I am a firm believer that laughter, and a positive disposition, is good medicine for your body, mind, and spirit.

And, it just so happens that medical science has documentation to back that up.

According to studies, laughter:[1] [2]

Enhances your intake of oxygen rich air

Improves immunity

Stimulates your heart

Increases endorphins

Relieves pain

Improves your mood

In my daily experiences, I laugh a lot.

Not inappropriately, of course. I don’t laugh at people in pain, or at the horrors that are happening in the world.

But, I do love to laugh, and I love poking fun at all of the things that seem ludicrous to me.

My ability to enjoy life and laugh often, angers some folks on my social media feeds. They don’t find me to be funny.

Those folks question why I’m giggling or laughing about something serious like “medical science” or the constantly changing health advice coming from the “experts.”

Angry people call me stupid or refer to me as a Quack.

But, guess what?

Those kind of comments just give me more fuel for the funny fire.

And, I’ll post a snarky response like this one on Instagram:

Whether you are laughing and enjoying life, or stuck in the muck and mire and angry about everything, we are all just having our experiences while we are here.

I’m sending you love and laughter to lighten your load and potentially (according to the science) improve your mood and help you heal.

Have a great day!

Everywhere I turn, people are talking about taking peptides.

Friends, family, influencers, trainers… it seems like almost everyone is using them.

If you don’t know what a peptide is, here’s the skinny:

Peptides are short chain amino acids. The are essentially mini-proteins that acts as cellular messengers. They bind to receptors on cell surfaces to direct actions like tissue repair, immune defense, hormone regulation, digestion, and inflammation.[1]

Here are some examples of the most common peptides and what they do:

BPC-157 for healing

CJC-1295 for growth hormone support

GHK-Cu for skin health

TB-500 for tissue repair

GLP-1 for metabolic health and weight loss

These latest injectables have made their way into the marketplace and into people’s bodies.

Many folks are touting their amazing benefits. And, that’s a good thing.

But, and here’s the big BUTT…

Did you know your body naturally makes peptides to support your health and vitality?

It’s true.

Here are some of the many peptides your body creates:

Insulin: Made by your pancreas, controls blood sugar levels by telling cells to absorb glucose.

Glucagon: Raises blood sugar by prompting the liver to release stored glucose.

GLP-1 (Glucagon-like peptide-1): Signals fullness after eating and triggers insulin release.

Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH): Stimulates the pituitary gland to release growth hormone.

Oxytocin: Manages uterine contractions, milk release, and social attachment/bonding.

Endorphins and Enkephalins: Natural painkillers and mood elevators.

Substance P: Transmits pain signals from sensory nerves to the brain.

Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs): Found in your skin to fight bacteria, viruses, and fungi while helping with skin barrier repair and wound healing.

Holy cow! It looks like the human body is the most AMAZING peptide producing facility.

And, your body’s ability to internally make these peptides and release them for your use is FREE.

Well… not exactly.

Your body builds peptides using raw materials from the protein you eat.[2]

Which basically means, you need to support your body with the right ingredients and nutrients to create peptides.

But, and here’s another big BUTT…

You could eat enough dietary protein, but if your digestive system is compromised and/or unhealthy, you won’t be able to breakdown and absorb the nutrients/proteins needed to build those peptides.

This certainly is a conundrum because a large percentage of people in the world struggle with gut imbalances. Especially, in America, where I live.

“Globally, more than 2.8 billion people suffer from digestive diseases, and over 40% of the world’s population lives with functional gastrointestinal disorders. In the United States alone, approximately 60 to 70 million individuals are affected by diagnosed digestive diseases each year”[3]

With those unhealthy digestive statistics, if you want to insure that you have the ability to create your own peptide processing factory inside your body, you’ve got to support the health of your gut.

You can learn more about supporting gut health here: Without Good Digestion, You Won’t Absorb Nutrients

And, for those of you that are currently taking external synthetic peptides, here’s something to consider…

Once you begin taking the supplemental peptides, you create a feedback loop inside your body, that STOPS your body from creating its own peptides.

What?!

Yep, that’s how it works.

External or synthetic peptide supplements tell your brain that you already have enough, and that pauses your body’s own output.

You literally shut down your body’s peptide factory.

Personally, that doesn’t work for me.

Instead, I let my body do what it’s designed to do; create peptides.

