Draw Something, Draw Everything

I wrote about OMGPOP two years ago since I became addicted with the game. Everyone was playing it in the university computer lab, even one of the comment I got from the post I wrote:

The world needs a magical device, and we are introducing SMILE

It seems hard to visualize how smile can change the world, but it is. It is magical! So, start smiling :)

Ron Gutman started his book with an introductory on how smile become a universal language when you travel abroad. In can be used to start conversation with anyone, anywhere! So, smile is a (1) powerful ice breaking tool.

(2) Smile is more than video games, TV. It activates emotional processing mechanism the same way TV and video games does, but with a simple smile!

When a woman makes an eye contact with a man, chances are man already 20% attracted to the woman. But, with a beaming smile, chances increase to 60%. I can't deny this because it happens to me once significantly and maybe even more that I didn't notice.

Smile is money! In business perspective, smile improved how attractive our ideas look to others when we present them. Besides that, drawing smileys on checks proved to get more tips from customers in restaurant. One smile can generate the pleasure similar to eating 2,000 bars of chocolate. If you turn that into money, just by smiling more, (3) you can be Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. "Your smile for your brother is charity" (Fiqh us-Sunnah, Vol 3, Number 98) is quoted in Ron Gutman's book.

In a hadith, Jarir ibn Abdullah said, "The Prophet did not screen himself from me (had never prevented me from entering upon him) since I embraced Islam, and whenever he saw me, he would receive me with a smile. " (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 73, Number 112).

The simplest equation is (4) (smile + frown = smile). It's really difficult to frown when looking at someone who smiles. You smile -> You look and feel good -> Others see you smile -> They mimic and smile -> They look and feel good -> You smile (Repeat!)

So, how hard is it to start a conversation? How satisfied are you with hours of games? How much do you spend for snacks or bars that can make you pleasure? How often you smile while talking with friends, business partners and foes? If you want to live better in this revolutionary world, SMILE!

B. Success in Relations

Success isn't that hard

1. Define your roles in life

You have to define the roles that you hold in your life. You will have a family, friends, organization, community, teammates, house mates, and most importantly, Creator. Remember, as in the previous equation (the formula of success within us), we are responsible for what we have control of. Thus, we have to play our prominent role in order to do the best to fulfill our responsibilities in this groups.

2. Control your behavior

Your behavior affects those surround you, so control yourself the best you can. Never think that shouting or getting angry is the best solution, or even a good solution for solving things or dealing with egos. Also, don't promise until you sure you want to do. This is important because if someone wants to hire you for a job, or if you want to benefit from someone, people want to see 'trust in you. Behave ethically! Don't cheat in anything you do, even in exams. If you are asked whether you have cheated in exam even one time in your life, would you say no? If no, good! Credibility and trustworthy are what may upgrade yourself in others view.

Success can be defined as the balance of spirit, mind, emotions, and body. The performance indicator of success is high performance in self, relations, production, and hereafter.

A. Success Within You

1. Responsible for whatever happen to you

We are responsible for whatever happen to us, to say, whatever happen to us is whatever we have control of. We will not be judged for what we don't have control of, therefore are not responsible for that. However, most people regret on what they don't have control of. For example, if we are created for some reason, not so good-looking, it is fair to say that it is something that cannot be changed, there's no point to regret. Or, something that happen to us, such as fate or 'takdir'. We are out of control of this. In addition, when people regret, they usually try to blame others although they are responsible for whatever they do.

2. Know your strengths and weaknesses

Research shows that the highest increment that a person can have in strength is 20%, to prove, that if a person is really weak in some particular aspects, the highest he or she can go is the average. However, it is not to say that there will have no chance at all to become outstanding. Thus, to overcome our weakness, one of the best solutions is to surround and mingle yourself with those who are strong in the areas of your weakness.

3. Have a strong will

How's training can really be effective to a person. According to some research done, for person more than 65 years, training is worthless, 24-64 years, 12% effective and 20% partially effective. But for 15-25 years, 20% effective and 20% partially effective. Thus, it is best to say that, at the young age, give training as much as possible, and as the skills gathered, it can be easily applied in the older age. And, it is also important to know that what is important is believing, not the knowledge. Believe that you can change.

