It has been a long time since I did a figure photoshoot, but this time I decided to take pictures of Tsuruya-chan (鶴屋) the hyperactive friend of Mikuru from anime show The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Last Exile Ginyoku no Fam

Recently I have been watching Last Exile - Ginyoku no Fam anime show and its pretty good. I saw the prequel season which I personally liked. Have you seen any of both?

My favorite character is Guiselle but I also like Fam's energy and determination. Well, for those who havent watched the series yet, I Dont want to spoil it, so following is a image gallery:

Dio Eraclea re-appears in the show. I wonder if other characters from the previous season appears in later episodes.

Konbini Friday wk 5

Some stuff that I needed to buy for this new year. I do most of my konbini shopping in Walmart because its near my place but not all the time.

Do you prefer to go long or short distances to go and buy groceries?

I bought this for my car. Now it has a splendid scent. :)

First time I drink an Aloe Vera natural drink.

A week in Guatemala #14

Continuing with the photo post series "A week in Guatemala" here are some photos at 8:00 pm of Eskala, a shopping center mall over here.

The mall has a Wallmart chain store inside and many food courts.

The day after Christmas the stores were very crowded. All the shelves were empty at the end of the day.

Found a new place to have breakfast.

Two weeks after I bought the Wii, I decided to install the Homebrew Channel to play Wii games over the SD card or the USB.

Lately I have been playing Muramasa: The demon blade. Awesome game with cool graphics. Have you played this game?

Another character resemble found in anime shows. This time its Millhiore F. Biscotti from Dog Days and Madoka Kaname from Puella Magi Madoka Magica (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magika)

Let's see. First Its not an exact match, but something both girls share is the same color design, almost same hair style and dress outfit.

New Year Resolutions

As every year begins, Its time to do some New Year Resolutions. For this upcoming year Im planning to:

Prepare more blog giveaway contests to increase blog exposure. My goal will be to reach to more twitter, G+ and Facebook friends (actually there's 176 fb friends).
Draw the official mascot for the site.
As a side project, Im planning to re-orient my alternate IT site tix-101.
A trip to Japan has been a dream for some time and for this year preparations will be made for late december. Will need seriously learn some japanese too.
In photography I would like to buy a ultra-wide lens (10-22mm).

Anime in Review #4

For the uninitiated, every year, almost at the end, I share my thoughts and comments (trying to avoid spoliers at maximum) about the anime shows that I have seen along the year, and this time is not an exception. Lets start with:

Durarara!!
The best show I have seen in this year. No wonder why its first in my review list. I liked the idea, the concept and the characters, specially Celty and the Dollars gang. I dont know if its under production but I would like a second season of the show. I feel I got filled but hungry with more.

Sora no Otoshinomo
Boy who has a best friend from childhood but He is a pervert, has pervert thoughts with girls in his school and dreams with their pantsu "almost" all the time. To overcome his needs arrives a girl who will fulfill every wish... at some cost. Hilarious show with well served fanservice and cute girls. My favorite characters were Ikaros and Nymph.

Kure wa zombie Desuka?
Being a guy, with no life and bad luck with girls are a magneto for all kind of creatures but all of it changes if you are a zombie, right? Well maybe your plans dont go the way you expect but at least you share your house with 3 spectacular girls who spice your life with a lot of adventures....and fights.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Or just Gurren Lagann for short, brings in my opinion, the best secondary character in history: Yoko Littner. The show started well but then deviates a little bit.

Spice and Wolf
I saw the first and second season with their specials. The show has a strong foundation story and both main characters (Holo and Lawrence) are very "united". The supporting characters didnt had a well developed story along with the main cast but the anime series is very good (although I got lost at times with all the trading lingo but it was in short times).

Precisely a week in Guatemala post in blog before Christmas Eve to summarize all the things I did (and am doing) before the special night.

Are all your preparations ready for Christmas eve?

As a pre-Christmas gift I've got a Nintendo Wii as you can see in the related post. Now all that I need is more games and Im all set.

Part of December's celebrations we had a party (convivio) in the office. Its something nice the management do every year to celebrate such a good sales year at work.

Plenty of food free for all co-workers!!

It has been many years ago since I painted the house. This year was about time for a new paint brush to the walls.

How many of you keeps painting your bedroom for the holidays?

One of the rooms in the apartment looking all messy because of the painting. Moving boxes and stuff is the only way to keep them clean as I paint.

Wii console

Yeah, Im now the happy owner of a Nintendo Wii gaming console. In the console war I would prefer the PlayStation 3 but I got the Wii completely free as part of a included bundle for my home WiFi connection.

Im not a complet avid gamer but I had the GameCube and played some popular games with it. (Will make a post about it later).

Now, which games do you recommend for the Wii? Im about to go to buy The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword game to play it during my vacations that are about to come next week.

Danbo Amazon Robot

For the uninitiated, Danbo or Danboard (ダンボー) is a cardboard box robot. It's as low-tech as one can possibly get I think. In fact, its not actually a robot at all.... (photo compilation after the jump).

Danbo appeared first time in the popular serial, Yotsubato/Yotsuba manga chapter 28.

In the manga, Danboard is a costume worn by Miura Hayasaka, a friend of Yotsuba's most frequent playmate, Ena Ayase. Ena does not have the heart to tell Yotsuba that Danboard is not a real robot, so Yotsuba thinks Danboard is real.

Danboard looks great in pictures, despite its blocky appearance.

Hercules Club

Yesterday I went to Hercules Tennis club to watch the final match game from a local championship.

The entrance to the club is limited to member only but for the great finale it was open to the public. I couldnt miss this chance to go and see inside how the club looks like and to snap some pictures with my camera.

Seeing the tennis fields reminds me the Prince of Tennis anime show. Have you seen it?

Before the match begins the court was prepared. As you can see it is a clay court.

I would like to learn to play a little bit tennis. Are you affiliated to any club?

A week in Guatemala #12

This week in Guatemala I went to a Giant Kite festival. It was very amazing and crowdie as you can see in the picture. More photos are available at this post.

I also bought a new macro camera lens. Now I can take pictures up to very close. ^^

Recently over here a new mall was open called Portales and movie theater is runned by Cinepolis, a brand chain of cinemas.

Featured films were Jhonny English, The 3 Musketeers, Real Steel.

Me with a friend decided to watch the new version of The Three Musketeers. The movie was so-so. I liked more the Disney version from 1993 with Charlie Sheen and Kiefer Shuterland.

Have I tell you how much I like Ice cream and chocolate?

The McRib is back in town for only Q35.00 (US$4 aprox.)