And, this is how it’s done:

Support digestive health.

Eat great quality foods (protein), that are prepared well and easy to digest.

Reduce stress (high stress negatively impacts digestion and overall health).

With the right support, your beautiful body can create all of the peptides it needs for wellness and vitality.

During the summer months, the fruit share I purchased from my community supported agriculture (Stoneledge Farm), provides me with way more peaches than my family and I can eat before they start to break down.

The peaches you purchase in the grocery store are often picked unripe – that’s why they often get mealy and don’t taste very sweet.

But, the peaches I get directly from the farm are picked at the peak of ripeness. They are bursting with juicy sweetness that dribbles down your face when you take a bite!

Peaches are delicate fruits with a thin skin, so they don’t last long after they’ve ripened.

So, what can I do with all of the sweet peaches before they decay?

Make a yummy peach cobbler, of course!

They came out totally delish!

But, to give them some flair, I decided to call them by their fancy French name: Courgette Fritters.

Courgette is the French word for green summer squash (aka Zucchini).

Enjoy the fritters… whatever you decide to call them!

There’s a LOT of buzz on the internet and in the media about the explosion of tick populations and Lyme Disease – especially where I live on the east coast of the United States.

But, is what you are seeing and hearing in the media true? Or is it another media manipulation to make you afraid to go outside and enjoy nature?

I’ll give you an example.

I was at a retreat in Montana participating in a traditional sweat lodge. This is a spiritual practice used by Native Americans and Indigenous people around the world that uses intense heat and darkness to promote both physical and spiritual healing.

It’s akin to a VERY hot sauna (between 110 and 150 degrees) and participants sit through three or four rounds inside the sweat lodge. It pushes your body, mind, and spirit to the edge – so to speak.

The sweat lodge can clear your system physically as you are sweating your brains out (literally and figuratively), and it can help you find clarity and insight, spiritually and emotionally, while you sit in the dark without any distractions.

During the first round of the sweat lodge, the woman sitting next to me, yelled for someone to open the flap. She said she needed to get out because when she gets too hot, she becomes dizzy and throws up. The flap opened, the light streamed in, and she was let out of the lodge while we closed it and continued.

After the first round ended, the door opened and she came back in to try it again.

Before the door closed, enveloping us in darkness, I noticed she was wearing long white sweat socks. Not only was this an odd thing to wear inside a sweat lodge, it was also the middle of summer.

I said to her, “If you take your socks off and let your feet touch the grass and the earth, it’ll help you feel more grounded and bring the heat down while you’re going through this healing process.”

She said, “No, absolutely not! I can’t take my socks off. There are ticks in the grass, and I don’t want to catch Lyme Disease.”

To be nervous about ticks is a valid concern when you’re out in nature, but we were sitting inside a sweat lodge.

Ticks can’t survive that kind of heat. When the heats gets above 95 degrees ticks can dehydrate and die. That’s one of the reasons why experts recommend you remove your clothes after you’ve been out in tick-infested areas and put them into a dryer on high heat.

Not only can ticks NOT survive in that kind of heat, but the spirochete, Borrelia burgdorferi (tick-borne obligate parasite that causes Lyme disease), cannot survive in that heat either.

“Researchers identified in 2017 that Borrelia Burgdorferi has a low tolerance for high temperatures. More specifically, they discovered that at 102.2° F spirochetes became immobile, at 104° F they shed their outer membrane, and at 106.9° F for two hours, 100% of the bacteria died.”[1]

So, the gal with the tube socks on was in the right place (a sweat lodge), and at the right temperature (hot as heck!), to kill the ticks and Lyme bacteria at the same time.

To help keep you fearless and enjoying the great outdoors with your socks on or off, let’s look at some facts about Lyme Disease.

First and foremost, Lyme Disease is not the only infectious disease carried and spread by ticks.[2] [3]

Babesia: a malaria-like parasitic infection that attacks red blood cells, resulting in bloody urine, anemia, and hepatitis.

Rocky Mountain Spotted fever: the bacteria causes high fevers, headaches, pain in the limbs, skin rashes, and meningitis

Ehrlichiosis: bacterial infection that causes headaches, chills and muscle pain. It infects and kills white blood cells.

Early Summer Meningoencephalitis (ESME): flu-like with symptoms that include headache, sore limbs and fever. It can turn into meningitis.

