of Qom. "It was a Tuesday evening and I sat down and felt this shot of spiritual morphine, just absolute bliss and joy," she said in an interview today. When she returned to Britain, she decided to convert immediately.

Booth who works for Press TV, the English-language Iranian news channel has stopped eating pork and reads the Qur'an every day. She is currently on page 60. Booth has stopped drinking alcohol and says she has not wanted to drink since converting. Before her spiritual awakening in Iran, she had been "sympathetic" to Islam and has spent considerable time working in Palestine, she said, adding that she hoped her conversion would help Blair change his presumptions about Islam.