4. Be proactive

Stop using reactive word is the first advice. Be proactive! Remember, you don't fail until you quit. A millionaire from Texas, was asked on how he became a millionaire. He said, "There are two things that I use in order to become a millionaire, do you want to know?". The questioner replied, "Of course, yes". He then said, "The first thing I did in order to become a millionaire is I decided really to become a millionaire," Then he continued, "The second thing I did to become a millionaire is I try to become a millionaire". So, the fundamental here is, first, decide to, and second, try to.

I have never thought OMGPOP has become a madness that waste a lot of times. They have great games, though. Here, I am not promoting this game, so that I will not be blamed for bringing you into madness, however, I will introduce some games in OMGPOP:

1. Letterblox (Rating: 4/5)

Learn urself to be less dumb. From a given 6 letters, you have to combine the letters to make as many words as you can. Find rare words and 6 letter words to get extra points. Press space when you are stuck to reshuffle the words.

2. Draw My Thing (Rating: 5/5)

It's the drawing game! You draw, and the other players guess for your drawing. Then, they draw and you guess. A very good game for creativity. Guess the very unique drawing of a different people worldwide.

3. Blockles (Rating: 5/5)

I eat babies. Connect four or more to break blocks and send garbage to your opponent. It's quite similar with popular old game like tetris except that you have item that you can use to make your condition better or make your opponent worse. The best item all the time is "Swap".

4. Hover Cart Racing (Rating: 4.5/5)

#1 Party game of the year. Race your friend and others and attack them using hover missile, mine, bomb in the game. This makes the game more challenging and interesting.

There are some other interesting games like Hover Cart Battle, Balloono, Checkers etc.

In the period of one month this blog was not been updated, I continuously monitor the FEEDJIT Live widget in the sidebar.

I recognize that although I have left this blog for a month, the blog still receive a lot of visitors which came from search engine (mostly from Google Search). So, my blog actually receive traffic from the search engine from the entire world.

Thus, I can conclude that the most important thing in order to keep your blog momentum other than to keep updating your blog is to post original, good quality posts where it is mostly likely been searched from the users. The more unique it is, the higher you will indexed in the search engine.

Just now, I have an APS seminar with the General Manager of Transportation Services for the City of Toronto, Gary Welsh. We discussed on, what difference would it be in the traveling system the next 30 years?

Let go back 30 years ago, people never expect what would happen in the next 30 years. People didn't expect that we can have cellphones, fast internet, color television, and computer today.

Now, let's thinks backward. What would happen if Google exists 30 years ago? I found a picture of Google Classic like this, maybe it would be like this...

Mobile Phone Chess Clock

Are you searching for analog or digital chess clock? Tired of waiting while playing with your deep thinking brother? Now, you can have it for free. You can also train yourself according to certain timing.

Previously I have posted on Chess Clock for Free basically for Windows. This want is great, but you will need to your laptop bring everywhere you want to play chess.

These applications works with all cell phones with java. Just download the file to your PC, unzip and send to .jar file to your phone using bluetooth, infrared or USB cable.

1 - MobileChessClock

MobileChessClock is released in 2005 by Tomas Hubalek [Hubalek]. MobileChessClock can set different time for two different players. Only button number 6 is used to switch between players, but the sound when switching mimics real sound when pressing the real analog chess clock! I prefer MobileChessClock than ChessGoClock. Free!

2 - ChessGoClock

ChessGoClock is released by rainer_blind@gmx.de in February 2006. The difference with MobileChessClock is ChessGoClock has Fisher timer set up and it is easier to set up time. Time can only be set up once, same for both players, however, switching players in this application is much better, where one player use the left side button, while the other player use the right side button. But, no sound! Also free.

Now, you can add label cloud to your blog in 10 seconds (depending on internet speed connection also). You don't need to copy any javascript and paste into your html code.

What you have to do is to go to Layout > Add a Gadget > Label

Then, you have the choice to choose list view or cloud view. Check the cloud view button. You've successfully added label cloud in 10 seconds!

You can customize, and the best of its features is you can choose which labels to display.

Elontirien, a comic artist, on deviantART, illustrated popular websites as different types of people. Through several criticism, you can analyze why Elontirien portray them in such ways.

Facebook with cool thumb up, Twitter as a small kid, Myspace with a headphone, Wikipedia as a specky kid, DeviantART as a girl, Youtube with emotional action, and Google as a nerd.

An artist commented this picture as "Internet University", where all the students and faculty are personified famous websites.