Alpha Gal Syndrome: allergic condition triggered by the bite of a lone-star tick that transmits a sugar molecule into the host, causing the immune system to develop antibodies that over-react to consumption of dairy and meat. Symptoms include digestive distress (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain), hives, itching, and swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat.

Besides the above conditions, Lyme disease is the most common tick-borne disease carried by ticks in the entire world.

Some symptoms of Lyme Disease include[4] [5]:

Bulls eye rash – between 50-80% of people develop a rash that starts out as a small red dot and an outer ring that expands outward as the bacteria spreads

Headache and fever

Chronic Fatigue

Enlarged lymph nodes

Stiff neck

Facial palsy/Bells palsy — loss of muscle tone in one or both sides of the face

Arthritis and swelling in the joints

Muscle, tendon, and bone pain

Low vitamin D

Poor immunity

Nerve pain

Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet

Heart palpitations, anxiety and panic attacks

Depression and mood disorders

I didn’t experience the classic bulls-eye rash when I had Lyme in 2012 through 2013, but I had 12 of the 14 symptoms listed above.

Interestingly, Lyme has been dubbed the great imitator because its symptoms overlap with so many other conditions: Lupus, MS, Parkinson’s, ALS, Rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Autoimmune conditions, and others.

Unfortunately, testing for Lyme is wildly inaccurate. Early Lyme cases are often mid-diagnosed because standard tests detect antibodies, which take 4 to 6 weeks to develop. Up to 50% of Lyme tests return false negatives.[6]

Once the Borrelia has invaded the body, it can be even harder to detect because it burrows in and evades the immune system.

“Borrelia burgdorferi is a remarkably sophisticated pathogen that employs multiple strategies to outsmart the immune system. By constantly changing its surface proteins, hiding within the body’s tissues, and forming resilient, antibiotic-tolerant clusters, the bacteria can cause chronic, long-term infections in the skin, joints, brain, and nervous system.”[7] [8]

Even if you catch Lyme Disease early, and take the recommended treatment of antibiotics, the infection can still persist undetectable inside your system.[9]

Holy crap! That’s one stealthy little bacterium that you don’t want roaming around inside your body and mind.

The best thing to do would be to prevent the bacteria from entering your system in the first place, before it gets a hold of you.

The first bit of good news is that not ALL ticks carry Lyme disease. Just because you get bit by a tick does NOT automatically mean you will get afflicted with Lyme disease.

The second thing to understand is that the tick needs to be attached and sucking blood for many hours before it can transmit the contents of its digestive system (where the Borrelia burgdorferi lives) into the host that it’s feeding on (you).

“In most cases, a tick must be attached for 36 to 48 hours or more before the Lyme disease bacterium can be transmitted. If you remove it within 24 hours, the risk is greatly reduced.”[10]

That means one of the best ways to prevent Lyme disease is to do a tick check.

When I was growing up in the 1970’s my parents would take us hiking upstate New York. Every time we returned home, my mother would check our scalps, underarms, and groin for ticks. She didn’t know any of the science about Lyme disease.

Heck, it hadn’t even been discovered and named until 1975, but she knew to do a tick check.

Ticks aren’t new to our environment, they’ve been around way longer than we have (about 100 million years).

And, if you do find a tick embedded in your skin, do NOT remove it by squeezing it with a tweezer. Squeezing the tick will cause it to expel the contents of its stomach directly into your skin while it’s still attached.

Purchase a tick hook or tick remover and pull the tick straight out.

You can also soak a Q-tip or cotton swab with Echinacea tincture, and place it on top of the tick and spin it to help release the tick from the skin.

Once the tick is removed, dab echinacea directly onto the bite site.

As an added precaution, get your body into a very hot sauna or steam room to kill the bacteria at the surface before it fully enters your system.

As mentioned at the top of this article, if you have been hiking or walking in a tick-infested area, throw your clothes into a hot dryer for 45-50 minutes to kill any ticks that are clinging to your clothing.

And, if you were like me, and didn’t find a tick on your body, or you didn’t get the classic bulls-eye rash, you’ll need a deeper dive into healing Lyme disease. You can learn more about that in this Article: My Journey Healing Lyme Disease

Or you can save yourself time, energy, and money, by joining my Health is Wealth Community to watch my Prevent and Heal Lyme Disease Naturally class.

