In this post I am posting some really useful java applications and games for nokia cell phones, although I am not quite sure as to whether these will be working for all the cell phones but these are very useful. Check these out :

Snaptu : This is an application which encompasses multiple social networks within a single application. A very useful application that is freely available on the web. You can download this great application here.

eBuddy : eBuddy is a kind of messenger which allows you to chat from your mobile. If you have a yahoo account or a gmail account you can integrate your account with eBuddy and can chat with your contacts from your mobile. To download eBuddy click here.

Mobile PDF Viewer : This application allows you to read PDF files on your nokia cell phones. A really handy tool to have as it allows you to take e-books along with you in your cell phones.To download this application click here .

The Answering Bot : This application can be termed as mobile avatar of google. Type any query in the answering bot and will give you the answer. To download it click here .

Real Soccer 2011 by GameLoft : This is a wonderful game released by gameloft and I have the original version. Beware of some other websites which are trying to give away the pirated version. You can download this game by clicking here .

There are many more applications which are really helpful, but I am keeping them reserved for my next posts. :)

How Good Is DropBox ?

So another new technology or I should say a web tool in the name of DropBox is out and has become popular to an extent. Let me first explain what is it all about. Dropbox is a web tool that allows users to share files between different users. What it does is as soon as we download the Dropbox from their official website it creates a folder called "My Dropbox" in any one of your hard drives and then you can store or copy your files in that folder. After doing this, your files stored in the "My Dropbox" folder on your hard drive will be synchronized and uploaded to the web. This feature provides the ability to store and access your files anytime and anywhere, in other words it is a very portable way of sharing and accessing your data. This feature has some advantages and disadvantages that I am listing here:

ADVANTAGES

Portability : This tool is extremely portable and also a comfortable way of storing and sharing files on the web. The reason behind this portability is that the developers have built this tool by keeping in mind the things which the users around the world are already familiar viz the file system of their OS. Based upon that foundation they have built a tool which provides abstraction between the users and uploading and downloading process.
Independent of Operating System : Dropbox is independent of the operating system. It means that two persons can still share files between their respective dropboxes even if they use different operating systems.
Simple User Interface : If you want portability and ease of use that you should use this tool because it is very simple to use as it is built upon the foundation of the file system of your OS.

DISADVANTAGES

Less Space : Dropbox provides only 2 GB of free space for every user as compared to some other websites like google which provide around 8000 MB of free space. Also to mention that you will be able to do the same things that you can do with dropbox by creating a Google account but then the portability advantage gets diminished by using this features through google.

Expensive : If you want some more space on DropBox here is a catalogue that they offer, which I believe is expensive as compared to other tools that exist on the internet:

No Option for Sharing on Social Networks : Dropbox doesn't provide you with a direct option to share your files on sharing on social networks. Although it does provide you with a link for your files which you can share but still It is an icing on the cake if you get an option to share it directly to multiple social networks like Facebook and Twitter

So that is the story as far as DropBox is concerned and what I would like to recommend you is to enjoy the free version but if portability and easiness of use are your priorities then only you should go for "Pro".

How to create your own radio station ?

Hello readers, in this post I will tell you how to create your own radio station in Windows using a website called Shoutcast.

Firstly, there are some preliminary requirements that you need to fulfill for creating your own radio station:

You must have the latest version of Winamp installed on your system. If you don’t have it you can download it here.

Your internet speed should be at least 25 kbps to start streaming.

First of all download all the 4 tools given on this page: http://www.shoutcast.com/broadcast-tools
Now after you have downloaded, install the SHOUTcast DNAS 1.9.8 and also the SHOUTcast DSP Plug-In for Winamp.
After installing both the tools mentioned above, you need to edit the Shoutcast DNAS Configuration file, you can find it in Start–>SHOUTcast DNAS–>Edit SHOUTcast DNAS configuration.
Open this file and just look for these three fields which are usually surrounded by rectangles :

MaxUser=32; this field determines the maximum number of listeners your station can have, maximum permissible value is 50, so if you want you can change it to 50 by replacing the value 32 by 50.
Password=changeme; this field is your password and the default password provided to you is “changeme” so better change it to one that you want bye replacing the “changeme” by password of your choice.
PortBase=8000; this is your port number which by default is 8000, if you don’t have any other service running on your system on port 8000 then don’t change it. Otherwise, change the value to any other port.

