The Half Sit-up
To achieve the half sit-up, you must begin with the intention of exercising
your abs and promptly fall asleep midway through the task. This position is
extremely advanced and not recommended for amateur sleepers.

The Awkward Spoon
The goal here is not so much for intimacy, as it is the socially
uncomfortable sharing of your physical space with someone. Bonus points if
your arm falls asleep and you’re too scared to move it.

The Cool Dude
The trick here is to look totally relaxed while you’re really extremely
uncomfortable.

Bed Hog
The goal is not so much comfort, as an expression of sheer, unadulterated
greed.

Thinking Outside the Box
Two of your feet – preferably on opposite sides of your body – must remain
outside the box at all times.

The Pile-Up
You end up colliding with at least three others, and you are hoping they all
have insurance.

Be The Box
You must be able to get your whole body in the box, no matter what it takes.
Become one with the box!

The Radiator
Your main goal here is not about comfort……it’s just about warmth.

The Sleeping Dog
This one is easy. Find a dog. Imitate the dog.

The Positive Thinker
You refuse to be let a bad situation get the best of you.

The Drying Rack
Imagine that you are a wet t-shirt. Drape yourself accordingly.

The Head-Rush
Lay on your back, head hanging off the side, paws in the air – and let
gravity do the rest. A pounding headache will incur shortly.

The Non-Conformist
You will first need to find two willing conformists, in order to make your
statement.

The Mid-Sentence
This position is only for those with extreme forms of narcolepsy.

Some Assembly Required
Have a friend take you apart and then try to reassemble you from memory.

Same as above, except without the box.

The Dog Bed
It’s probably the most comfortable bed you will ever sleep on, but smells
kind of funky.

The Dreaded Mid-Afternoon Slump
Eating a big lunch, then falling asleep at your desk.

The Old Married Couple
Your mate’s snoring no longer bothers you.

For many whales and dolphins, the world is shaped by sound; they hunt and navigate by listening for echoes. Navigating in this way requires super-sensitive hearing. And scientists have now found that, for some whales, this sense is adjustable. Researchers in Hawaii measured the hearing of a female false killer whale, and found that she could fine-tune her most crucial sense.

Sensors attached to suction cups on Kina’s body took measurements of her brain activity.

The whale would “turn down” her hearing when she anticipated a loud noise.

It seems even bears enjoy a snow day, as the pair of bears frolicked in the snow acting like excitable children, taking turns to slide to the bottom of the frozen slope.

Their incredible 20-minute display was captured by British photographer Duncan Usher who travelled to a German wildlife park to capture some action shots, but ended up with a little more than he bargained for.

He said: ‘I decided to travel to the park in the hope of getting some action shots of animals in a snowy environment.

Sleddy bears master the technique (Picture: Duncan Usher/Solent News)

‘The two bears were frolicking in the fresh snow, just like children, and they repeatedly slid down a short slope, grunting and puffing with delight and obviously enjoying the early spring sunshine.

‘They attracted a very large crowd of park visitors, who were exclaiming and crying with laughter at the bears’ antics.’

The five-year-old animals even lifted up their back paws to make themselves go faster before ending their run in somersaults at the wildlife park in Bavaria, Germany.

Mr Usher from Allendale, Northumberland said he has never experienced anything like it in 25 years of animal photography.

‘The bears kept up the entertainment for about 20 minutes and ended up play-fighting and rolling around in the snow together,’ he continued.

‘They were very entertaining and in 25 years of animal photography I have never experienced brown bears playing so enthusiastically, or so intensively.’

Ten-month-old J.J. nurses her two kittens and a 2-week-old Raccoon on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Jonesboro Animal Control in Jonesboro, Arkansas. J.J. came to the facility on Friday. The same day an Animal Control officer rescued a baby raccoon and was having a hard time getting it to eat. They put it next to J.J. and she immediately started nursing and cleaning it. Animal Control supervisor Larry Rogers said they have been calling the raccoon Bandit. “We were having to feed him around the clock every two hours and had to clean him up, now the momma cat does everything,” Rogers said. Animal Control volunteer Nicole Costner feeds baby possums behind the cage.