You’ll also get the unparalleled support you need to optimize your detoxification systems to heal Lyme and feel your best.

During the hot summer months, I love a crisp, crunchy, and refreshing, Caesar salad made with Romaine Lettuce.

Funny enough, many years ago someone in the health and wellness arena (another health coach) attacked my choice of using Romaine lettuce in a salad.

She said, “How can you call yourself a health coach? You shouldn’t recommend romaine lettuce to anyone! Kale is by far a superior leafy green.”

I understood where she was coming from, but I disagreed with her.

It’s trendy in health and wellness to hop on the latest food fad and eat the thing that supposedly has the most nutrients and is the best thing since sliced sourdough bread.

But, the truth is, we need to rotate our foods as the seasons change, and NOT eat the same plants (like kale) over and over again.

Your body, especially your gut, needs diversity of plants and other foods to function at its best.

I covered that here: If you eat Kale all year, it could damage your body.

The lowly lettuces that have been kicked to the curb by most health zealots, are generally light, refreshing, and easy to digest. They are also hydrating (due to their high water content), low-calorie, and are packed with vitamins A, C, K, and folate.

That means, lettuces are not inferior, they’re just different.

And, I can guarantee that your body will enjoy a crisp and cool lettuce salad on a hot summer day better than a chewy, heavy, mouthful of nutrient-dense kale.

There are a wide variety of lettuces to choose from.

Below a list of some of the yummy lettuces I get from my local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).

During the hot summer months, as the temperature rises, it’s easy to get overheated. And, if that happens, it can negatively impact your health.

If you don’t hydrate and cool your system, you run the risk of dehydration, fainting, headaches, dizziness, electrolyte imbalance, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. Yikes!

So, what you can you do?

If you reach for an excessively sweet sugary soft drink, that can make you feel even thirstier and less hydrated. The high sugar and caffeine content in most soft drinks, pulls water from your cells to process the sugar and caffeine.

Instead, here is my go-to summer drink to cool and hydrate your body naturally and deliciously: Hydrating Hibiscus and Rose Iced Tea

Hibiscus flowers have long been used in Ayurvedic medicine and in Middle Eastern cultures to make a sour cooling tea in the summer. According to herbalist, Matthew Wood, “the sour fruit acids almost invariably reduce heat, excitation, or overstimulation of the cells.”[1]

And, rose is a classic remedy for cooling inflammation and heat. You can use rose petals or the rose hips (fruit of the rose), in this recipe.

This summer cooler is sour, like lemonade. I like to sweeten it with a little bit of honey.

Pour yourself a tall glass and enjoy!

I hosted a “live” Eliminate Parasites Naturally class that was very well received by the attendees.

But, when I uploaded the recording to YouTube to share it with a wider audience, it was removed very quickly.

Why do you think it was removed?

Below is the corresponding email I received from YouTube telling me why they removed my video from the public’s eye:

So I watched the example of “medical misinformation” they cited at 00:55:29, that contradicted health authorities at YouTube.

At that specific time stamp I was showing viewers the inside of my Health is Wealth Community, where to find our parasite cleanse, plus our upcoming LIVE events.

One of the events included a Naturopathic Doctor who was invited to speak privately with our members about holistic remedies for cancer.

Natural cancer treatments are aggressively censored on YouTube.

You can’t speak about it, you can’t share it, you can’t mention it, nothing, nada, zippo. BIG no-no (envision the gatekeepers wagging a disparaging finger at me… like this fella below).

I broke the rules and my YouTube channel was negatively impacted by that decision.

That’s okay.

I will continue to share alternative healing perspectives so people can make educated decisions (without being bullied) on what they can do to support their health without destroying their body.

Personally, I believe that both chemotherapy and radiation are archaic and brutal treatments for cancer.

Those treatments should be questioned and labeled as “health misinformation” because they don’t actually heal anything.

But, those allopathic treatments are NOT questioned.

They are the norm.

They are the only cancer treatment the public is allowed to see or hear.

AND…

They are dangerous to health.

They can weaken and damage your immune system.

How can you heal anything, even a small cut on your finger, if your immune system is not optimized? Let alone something bigger like cancer.

If you are ready to experience better health and happiness, without being censored, canceled, or live in fear of every disease the powers-that-be want to frighten you with, hop into my Health is Wealth Community.

Trust me… it’s a breath of fresh air that not filled with the stench of censorship.
