A new leaked roadmap from Fujitsu shares details on some of their future tablet related products. The roadmap shares rough and wide-ranging timelines for both Windows 8 tablets and Android tablets. Here is a list of devices that show up on the "confidential" Fujitsu roadmap:

10-inch High-End “Bacura” - Android (maybe the Sylistic tablet we saw earlier this year.)

10-inch Volume Android slate - second quarter of 2012.

“New performance Slate with attachable keyboard” set for the third quarter of 2012 running Windows 8

Several Windows 7 “convertable tablets” - Lifebook T902 with a 13.3-inch display - And the Lifebook T732 with 12.1-inch display - 3rd Generation Intel Core Ivy Bridge processors and will be guaranteed an upgrade to Windows 8

Q5xx tacked on its 10.1-inch - Windows 8

It's amazing how many manufacturers are coming forward to design tablets, and it will be interesting to see some of these new Android and Windows 8 tablets when they finally arrive. Share your thoughts.
NEW YORK, May 29, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Techno Source today announced that Kurio(7), the advanced Android-based tablet designed for families with children and teens is now available for preorder online at Toysrus.com and will first become available at Toys"R"Us stores across the country beginning in July. The Kurio(7) solves problems typically associated with tablets that are passed from parent to child; allowing for safe Web surfing through fully customizable internet controls, while prohibiting the "accidental" purchase of apps. Additionally, users can safely surf the Web, read e-books, draw, play games, take photographs, record video, watch movies and more. Kurio(7), a 7" tablet, comes preloaded with top-tier kids' content, including some of the most popular games, e-books, videos, and educational content available, ensuring its value right out of the box.

"Most parents reluctantly hand over their own expensive tablets to their children, and with good reason," said Eric Levin, Division Head, Techno Source. "Not only are they concerned about the device being damaged, but there is also a real danger that their kids will be able to access inappropriate content or purchase hundreds of apps unimpeded. Kurio(7) solves this problem elegantly and easily by giving parents the peace of mind they want, and kids the feature-packed tablet they are clamoring for!"

"We know that our customers consider quality and safety the top priorities when selecting internet-accessible devices for their families," said Troy Peterson, Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager, Electronics and Entertainment, Toys"R"Us, U.S. "We're excited to be the first destination to offer the Kurio(7), a standout device which allows a single tablet to be used safely by family members of all ages."

The Kurio(7)wi-fi enabled tablet allows parents to create up to eight unique login profiles, offering different levels of internet access for each member of a household. This sense of security is highly sought after by parents since 70% of tablet owning households with kids under 12 are sharing the device between kids and adults(1). Each profile is governed by advanced parental controls, found in a password protected area. The easy-to-use system includes a fully customizable internet content filtering system designed to allow access only to Web content that fits parameters set by adults. It also allows parents to choose which apps are available for use in each profile, as well as controlling access to the app store. Additionally, Kurio(7) provides parents with the ability to limit session times and can allow access only during certain hours each day. Importantly, they can change the controls for each user profile, expanding access as their children become older. A significant benefit of the device, Kurio(7) does not make value judgments for parents, allowing parents to decide what is appropriate for their kids.

Kurio(7)comes pre-loaded with some of the Web's most popular apps, including full versions of games like Angry Birds(TM), Fruit Ninja(TM), Doodle Jump(TM), Cut-the-Rope(TM), Where's My Water(TM), and World of Goo(TM). Kurio(7)also comes with strong educational content, provided by MrNussbaum.com, one of the most up-and-coming sites on the Web, as well as video content from ToonGoggles(TM) and e-books from Aldiko to make learning fun and easy.

Additionally, the entire Kurio Android Marketplace is available for users to download thousands more apps. The marketplace is curated by the Kurio team to ensure that all of the top apps are available and that all content is family appropriate.

Kurio(7) runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), is Flash 11 compatible, allows users to output content in HD for viewing on a TV and has an advanced capacity 7" multi-touch-screen, as well as content from external drives. Designed for heavy use by kids and teens, Kurio(7) comes with a durable, protective shell available in a variety of colors. A complete range of Kurio(7) add-on accessories, including travel carrying cases, car mount systems, headphones, external speakers, styluses, shaped USB keys, digital cameras, and external keyboards will also be available at Toys"R"Us stores nationwide, as well as online at Toysrus.com beginning in July.
A leaked benchmark has surfaced that is very likely the new Asus team-up Google Nexus Tablet. If it is legit, it spells out several details about the new device. According to the gathered intel, the tablet is called the Google Asus Nexus 7 Tablet. Also, the info suggests a couple more interesting tidbits. One is that the tablet will indeed be running a NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset. Additionally, the tablet was running Android 4.1, which may be Jelly Bean. Finally, there are hints that this device is indeed the Asus MeMo 370T, which Asus debuted at CES in January. In fact, the MeMo 370T tablet just passed through it's FCC testing with a 7-inch display and Tegra 3 Chipset, which seems to line up with all the other intel.

