Adam Lambert is dating Allison Iraheta?

THIS is why the internet is such a gold mine for the funnies.

http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz282/elizafreetxp/adisondating.jpg

And you know what’s even funnier? Some people are personally tweeting Adam and Allison about it. Wasn’t Adam’s Rolling Stone interview enough to verify rumors about his sexual preference? I think not.

Bullet Points

I’ve been neglecting this blog for about two days now. I mean, in the middle of going out to watch a movie, going shopping, getting a massage and facial, and having my hair done, it’s quite difficult to update this blog as regularly as I can—especially when things have been happening so quickly in both the real world and in the world of entertainment.

E! News features Kris Allen and Adam Lambert talking about Michael Jackson’s tragic death.

Apart from that, Kris Allen admits to TV Magazine that he has a man crush on Adam Lambert (!). I think I seriously died a million fangirl deaths after the latest Kradam interview. Oh, Kradam, why are you just too much to handle?

Oh, and in real world news, after being on a vacation for nearly four months, I start work  in less than a week. That most certainly makes me wonder how often will I be able to update this blog, despite the demands of the corporate world.

The King Of Pop Is Dead

…and I am in denial.

The whole thing has been so overwhelming for me, I don’t know how to react. Heck, it doesn’t even feel like MJ’s really gone.

I think I share the same sentiments with Kris Allen in his latest tweet:

Indeed. MJ, you will be missed

DemoGate: Who’s Telling The Truth?

http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz282/elizafreetxp/0624_adam_lambert_launch_exd.jpg

From TMZ (although I don’t know how reliable this source is):

Lambert’s Old Label — We Got It in Writing!

Posted Jun 25th 2009 2:00AM by TMZ Staff

Adam Lambert claims the album he recorded pre-”Idol” was nothing more than him singing someone else’s songs — but that just isn’t true.

We’ve obtained an internal memo from two divisions of Adam’s old label, which clearly lists Lambert as the co-writer on nine of the 11 tracks on the album.

Lambert’s new handlers released a statement on his behalf this week condemning the album, which said: “I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else … I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks.”

Ironically — or not — one of the tracks Lambert co-wrote is called “15 Minutes of Fame.”

Can anyone please tell me what’s going on? This whole issue has been nothing but confusing and controversial at the same time. True, “Want” most certainly did not reflect who he was as an artist, but the rest of the songs on the soon-to-be-released album were (co)-written by him. What I don’t understand is that why are the songs supposedly on Adam’s upcoming pre-Idol album a bunch of sings he recorded with his band Citizen Vein and a few demos from MySpace? It’s like someone just compiled his demo songs and burned it on a CD. Meh.

I don’t really know what’s going on, but if Adam’s former record label has been telling the truth all along, it would be very bad publicity for Adam—and by very bad, it could pretty much hurt his career BIG TIME (like those reality TV stars who create lots of scandals to keep them around in the rumor mill). Let’s just hope, for Adam’s career, he isn’t lying one bit.

A Kradison Interview

Despite the Idols being busy with their tour rehearsals (a reported $100,000 check is given out to every Idol for their summer tour), the LA Times managed to pull them out of their busy schedules for some fun and candid interviews:

Kris Allen Interviews Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert interviews Kris Allen

These two seriously need to host a variety show (SNL, anyone?) or have a sitcom of their own--I’m serious.
And what good is Idol Season 8 without Allison Iraheta to complete the awesome trio that is Kradison?

Now here’s a bonus clip of the Top 10 Idols rehearsing “Don’t Stop Believin’” for their Idol Tour:

I seriously liked their Top 8 rendition better.

Iklan: Come Closer

Corporate giant Unilever has been running a new regional advertising campaign for Close-Up toothpaste. Roughly entitled, “Bubble At Market,” it features a very Asian setting, a little love story, and a catchy jingle to go along with that.

I’m not really big on Indonesian bands, but Iklan’s Come Closer is pretty good. It’s reminiscent of a mash between Coldplay and Snow Patrol, but with a hint of Asian feel to it.

What do you think of the song? Give it a good listen by pressing play on the video below:

Where is Matt’s mole?

I’ve been stalking following Matt Giraud through his twitter account for some time now, when I finally realized something after looking through several pictures he posted on his tweets.

Where is his forehead mole?

Did he have it surgically removed or is it simply a case of bad camera lighting? I’m thinking it’s the former.

ETA: I did not photoshop this picture. If you want proof, go check out Matt’s twitter account. The photos he posted are somewhere there.

An Open Letter

I was blog-hopping to feed my boredom, when I came across some websites that left me disturbed–on my computer screen were familiar blog entries placed in unfamiliar blog sites.

While I do enjoy your visits to my blogs, and I acknowledge that you appreciate my entries and want to keep them, I find it greatly disturbing and annoying when some of you copy-paste my blog entries, post it on your blogs, and pass the entries off as yours. I put a great amount of effort in pouring out my thoughts and insights on certain topics (not to mention my image bandwidth gets consumed when you use my images at your websites). The very least you could do when you like my entry and post it on your blog is cite me as the author of the entry and link it back to this blog.

It’s not too much to ask, is it?

Farmville: Zynga’s Newest Facebook Application

by Nick O’Neill

In the past few days, Zynga, the leading Facebook platform developer, quietly released a new game called “FarmVille”. If you’ve played Farm Town at any point in the past few months then you won’t need any education about how to use Zynga’s version of the game as it’s almost an exact duplicate. The only feature the company needs is the ability to import the game from Farm Town over to FarmVille and they’ll have come up with a great tool to take over the users.

