Dean & Marjanie :: I do!

Dean & Marjanie met when they both started working for the same company. If I recall the story correctly, Dean had to do a bit of Facebook stalking before he caught Marjanie’s attention, but once he had it, she was all his…literally!

I loved capturing their memories and every time I look at Dean laughing during his older brother’s speech, I can’t help but laugh out loud myself.

Dean & Marjanie, here’s to many more coffees / bottles of red wine we’re hopfully going to share in future!

Jacques & Chrizaan :: Forever Yours

I know Chrizaan through my SIL Ilze and I always secretly hoped she would one day ask me to take her wedding photos the day she gets married – she is a natural beauty with a sparkling personality and fantastic smile so I always figured it would be a pleasure and easy task to photograph her. When I was introduced to Jacques, I prayed even harder to be their wedding photographer of choice, as they make a stunning couple!

Well my ‘dream’ came true, as you’ll see below (here are a couple of photos of their engagement session we shot in November 2012)

The very talented Juanette from DeAnna Photography assisted me on the day of their wedding and captured the “groom and grooms men getting ready” photos – it was a real pleasure working with her and she managed to get some killer photos throughout the day, of which quite a few are shown below.

Chrisjan & Jaak, it was an honour being part of your wedding day and having been able to capture your memories – may you love each other always, more and more with each passing day!

Oh man, this post is loooong overdue…I’ve been meaning to add the Botha family’s photos to my blog since the beginning of the year now, but it’s been a crazy first couple of months this year and can you believe we’re almost in April already?!

Jacques & Chrizaan :: e-session

Jacques and Chrizaan are tying the knot on 23 February 2013 and we got together for an engagement session (e-session) at Kimiad golf range one very hot afternoon in December 2012! It’s always a bit daunting being in front of the camera but they both relaxed very quickly – I’m looking forward to capturing your wedding memories and I know we’re going to have a blast!

Michael & Melanie :: I do

I met Michael and Melanie for the first time two days before their wedding! This is very unusual for me since I normally meet the couple a couple of months prior to their wedding for an engagement session or at least for an initial meeting, but the fact that we met so close to the wedding posed no problems, since they’re both very relaxed and easy to work with.

It was my first wedding at La Petite Auberge in Witbank and I can honestly say I loved every bit of it – their attention to detail is exquisite and the accommodation, buildings and surrounds is an absolute pleasure to photograph!

Sulene assisted me at this beautiful and emotion-filled wedding – thanks again Sulene, as always, you were a great help and truly welcome addition to the day!

Michael and Melanie: thank you for entrusting me with your precious memories, especially under the stressful circumstances leading up to your big day – I enjoyed working with you and appreciate your patience and understanding in finishing your photos. Enjoy them and I wish you only the best for your future together as Mr & Mrs Boshoff.

Laura, thank you for entrusting your client to me – I know it wasn’t an easy decision and I still wish it was one you didn’t have to make; I’d much rather have been your 2nd photographer and know that Guy was still with us today :’( (hope I’m making sense here!)

What a wedding this was! My assistant Suléne and I had so much fun photographing Jaun & Lisha, all the gorgeous décor and delicious food on this beautiful day, that it was really difficult choosing a limited number of photos – therefore, I’ve split this post into two parts!

Simoné :: Class of 2012

Looking at this, I feel very old…I remember the day when I was still just a ‘laaitie’ and my oldest brother and his wife Alda announced they’re expecting a daughter…that little baby girl is now all grown up and in her last year of school (unless she slacks on the studies, which she’d better not!!).

Simoné, I don’t feel old enough to be your uncle, nor do I see myself like that – you know how much I dislike it if you call me “oom”, haha!!

What I do feel however is pride, to have been a part of your life, sometime less often than I would’ve liked but nonetheless still a part; to know you and to know that we’re family; to know that through all the hardships, difficult times and sometimes financial hardships your parents had to endure, they still managed to raise you with the right moral values, but most importantly they loved you unconditionally. That same love shines through in the way you care about others.

I know you love your photos of your Matric Farewell and I am proud to have been able to capture these memories for you.