After you have finished editing the configuration file don’t forget to save it.
After doing this, open Winamp and press Ctrl-P, a Winamp preferences window will open up, select DSP Effect under Plugins, and just select the Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP v1.9.1.
After selecting this, a new window will open up by the name SHOUTcast source having four tabs Main, Output, Encoder, Input, now follow these steps:

Select the Encoder Tab, and select Encoder 1, and also select Encoder type as MP3 encoder from the drop down list.
Now in the Output Tab, change the password to the one you edited in the SHOUTcast DNAS Configuration file, by default the port number is 8000 but In case you changed it in the SHOUTcast DNAS Configuration file then set the port number to the one in your SHOUTcast DNAS Configuration file. Also select Encoder as 1 from the drop down list.
After this Go to Start–>SHOUTcast–>SHOUTcasr DNAS(GUI), a window will open up with the title Server Monitor.
Now go back to winamp and open a song and play it, and now in that SHOUTcast Source window having those four tabs select the output tab and press Connect.
Now in the Status if you see the data sent changing then your radio station has started, you can make your friends listen to the songs that you are playing by giving them the link of the type: http://(Your-IP-Address):(Port number)/listen.pls

You can find your IP address here and your port number by default shall be 8000 but if you have changed it in the configuration file put in the changed number.
That’s it you are done..!!

How to Convert Web Pages to PDF Files?

That's the question isn't it..?? What if you want to save your favourite web pages as pdf files, or you have read a very interesting article on the internet and want to keep it with you so that you can read it even when you are offline..??
Here is a trick to do this and believe me it is as simple as clicking your fingers, courtesy: pdfmyurl.com.

Firstly, drag the below given bookmarklet into the bookmarks of your browser:

That's it..!! you are done, and now whenever you come across a web page or an article that you want to save as pdf file, just visit that page and click on the bookmark in your browser that you have saved in the previous step.

Now the second point of this article is that if you are blog owner and want your readers to download your articles as pdf files, then there is also a way for it, you will find the trick to do that here:

Automatically play subtitles on media player classic

Movies in foreign languages can often lead to only visual pleasure and so we download the subtitles to make them understandable.
Downloading the subtitles from a website by typing the movie name on google and then searching for it, downloading them and then if those subtitles don’t work it can be a touch frustrating.

Here is a trick or rather I should say a feature unexplained through which we can automatically download and play subtitles on Media Player Classic also known as K-Lite Kodec pack.

Here is the process:

* Firstly open Media Player Classic and navigate to View–>Options, and then under the playback menu on left select Output option.
* Now in the Output option select VMR9(renderless) option and save the changes.
* Now in the Option window Under the Subtitles option select Database and in the base URL box paste this string: www.opensubtitles.org/isdb
* Now save and apply all the changes.
* Open the movie of which you want subtitles and go to File–>Subtitle Database–>Download.
* A list of subtitles in various languages will be displayed, select the language in which you want and click Download & open.
* If one of the subtitles don’t work you can always select some other subtitles in the same language by following the previous step.

Task Manager Disabled By Administrator

This is a common problem that people face these days and is often accompanied by strange error messages. If you are getting the same kind of problem I request you to check your system thoroughly and scan it with an anti virus software.

This is how it looks like:

Always remember that formatting your system OS should be the last solution that one should opt for. There are various levels of dealing with these kind of problems:

THE MINOR LEVEL: At this level, task manager disabled problem can be solved by modification in the registry. The cause might be the accidental modification of registry by some annoying programs.

There are various methods to deal with this problem at this level:

METHOD 1:

Click Start, Run, and then copy paste this command into it:

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Method 2:

Change Task Manager settings by a .reg file,

1. Open notepad and copy paste the following code in it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"DisableTaskMgr"=dword:00000000

2. Save this notepad file as taskmanager.reg and open it.

If the above two methods don't work then your system might have been affected by either a virus, trojan, or spyware. No need to worry you can follow method 2 to resolute this problem.

THE MAJOR LEVEL:
Please download the following three software :

1. Download Process explorer, Click here to download.

2. Download HijackThis, Click Here to download.

3. Download RRT Tool, Click Here to download.

Follow these steps:

Extract and run processexplorer.exe , on the left corner if the process explorer window you will see all the processes running on your system arranged in a tree format.
Watch under the explorer.exe branch, if u see any process that has the icon of a folder under the explorer.exe branch, Shift-Delete that process.
Now Open HijackThis Tool, It will ask What would u like to do? Select the button Do a system scan and save a log file.
After doing this you will get a list, select anything that looks suspicious to you, But Be Careful as wrong selection can also delete other important programs from your system.
Select the suspicious items and click Fix Checked Button, it will permanently remove those suspicious items.
Finally, run the RRT tool and wait till it automatically detects restrictions present on your system and then click remove restrictions and reboot your system.

After rebooting scan your system with an updated anti virus software. If the above mentioned methods does not solve your problem then system format is the final solution.