Zynga has been repeatedly accused for stealing game ideas from other developers. The developer behind Mob wars even sued Zynga for copyright infringement back in February, and it appears that the dispute is still unsettled. With one active lawsuit, the company must feel confident in their strategy of copying the most successful games on Facebook. Farm Town, the most recent game to be copied, has grown steadily over the past few months with over 3.7 million daily active users and over 9.5 million monthly active users.

With such high engagement and no previous competition only one competitor (Barn Buddy), the application has become an example of an extremely successful game on the Facebook platform. Almost 50 percent of the users come back daily which is an impressive feat for any application. So how does Zynga’s new version, “FarmVille”, differ from the highly successful Farm Town? Well, for the time being there is no public marketplace or “Saloon” in which users can go socialize with one another.

Instead, the game is focused on letting users interact with their friends. You can visit your friends farms as well as add them as neighbors. Honestly, this game is likely to be much more viral as it focuses on the interaction between friends, not strangers. One other improvement is the removal of annoying bugs that were prevalent in Farm Town. Often times you would click on a plot of land in Farm Town and it wouldn’t respond.

FarmVille has successfully removed all the kinks and now all that’s left is viral growth. The company is also investing in a large ad campaign which has been showing up occasionally around Facebook. Not surprising considering that this is a typical strategy for the company. On MySpace, they are reportedly spending $2 to $3 million on MySpace ads every month. Regardless, the company continues to grow and they don’t appear ashamed to use any strategy in the book, even if it includes copying others.

Will you be “Moooving to FarmTown”? If you are considering, go check out the farm they gave you.

Farmville Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How do I report a bug in game?
Please see this thread on how to file a bug report.
http://forums.zynga.com/showthread.php?t=76440

Q: How long is a day in Farmville?
Farmville day is currently 23 hours long.

Q: Why is my gift box empty when my friend said they sent me a gift?
You will need to check your facebook notifications and accept gift before it appears in your game gift box.

Q: How can I reset my game and start over?
At this time, you cannot start the game over.

Q: If I can’t restart the game and I deleted all of my crops how can I play?
Add friends to your neighborhood, click on their names in the neighborhood tab and you can do some basic tasks which will earn you xp and coins. Find enough friends and you will have some new crops in no time.

Q: What do animals do?
Currently they stand around looking schmart and stuff. Once you reach level 7, you can sell them for cash.

Q: When can I expand my farm?
While that is a feature that will be brought in as soon as possible, the developers are currently working on fixing any current bugs and problems first (over the next few weeks) before bringing new features into the game.

Q: Why can’t I sell animals and trees?
You will be able to sell your trees and animals when you reach level 7.

Q. How can I make money? I’m broke and can’t plow or plant anything.
There are several ways to make money.
– Add neighbours and help them on their farms for extra coins and experience as often as the game allows.
– Log onto FarmVille every day to get some extra coins from the daily lottery.
– Ask your neighbors to send you trees as gifts. After a few days you will be able to harvest them for extra coins.

Q: Can I delete plots that I’ve plowed if I don’t like where they are?
Yes. Click on the spade shovel in the bottom right corner to delete fields and objects.

Q: Is there a way to ‘permanently’ turn off the music and sounds?
No sorry. However, the developers do think this is a great idea for future features!

Q: How long after a crop is ready to harvest does it become withered?
The amount of time it takes to mature is the amount of time it takes to wither.

Q: Why am I only getting 5 coins and 1 experience point when visiting my neighbors? I used to get 20 coins and 5 points!
You will only receive 20 coins and 5 points for the first 20 neighbors you visit each day, then it will drop to 5 coins and 1 point for each visit after 20 visits.

Q: How do I find out how many experience points I need to get to go up to the next level?
If you hover over your experience bar (located in the upper middle area of your farm screen) with your mouse, it will show you what the experience points are for reaching the next level.

Q: Can I change the name of my farm?
Currently, we are all stuck with the default farm names that the game gives us. In the future, it may be possible to rename your farm.

Q: How many experience points should I get from each seed?
Plants that take less than 1 day to ripen will give you 1 point. Plants that take a day or more will give you 2pts.

Q: What do buildings do?
Besides making your farm look fabulous, they do give experinece points when purchased.

Q: Is there a save button?
A: No, there isn’t a save button for the farm itself, just for the avatar creation. However, the developers may add one after the currently known bugs and glitches are fixed.

===========================================================================
Known Issues:

Q:Why do my crops keep disappearing? Eep! My trees moved!

(GAME SAVE ISSUE)
This is a known issue and the developers are working on it.

This is most likely due to visiting your friend’s farms or answering requests for assistance during or right after planting your crops without exiting the game first, thus saving your changes. The save issue is being worked on by developers.

To work around this problem…

Avoid visiting friends while planting. Exit game after planting and then return to visit neighbors. Or visit all your neighbors first before working on your farm.

Q: Why do I have blank neighbors in game? My neighbors picture is missing on Neighbor bar.
Developers are aware of this issue and are working to fix it.

Q. Whenever I leave my farm, the music comes back even though I’ve turned it off.
This issue seems to be resolved. If anyone is still experiencing this, please let us know.

Q: Why does my avatar keep losing its hair and clothes.
This is a known issue that the developers are working on. To fix it, click on your bald, nekkid avatar, and click “save” when the creation window pops up. You may have to continue to save your avatar each time you enter game until issue can be resolved.
