Sunshine and we tasted pain,

till the flood swept clean our way.

bare-boned, yet so smug and sure-

Living alone is liberating. But it can land a crowd in your head.

And there you are in a small, stuffy room, enjoying a little solitude when you realize

that being completely alone would take more hard work than just that.

People can speak through thoughts. Trains can hide behind your eardrums and hoot exactly when
you do not want to think about them. Places can pretend to be far, far away while popping up
sudden and uninvited at the back of your eye lids.

And then there are always fliers that can slide through from below the door,
flatmates that might knock for key exchanges, and crushed looking spiders
that look like they know you inside out.

What is strange about this city, though, is the fact that solitude and loneliness can no longer be told apart. What is empty is unusual, what is bland is cherished. But who is to be blamed?

In a world devoid of darkness, even the most avid light-lover seeks some shut-eye.

Consider this my social nap. I am off to capture more.

Also, above are four 4 x 4 inches tiles each picture, at least an year apart from the other. All taken with little or no thought. but I get a feeling of nostalgia now that they seem to fit in so well together.

Lucky for my wall, these tiles had nowhere else to go :P