Here's a quote with the baselining, which gave us some of this info:
How many of you out there are excited about the new Transformer Pad Infinity? Apparently, Asus wants to build up your anticipation even further, as they have just released a teaser video for their next press launch at CompuTex 2012 in Taipei. Although the teaser video doesn't specifically name the Transformer Pat Infinity, it does hint at the "Next Transformations," which seems to point in the direction of their newest flagship Android Tablet device. Just in case any of our readers have missed the previous news on this one, the Transformer Pad Infinity is supposed to take Android tablet screen tech to a whole new level of beautiful and feature a true HD 1920x1200 display.

The Computex Event will happen on May 31st, so we only have a couple of days before the big reveal.
In case you are thinking the title of this story is a typo, think again. Viewsonic is planning on introducing a 22" Android ICS tablet at the upcoming Computex conference in June. These tablets will be a new breed of “smart business tablet monitors” and they are expected to be running both Android and Windows 8 when introduced. We think a more apt name is Moblet (Monitor Tablet) since these dimensions are reaching monitor size and Viewsonic is well known in that market. No other specs or details are available at this time but from the looks of the picture it appears that the models will have some sort of kick-stand or base to allow them to be propped up when in use.

Way too large or definitely something to keep an eye on?
This news slipped through the cracks a bit because there was more pressing news to cover, but even though it is a couple days old, we thought it worth mentioning. Apparently, there is a rumor that Microsoft will start offering their Microsoft Office Suite on Android and iOS sometime the year. Supposedly, Microsoft is planning for a November launch of the mobile version of their Office product.

The sources of this story indicated that they have actually seen the product running on tablets, although Microsoft has categorically denied that the app exists. This report seems to back up previous rumors that Microsoft may be planning this move. Who knows why they would deny it, other than they want to make their future marketing campaign more cost effective. We will keep you informed if we find out more.
Here is a follow-up piece to one we did earlier in the week. Previously, Acer posted on one of their Facebook pages that the shipment of their Olympic version of the Iconia A510 tablet was held up due to a faulty component. Since then, they have issued a retraction/correction. Apparently, the held up shipment had nothing to do with a faulty component, but was just a supply shortage. Here's a quote from their Facebook page with the official statement,
ASUS isn't known for offering its tablets to North American carriers with 3G or 4G; an FCC filing for a cellular-capable Transformer Pad TF300 could be a clue at a break in the WiFi-only trend. Along with the usual wireless, a TF300TL variant of the Android 4.0 slate has stopped by the agency with the 850MHz and 1,900MHz frequencies needed for HSPA 3G as well as, best of all, 700MHz and 1,700MHz support for LTE-based 4G. All four are what we'd look for in an AT&T-oriented tablet, so don't be surprised if Ma Bell carries a 4G Transformer Pad before long. All but the 700MHz band would be handy for Canadian networks as well. There's no surefire evidence of when the tablet might make a more formal appearance, nor hints of whether or not it will keep the quad-core Tegra 3, although the slight spin on the regular TF300 formula could keep the wait short.
More info has begun streaming out about the Google Nexus tablet. Supposedly, TechnoBuffalo has some exclusive info regarding the phantom device. According to their sources, the first Google Nexus tablet will be announced at Google's I/O Conference next month, and several new details have emerged as well. Here's what their sources suggest:

The tablet will be officially unveiled at Google's I/O Conference, and attendees will each receive one.

Asus will indeed be the first Google Nexus Tablet designer, but there may be more in the works from several manufacturers.

The tablet will have a 7-inch display and a NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset.

Supposedly, this chipset will be based upon NVIDIA's newer, and less expensive, "Kai" architecture. Because of this it will likely retail for around $200.

It may come pre-loaded with Android 5.0/Jelly Bean.

This news piece also hinted at the accuracy of earlier rumors about five different Nexus-style phones from five different manufacturers, and that they will be coming in November "to mark the 5th anniversary of Android."
Here's an interesting tidbit of news for Toshiba Android tablet fans, especially ones who live in the UK. Apparently, Toshiba is bringing a version of their AT300 tablet to the UK. This was same name of a tablet they launched in Japan last year; however, this one has greatly upgraded specs:

8.95mm thin

Quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor

10.1 inch Gorilla Glass display with 1280 x 800 resolution

Wi-Fi

Bluetooth 3.0

HDMI

5MP rear camera

2MP front-facing camera

1GB of RAM

16GB / 32GB of internal memory

SD card slot

10 hour video playback battery

Hmmm... it seems our friends in Great Britain have something interesting to look forward to in the summer.
